MITSUKI POV

Fridays are always the best. It's the end of the work week and I get to spend the weekend with my family. As chaotic as this family can be we have our tradition of family meals on Friday. Each week the meal changes but it never fails to put a smile on my face to see my family together. I look to the clock as I'm in the kitchen, It's almost five. I go back to my cooking when I hear the door start to open.

"I'm home old hag."

"Ah Katsuki it's about time you get home I thought you were going to be late."

"Yeah whatever. When's the food gonna be ready?" He starts making his way to the stairs.

"In a couple hours I just started." I turn back to the counter. "Hey Katsuki, what do you think Izuku is doing tonight?"

I hear him come to stop. "Why the hell should I care what he does?"

"Well he is your friend?" I turn to face him

"Whatever. Also he's going to some music night or something."

"Oh music night. Sounds like he's gonna have fun on his date then." I give a little smirk and start to chuckle.

"What the hell do you mean date? That damn nerd can barely talk to us, what makes you think he has a date?"

"Well when I called him yesterday he said he was with a friend. And from the sounds of his reactions I'm sure it was a girl."

"Like hell it is!"

"Ah is my little Katsuki jealous that Izukus is going to have a girlfriend before you?"

"I could never be jealous of a quirkless loser like him." He started to make his way up the stairs.

I sigh to myself as I go back to cutting vegetables. "Why doesn't Izuku tell people about his quirk?"

Dinner was almost ready just, it just needed a little longer to cook. I look to the living room and see Masura watching the news. "I love these little quiet moments." As I stood their taking in the moment my phone started to go off. "Damn why did it have to ruin the moment?"

"Hello?"

"Hi is this Mitsuki Bakugo?"

"Yes, who is this?"

"My name is Chiho. I'm a receptionist at Dagobah General hospital." In an instant my happy Friday had turned into my worst nightmare. "I'm calling because you're listed as Izuku Midoriya's emergency contact."

"What happened!"

"I'm sorry I don't know all the details but he was brought in and is still unconscious. It seemed as if he was mugged. But he is stable and will be released tomorrow."

"Oh thank God. Is it alright if I come?"

"Of course but if possible could you bring a change of clothes. His aren't exactly able to be worn."

"Of course course thank you."

I dropped my phone and nearly collapsed. As I was trying to regain my composure I heard Masaru walking up to me.

"Is everything alright Mitsuki?" He grabbed me by the shoulders.

I put a hand on his hand and shook my head. "Izuku's in the hospital. I have to go check on him."

"We'll all go. I'll go get Katsuki." He starts to make his way towards the stairs.

"No you two stay here." I grab my phone and start to make my way to the door.

"Mitsuki but why?"

"You know why."

I can hear Masaru walk towards me. He takes my hand and squeezes it.

"You really think he's still doing that again?"

"I don't think he ever stopped but I could never find any proof." I let go of his hand as I made my way out of the door.

I was driving towards Izuku's house trying to not panic as to what I was going to see when I arrived. "God why did it have to be him?" Speeding down the streets I couldn't help but think back to the day I got a call from the school about how he passed out. I could still see him in that bad as if it were right in front me. He looked peaceful but his arms were covered in scars. I couldn't believe that the nurse at the school acted as if it was nothing. After I found out that the school didn't care that he was harming himself I seriously debated having him switch schools. I knew I couldn't do that though. I'm sure it would be worse for him at a new school. Even though his current school didn't care about him at least Katsuki was able to keep an eye on him. The drive to his house was a short 15 minute drive but it felt like it took hours. I had just parked and was about to get out of the car when my phone went off again.

"Hello."

"Hey…"

"Izuku are you alright!"

"Yeah…. I'll be fine….. Just sore."

"I'll be there shortly. I'm at your apartment."

"You don't have to come, I'm fine I promise."

"Izuku I'm coming and besides I know you'll need a change of clothes."

"Alright…. could you grab my black hoodie atleast and my charger too?"

"Of course I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Alright…. thank you."

"It's no problem. I'm just glad you're ok."

I heard the phone click. He had hung up. I took a deep breath and rested my head on the wheel. "Thank you God. Thank you for letting him be alright." I sat in the car for a few more minutes as I cried.

