Authors notes: So this is it the first part of the two part final battle, let us hope the Paladins and Arendelle royals will survive whats to come.

Chapter 17:
Lions Roar Part 1:
In the deep night danger looms Galra warships converge on the kingdom of Arendelle, their front defence Voltron has been seemingly vanquished. The Castle of Lions holds its position in front of the Kingdom and below many Arendelle guards and Blade of Marmora members stand ready for the worst. On the bridge of the castle Allura, Coran, Kristof, Sven and Kolivan see the approaching threat. Allura worries deep down but maintains a look of courage.
"Its the Galra" Coran breathed. Suddenly Anna, Elsa and Olaf arrive on the bridge.
"So whats happening?" Anna asked.
"Galra Warships are converging on the kingdom at least an entire fleet." Kolivan relayed.
"Ryner, raise the particle barrier round the kingdom now." Allura said over the communication channel who was in the kingdom next to a generator in the centre of the village. "Understood but it'll only take so much before it falls." Reyner relayed.
Castle bridge:
"Well lets make it count." Allura decided Anna and Elsa looked to each other with worry.
"Allura." Elsa said getting her attention. "What about the Paladins?" Allura was quiet looking worried.
"We' don't know anything yet." she said simply.
Elsa looked to the distance on the incoming threat, but she was worried not just for her kingdom and her people, but for her new found family especially a certain black clad paladin.
On the bridge of the Galra warship Zarkon stood over his forces and saw their intended target, his eyes glowed with power, and then he spoke. "Launch fighters, begin the assault." He echoed through the ship.
Outside millions of fighters emerged from the sides of the ships, approaching the kingdom. The ships were ready to open fire but suddenly as they began their approach.
"NOW!" Allura exclaimed. A large particle barrier was raised around Arendelle and the fighters were destroyed upon hitting it.
The barrier soon raised around the Castle of lions and began firing its defences at the incoming fighters. More fighters kept flying from the warship as the Galra lieutenants and sentries monitor.
"Sire the fighters are being destroyed by this barrier." Relayed a luitenant "Charge the Ion cannons destroy the barrier." Zarkon ordered.
The Ion cannons on the starboard and portside ships charged and fired a concentrated blast at the Castle and Arendelles particle barrier which sent a shockwave through the castle and kingdom. Reyner looked at the console on the generator.
"Allura, the barriers weakening anymore shots like that and Arendelle will be defenceless." She relayed.
"We must hold out I shall try to contact the Paladins just do what you can!" Allura relayed on the bridge.
Elsewhere:
Far away deep in the North valley lie the de-powered lions of Voltron still powerless after the blast they took. Inside the Paladins lay unconscious, Shiro began to stir inside his lion.
"Paladins come in, Paladins." A voice said on the coms system and Shiro knew it was Alluras voice.
Castle of Lions:
"Shiro, are you there!" In the castle everyone looked with worry fearing the worst.
"Allura…we're here…we're okay." a voice called over the coms and Elsa breathed a sigh of relief she knew who's voice it was.
"Shiro, your okay." Elsa breathed.
"Hey.."Lance breathed "You can't get rid of these handsome mugs that easily."
"Are the lions operational?" Coran asked. Pidge tried moving the flight sticks to move her lion but theres no response.
"The lions are down." Pidge answered.
"But we're alive that must count for something." Hunk said.
"The Galra are attacking, we're holding them at bay but the barrier around Arendelle won't last long." Kolivan relayed.
"Paladins, we'll need you to make a stand… remember your training all that you've learned, and connect with your lions." Allura spoke to the Paladins who listened.
"We'll do what we can." Keith answered as the communication channel was disconnected.
The Galra kept attacking while far below the surface the people of the kingdom all sit in fear of the battle going on on the surface, children and parents hold onto each other close hoping that their defenders won't fail them. Meanwhile on the warship the Warships continue firing on the barriers.
"Sire we cannot penetrate their defences." Relayed a lieutenant.
"Victory or death lieutenant." Zarkon reminded. The fighters then broke their attack on the castle and onto Arendelle, however instead of blasting they crashed straight into the barrier one by one destroying themselves. This didn't go unnoticed by the Queen and Princess of Arendelle.
"W-What are they doing?" Elsa asked.
"Yeah why are they crashing into the barrier?" Anna added.
"Oww that must hurt." Olaf awed. "They're trying to deplete the energy." Kolivan realised "The Galra know the barrier won't withstand that kind of punishment."
