I once said I wouldn't start human experiments without being one hundred percent sure it would work.

So I followed that old rule and made a mess of some bears.

First off I had the bears captured since their bodies are surprisingly close to humans. I had increased the size of different animal wings using a jutsu I'd created specifically for this project and began the surgical process of attaching them to the bears.

Of course reducing the weight of the bears was one of the main issues that had been easily fixed by shaving the bears and tattooing weight reducer seals to their bodies.

Needless to say it failed.

So I began again using only the wings that had a better chance of success, such as the bat wings and wings of feathered birds.

I started on younger bears and found that it had still failed.

For weeks I'd used different methods and eventually decided to create the creatures using the DNA of the bears and mixing them with the DNA of bats, birds or insects and getting them to grow from cells into creatures inside of tanks.

The mixture led to odd deformities so I immediately destroy the ugly beasts and try again.

The next method required me to go into the DNA and change the alleles that dealt with inheritance. After another week of nonstop study I had finally prepared the cells to fuse to begin again.

Finally I had received a young black furred bear with large black feathered eagle wings.

The rest hadn't been capable of flying, or had ended up with the bodies of winged creatures with bear legs. They were quickly destroyed.

I gave the successful bear to Fu to raise and began working with human DNA.

Unfortunately, all subjects had grown with deformities.

It always made me queasy to destroy human infants during these experiments.

However I had no trouble with these ones since they had the heads of dragon flies or bodies that looked like plucked chickens. They were burned to ash without remorse. Disgusting little failures.

I needed to return to the allele stage once more and rework them. Human DNA was far more complicated to work with since I needed to factor in so many different things that could be inherited inside the alleles. It had to do with the amount of chromosomes inside the bodies.

The mix just wasn't working properly.

Though it didn't take too long to fix the issue. The next issue was with the tanks.

These new creatures seemed to receive souls from the moment they were old enough to move. It was obvious in the way the young would twitch their limbs, and open their eyes.

They would then find ways to dislodge the tubes and drown. Sad, I know.

It was easily fixed by making the tubes attach to the belly button, but creating an umbilical cord realistic enough from plastics and metals was proving difficult.

So far only one had managed to work properly, but the process to create the material took far too long and wouldn't be practical in the long run.

I needed to impregnate a woman.

I shuddered at the implied meaning of that thought and shook it away vehemently.

"Utakata, could you bring me the women volunteers?" I asked the young man who had been following me around watching me as I performed my experiments with bright eyes and unwavering interest.

"Of course Orochimaru-sama." The Jinchuuriki bowed with respect before vanishing with a flicker to find the women.

I had found a variety of test subjects, but in the months of having them here I hadn't actually found a reason to use them yet. So I had put them to work.

The children volunteers were taught to garden from my clones and set to look after the gardens everyday, while the adult men were taught how to use various weapons to hunt for food in the forests. I had the women learn to cook from another clone and given the task of manning the kitchens.

Of course with there being more adult men in comparison to children and women, I had split their tasks.

I also had some men become something like maids. They were in charge of cleaning the castle and keeping the children fed and looked after. Though some of the women had to be taken from the kitchens to help train the men in child rearing.

As I waited for the women to enter the lab I went to the security screens in the corner of the room to see how everyone was doing.

The children were having a break and swimming in a river I'd created near the garden, while the jinchuuriki were all doing their own things.

Gaara was in the library making a mess using sand to get to the books that were higher than he could reach, his siblings were playing with the bear and Fu near the lake I'd created for Yagura.

Killer B and Yugito nii were challenging each other to different arcade games in the recreation rooms, Yagura seemed to be heading to the library, while Han and Roushi were at the hot springs on the floor below the throne room.

I looked away from the naked men as my face reddened slightly. This virgin body of mine was going to embarrass me one day.

I sighed and went to the tanks to look over the latest experiment with a frown. For now the baby was nothing more than a fetus, however you could see through the pale skin of the fetus that the wings were beginning to sprout.

