I was in awe. This girl never ceases to amaze me. She was supporting me in any decision I was deciding to make. She was willing to stick around and be my friend and she was supporting me no matter who I chose. I pulled away from her and saw her smile but when I looked into her eyes I saw fear, grief, guilt, love, and understanding. I felt a tug in my chest and it wasn't towards Elena. I would apologize again but I knew who I had to choose. I chose Serana. The beautiful woman who was standing before me supported me no matter who I chose or if I would run back to Elena, while hurting her. Someone who had just lost her home and was totally alone was willing to stand by me no matter my decision. I had never had that. Elena didn't do that for me or for my brother, she never would. Elena believed everyone should go to the lengths of sacrificing themselves for her safety only. She didn't care about anyone else's, but Serana did. She didn't automatically assume that I would believe whatever came out of her mouth. She didn't just expect me to fight for her but she fought for others also, she returned the favor in a good way.

I smiled at her and she smiled at me again.

"I choose you Serana. I want to. I will apologize to Elena but I want you no matter what." I said and picked her up and hugged her hard.

She hugged me back and kissed my cheek.

"Can we go outside?" She asked and I jumped with her and I heard a twig snap. I stopped and set her down.

"Who's there?" I asked and Serana started slowly looking around.

A blond haired male stepped into the clearing. I heard Serana gasp. Her face had gone stern and her heart rate had sped up.

"Klaus. Are you here for the Doppelgänger?" She asked and I became confused.

I started to talk but I noticed her hand in mine. She was squeezing my hand hard and trembling.

"No Serana you should know that. You are my witch. You have been for years. Why would you run off now?" Klaus asked.

I looked at Serana and I started moving but she squeezed my hand again. She was telling me to be quiet, and to hold still. She knew something I didn't and then I smelt it. The scent of a vampire and a werewolf mixed together coming from Klaus. I looked down at Serana and then kept completely still trusting her completely.