He was right in the centre of the village Reyner was doing her best to maintain the barrier, however the controls then sparked and the console shut down and the barrier all but fell apart above their heads. The explosion surprised the civilians below and the guards on duty. The Galra saw the shield was down around the kingdom.
"Send in the ground forces." Zarkon relayed.
The fighters landed and deployed an entire army of robotic sentries armed with blasters. Coran saw this from the consoles of the castle.
"They're deploying sentries, their approaching Arendelle!" Coran stated.
"Kolivan, alert your forces!" Allura said to which Kolivan opened the com lines.
"Antok, the Sentries are approaching the kingdom begin assault." He relayed.
On the ground near the Kingdom Antok and the Arendelle captain of the guard stood ready.
"Understood." Antok said. He then nodded to the captain telling him it was time, he looked through his spyglass and saw the enemy approaching.
"FIRE!" He ordered and suddenly cannons from the ships in the cover of the rocks below fired to the sentries approaching the wall destroying them in multiple shots.
"ATTACK!" Antok announced and from the trees the kingdom guards and Blade of Marmora charged to the sentries who began firing before meeting the blades of their enemies.
The soldiers knew not to hold back since they were machines and drove their swords into the exposed areas while rifle men armed with crossbows attacked from the wall above.
High above on the lead warship a figure could be seen on the bow of the ship looking out on the battlefield. In the Castle Kristof caught notice of one of the ships in the fleet, he could faintly make out someone standing on the bow.
"Wait who's that?, on the warship?" Kristof pointed and Coran zeroed the scanners onto the individual and they could all see who it was and Elsa could only shudder in fear she knew who this was.
"I…Its him!" She breathed in fear.
"You mean…thats.." Anna said.
"Its Zarkon" Coran said the emperor then pulled something from his cloak and Kristof saw its shape and it reminded him of something.
"Wait is that?" He pointed to the weapon.
"He- he has a Bayard?!" Anna exclaimed.
"You mean he has Shiro's Bayard." Elsa reminded in anger.
Zarkon pointed his Bayard in front of him, and it formed what seemed to be a large cannon shape. It charged and then fired a massive blast at the Castle of Lions and with one hit it blasted through the particle barrier and into the castle damaging one of the engines. The explosion could be heard by the Paladins who were very far away and the heard in horror.
The castle then lost altitude and crashed into the Fjord and was de powered from the impact. The sentries kept swarming the castle wall and the Guards and Blades were begining to get overwhelmed.
"Fall back!" Antok called Reyner meanwhile hurried to the Castle of lions to see it lying on the ground and runs to try and get in.
"Kill them all." Zarkon said with eyes glowing.
The Paladins could hear the innocent screams of the kingdom civilians in their minds and the death cries of guards and Blades. Shiro closed his eyes and frowned in anger.
"Everyone listen." Shiro said. "We have to get up and fight." The other Paladins listened with looks of horror.
"We need to channel our energy, we need to focus, concentrate every amount of energy we have into moving the lions, we have to believe in ourselves." Shiro continued. "We are Arendelle's only hope, we are the last thing standing between Zarkon and thousands of innocent lives." The Paladins listened and grew determined. "I'm not giving up on that fight and I'm not giving up on our friends. Paladins, close your eyes and concentrate." Shiro said closing his eyes and the other Paladins followed suit concentrating hard.
"Add your strength to the lions." Shiro breathed. The Paladins focused hard channeling their energy into their lions.
All the while they remembered their friends and their new found family. Hunk remembered him delivering Ice with Kristof "For Kristof." Hunk whispered.
Pidge was having a memory of her own, of her and Anna talking, and from when they fought Throk in the ballroom.
"For Anna." Pidge breathed.
Lance had a flashback of Sven and him talking to each other and how he was learning to understand him.
"For Sven." He breathed.
Keith was deep in concentration and memory her remembered that even though he was annoying Olaf was still one to care, he remembered Olaf following him around, him with Anna about his Galra side even at the picnic.
"For Olaf." He then breathed.
Shiros memory was the deepest of all. He remembered awaking in Arendelle and meeting a certain Ice queen, the time he spent with her, Anna, and Kristof. And most of all how he felt a kindred spirit in Elsa after sharing his stories and thoughts about her powers and to not be afraid of them.
"For Elsa." He finally breathed.
