Chapter 10

Yuki was back at the lab.

His sole purpose was to track down the damn probe and see if he could hack into it. He has been working on this along side Emp who speaks with him on a private channel. Today happened to be a day of collaboration. "I have discovered it among the other satellite's within orbit, however the thing it small and tricky…" he explained.

"I know, I've been trying to track it down too, half the time when I lock on the signal it disappears before I even know it."

The two have worked hard in trying to discover the thing's origins, in hopes of stopping it from doing whatever its intended for. Yet, despite their computers, typing and hacking skills. Neither one has come close to catching it. "I am going to try and do another scan. Wanna back me up on this Emp?"

"Like you have to ask!"

It would be their fifth attempt that day, Yuki was the closest out of the two since he has alien technology in his lab thanks to Alley. He was just catching it once more, getting a signal and was about to attempt a hack when it happened. "What the hell…" he muttered.

"I got it too! What is this!?"

"It's… debris. Alien metal debris! SON OF A BITCH!" He shouted in anger. "The bastard must have known there would be others looking into this thing… it's launched shards of alien metal to throw us off!"

Emp went silent. "So, now, if we get a hit… it could just be alien scrap metal?" he asked.

"Yeah… my tech is good, but it won't distinguish between the probe and junk… Damn it all! If we had locked on to the signal and tried to blow it out of orbit…"

Emp sighed out, sounding just as frustrated as Yuki. "This person keeps being one step ahead… we can't find it now until we take everything out of orbit!"

"That would cause a panic to say the least. Lost of TV, satellite, cell phone service… Shit!" he cursed. "Alien metal isn't magnetic to anything of this world either…"

"Alley told me that too, not to mention her uncles tried to use fridge magnets on themselves believing it will make them feel drunk of they did…"

"Since when…"

"Don't ask, it was a while ago, and they were board." Emp explained. He paused and sighed aloud. "Have you done any tests on perhaps making the metal magnetic? Despite the fact that we don't have something on Earth, perhaps Alley may have an idea?"

"I will ask her the moment she's free. She's been rather busy as of late. Genos was just upgraded and she is now assisting Electra Max on her political campaign."

"Electra Max?"

"Lightning Max's sister… she's going to run against Ubet!" Yuki explained.

Emp was silent. "Thank God!" he said aloud. "He was going unopposed for so long, I was worried he would get in!"

"Well, we got to do our part to help her along. Are the Neo Heroes backing Ubet?"

Emp blew it off. "A lot are, but not me. He wants to take out your family. The data speaks for itself, you guys are not he cause of the attacks, in fact, you guys are the reason why we are able to survive a lot better!" he explained. "But Yuki, keep a close eye on this. Alley had told me before she was worried about something coming down soon enough… be on your toes!"

"I will, thanks Emp."

"Good luck and call me if you need more help or have made progress!" With that Emp hung up. Yuki sighed aloud to it all. Matters are getting complicated. "Perhaps I will need to speak with Alley about this…" he thought aloud.