IZUKU POV

I leaned back and let out a long sigh. "God that went better than I expected." I stared at the note in my hand and unlocked my phone again. I took another deep breath as I hit call.

"Hello."

I didn't recognize the voice. It was a woman but her voice was calm. "Hi it's Midoriya."

"Midoriya? Hmmm I don't know anyone by that name."

"Oh I'm sorry I must have been given the wrong number then."

"Oh no you misunderstood I don't know anyone by that name but my daughter told me to watch the phone. But she wouldn't tell me why."

"Oh… I'm sorry…."

"It's ok just give me a moment I'll go get her."

"Oh… thank you."

"Kyoka, your boyfriend Midoriya is on the phone."

"Boyfriend, Where did that come from?" I stared at my phone in disbelief before speaking up. "Um I'm not her boyfriend… we barely know each other."

"Oh I know that I just enjoy teasing her. Plus her father freaks out as well."

"..."

"Is everything alright?"

"Yeah.. I just remember learning that one the hard way."

"...What do you mean by that?"

The woman's tone had changed into a stern one that seemed to be filled with anger. "Well…"

Before I could answer I could hear muffled voices on the other side alongside some muffled yelling and a scuffle over the phone.

"Hey kid sorry about my wife. We haven't explained the situation to her fully about what happened tonight."

"Oh no… it's alright Mr. Jirou. I just was confused as to what was happening."

"It's fine, also call me Kyotoku. By the way you called probably at the worst time. We finally convinced Kyoka to go take a shower."

"Sorry…"

"No need to apologize I'm sure she'll be down in a minute. But how are you feeling kid?"

"I'm sore and I have some burns but other than that I'll be fine. I'll be released tomorrow."

"That's good to hear. Hey kid why don't you come over tomorrow for dinner?"

"I would like to but tomorrow won't be good. I'm sure I'll be busy with questions from…. family…."

"Ah ok I understand."

"B..but Sunday would work if that works for you guys."

"Yeah that will work. I'll pick you up at the music store Sunday at five."

"Alright."

"Also don't tell Kyoka this will be a surprise for her."

"Yes sir."

"Speak of the devil sounds like she's coming down the stairs now."

I took a deep breath. "I… uh… I…"

"Relax kid it will be alright."

"I… I…. I'm trying."

I can hear another muffled conversations over the phone. My heart races as I don't know what to expect. I had just talked to her mother and father. Any confidence I had was gone. I sat there quietly for what seemed like forever until I heard a voice come over the phone.

"Hey… is it really you Midoriya?"

Her voice was soft as if she was almost on the verge of tears. "Yeah it's really me."

"Oh thank God I was so worried."

"Yeah… sorry about that."

"What are you apologizing for? It's not like you did that on purpose."

"I'm sorry. It's kind of a habit. Gotta love that anxiety." I gave a small chuckle.

"Yeah… so how are you feeling?"

"I'm sore but I'll be out of here by tomorrow."

"That's great, I'm glad it's nothing too serious."

"You and me both. But I'm sure tomorrow is going to be hell."

"Haha yeah probably…"

"Hey Jirou can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah."

"What…. what all did you see while here?" I could hear her breathing shake after the question as she took a few breaths.

"I… well… I saw the burns on your chest. They looked really bad."

"Yeah… they're third degree so I'll have some scarring."

"Oh…"

"Did you see anything else?" I heard her gulp as she stayed quiet.

"..."

"Jirou did you see anything else?"

"Yeah…"

"Wh… what was it?"

"Your arms.."

I let out a sigh. "Fuck."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault it's not like you came and inspected my body while I was sleeping."

"That's not why I'm sorry.."

"What are you talking about?"

"Midoriya… are you really ok?"

"Yeah. That's all in the past."

….

"Everything alright Jirou?"

….

"Jirou?"

"Izuku please… please be alright."

"Woah Jirou wh… where did that come from?"

"Answer the question…. please."

"I'm alright Jirou."

"Promise me Izuku. Promise me that you'll be alright."

"... I promise."

