Randy sat on the couch waiting for Shadow to come out of his room for the bachelor party. Randy knew Shadow wasn't looking forward to the shared outing, but the thing the loner hedgehog didn't seem to understand was Randy was looking forward too it just as little as the man it was being thrown for. Randy had picked one of his favorite bars, that was an hour drive north. He had been sober just over a year, but still found himself a little on edge about entering such an establishment again. This would be the first time he'd been back to a bar since the last night he was arrested. He knew he'd stay sober, as he was Shadow's ride there and back, but he knew he was putting himself in a position to get tempted and it would likely end up driving him crazy all night and many more nights to come.

"Come on, Shadow!" Randy yelled in irritation. "Let's get this shit show over with…" He mumbled the last bit under his breath.

"If it's such a shit show you only have yourself to blame." The black hedgehog grumbled at Randy as he entered the room with his light jacket draped over his forearm. "It was You, who set this torture session up, after all."

"Only the best fer you, darling!" Randy stood up and then flipped the other man off as he walked to the door and grabbed some keys while Shadow followed behind him to one of Dean's many trucks.

"Your father isn't coming?" Shadow questioned, but secretly was extremely relieved.

The two men got in the red extended cab truck. Randy took the drivers seat while Shadow took the front passenger's seat. Randy started up the truck and laughed amazed at the other man's question. "Hell, no! I've only been ta one bachelor party where the bride's father was there, but that fella is a total freak."

"Why am I not surprised you hang around freaks?" Shadow questioned out loud as Randy turned the truck around and pulled out onto the empty highway. The moon shined into the truck from the rear window as they made their way towards the closest city.

"Well, yer marring mah sister, so I guess that makes you one of the many freaks I know." Randy smiled proudly at causing the other man to grunt in disapproval of his last statement. If there was one thing the male squirrel liked about Shadow than it was how easy he was to piss off, and the fact he couldn't do much in retaliation because of his relationship with Sandy.

The two brother-in-laws barely talked during the drive to Shadow's party. Randy did put on some music and sang along in an overly exaggerated manor in an attempt, Shadow believed, that was to annoy him.

As Randy pulled the vehicle into a parking space at the large bar, while Shadow had finally had more than his fill of being in close quarters to the other male. Shadow being even more irritated with Randy than usual ended up let his harsh words slip out. "Well, I guess we both now know why Mei doesn't want anyone knowing about the two of you." Before Shadow had time to exit the car Randy's historical laughing made him stop from pulling up on the door lever.

"Oh please!" Randy started still laughing. "We both know it's cause I'm a loser." He grinned at Shadow now seeming to find no sorrow in the truth.

"Guess you better find yourself another loser." Shadow suggested as he opened the door and started to get out.

The older male stopped as Randy spoke again. "If things were really always like that than someone like you would have never found themselves with mah sister. I ain't gonna give up so easy neither." Randy then tuned off the parked car and unbuckled himself before exiting the truck himself.

Shadow felt a bit uncomfortable from the squirrel's words. His brother-in-law was right, as Sandy was far too good for him. It was one of the reasons he got so jealous and worried about her constant interactions with others. He was hoping after they finally made love he'd calm down about things, but he knew that was a lie. He'd always be worried and fearful, as she could have anyone… even if she didn't realize it.

Shadow hated it when Randy showed that he wasn't a complete dumbass and even outsmarted him at times… It was almost like he was a lost eccentric male version of his sister, and the only way he could keep from being overwhelmed with what intellect he had was excessive intoxication, and thus giving ways to moments of enlighten sobriety.

"Let's get this over with." Shadow groaned.

"Please!" Randy agreed as the two made their way into the bar to meet the other men waiting for the man of the hour to join them.
