We'll Stay Together Until Night Falls
We were finally out...we were free.
"Hey guys, were just coming for a wee visit" Harry said making me laugh before we started to walk forward but Jay and Carlos blocked their path and they all started bumping into each other which accidentally knocked Carlos into Mal and she dropped the ember.
"Hey, hey!" she exclaimed reaching for it but Harry used his hook to knock her hand and I watched in horror as the ember fell out of her hand.
"No!" I exclaimed running to the edge only to feel Harry's hook wrap around my wrist stopping me and I watched the ember go flying through the air slowly falling towards the ocean below but a teal tentacle shot out and caught it before it landed in the water before Uma followed with a sea crown on her head.
"Drop something?" she asked laughing.
"It can't get wet!" Mal and I yelled out at the same time.
"Give it back before it goes out" Mal added holding out her hand for it and Uma just laughed.
"Uma!" Harry and Gil called out.
"That's my name" Uma smirked waving before going under the water and my eyes widened before a whirlwind of water rose up before breaking and I hid behind Harry since I can't get wet any more than that ember can especially now I had access to my powers. "Hi guys" we all spun seeing Uma behind us holding the lit ember still and I breathed out in relief before Harry, Gil and I all laughed and went over to her.
"Welcome back" Harry laughed before I hugged her since it was still really god to see her and I'd missed tearing up the Isle together but don't get me wrong the past couple of weeks with just me and Hook has been amazing.
"Uma you swam off and forgot all about us" Gil said and I frowned since I'd put that thought in his head.
"Yeah planning her revenge no doubt" Mal spat arms crossed over her chest as she glared at Uma.
"It's not all about you Mal" Uma argued walking towards her. "I was looking for a hole in the barrier to let everybody out" she added nodding back at the island. "And you know what I found guys?" she turned to us. "It's way better out there then we thought, there's this funny thing that looks like a furry rock called a coconut and fish so big you could dance on their back and they've been keeping it all to themselves"
"Whatever...Uma I need that to break a spell" Mal argued holding out her hand for Uma to hand over the ember.
"Cast by Audrey sleeping beauty's daughter" Carlos added and I frowned since I hadn't really cared about the details earlier but that made no sense.
"So the good guy is the bad guy?" I asked before laughing.
"Well I might not give it back, let's see what happens" Uma added laughing as well.
"Uma it's not the time for games people's lives are in danger!" Mal exclaimed.
"Guarantee me that every single villain kid who wants to can get off the Isle?" Uma shot back.
"I can't do that" Mal protested.
"...'can't do that'..." Uma walked over to the side of the bridge and held the ember over the side. "How about now?"
"Deal, deal" Mal spat and I let out a breath, that was my Dad's most single prized possession and mine too but my heart jumped when Uma pretended to drop it.
"Uma...her word is good" Evie cut in and Uma pulled the ember away from the side and looked at it.
"We'll still keep this for the time being especially considering it's Hadley's anyway" Uma replied and handed me the ember and I smirked feeling the power radiate through me again as my hair lit up. "Because if you think we trust you to save the world on your own..." she scoffed.
"Think again" I finished quelling the flames pulling a thin piece of leather from Harry's net deco thing over his shirt ignoring his glares and used it to create a necklace strap which held the ember perfectly once I'd wrapped it around it securing it around my neck.
"This is a job for pirates!" Uma exclaimed and we all laughed our agreeance high fiving.
"We can always go back to hating each other afterwards" we heard Jay whisper to Mal.
"Fine" she spat not looking at us.
"Where are our bikes?" Jay asked.
"Oh yeah we crashed them" Gil replied honestly as Harry and I smirked imitating engine noises then whistling signaling we'd sent them off the cliffs followed by a crash then laughed and fist bumped.
"Here's a thought" Evie spoke up stepping between our two crews. "We could try to be friends, put our history behind us and celebrate our differences" we all stared at her. "Yeah?" I raised an eye cause she couldn't be serious. "Who wants gum?" she asked.
"Let's go" Uma and I both said and started to walk.
"No?" Evie pressed still rattling her bag of...gum.
"Ah!" Mal called stopping Uma and I. "No I'm in charge" she argued making me glare at her since she wasn't Queen yet. "Let's go" she added and I rolled my eyes before we all started walking across the magical bridge and I couldn't help the skip in my step.
"So yer a goddess now heh?" Harry asked as we walked and I turned to him beside me.
"I've always been a goddess Hook" I argued shaking my head with a laugh.
"But yer truly are a Hothead now" I scoffed and glared at him.
"Ya better watch it" I smirked bringing up a flame in my hand and raised it to his face making his lean away from it before I laughed and closed my fist. "We wouldn't want to damage that pretty face Hook, it's all you have going for you" I added hearing Uma laugh in front of us before I skipped ahead.
