Five was done with this conversation. He had no desire to know where he came from—he'd spent the last few decades of his life trying to get back to this place.

"What benefit could meeting our…mothers have? So we can kiss and hug and split up the team?" Five argued. "I don't care about the past—we're here now, we can't change that."

"Unless…" Diego said under his breath.

"No unless!"

"Look, we're not suggesting that we stay with them, just take a peek behind the curtain. Haven't you ever wondered why the old man only got the seven of us?" Diego asked.

"I assumed because he ran out of airline miles," Klaus offered.

"Our father was a convincing man," Luther said quietly. "He convinced us of a lot of things."

"So who knows what he did to get us? Maybe our moms are dead."

"Vanya!" Allison shouted.

"What? I'm just being realistic. Reginald Hargreeves wasn't exactly a man with a strong moral code."

"Fine," Five conceded, throwing up his hands. "If it will get you all to stop asking about this, we'll go. But under my terms—"

"Here we go…" Klaus sighed, Ben putting his head in his hands in frustration.

"Let him finish!" Diego scolded.

"As I was saying," Five continued. "We'll do it, but we aren't going today, no, too messy. And honestly I don't exactly want to travel internationally with any of you."

"I'll have you know that Ben and I always bring great snacks and entertainment to our travels."

"We're going to jump through time," Five said.

"Because that's less messy!" Allison said jokingly. "Look at what happened the last time we trusted you to time warp us around."

"It's this or nothing," Five said.

"Maybe it's a good idea," Luther said. "We wouldn't be reopening old wounds. Just…visiting. Giving them some peace of mind, maybe. That we turned out okay."

"Did we?" Vanya asked quietly.

They all shrugged.

"Then it's settled," Five said. "So who's first?"