The growth of the winged children had always been interesting to document.

Once the wings would began to form, the fetus would carefully maneuver them to wrap around their bodies protectively, hiding their development from view. Of course I had a radiation free x ray that took pictures whenever I needed them so it was no issue.

I just found the process of growth fascinating. Though perhaps the lack of hashirama's cells made the experiments prone to failure. I could always extract the cells from my own body to make it a success, but I found myself hesitant in creating my fairies with my own DNA since they would eventually grow to have my features.

Grey skin and slitted snake eyes.

It gave me a slight chill imaging a future where all the fairies had my basic features. It wasn't entirely because of my grey skin. Sure it was an odd feature of mine, but I'd never really disliked it. I just didn't want to share it with another creature that I wasn't going to claim as my own flesh and blood.

Plus, they would all be siblings of sorts, and wouldn't be able to procreate with each other to make another generation of fairies with how close their DNA matched.

I did not want the next generation to be created through the joining of siblings. The chances for mutations were too high.

No, I needed to create the fairies with DNA from various people.

I wondered how big they would grow to be, if their bodies would form according to the map I'd created in their genes, or somehow deform due to miscalculations.

I brought out a blank notebook from my wrist and began writing out my hypothesis for the experiments until the women finally arrived.

"I've brought the volunteers Orochimaru-sama." Utakata preened. Utakata's expression of wanting approval for his small deed pleased me greatly. It also reminded me sorely of Minato and Naruto.

I smiled softly at him and ruffled his perfectly styled brown hair and turned to the women.

I didn't see the look of pure adoration flash in Utakata's face due to my little hair ruffle.

There were four women, meaning the other seven had stayed behind to finish supper. It was good that they could think for themselves so well.

I would have forgotten that supper wouldn't be served if I'd taken all the women for the experiment in one go.

"Good, you four will do." I hummed as I went to the first volunteer.

She was a fairly average woman, with a 'board' like figure, and dull black hair. I recognized her right away and immediately noticed her appearance had improved since coming here. She appears to have put the advanced hygiene products to good use. Though her hair was still damaged from the years of not washing it properly. She could do with a hair cut and just using some of my hair growth serum.

"I'll get you to participate in this experiment first. To explain, I will be using your body as an incubator for a new species of humans called fae. Or fairies to be more specific. Besides the pain of the birthing process, the experiment is completely safe. However I'll be making sure you read through the parenting books I have in the library before the child can be born. Considering you'll be it's mother."

"Eh..?" The woman flushed. "I'm gonna be pregnant?"

"..yess.." I hesitated as I looked at her unexpectedly excited expression. I ignored it and turned away from her. "Come, I'll have you lay on the gurney here."

"Yes Orochimaru-sama!" The woman gushed as she skipped over to the gurney and hopped on happily. I frowned at the woman nervously before stepping around the gurney to lift her dress and remove her undergarments.

She could have done it herself of course, but my familiarity with handling naked bodies and dressing them before reviving them had made me forget that this wasn't normal for people who were alive and awake.

The woman squeaked as her face reddened before looking towards the other woman and covering her face with embarrassment.

Utakata was stunned silent.

"Did you want to be awake for this? I can make it painless." I asked as I turned to the counter and grabbed a tube of artificial semen. I had around ten different tubes with the altered DNA of different humans.

Of course the human DNA came from hair or skin follicles taken from the males volunteers in the castle. I had just used chakra to change the DNA into male reproductive cells. (Aka sperm)

My first batch of fairies would be quite average in looks, but they'd be fairies nonetheless.

"Awake, oh gods.." The woman said frantically. I looked back at her strangely before putting the semen inside a disposable syringe that looked like a turkey baster and turning around to set the tool on the small table beside the gurney.

"Very well." I hummed as I lifted her legs one by one onto the leg rests. "Please stop tensing your muscles, you should be relaxed for this."

