Ravi, Zoey, Nate, Steel and Mayor Daniels made their way towards the Morph-X Tower, all the while keeping an eye out for more of Evox's forces. They were coming close when they stopped briefly to catch their breath. Mayor Daniels liked to think he was in shape, he prided himself on taking long walks and going to the gym along with some of his security detail, but he had to admit struggling a little to keep up with the Rangers. Even without any powers, they were all trained to be in exceptional shape.

"Are you alright, Mr Mayor?" Zoey asked him, panting a little. He gave her the thumbs up gesture as he doubled over, resting his hands on his thighs to support himself.

"I'll be a lot better when we get out of here." He confessed, before looking up, seeing Evox's monstrous new form some way from them. Fortunately, he didn't appear to be chasing them. It was one of the few things going in their favour right now. The Ultrazord had already taken a beating in the battle with the Gigadrone army, and it was still up in the air if it would survive the journey back to their dimension. Standing up to Evox was going to be nothing short of an exercise in futility. "What's he doing?"

They all looked, seeing him standing inside some kind of frame the size of a skyscraper. There was an ominous glow coming from him.

"He's digitising himself, preparing to teleport back to our world." Nate informed them. "Something of his power, it'll take a while."

"How long do we have?" Ravi asked him.

"Not long enough for my liking." Nate answered honestly. "Come on, we need to keep moving."

Elsewhere, Devon was in the midst of his battle with Blaze. He had been fighting with him now for several months, and if he was honest, the record did not stand in his favour. Blaze had been a multiple time world champion for a good reason. He had been training in Martial Arts since he was a child, something that his father had encouraged to teach him discipline and a killer instinct that he had hoped would make him a worthy successor to him when it was time to leave his empire in Blaze's hands. He had beaten and humiliated Devon more than once in all their battles.

He threw himself aside as Blaze swung for him, narrowly missing taking his head off, stumbling a little as he tried to regain his composure.

"You're looking frustrated Blaze!" Devon taunted him, seeing the impatient look on Blaze's face as he let out a snort and tried to focus himself. "Not as easy as it was before is it?"

"Nah, I'm just playing with you!" Blaze responded. "I can take you any time I want!"

He lunged for Devon, at which their blades clashed a few more times, while Devon tried to figure out a way past his guard.

"Really? Then why am I still standing?" Devon asked in response.

"You just don't get it, do you?" Blaze asked him. "Some people are just better than others! I'm better than you! I've always been better than you! No matter how many times you come back, no matter what new tricks Barnes teaches you, you're never going to be in my league!"

"Mike taught me a lot, but I've learned a lot myself Blaze!" Devon answered as he dodged a few of his strikes. "I'll admit, when all this started, this was about pride. I was sore that you beat me in the gym. I was frustrated you beat me in battle, but the difference between you and me is I learned to put pride aside."

"Which is why instead of running you're still here?" Blaze asked as he came at him, hammering into his guard a couple of times, before finally scoring a hit across Devon's chest, but Devon used the momentum to swing around, slashing across Blaze's face. Instead of blood, the wound gave off a green glow. Blaze held his hand to his face, and looked to Devon as he steadied himself.

"That's the difference, Blaze, you're all about ego. Even the possibility I might beat you is eating you up inside! You're so desperate to prove yourself that you're trying to talk a good game, trying to convince yourself there's no way you can lose!"

Blaze roared as he came at Devon again, smashing into his guard with savage yells.

At the Morph-X Tower, Nate and the others finally got inside, making their way to the main control console. Steel, Zoey and Ravi all set up a defensive perimeter while Nate went to the controls.

"Alright, Nate, we're here." Ravi told him. "Do what you need to do."

"It'll take a little while to figure out…" Nate started to say, before seeing the systems before him. "It's just like I feared, they teleported the tower but not all of the connected systems. I've not got many options; I've only got the most rudimentary safety systems."

"So, you can't set this thing to blow?" Zoey asked him. "Can we make like a bomb or something?"

"Nothing that would get through the safety shields." Nate told her. "But there's an option available…just not my preferred option."

"What option is that?" Steel asked.

"This volume of Morph-X all in one place creates a large-scale exothermic reaction, it runs incredibly hot, hot enough to cause an ignition." Nate explained. "Just like in a nuclear reactor we have cooling rods, a material in there that helps keep the temperature down. I should be able to hack the system and remove them."

"So, it'll heat up and blow." Zoey surmised, at which Nate nodded. "Why do I get the feeling that you're nervous about that?"

"It'll work, but it won't be as predictable as some of the other methods I had in mind." Nate told them honestly. "Once I do this, it should take a few minutes to heat up to critical…but I can't be sure HOW quickly."

"So, we do this and book it." Ravi stated. Nate just shook his head.

"I can't in good conscience risk all of us." He told them. "I'll stay and set the system, the rest of you head to the Ultrazord and go. I'll meet you on the other side."

"Nate, no!" Steel protested. "Bro, we're not leaving you behind!"

"I can't risk all of us by starting this…"

"Then let one of us do it." Steel insisted.