Suddenly something began to happen, the Black lions eyes glowed yellow, then Reds, Greens, Blues and Yellows emerged into life growling they stood up one by one and let out an ear splitting roar.
Back on the battle field the fighters were bombarding the forces below Antok and the castle guards were still trying to stand their ground against the sentries. It looked like they were about to meet their end, until. A blast of laser fire destroyed the fighters above them and the surrounding areas. They looked to the Fjord and saw the source of the laser fire in the distance was the Lions of Voltron attacking the fleet of warships.
"Its the Paladins!" Called a guard.
"The gods are with us!" Exclaimed the Captain.
The lions fired at the fighters destroying them. In the cockpit Shiro looked determined in his lion. "Alright team, its time to turn the tide!" He said "Keith, Pidge take care of the fighters, Lance, Hunk with me we're taking down those warships, lets go!"
The lions rocketed away. Red and Green attacked the fighters with their jaw blasters shooting them down. Red flies ahead and turns round forming the rail gun on its back firing a massive blast of energy which wiped through and destroyed the fighters in its path.
Green attacked the fighters with its jaw blade slicing through them like paper then blasted two more fighters with the vine cannon trapping them in a vine cocoon.
The Yellow, Blue and Black lions engage the Warships in the fleet, Blue attacks the port side ships, forming its sonic cannon and using the sound waves to scramble the targeting systems while Yellow comes charging in forming its armour claws and cannon tearing through the ship.
"YEAAHHH!" Hunk yelled. The Black lion proceeded to the lead ship, when suddenly the lion froze in place and glowed purple. Shiro growled and couldn't free the controls he realised what was doing this or rather who was doing this.
"Zarkon!" He hissed. On the bow of the ship Zarkons eyes glowed bright focussing his energy on his connection to the lion. Shiro growled as he tried to fight back for control.
Meanwhile in the de-powered castle Elsa began to stir, she got up and saw everyone in the Castle was rendered unconscious, she saw Anna lying on the floor she rushed over to her. Thankfully she was alive much to the Queens relief. Elsa looked and saw the window screens completely black she then saw a screen active near Alluras station and saw the Black lion struggling she knew that Shiro was in trouble.
"Shiro" She breathed meanwhile in the lion Shiro was still fighting for control when suddenly he heard a faint voice.
"Shiro…" His eyes widened he was hearing Elsa's voice in his head. "Elsa?" He breathed.
"I know you can do this, you have to fight him." She echoed. In the castle she was speaking to the monitor unaware that Shiro could hear her. " I know how strong you are, you never give up" She said "Stand up to Zarkon you can do this…" She echoed in Shiros mind.
He struggled but knew he had to fight. "Shiro… Don't be afraid, you're connection is stronger than his can ever be. I know it is, you believed in me now I believe in you."
He decided to do something different he didn't struggle but instead relaxed his mind he focused his energy he opened his eyes and found himself in a spectral void and appearing behind him was the spectral form of the Black Lion growling the screen splits and as their eyes aligned they glowed bright yellow. The Black Lion then broke free of Zarkons control and charged right at the warship Zarkon was on he tried to gain control but couldn't find his connection he bore a frustrated look.
The Black lion was charging forward and inside Shiro's eyes were still closed he pulled his flight sticks back and his eyes shot open and he yelled pushing the flight sticks forwards. Suddenly as the lion curled its wings glowed and extended outwards and as they stretched out and roared they were entirely different they were larger with blue feathered tips on the ends of each wing.
Elsa saw this on the monitor and looked wide eye she had seen these wings before, Shiro had unlocked his Lions secret power. The lion charged but instead of crashing into the warship it phased through it and out the other side it turned round and fired a blast at the warship which destroyed the centre of the ship which sent it crashing to the the Fjord not to far away from the kingdom or the Castle of Lions.
Suddenly she heard groaning and turned to see everyone present in the castle stirring, and the doors were being forced open by Reyner who entered the room.
"Is everyone alright." She asked. Kristof groaned as he stood up.
"Ugh tell me when my head stops ringing." He said.
"Princess are you okay?" Coran asked helping Allura.
"I'm fine Coran, whats the damage on the castle?" She then asked and Coran went to the console and saw a blaring red light on the console.
"Our power levels are completely depleted, and we can't reach the Paladins but we still have some visuals." Coran said bringing up what was going on outside and it was the Paladins fighting the Galra but more fighters kept coming in.
"Its the guys!" Anna cheered.
"Yeah but it won't mean a thing if these warships keep coming." Kristof observed.