"A-ah... y-yes Orochimaru-sama.." the woman stuttered. I glanced at her before focusing healing chakra into my hand and bringing it up to her abdomen to see if she was currently fertile.

She wasn't.

I carefully let my chakra seep into her body to bring out a couple eggs from her ovaries, while carefully altering the DNA inside them to make them easier to match with the altered DNA in the semen. It was a process that no one else could replicate without intrinsic knowledge of alleles in DNA. As well as complete chakra control and practice with changing the DNA in cells.

It was a delicate procedure that took less than a minute.

The whole time the woman was basically moaning in pleasure. I ignored her with a slight frown and continued on.

It didn't occur to me that she was experiencing pleasure from having my chakra practically caressing the inside of her womb and vaginal area.

The four people watching the process were confused by her reaction. Of course I was also confused, but I later realized that messing around with the womb in a woman with my chakra really tickled the nerves that caused pleasure. However it couldn't be avoided unless the subject chose to be asleep during the procedure.

After altering the eggs I picked up the baster and proceeded to insert it into her vagina with a slight blush on my cheeks. If only she'd chosen to be asleep for this, my virginity was affecting my ability to keep calm.

Curse my bisexual, virgin self.

It truly didn't help that she'd gasped and spasmed in response to my insertion of the baster. It wasn't all that huge after all.

Once the procedure was complete I set down the now empty baster and brought my hand to her abdomen to encourage the cells to merge and multiply.

After a few minutes I finished up and stood back. "The procedure is complete. There's a washing station behind the curtain over there. If you would wait until I finish with the other three women, I can explain more about what to expect for your pregnancy."

The woman was completely flushed, while looking intensely satisfied. I blinked at her as she shakily got up and staggered to the showering area of the lab. I felt partially disturbed and uncomfortably aroused.

I looked towards the next woman and beckoned her over. "Next."

The three women looked towards each other nervously before quickly deciding amongst each other who would go next. Utakata watched them argue with a roll of his eyes before going to the hammock I had set up and settling down on it with his legs crossed.

The procedures for the next three woman was made easier for me now that I was expecting their moans of pleasure. I politely ignored it and waited for the last one to be out of the washing station.

Once the four of them were done and lined up I looked at each of them with barely concealed excitement. The children should take the same amount of time to be born as regular children, however the waiting time did not diminish the excitement I felt for finally having my first batch of fairies for my kingdom.

"The four of you will be working together from now on to support each other through your pregnancies. I'll send a clone for you everyday to make sure you're eating well and educating yourselves in child rearing. As well as having an appropriate amount of exercise each day to keep your bodies healthy for the children. You'll be helping the children in the garden from now on to get some experience with looking after the young. Don't be doing anything too strenuous, since the four of you are still at risk for miscarriage."

I continued to give the four instructions on pregnancy that I'd remembered from my first life before sending them off with a clone to start their new duties.

Once the lab was free of the woman I pulled out a notebook to note down the procedure as well as the woman's reactions, names, and names of the fathers.

"So your a virgin." Utakata noted as he got up from the hammock to stand beside me.

"Yes?" I blinked curiously as I turned to look at him. I wasn't sure why he needed to clarify this, since we'd spoken about it once before. "Why?"

"You seemed pretty flustered earlier. With all those girls." Utakata shrugged as he put his hands in his sleeves. I wondered why the boy always needed to talk about these things with me before sighing with defeat.

"Indeed. I did not expect that reaction while using my chakra to alter the eggs in the womb. Next time I won't give the women the option to be awake for the procedure." I muttered as I put the notebook away and looked towards the next project I had lined up.

Mermaids.

~

Surprisingly creating mermaids proved to be less difficult than creating fairies. It was a procedure that could be done on humans within three weeks of study and experimentation on fish and rabbits. Though the resulting 'rabbit fish' was quite ugly. I took pictures and documented the procedure before immediately destroying the creature.