"It'd take too long for me to explain how to do it." Nate explained. "Trust me, I know what I'm doing, but if I'm thinking about you…"

He couldn't help looking to Zoey when he said this. He then just sighed, looking around all of them.

"If I'm thinking about all of you, I might not be able to concentrate." He told them. "Even a slight delay could be the difference between…"

"Alright, we get it." Ravi interrupted him. "I'm not happy about it, but as few people down range as possible, right?"

"Exactly." Nate concluded. "Trust me, I'll be right behind you."

"You better be, bro." Steel said, hugging him tightly. Ravi just gestured away.

"Come on, guys." Ravi declared. "We need to get out of here."

As Ravi led Mayor Daniels and Steel away, Zoey stayed behind. Nate saw her waiting and made his way towards her.

"Zoey, I need…"

She cut him off, grabbing him and kissing him passionately. They parted a little way, at which he looked into her eyes as she tried to keep her tears in check.

"Just…come back." She begged him. He just nodded, at which she ran off, following the others. Nate turned back to the console, beginning to punch the controls.

"Alright, let's do this." He muttered to himself.

Elsewhere, Devon and Blaze continued their battle. Devon was on the defensive, blocking Blaze's strikes as the avatar tried to overpower him.

"I was able to put my pride aside. Now, it doesn't matter to me if you're better than me or not!" He told him. "The only reason I'm here is because I feel sorry for you!"

"Don't you DARE pity me!" Blaze yelled at him.

"Blaze, I saw what your life was like…I can't imagine what that would have been like." Devon told him. "Your dad was a terrible person…"

Blaze came at him one more time, dashing aside Devon's guard and sending his sword spinning over some rocks out of view. As he hit the ground, Devon scrambled away, regaining his feet and beginning to run. Blaze kept running after him, his weapon raised, preparing to take him out.

Back in the real world, Commander Shaw, Joanne, Ben and Betty were all waiting with a full security team and a full medical team in the Zord Hangar by the Cyber Gate. They were all waiting with baited breath, hoping for some sign of the Rangers.

"What's taking so long?" Betty asked. "You…you don't think…?"

"We can't let ourselves think like that." Ben assured his sister, wrapping his arms around her, holding her warmly. Joanne was just sitting silently by her console, looking for any signs of energy signatures.

"Commander Shaw, we have something coming through the Cyber Gate, fast!" She rushed out.

"Everyone, stand by!" Commander Shaw called out. The Cyber Gate started to glow, and it sparked ominously as it started to flare up. They all started to edge slowly into position, trying to stay close enough to act, but not getting too close. Joanne saw the readings on her console and her eyes opened wide.

"It's big!" She yelled. "Everyone hit the deck!"

They all scattered as in a flash, the Ultrazord, charred and damaged, came skidding through the Cyber Gate, falling flat on its face as it came through and sliding along the floor, before slamming into the wall at the other side of the hangar. Engineers and the medical team all started running towards it as Ravi, Nate, Steel and Mayor Daniels scrambled out.

"Get everyone clear, Engineering, stabilize the Ultrazord!" Commander Shaw commanded. She tried to grab Ravi's arm, but he pulled away from her sharply, just glaring at her. He helped Mayor Daniels back to his feet and very quickly away from the Ultrazord as engineers started dousing it with fire retardant foam.

"We're fine." Zoey assured them. "A little banged up but we're fine."

"Where are Devon and Nate?" Betty asked. They all just looked to her.

"Nate had to stay to destroy the Morph-X tower and seal Evox in the Cyber Dimension." Zoey explained uneasily. "Devon…"

"Devon stayed to deal with Blaze." Ravi told them. "He didn't want to risk leaving his avatar behind. He's trying to bring Blaze home."

"He's a fine young man." Commander Shaw commended him, looking at Mayor Daniels. "You must be very proud."

"I am." He agreed. "It doesn't mean I'm not terrified."

"Guys, what the Hell did you do to my Ultrazord?" Joanne shrieked, looking to her beloved Zords. Ravi just shifted a little uneasily.

"Uh…yeah, we might have run into a lot more trouble than anticipated." He admitted. "But we brought her home."

There was a loud crash from the corner of the room.

"Make that…most of it." Steel corrected them. There was another crash and the wreckage lost a lot of its height. "Some of it?"

Another crash followed, at which it ended up just a pile of junk on the floor. Ravi, Zoey and Steel all looked to Joanne apologetically.

"Sorry?" They offered weakly.

Back in the Cyber Dimension, Nate worked quickly to hack the console. He kept looking around to make sure that nothing was coming.

He managed to break through the last level of security, withdrawing the cooling rods. The alarms started to sound as they were removed.

"Yes!" Nate yelled excitedly as he got onto his communicator. "Devon, this is Nate, the Morph-X Tower is about to blow. We need to get out of here."

"Blaze is still kicking." Devon answered. Nate just looked to his communicator in horror.

"Devon, we don't have time! We might have less than two minutes!" Nate warned him. "You need to get out of here, now!"