"So you and Harry huh?" she asked and I frowned.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Come on Hads, it's totally obvious" she whispered and I frowned turning to look over my shoulder at Harry.
"I have no idea what you're talking about" I argued and she just smirked at me making me roll my eyes.
"It's about time you two realized it for yourselves" she said just before we made it to the other side of the bridge and continued to follow the others but all of us were staring around in amazement at how bright...green...natural everything looked.
"They're asleep" Evie pointed out looking around and the various people all passed out in their chairs. "Everyone"
"I can't get Ben" Mal spoke up lowering her phone from her ear.
"Or Dizzy or Doug" Evie added checking her own phone.
"Or Jane the signals out" I scoffed since who cares, the rest of us have never had phones or...a signal whatever that meant our entire lives.
"Is that Auradon Prep?" Celica asked pointing up at the building behind us.
"Yeah, when everyone wakes up you're gonna love it" Carlos replied.
"Yes!" Celica said and I smiled at her before looking back at Auradon Prep since it was way bigger then it looked on TV and even I had to admit it was impressive.
"Everything is so..."
"Freaky" Jay said cutting Gil off and I turned to them.
"Green" Gil said instead and Jay gave him a strange look. "You have leaves on your trees and what are those colored things on the bushes?" Gil asked him pointing over at the bushes.
"Uh...flowers?" Jay asked confused and I rolled my eyes since these four obviously didn't even remember what it was like to live on that Isle.
"Flowers are pretty " Gil replied excitedly and I laughed. "Cantaloupe...mm!" Gil suddenly exclaimed and grabbed a bowl of fruit off the table and started eating it and Jay moved to stop him making me roll my eyes.
"We don't have any fresh fruit on the Isle remember?" I spat at him and he looked back at Gil who was still stuffing his face.
"They're grapes" Jay explained with a sigh clearly letting it slide.
"Grapes?" Gil repeated as if memorizing it. "I love grapes" he added and I smiled before walking over to where Harry was seeing him digging through some kids pocket and pulled out a wallet.
"I believe I deserve some compensation for my muscles, my wile and my role in this endeavor" he said taking all the cash out of it as I scoffed.
"Don't forget your ego" I added and he smirked at me.
"You do" Jay spat snatching the cash out of his hand. "Me not squashing you like a bug" he added putting the cash into the kids shirt pocket while Harry laughed and threw the wallet onto the table.
"Think I'm scared of you Jay?" Harry asked pointing his hook threateningly at Jay's face.
"Guys!" Uma and Mal both yelled out while I just rolled my eyes quite happy to let Harry knock Jay down a few pegs and watched as Jay stormed off so I walked over to Harry and slyly stole the cash back and slipped it into Harry's pocket with a wink before I walked away since Jay wasn't watching what I was doing like a hawk.
"Dude!" Carlos suddenly yelled out and we all turned to him seeing him talking to that dog that could talk when they tricked us with the phony wand.
"Delicious!" the dog said burping.
"Dude really?" Carlos asked him and I guessed the dog's name was dude.
"What it wasn't me I swear?!" Dude exclaimed. "Okay it was me" it quickly added and I couldn't help laugh.
"Hey do you know what happened here?" Carlos asked him.
"Yup... Audrey showed up, she put everybody to sleep and then she turned some of them to..."
"Guys!' Evie called cutting the dog off. "Hannah's turned to stone" we turned and saw a stone statue which by Evie saying a name I took it as it was an actual person and scoffed since did this Audrey person think she's Medusa.
"Alright everybody stay on their toes" Jay spoke up as we all went over to look at it closer.
"Look since were here let's check the school" Uma spoke up and our crew started walking towards it.
"No" Mal spoke up making us stop. "Audrey went straight for the crown so I think it's safe to assume that she's gonna go for Ben and his castle next, that's where we'll go"
"Says who?" I scoffed stepping up to face her.
"Says me" she argued stepping up towards me as well.
"..'Says you' and that's supposed to mean something to us?" I spat at her since who in the hell did she think she is.
"Guys" Evie called out making Mal and I both turn to look at her.
"To the castle" Mal said without argument, I turned to Uma and she just shook her head so we followed Mal with me glaring at her back the whole way to Beast Castle. "Ben!" Mal called out once we were inside and I wanted to scoff since this castle was bigger than the entire Isle.
"Ha ha this way!" Dude the dog called out in the lead.
"Ben could be asleep anywhere" Mal complained.
"Or turned to stone" Celica added and Evie covered her mouth since she wasn't helping Mal's panic...not that I cared since it was fun to watch.
"Ben!" Mal yelled out again and I rolled my eyes as clearly that wasn't working and Ben wasn't even here.
"I got his scent, very pungent cologne" Dude said sitting at the other end of the hall. "Easy to track, follow me people"
"That's great Dude" Jay said.