"Utakata, bring me three children." I asked as I finished killing the rabbit fish. Utakata immediately went to do as asked after a quick bow.

He appeared to be as excited as I was about this next experiment.

Once the children arrived I asked them if they wanted to become mermaids and the three immediately agreed with excited grins. So I took the three of them and sedated them properly.

I began the procedure.

The surgery required the subject to have the capability of breathing underwater, as well as above water, while having their skin altered to withstand underwater pressure as well as living underwater. The bodies also needed to be altered for speed. The organs in the body needed to be strengthened, and the legs needed to be fused with the fins of large underwater creatures such as sharks, dolphins, and an enlarged goldfish.

I also attached fins to the spines and opened new pathways in the brain to make the subject capable of feeling, and moving the fins.

Unfortunately I couldn't make the mermaids look exactly as they did in the movies from my previous life without making them incapable of reproduction. However with the way they were made, they would still have the capability of walking on land if they so desired. I just needed to make the fins retractable.

Though they wouldn't be able to stay above land for more than a few hours without drying out.

Of course if they did decide to reproduce once they grew up, I had made sure to alter the cells of the eggs or semen in the genitals so the children born from them would have the same qualities of the parent. That wasn't too difficult considering I'd only needed to 'copy and paste' the DNA into the reproductive cells.

The finished product was quite beautiful if I did say so myself. Though the one with the fins of the gold fish was far more beautiful than the other two.

I'd have to do the procedure with goldfish from now on.

The other two were still satisfactorily beautiful too. Though it couldn't be ignored that the plainness of their fins was quite the contrast with the colourful flowing fins of the goldfish mermaid.

I put the three children inside some tanks and hooked them up after doing some last minute healing to make sure the fins had merged properly with their bodies.

"Saiken suggested creating a hybrid slug." Utakata commented as he looked at the children in the tanks with sparkling eyes.

"Saiken wants a hybrid slug." I repeated with a disbelieving frown as I looked at the jinchuuriki. "That's the name of the Bijuu correct?"

Utakata nodded.

My mind quickly went to work on the idea before the resulting picture in my head made me shudder. "Perhaps I will attempt it another time." I lied awkwardly as I pulled out a notebook and began writing out my findings.

Utakata glanced at me strangely before shrugging.

The children would be ready to be placed in the lake by next week, though their diets would need to be changed to accommodate their new bodies. Basically the three will be required to eat raw fish.

Perhaps I'd even feed them slugs.

It had to do with keeping up the nutrients they needed for their bodies to grow properly with the fins. However I'd also be closely monitoring them and their food intake and experimenting on which meals are better suited to them.

This was a new species of humans after all. I needed to study them all thoroughly and see what I can do to improve them.

With two species done I proceeded to look at the list of creatures I still wanted to create for my kingdom. There were werewolves, shapeshifters, dragons, a few more bear eagles to keep the first one company since Fu had complained about the first one looking lonely.

I also needed to create 'octopus people' since Killer B really wanted octopus people for some odd reason, as well as centaurs for Han, monkey people for Roushi, slug people for Utakata (still not happening), and Cat people for Yugito Nii, other types of fairies rather than the original eagle winged fairies currently incubating in the women, and whatever else I think of after completing the current list.

I also needed to develop jutsu for each race that they can use as a part of their new culture. Then I'd need to teach each group about their species and what they can do and their new duties as a race for my kingdom.

It was unfortunate that wings couldn't be surgically added to grown humans since their bone structures were already developed in a manner that flying around with wings would be extremely uncomfortable, or basically impossible.

For now I decided to take a break and interact with the jinchuuriki. I needed to develop the relationships between myself and them after all.

"Saiken suggested starting on slug people next."

"Tell Saiken to shove it." I hissed as I turned away to go and check on Gaara. Utakata was two steps behind me.

"Saiken doesn't know where to shove it."