"Thank you… Also I'm sorry about using your first name. I just wanted you to know how serious I was."

"It.. it's alright don't worry about it.

We stayed quiet for a few minutes. We both didn't know what to say. Finally she broke the silence. Her voice was still quiet and shaky.

"Do you know what time you're gonna be let go tomorrow?"

"They said sometime in the morning but I'm not exactly sure."

"Alright…. could you call me and let me know when you get home tomorrow?"

"Ummm.."

Before I could finish my answer the door opened up and Auntie Mitsuki walked in nearly screaming. "Izuku how are you feeling…. why are you on the phone?"

"A..Auntie Mitsuki y.. you got her faster than I expected."

"What do you expect when I get a call saying you're in the hospital. Now who are you on the phone with?"

"I'm sorry and it's my friend. I was calling to apologize for not being able to make it to the event tonight."

"Oh sorry I didn't mean to interrupt you and your girlfriend. I'll give you a minute." She left the room giving me a smile.

"She's not my gi..girlfriend!" I let out a sigh as I went back to the phone. "Sorry about that. How much did you hear?"

"Enough." Her voice finally picked back up. "So I'm your girlfriend now. Thanks for letting me know about this." She giggled a little.

"Sorry she gets over excited easily and can jump to conclusions. Honestly I haven't even told her that you're a girl. I've only referred to you as a friend."

"Wow I feel so special to be known as 'friend'."

"It.. it's not like that."

"I know I'm just teasing you."

"Oh.. sorry."

"So your aunt came to visit, that's nice of her."

"Yeah.. I should probably go. I don't want to keep her waiting. I'll call you when I get home tomorrow Jirou."

"Alright. Goodnight Midoriya and thank you."

"Goodnight." I hang up the phone before taking a deep breath to prepare for the onslaught of questions that are about to come. "You can come in now, you don't have to keep your ear to the door anymore."

The door quickly opened as Mitsuki walked in and closed the door. "So she's not your girlfriend but you're gonna call her tomorrow."

"It's not like that… honestly how could you even say stuff like that when I didn't even tell you she was a girl?"

She came and sat on the edge of the bed. "Call it woman's intuition." She gave me a smile before looking me up and down. "So how are you feeling Izuku?"

"I'm fine I'll be sore for a couple days but I'll be fine." I gave her a smile.

She looked down and saw the scars on my arms. "What happened Izuku?"

I spent the better part of the next 30 minutes explaining what had happened. I made sure to leave out that it was Kacchan who did this to me. After I finished the story we sat in silence until a nurse walked in.

"Hello I'm sorry to interrupt but I need to clean and change the dressing on the burns."

I flinched as auntie Mitsukis eyes darted towards me. "What is she talking about Izuku?"

"Oh.. Um… did I not mention that? Ha...ha…"

"No.. you seemed to leave that part out."

I scooted to the edge of the bed next to auntie Mitsuki and the nurse helped me out of the hospital gown. We both looked down to see my chest wrapped in layers of gauze. The nurse began to unwrap it and stopped before she pulled the last pieces off. "Alright this might sting a little sense the skin is still tinder."

I nodded and looked back down. "If it makes you feel any better this is going to be the first time I see what it looks like."

I received a quick smack to the back of my head. "No it doesn't dumb ass."

"Haha... I know." I winced in pain as the last few layers were pulled off. I looked down to see the burn in the center of my chest. "Damn…"

I felt auntie Mitsuki wrap an arm around me and she put her head onto mine. I could hear her sniffe into my hair. Even though I couldn't see it I knew she was crying. The scar on my chest looked like it was an eight pronged star. It wasn't small; it took up the majority of my chest. The nurse grabbed new gauze and started to wrap me back up. "It goes without saying but this is going to scar. When it does scar it will get a little smaller. That being said if it was any worse you would have needed a skin graph."

I looked up and nodded at the nurse. "Well looks like I have another one to add to the collection." I look back to the nurse. "Will the scar look roughly the same as it does now." She just gave me a nod before she made her way out of the door. After she left I sighed. "Well at least this one looks cool." I start to laugh as auntie Mitsuki tightens her grip on my neck as she continues to cry into my hair.