"Not until I deal with Blaze!" Devon answered.

"Devon…"

"Nate, trust me!" Devon yelled. "Get out of here!"

Nate was about to protest, but there was a blast and the building shook. He breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment, he thought that might have been it, but when he was still standing there, he just got onto his communicator.

"Devon, I'm coming to help…"

"No way, you go!" Devon interrupted him. "As few people at risk as possible! Go! I'll be fine!"

Nate didn't want to leave him, but he knew that potentially they were only minutes away from all being destroyed. He put his communicator away and started to run.

Devon shut off his communicator, bringing his attention back to his predicament. He'd managed to give Blaze the slip and find some cover, but now he needed to find a way to turn the tables back in his favour.

He started to peer around the corner, only to see Blaze rounding the corner. The avatar swung for him, almost taking his head off, but Devon ducked, meaning he only got a little piece of his hair. Blaze pulled his sword from the rock face as Devon regained his feet.

"Hey, I paid good money for that do!" Devon complained, patting his hair. Blaze just sneered.

"Don't worry, you'll be saving a fortune in haircuts when I take your head!" Blaze answered as he came at him, swinging wildly. Unarmed, Devon had little choice but to duck and dive out the way.

There was a blast from a little way off, which caught their attention. Blaze could see it was coming from the Morph-X tower, and looked towards it.

Devon ran for him, tackling him and wrestling with him to try and take Blaze's sword. He hammered a fist into Blaze's face, but Blaze grabbed him, hauling him off him, before swiping at him with the sword. This time, the sword caught flesh, slicing into his cheek. Devon let out a grunt of pain and his hand strayed to his face as he staggered away.

"Consider that payback!" Blaze taunted him, gesturing to his own cheek. "Face it, Devon, you're just like me! You could have left any time! You could have been on your way home with your friends, but you just couldn't leave this little thing you have against me alone!"

Devon looked around, before seeing something in the dust a little way off. It was the unmistakable shape of the handle of his Beast X Sabre.

"You don't get it, Blaze, this isn't about me." Devon said, before starting to sprint away. Blaze ran after him, raising his sword. Devon could feel Blaze hot on his heels, right behind him.

He dove to the ground, snatching up his Beast-X Sabre from the dust, rolling back to his feet, and swiped upwards. Blaze was almost right on top of him, much too close to stop himself. He hadn't seen the sword. Devon swiped the sword from Blaze's hand, sending it spinning into the air, before spinning around, ramming his Beast-X Sabre through Blaze's chest.

The avatar staggered backwards, clutching at the sword, before collapsing to his knees as Devon reached up, catching Blaze's sword as it came down. It looked up, seeing Blaze standing over him.

"Game Over." He said, spinning around, before striking the avatar's head from his shoulders. It exploded in a bright green light, before vanishing. Devon breathed a sigh of relief. "Virus, eliminated."

There was another blast, and the ground shook. Devon shook himself back into action. He was beaten and exhausted, but there was no time to rest yet.

"Now I just have to hope MY game isn't over!" He stated, before running as fast as he could.

Back in Grid Battleforce, they waited for news from Nate or Devon. They all looked to it as the gate started glowing again. The Security Team all prepared their weapons.

"Hold your fire!" Zoey screamed as she saw Nate appearing through the Cyber Gate. She ran up to meet him, grabbing him in a tight embrace as the others came to help him through. His face was red, and he was clearly out of breath. They helped him over to a medical team, but he started waving them off.

"The tower's set to blow." He told them.

"What about Devon?" Mayor Daniels asked. Nate just shook his head.

"He…he told me to go!" He protested. "I wanted to help but…"

"Guys, someone else is coming…they're coming fast!" Betty yelled. Joanne got onto her console, checking the energy signature.

"It's Devon!" She shrieked. Mayor Daniels stepped up towards the Cyber Gate.

"Devon!" He screamed.

The rest of them all gathered around, beckoning him forward, screaming encouragement at him.

"The tower's at critical!" Joanne yelled. "We need to shut the gate!"

"But Devon…"

"Hold it as long as you can!" Commander Shaw ordered her. "Devon, you better get your butt through here, that's an order!"

They all screamed encouragement as Devon fought every instinct in his body just to collapse. He was almost completely spent; his legs gave out right before he got through the gate. Mayor Daniels saw how close he was, and without a second's thought, he ran through to the other side. He grabbed his son, dragging him with him.

He felt something hit him, like a hard punch, but he kept going. They both tumbled through the gate onto the floor.

"Joanne, shut the gate, now!" Commander Shaw screamed at her. Joanne shut down the Cyber Gate, just as the team swarmed around Devon, helping him up.

Mayor Daniels pulled himself into a seating position, before staring at his hand. He didn't know what had happened, but since he felt the hit, his hand and arm felt cold, tingly. He barely noticed as a medic came to speak to him.

"What?" He asked. "No…no, I'm fine. See to my son."

As they all swarmed around the Rangers, both to check on their condition and to celebrate their victory, all Mayor Daniels could do was stare at his hand.