"FYI I give great cuddles too" Dude added.
"Really?" Gil asked making me smile but I turned to Harry since he was great at cuddles...whoa what the hell I shook those thoughts away. "I never had a pet growing up well except for the elk head in Dad's man cave but that wasn't-"
"Hold up!" Uma called cutting Gil off. "What's this?" she asked pointing at the claw marks scratched in the wall.
"Uh...any chance this was already there?" Carlos asked looking back at Mal.
"And follow me!" Dude called out taking off down another hallway so we followed him into a room full of armor with Mal continuously calling out Ben's name really getting on my nerves since clearly the King was asleep somewhere if he wasn't answering her.
"Stay here okay?" Evie told Celica who stood by the door as we all walked further into the room but the King wasn't here.
"I can feel you looking" I heard Harry say and saw Jay standing behind him watching his every move as Harry ran his finger over one of the suits sword edge.
"Good" Jay spat at him and I rolled my eyes.
"So you can track, cuddle and talk" Gil spoke patting Dude. "Hey do you think his puppies would be able to talk too?" he asked looking back at Carlos.
"Alright man he's taken, you want a dog adopt a rescue" Carlos replied and Dude laughed.
"Talking puppies, that's crazy" I raised an eye.
"Says the talking dog" I remarked.
"I bet you lost some sleep thinking about me on the loose?" Uma spoke up making me turn and walk over to where she stood with Mal.
"No dragons don't really lose sleep" Mal argued and I shook my head. "I wonder what fried octopus tastes like?" I raised an eye towards Mal before I turned feeling a hand slip into mine and smiled at Hook beside me as he smirked back.
"Okay why don't we not do this?" Evie protested.
"We're celebrating our differences" Uma argued right as the suit of armor in front of us moved and Harry and I shared a look making sure we both saw that.
"I believe were being challenged" Harry spoke up trying to get Uma's attention but she held her hand up at him.
"Lets split up and look for Audrey"
"That makes absolutely no sense, unless you give me my ember she's going to spell you" Mal argued and I turned to glare at her.
"It's my ember" I spat at her.
"GIRLS!" Harry exclaimed and I turned to him only to see him looking at the suit of armor again as it continued to move meaning it wasn't a figment of our insanity. "We have a situation here"
"Do you like a prince Mal?" a girls voice I'm guessing Audrey's spoke as the suit moved and we all started backing away from it. "How about a knight in shining armor or knights?" soon all the suits were moving.
"Watch your back, watch your back, Watch your back, watch your back" we all started singing backing up into the center of the room as the suits all jumped down off their pedestals. "We can counter their attacks, hit 'em till the armor cracks" we all made a break for the exit only to cut cut off by two suits blocking the exit.
"This could get a little sticky" Uma sang getting up on the center platform and pointed to the swords on the wall so Gil ran over and pulled two off handing one to Uma while Harry got two off the opposite wall and tossed me one making me smile. "How to win this battle could be tricky but I know the best way, fall back let me lead you hold the line and we'll bring them to their knees"
"Swords in the air if your with me!" Mal sang and the others all raised their swords. "They got us outnumbered one to fifty, the victory is ours because I've got a strategy you take the left and the rest of you can follow me" I glared at her since there was no way I was taking orders from her.
"Uh-uh" I spat jumping up grabbing her arm.
"This is my crew" she complained.
"This is our squad" I spat back at her pointing between me and Uma since she didn't control us or the boys.
"This is my turf" she argued.
"Oh my gosh, look guys we got bigger fish to fry put your differences aside 'cause right now were on the same side" Evie cut in pointing at the armor battalion surrounding us. "Till the night falls...everyone-"
"We'll stay together until the battle is won" we all sang with Mal and I sharing glares before we went on the defense clashing swords with the armors swords as they attacked us. "Watch your back, watch your back, Watch your back, watch your back, we can counter their attacks, hit 'em till the armor cracks...until the night falls were aligned it doesn't mean that were on the same side" we all sang getting pushed down by the suits swords before pushing back and spinning around. "Watch your back, watch your back, Watch your back, watch your back, hit 'em hard and hit 'em fast they're too heavy to react"
"This situation's getting kinda heavy, hold your weapons tight keep 'em steady 'cause if we stick together we can make it out alive, I will cause a distraction you attack them from the side" Mal sang while her and Uma teamed up against two suits while we dealt with the rest, I swung my sword clashing with one before I felt a hand wrap around my wrist and pull me out of the way of a sword coming down right at me and smiled over at Harry.
"All my soldiers stand at the ready we can cut 'em up like confetti, we'll hit 'em from the front you counter from behind don't forget the fate of Auradon's on the line" Uma sang.
"This is all out war, they got us outnumbered, the way the swords clash is the sound of the thunder" we all sang standing on the center platform regrouping with the boys and I all raising our swords.