"Hey body over here!" Olaf called who had lost his head after the castle crashed, his body was waddling round the room with the mice chasing it. "Yes chase it over here!" He called to the mice.
"Coran you and Reyner do what you can to get the castle functioning we'll have to aid the Paladins however we can." Allura said "We have to stop that pillar if the command ship comes through we're outmatched."
"Allura, if its in the North Valley your going to need my help, I know that place like the back of my hand and I know the shortest routes there." Kristof said to the Altean princess. Allura took a moment to consider and while there were risks she couldn't ignore this advantage.
"Very well, Kristof you, Kolivan and Sven come with me" She Kolivan, Kristof and Sven proceeded to the bridge entrance. "We need to destroy that pillar device before the Galra can bring the command ship through." Allura then said "Coran man the bridge."
"What! Allura, the pillar will be heavily guarded you can't face them directly!" Coran said.
"If we don't then all will be lost." Allura said determined.
"Kristof." He looked to see Anna looking a little worried.
"Anna don't worry about me, the guys are risking their lives to save our home I need to help them however I can." He said determined.
"I know, just, just don't die on me okay" She said holding his hand to which he smiled.
"Kristof." He turned to see Allura. "If your going to fight in this battle you'll be needing some protection." She said and Kristof smirked knowing what she had in mind.
Outside the Black Lion approaches the crashed warship, but suddenly a large blast of laser fire emerges from the smoke which Black manages to avoid. The smoke clears to reveal Zarkon wielding his Bayard in its energy cannon form. Shiro just glared as he thrusted the flight sticks forward and fired a blast from the lions jaw Zarkon leaped away from the blast and returned fire using his cannon. Black avoids the blast and swoops in firing at Zarkon who then forms his Bayard into a curved retracting chain which wraps around the lions back leg and swings it into the fjord.
"You may have the power of the Black lion," Zarkon said "but in your hands it is weak." The lion gets up and takes to the sky firing down at his opponent, only for Zarkon to deflect them with his Bayard shield.
Meanwhile running from the Castle of Lions was Sven running from fjord carrying Allura, Kolivan and Kristof who is now clad in Hunks spare yellow Paladin armour. They ride to the North towards the North Valley.
In the Castle, Anna and Elsa see the fight going on and could hear the communication chatter from the other lions. "I took out three but here comes more!" Hunk exclaimed.
"We've got to hold out!" Pidge yelled.
"Who's got eyes on Shiro!" Keith exclaimed. Anna just looked with worry as she saw the battle between Zarkon and the Black Lion.
"I can't just sit here we have to…" Anna then turned to see her sister but she wasn't there suddenly she and Coran heard something. "What was that?" Anna asked.
"It sounded like an airlock opening!" Coran said, Anna looked to a screen and saw what seemed to be a path of ice going across the fjord and it was beginning to freeze all over.
"Elsa" She breathed.
Elsa was running across the fjord leaving a path of ice trying to avoid being hit by any falling debris or crashing warships. Meanwhile Anna climbed down from the castle airlock and onto the frozen fjord she ran on the ice but made sure she didn't slip. She tried to keep up but was slowed down by her footing and the falling debris from the sky. High above the lions were trying to hold their own against the incoming fighters smashing them into each other and blasting them with their tail lasers.
In the Yellow Lions cockpit Hunk then noticed something happening in the sky. "Uh guys is it just me or is it starting to snow?" He said. Everyone else didn't notice as they were too busy fighting, suddenly the Green Lions eyes lit up and let out a loud roar which startled Pidge.
"Huh wh- what is it girl?" She asked and the Lion showed her on the screen what it was sensing and Pidge looked with wide eyes.
Below Anna was running but suddenly some falling debris nearly crushed her she jumped away to avoid it. She tries to get up but slips on the ice suddenly she sees the alarming sight of a Galra fighter falling towards where she was she closed her eyes and prepared for the worst. However though the explosion was heard she was unharmed. She looked up and saw the sight of the Green lion above her, it had protected her from the falling ship. She gave a grateful smile.
Elsewhere in the North Valley:
Meanwhile high above the North Valley on the other side of the giant rip in the sky stood the Galra central command ship. Standing on the Komar was Haggars Druids.
"Begin the transport" the main one hissed and the command ship slowly began to pierce through the rip. The Galra sentries guard the area round the pillar however suddenly they can sense something coming from the distance thumping on the ground.
