As Marco got up from his bed, Star woke up. "Where are you going?", she asked sleepily. "Janna just called me and said I should go and check it out", Marco said a bit anxious but tired. Star quickly thought of something, "Uhm Marco, how you gonna get to Earth?". Marco slapped his face, he hadn't thought of that. Star giggled, "I'll call Hekapoo", and with that she jumped out of bed. She summoned her cloudy charm and as soon as it appeared she jumped on and they bolted through the castle. Marco hastily got dressed in his normal attire. Star looked through the whole castle but to no avail, the next idea was to ask Manfred and so she did. Manfred would not listen to reason without the Queen's consent. Star took him by his collar and dragged him to her mother's room. She knocked before entering, and saw a half asleep queen Moon, which was an unfamiliar sight a side she has never seen. Star woke her mother up and explained the whole ordeal. Queen Moon eventually gave in and agreed. Star then speeded to where Marco was. They were readying themselves for what to expect but they would soon find out how unprepared they were. Star asked Marco to leave the room and he did. Once ready she left her room took Marco's hand in hers, she coukd feel how sweaty his hands were so she knew he was nervous, he was anxious about what was going on on Earth. They soon found Manfred standing next to a portal. Marco and Star stood there in front of the portal, Marco took a deep breath and stepped through with his eyes closed.

He felt heat assaulting his body, it smelled like something burning, he heard a lot of commotion, sirens, rubble falling, panic. Upon opening hos eyes, his heart sank. He was desperately trying to hold back his tears. The sight he was looking at etched itself into a permanent picture inside of his head. What Marco was looking at was his former home, blown to the ground, it was chaos incarnate. Janna was on the scene, she was crying. Marco walked over to her and all he could hear coming from her was apologies. Star ran over the rubble and heard a soft pain filled voice that cried for help, it was Marco's mother. She was in terrible shape, Star signaled the medics over to where mrs. Diaz was. Marco saw the paramedics taking his mother to the ambulance. Desperate, he searched for his father. Star got quiet. He threw rubble here and he threw some there, after 20 minutes of searching he finally found his father. He had deep lasirations all over his body and was loosing a lot of blood. He was not breathing. Marco was completely shattered at the sight of his father's battered and bruised corpse. He held his father in his arms and started crying and screaming. His voice echoed through the silence of the night. Star went to him knelt down next to whete he was sitting, and she hugged him. Tears fell from her eyes, she felt just as bad as Marco, she had just lost her 'Earth' father. The paramedics came and took his father's corpse from him. He clenched onto Star, not wanting to let go, he needed it. He could no longer keep anything in, so he cried and cried untill he could no longer do so. Star conjured up her cloudy charm, which was a thunderstorm cloud now, he was no longer pink, fluffy and happy. Marco and Star got on and rushed to the hospital after the ambulance.

Upon arriving at the hospital he saw the hearse and he knew it was for his father, but to his unfortunate surprise the hearse loaded both his parents. Marco's pupils decreased in size and his vision started to blur, his heart was pounding in his ears. He felt a shortness of breath before he passed out. Star was panicking but soon snapped out of her haze by Janna who just arrived at the hospital. Janna asked Star in which room they were but Star only shook her head. Janna instinctively knew why she shook her head. Janna was shocked beyond belief. Marco's voice was hesitant and wavering as the tears started falling from his face, "Star I..I... L..Let's just go home". Star cried excessively at the sight of a shocked and traumatized Marco. Janna went up to Marco hand hugged him and apologized. Marco remained silent not even returning the hug. Manfred tapped Star's shoulder and asked her if he should open a portal to Mewni. Star just nodded. Manfred took his scissors and cut into their reality. Star took Marco's hand and lead him through the portal. Upon landing on Mewni Marco just went up to his room and shut the door. The moon shown brightly through his window. He closed his window amd went to sat on his bed. He leant against the wall holding his knees to his chest. He sat there emotionless, it all still needed to sink in. He heard a knock at his door and a muffled voice saying, "Hey Marco, can I come in? I think there's something you need to know". Marco's eyes widened slightly, he then stood up and walked to the door and opened it. Star stood there, less energetic than usual, she looked sad. Marco didn't say a word. Star made her way to his bed and signaled him to sit beside her with a pat next to her.

Marco sat down next to her, he was leaning against the wall en held his knees to his chest. Star took his hand and sighed heavily before she spoke. "Marco, I detected magic when we were at your home, I think Toffee might have done it", Star said while tightening her grip on his hands. A single tear fell from his right eye before he buried his head in his knees. Star stood up and hugged him. She lift his head and kissed him on the forehead before leaving for her own bed. As her hand touched the doorknob she thought of something. "(thinking to herself) I don't think I should leave him alone tonight". She then left the door shut and went to ly next to Marco, she took his hand amd held it. They sat like that for hours, Star eventually fell asleep but Marco couldn't sleep at all. He had been thinking, if it was toffee who did that to his parents, he need to avenge their deaths. That hurt, alot more then he had anticipated. He still needed to get used to that, to the idea that his parents are... He only had one thought on his mind, revenge. He stood up and quietly left his room, he was careful not to wake up Star. He walked down the halls of the castle, it was a full moon and it shown brightly. It luminated his way as he mindlessly walked around. He then saw a light coming from a half open door. As he walked up to it he heard someone speaking to themselves. It was Hekapoo, she was busy with paperwork, so much so that she didn't notice Marco's presence. He cleared his throat which led Hekapoo to be startled and jump. This caused him to smile but it quickly faded. Hekapoo corrected herself and spoke professionally towards Marco. "Hello Marco, can I do anything for you?". Marco spoke for the first time since the incident, "Hey Hekapoo, Could you maybe tell whats the fastest way to get stronger?". Intrigued but puzzled Hekapoo told him about the most dangerous dimension and how training there would make anyone stronger, even wimpy nerds, 'her words not Marco's'.

Marco asked her how to get there, which she answered, "With dimensional scissors of course". He then asked if he could get a pair of dimensional scissors. Hekapoo told him that it had to be earned, and Marco was determined to get a pair. Hekapoo was bored and wanted a break from all the paperwork she opened a portal to her dimension (which was the most dangerous one according to her). Marco and her stepped through the portal and on the other side was a dried out, barren land. One that screamed, 'Solidarity yet dangerous'. And that was exactly what he wanted. Hekapoo explained to him that he had to do something to earn his own pair of dimensional scissors. Marco quickly learned that in her dimension the air was thinner which made it harder to breathe and move. He had to blow out her flame to earn his pair of scissors. He agreed, it kept his mind off of everything that has happened.