"And we are not going under, we will never run for cover" Mal sang.
"We battle for the victory and ride for each other" everyone else but me sang since I was never going to forgive Mal, not even in a near death experience.
"Until the night falls everyone...we'll stay together 'til the battle is done" Evie sang when we all jumped down and went back to clashing swords.
"Watch your back, watch your back, Watch your back, watch your back..." we sang and I watched as Carlos lost his sword so I moved it stopping a downward swing the armor tried while Celica threw Carlos a shield off the wall and he used it to slide away. "Until the night falls, we're aligned, it doesn't mean that we're on the same side" we sang as I backed up my back hitting someone else and I saw Harry and we smirked before fighting off more suits. "Back to back, back to back, Back to back, back to back, hit 'em hard and hit 'em fast they're too heavy to react"
We all paused when the suits started to dance and I raised an eye since what the hell...before both Mal and Uma swung their swords down hitting the suit of armor in the front and it sent a shock wave through them.
"Suit of armor strong and true, make this metal bust a move!" Mal sang out a spell jumping up onto the center platform and her eyes glowed green before she raised the sword above her head and swung her hips from side to side and the suits copied her actions.
"Ah...ah...ah" Uma said jumping up holding the sword in both hands moving it from side to side and the suits copied meaning Mal's spell was working, Carlos got up next turning to his side holding his sword out behind him and stomped his foot with the armor copying so we all started dancing with Harry grabbing my hand spinning me around and twirling me as we all jumped up on the pedestals dancing with the suits copying us.
"Until the night falls, you can trust..." Evie sang as we all continued to dance around with the suits dancing with us.
"I'm gonna help you win this battle because I got your back, got your back, Got your back, got your back, all for one and that's a fact night fall pitch black" we finished and Harry dipped me right as the suits all collapsed but my focus was on Harry who was smiling down at me before we snapped out of it and he pulled me upright making me blush as he ran off cheering and celebrating with the whole group
"Yeah we did that, that's why I'm talking about..." Uma exclaimed and went to high five Mal before they both realized what they were doing and lowered their hands while the boys chest bumped then also realized what they'd done and the room was divided between the gangs again with Gil, Harry and I going over to stand by Uma and Jay and Carlos going over to stand behind Mal having our own celebrations.
"Guys come on this was so great" Evie complained to the dividing. "We were a team, we worked together come on" she tried to reach for Mal's hand but she shrugged her off. "Come on" she added reaching for me and I did the same giving her a look and heard her sigh. "You know what we should try?" she asked suddenly smiling. "An icebreaker" she smirked, Jay and Carlos groaned as she turned towards us. "You say something you really like about the other person, okay I'll start" she looked between us before I saw her eyes settle on Harry who was doing his best to avoid eye contact which is exactly why I knew Evie was gonna pick him. "Harry" she said and he let out breath. "Great accent" she said and he seemed surprised. "Now you go"
"Is she always this perky?" Uma cut in looking over at Mal.
"Oh it really wasn't your turn but thank you" Evie replied taking that as a compliment.
"Okay Evie, come here" Mal called grabbing her arm and pulled Evie towards her as I turned to Harry.
"She's not wrong about the accent" I smiled and he smiled down at me.
"Yer have pretty eyes" he said clearly playing this icebreaker nonsense and I laughed especially when Uma turned and gave him a look.
"...Audrey clearly knows were here and we need to get out of here ASAP" I heard Mal say when I turned away from Harry.
"Alright where does this cheerleader bunk down?" Uma cut in getting back to the situation.
"She's right even if she's not there we might find some sort of clue" I nodded.
"Actually she's still in the dorms" Evie replied.
"Your right because of summer school" Mal agreed.
"What...summer school!?" Harry called out laughing. "Summer school!" I scoffed shaking my head at him as he continued to laugh. "No wonder she wants revenge" he added putting his arm around my shoulders.
"Okay I need you guys to go find Ben, we will meet back at Evie's in two hours okay?" Mal said looking around at all the boys.
"Sounds like were going with my plan?" Uma spoke up. "I'm just saying"
"It was kind of the obvious plan" Mal argued dismissing the fact that Uma had been right.
"Uma said it first" Gil spoke up.
"Right so my plan" Uma smiled looking back at him.
"Whatever" Mal spat holding up her hands and walked out with us all following.
"Be careful yer hear" Harry suddenly said once we outside the castle and getting ready to split up.
"You almost sound worried there Hook" I smirked and he smirked back.
"Take care of each other" he nodded at Uma and I smiled since he was worried.
"We'll be fine Har" I squeezed his hand.
"Hadley!" Uma yelled and I rolled my eyes before taking a brave move and kissed Harry's cheek before rushing off after the girls blushing at my own audacity as we made our way back to Auradon Prep.