Then leaping over the guards was Sven and his riders Kolivan dismounted and cut down the sentries with his Marmora blade and deflects their blasts. Sentries fire at Sven, Kristof and Allura but the reindeer runs to avoid the blasts whilst Kristof protects him with the armour gauntlet shield. Allura leaps off now armed with a gold and white staff and strikes down the sentries in their path. The four assembled as a group armed with their respective weapons whilst Kristof is armed with a mere hatchet.
Commander Throk saw them from his station and bore an infuriated look on his face. "Grr- ATTACK DON'T LET THEM INTERFERE!" He ordered the sentries and they attacked with their blasters. Kristof defends them with the armour shield.
"They're blocking our way!" He exclaimed.
"They're bringing the command ship through we don't have much time!" Allura exclaimed. Kolivan charged forwards striking down the sentries with his blade. One was about to attack him from behind but suddenly it was crushed by a charging force and it was Sven ramming into every Galra sentry in his path then tossing them off his antlers.
Kolivan bore an impressed smile behind his mask. Kristof struck down every sentry that approached him with his hatchet and his own fists while Allura swatted them away with her staff.
"This way!" Allura said as she and Kristof made their way up on a small platform which elevated towards the pillar device. They leaped onto the lower section of the Pillar and were about to climb up until. Their path was blocked by a laser blast. They turned and saw Throk standing on an opposite platform armed with a laser blaster as he leaped onto the pillar.
"Get to the top!" Kristof said to Allura "I'll keep him busy!" Allura was taken aback but then nodded as she hurried up the pillar.
"Witless boy" Throk chuckled "You may wear Paladin armour but that won't be enough to stop commander Throk of the Galra empire." He then proclaimed.
"Okay do you guys ever stop to not gloat?" Kristof asked and the two then charged at each other yelling.
Back In Arendelle
The Black Lion fires a blast of energy at Zarkon who just blocks it with his shield his Bayard then forms into its chain form and it lashes around the lions back leg and using his sheer strength Zarkon swings the lion into the ground. He looks to see the lion lying lifeless on the ground. Suddenly he saw something leaping from the smoke it was Shiro leaping out of his lion with his energised hand. Zarkon blocked the strike with his shield and Shiro yelled as he delivered his punch. The emperor pushed him away with his shield, Shiro lands a distance away and stands in a fighting stance.
"It would seem you and I are destined to battle for control of the lion once more Paladin" Zarkon said to his opponent.
Shiro just glared at the Emperor as the two charged into battle. Shiro delivered multiple slashes at Zarkon with his charged hand but Zarkon blocked them and delivered a punch of his own knocking the Black Paladin away. He forms a club shape from his Bayard and speeds behind Shiro with his armour jets and swats him to the ground with the club shattering his armours jet pack. He stumbled to the ground.
Elsa finally made it to the battle ground. She sees Shiro fighting the Galran emperor, she hurried over to help him until suddenly. A plume of shadow emerges in front of her as it died down it revealed Witch Haggar herself. She froze when she saw the hooded individual.
"You shall not interfere with my emperor's battle, you shall have to deal with me." Haggar said with venom in her voice.
She blasted her shadow magic at Elsa who quickly moved out of the way to avoid it. She quickly raised an ice wall in front of her to protect her from the blast. Only for the witch to appear behind her and blast her in the back. She tumbled to the ground and groans.
Shiro looked up and saw Zarkon swooping down with his sword he quickly forms his gauntlet shield blocking the sword the shield blocks the energy surge from the impact but shatters to pieces cracking his gauntlet.
Elsa groans as she got up and looked to the witch looking over her. "Pathetic, even with your so called powers you are too weak." Haggar ebbed.
"Look all around you!" Haggar continued. "This is what you chose when you defied my will! I made you strong and this is how you repay me!" Elsa listened to the witch and saw the battle before her and her home being attacked by the Galra.
"Your home, your family will fall and it will be all your doing, for denying the empire and me your home shall pay the ultimate price." Haggar said and eventually Elsa had enough of listening to her and instead focused on her friends voices.
"No matter what you think or feel I still love you." Anna's voice echoed.
"If you ever get too worried about something that can go wrong, you may miss the chance to do something great." Shiro's voice echoed.
"We're all here to make each other stronger, no one needs to act alone." Alluras voice echoed.
Then Elsa knew what she had to do. She stood up and blasted a flurry of ice at the witch pushing her back. Just then a snow storm was gathering around the two opponents.
