The Frosty's Palace Fiasco

I woke up this morning feeling slightly more at ease; my relationship with Danny had changed, in a good way of course. He gave me a promise ring, I wasn't expecting it; it was a lovely surprise.

After our day at the beach yesterday, I honestly thought he was going to end it with me. After it was cleared up on why he had been acting so strange, we decided to go to Frosty's today. We haven't been there in a while and it's something different to do.

My mother made breakfast; she made pancakes, eggs and bacon. My father had to into the bank early, so he ate quickly. I told them about my plans with Danny, my mother smiled.

"You really like him don't you dear?"

I nodded "Mother, he told me that he loves me"

My father smiled "That's nice dear, I suppose you love him too?"

Again I nodded "Yes Father, I love him; nothing will change that, he promised that it was for good this time. Nothing is going to change the way he feels about me or the way I feel about him"

My mother looked at the ring on my hand and smiled again "It is a pretty ring"

I smiled in return "Isn't it just beautiful mother?"

My father left for work, my mother and I talked for a while, I then looked at the time. Danny would be here soon to take me on our date.

I went up to my room to get ready, I decided on my new black pencil skirt and my white blouse. I forgot to mention that I went shopping with Rizzo a few days ago and bought some new clothes.

She told me I needed to live up to my new image, but I could still wear my other skirts and blouses too. I just felt like wearing something different.

I heard a car pull up, it was Danny. I rushed downstairs, said goodbye to my mother and I went out the door. I walked over to his car, he smiled and opened the door for me. We headed off to frosty's.

Once we got to our destination; we got out and went in. It was different; we actually could go in and we didn't have to worry about anyone interrupting us this time.

We ordered a couple of burgers, two colas and of course ice cream. We were laughing, sneaking the occasional kiss and holding hands on the table, not underneath it.

It was nice, until Patty walked in and spotted us; I knew now that she wasn't a nice person, she might have been nice at first and then I realised that she was actually after Danny. It was why she encouraged me to go with Tom, so she could have Danny.

To say we were friends would be an overstatement; we just happened to be on the cheerleading team together, and we also had to get along at first and then it all changed.

She came over "Hi you two, I see you're all alone; what happened Danny? Did your friends decide to ditch you now that you're with Sandy?"

He cleared his throat "No actually, the guys are cool with us being together; not that it's any of your business Simcox"

She laughed "Well you two have a nice day now"

She looked at us again and then she walked off, but as she did she slipped and fell; she got up dusted herself off and walked off.

I could tell that she was humiliated; talk about a fiasco. I couldn't help but laugh. I knew I shouldn't have, however she deserved it, coming over here and assuming that just because we were here alone that Danny's friends didn't like him now.

Let's just say if jealousy was a person; it would be in the form of Patty Simcox, it's sad really, I mean it's not my fault that Danny and I happened to be made for each other.

Danny sat there, I could tell that he didn't know if he should have laughed or humiliated her even further. I suppose that would have been taking it to far.

He smiled at me, and I got lost in those baby blue eyes of his. That smile, it makes me breathless. I blushed and looked away. He laughed softly "Don't get all shy on me again"

I turned to look at him and giggled "Well put away that killer smile of yours"

He smiled again, I could feel that breathlessness feeling coming over me again "Danny"

I giggled, while trying to speak in a serious tone. He looked at me, and he grinned, knowing full well that I wasn't being serious.

We finished our food, we paid and then we left. We spotted Patty outside, she was with Tom. She was sitting on his lap. I guess she wanted to make it look like they were enjoying themselves, because she was playing with his hair.

He was stroking her face; she had a small cut on her face, she must have gotten it earlier when she fell. I laughed and Danny turned around. He wanted to have some fun, since she interrupted us. He shouted to get their attention.

"Hey, do that in private; no one wants to see that out here"

They broke apart and Tom jumped, I noticed that his face went red; Patty stumbled and tried to regain her balance. I jokingly slapped Danny's shoulder. I also couldn't help but laugh. Serves them right.

He looked at me "What was that for?"

I tried to look serious "You know full well what that was for; scaring them like that, it wasn't nice Danny"

I tried not to laugh at his face, he looked so confused; he began to stumble over his words, I giggled.

"Ha, I got you didn't I? Did you really think I cared after what she did to us?"

He smiled and laughed softly "I'll get you for that Sandy"

I knew he was messing around, we have been able to laugh, joke and just be us. Even though we were disturbed, we had a great time.

We got back to my house and we sat in his car for a while; we just sat in silence, it was perfect. I could hear birds chirping, the sound relaxed me.

I know that nothing will ever get in the way of us again, no one or anything will ever be able to ruin what we have. We are stronger than ever.

We decided that a quiet day was in order tomorrow; we were going to his place, to be alone; he told me that his mother would be there, but that she wouldn't interrupt us.

I kissed him on the cheek and got out of the car, I turned to smile at him, he waited until I was in the door before driving off. I could definitely get used to this new Danny Zuko.

Tomorrow was going to be a good day. I just knew it. This was the best decision I had ever made, I'm so glad that I gave him another chance. Because I knew that we could be together no matter what.
