"It's quite simple really," Nyx replies. "I want you to be the father of my next child!"
PERCY p.o.v
I just stood there like an idiot. Reyna on the other hand...
"Are you crazy?! I don't care if your a primordial, there is no way in Pluto Percy is sleepi-mph!" A gag made of shadows suddenly covered her mouth. Seeing Reyna like that suddenly snapped me out of my trance.
"Hey!" I shout "let her go!" She turns to me and laughs.
"I already told you what you have to do if you want to get out of here alive Perseus." She says.
A plan starts forming in my head, it's probably not going to work but I don't have much choice...
"Ok." I say. "I'll do it" She seemed surprised and Reyna looked mortified, glancing at her our eyes met and I tried to give a reassuring look. Hopefully she understood.
"Well, I'd be lying if I said I'm not surprised but let's be honest, no mortal can resist me!" Nyx exlames. Wow, big headed much? "Anyway, let's get started then."
She snaps her finger and all of us appear inside what can only be the mansion of Night, Reyna was on the floor still gagged and tied up. It was now or never.
"Uhh... could you maybe turn around while I get ready?" I ask her, she gives me an annoyed look.
"Does it matter? I will end up seeing everything anyway." She says with a smirk.
"Well... yes, but wouldn't it be better if its a surprise?" I ask hopefully.
"Hmm, very well. I suppose it will be more intriguing." She says turning around.
Taking the chance I make my way over to Reyna and untie her, when she understands what i'm doing she gives me a look that says 'you better explain yourself later'. We start running to the door at the end of the long hallway, we make it about half way before a scream of rage reached my ears. Nyx had figured out my plan.
We got to the door and opened it, on the other side was what can only be described as pure darkness. I have never been scared of the dark, but this, it wasn't the kind of darkness you see at night. No, it pulled you towards it like a black hole.
I was about to turn back but then I remembered the reason I was here in the first place, she was beside me also looking skeptically at the darkness. I knew what I had to do.
Grabbing Reyna's hand I looked at her and smiled, she seemed to understand and smiled to. I turn my head and gaze at the endless darkness before me, the person I love the most at my side, and jumped.
My heart slowed down to the point I thought it stopped, did it really matter if it did? The chances of surviving this fall were so slim I'm practically a dead man.
Just when I thought I would never get to the bottom my feet hit solid floor. Pain shot up my legs, but I stumbled forward and broke into a run,hauling Reyna after me.
In the distance ahead of us, I began to hear a throbbing sound, like my own heartbeatechoing back, amplified so powerfully the floor vibrated underfoot. The sound filled me with dread,so I figured it must be the right way to go. I ran towards it.
As the beat got louder, I smelled smoke and heard the flickering of torches on either side. Iguessed there would be light, but a crawling sensation across my neck warned me it would be amistake to open my eyes.
"Don't look," I tell Reyna.
"Wasn't planning on it," She says.
We kept running until I smacked head first into a wall. I could feel hot liquid running down my face, probably blood.
"Percy?!" Reyna's voice echoed through the darkness. "What happened? Are you ok?"
"I'm good" I tell her "I think we reached the end, there seems to be a wall in front of us."
"Faex," She mutters "what do we do?"
"I'm going to have to open my eyes." I say.
"But-" She starts but I pull her into an embrace before she can finish.
"I'll be ok" I reassure her. "I think it's safe now"
There was silence, I was about to ask if she was ok when I felt something soft on my lips. Even after being down here for gods knows how long I could still taste the cinnamon on her. Eventually, not even close to how long I would of liked to stay like that she pulled away.
"Be safe." She whispers. I kiss her one more time and open my eyes.