"No!" Elsa called as she walked towards Haggar. "I'm none of the things you say I am, my friends taught me to be strong, and that I don't have to be afraid, the only monster in this land is you, you hurt Shiro and you hurt me and my family!"
Elsas power grew and grew ever more powerful and Haggar growled as her eyes widened with shock and a stench of fear over came her.
"Now you'll pay!" Elsa blasted the full force of her power at the witch and catapulted Haggar across the deck of the crashed warship. The storm died down and the ice queen looked down at her tormentor.
However the greatest surprise was still to come. For when the witch looked back at the ice queen, her hood was down and it revealed her face she had white hair, but what came as a bigger surprise was she bore certain markings on her face and she looked like a certain princess she knew.
"Y.. your an Altean?" Elsa breathed in shock. Just then her attention was drawn to the fight between Shiro and Zarkon who swatted the black clad Paladin to the ground. She dismissed the witch and hurried to her friend.
Shiro got up from the ground, only to be met by the blade of Zarkon's Bayard sword. "Fool you may've bested me in the spiritual plane but here you are weak." He hissed "The Black lion will not save you this time!"
Zarkon raises his sword and is about to strike him down until suddenly. A flurry of snow pushes him away from the Black Paladin. He stumbles and sees who was behind the snow flurry and it was Elsa standing with a look of determination.
"You!" He growled he charges at the queen and forms his bayard cannon to blast her. She ducks and fires ice at Zarkon, however it doesn't hit him. She looks in horror as she sees the ice hit someone else, it was Shiro, Zarkon used him as a human shield and the ice hit him in the chest.
"NO!" Elsa yelled in horror. Zarkon tossed Shiro away onto the ground who was shivering and Elsa looked with tears.
"Do you see now" She heard Zarkon speak "Those who deny what is mine seal their fate, and even with the power you possess you'll always be weak just as you were too weak to use your full potential, you and this pitiful kingdom shall perish as he shall." Elsa just cringed but then shot a look of anger at the Galra emperor
"You speak to me of being weak!" Elsa yelled "Your a monster! and your right I am afraid of my powers but at least I'm not a puppet like you that witch has you on her strings just as she did me! Tell me if you believe the strong are worthy why aren't you in the lion now, you cling to what power you have is that why you want Voltron so…badly just so you don't lose the power you have for others to fear you!" Elsa soon realised.
"Oh yes its clear to me know, without the Black lion, without that Bayard your nothing, no wonder the Paladins have always bested you!" That tricked a nerve in Zarkon as he gripped his Bayard tight in outrage.
"YOU WANT ME TO SHOW YOU POWER!" Zarkon yelled as his eyes glowed brighter with energy and his cloak fluttered in the air. "THE STRENGTH OF MY EMPIRE SURGES THROUGH MY VERY BEING, AND YOU WILL FEEL ITS WRATH!" He yelled as he surged with power and charged forward with his Bayard.
Elsa jumped away and shot ice spikes at Zarkon who charged through them and punched Elsa away. She stumbled but soon regains her footing. She forms an ice wall to protect her from Zarkon charging in but is shattered to pieces only for her to blast him away with an ice blast. As they battle a snowstorm begins to form around them and the lion.
North Valley:
Meanwhile back at the North Valley Kristof is blocking the laser blasts of commander Throks laser rifle with his shield, as he reloaded the ice master charged at Throk slashing at him with his hatchet only for Galran commander to block the hatchet strike then kick Kristof away.
"Victory or Death!" Throk proclaimed but before any more was said he was knocked off the pillar by an unknown force. Kristof looked up and saw it was Sven who saved him.
"Thanks buddy." He said stroking his companion. Allura had soon arrived at the Pillars main control core in the centre, however as the command ship began to cross over this didn't go unnoticed by Haggar who growled.
"Stop her!" The lead Druid ordered and his fellow Druids crossed through the rip on their platforms. Allura was about to open the core but suddenly she was blocked by a blast of dark magic. She turned and saw the Druids standing before her.
She stood battle ready to face them and they swooped in firing blasts of dark magic which the skilled Altean was able to avoid and attacks one with her staff swatting it away but the other three attacked with dark magic. Allura took a blast to the hand, but surprisingly she didn't feel anything, it was glowing with a pink shade of what seemed to be quintessence. She was rather surprised. A druid was about to attack but a blade pierced its chest and exploded in a plume of light. The light faded to reveal Kolivan who struck it down. The two leaders then stood side by side as they faced the Druids.
Back In Arendelle:
Elsa was blasting Zarkon with her ice who was defending himself with his Bayard shield then swats the breeze away as he charged forward with his sword and slashes at the ice queen but she quickly avoids it but Zarkon swats her away across the wreckage of the ship.
"You won't keep me from what is mine witch!" Zarkon said as he was making his way to the Black lion but he was suddenly stuck in place he saw his feet were frozen to the ground. He turned to the Ice queen.
"Don't you see!" Elsa yelled "The Black lion won't choose you again after everything you've done!" Zarkon broke free from the ice and rocketed towards the Ice queen and roundhouse kicks her to the other side of the wreckage but she quickly gets up again.
"Foolish child!" Zarkon exclaimed "You have no idea how to command a weapon like this!"
"The Lion isn't yours to command or anyone else!" She threw her arms up creating a large flurry of ice and snow in the storm and throws everything at Zarkon.
The force pushes Zarkon back as ice grows on his armour however from the storm surrounding him shot his chain Bayard through which struck her in the head knocking her to the ground. The storm ceases to reveal Zarkon standing above her. Shiro tries to get up and help her but he was still weak after the blast he took.
Zarkon grabs Elsa by her hair as blood runs from her head and brings her up to eye level. "Do you really believe the Black Lion would chose a weak feeble creature to pilot it, only the strongest and most powerful are worthy!" Zarkon said.
"No" Elsa said "You've just forgotten whats most important between a lion and its Paladin, the power isn't what matters its earning each others trust!" She groaned and a certain Lion was listening as its eyes glowed.
"Trust has nothing to do with it." Zarkon said simply "The lion is mine, now and forever!" Zarkon readied his Bayard sword to strike Elsa down.
"NO!" Shiro screamed.
Suddenly before Zarkon could strike he heard a roar from above and the Black lion swooped in and fired its jaw laser at him forcing him to let go of the Ice Queen. He was blasted away into the wreckage of a Galra fighter and the smoke cleared to reveal him unconscious and his armour cracked.
Elsa choked as she got up from the cold metal surface she looked up to see the lion turning to her.
"Thank you." She breathed giving a grateful smile and the lion purred in response. She ran over to Shiro who was trying to stand up she placed her hand on his chest and held him by his arm.
"Are you alright?" She asked with worry.
"I should be asking you that?" Shiro chocked seeing the blood running down the side of Elsa's head.
"Shiro, y…your chest you got hit in the heart." She said with worry as the armour had ice round the chest area.
"Don't worry the armour took most of the impact." He said assuringly "I've got to get to the others." He said limping to his lion.
"Not without me your not!" Elsa said helping him but was worried as she knew what happens if a persons heart was frozen.
North Valley:
The Druids continue their assault on Allura and Kolivan who stand their ground. Kristof and Sven arrive to see the fight and wanted to help.
"No Kristof!" Allura cried "The control core! DESTROY IT!" She then exclaimed.
Kristof then saw the exposed panel and tossed his hatchet at its centre creating a crack which begins too surge with energy. With the Druids distracted by the damaged core Allura, Kolivan and Kristof jump from the pillar and Sven leaps from the lower level to catch them on his back and rode away from the area just as the core reached critical mass. The core explodes and the explosion takes out the druids the sentries and the facility destroying the pillar.
The destruction causes the rip to shrink down and pushes the command ship back through the rip though Haggar tries to use her dark magic to reopen the rift it continues to seal a small fighter passes through the rift with Throk piloting it followed by a small escape pod carrying the injured Emperor Zarkon and Morvok.
Meanwhile in the Castle of Lions Reyner and Coran are working on the castles system Olaf then hops onto the console and hits a button then all of a sudden the castle comes back online surprising them.
"Whoa, Olaf how'd you?…" Coran asked "I don't know I just pressed a button" He said.
"The surprises of this kingdom never cease to amaze me." Reyner said.
The Paladins are still fighting the Galra fleet surrounding Arendelle but we're beginning to fade. Suddenly a communication with a familiar voice comes in. "Paladins come in!"
"CORAN!" Lance exclaimed.
"Your alive!" Hunk cried.
"Is everyone okay?" Keith asked.
"Oh I'm fine so's Reyner and Coran" Olaf chirped.
"Paladins are you there." Called another voice.
"Allura is everything okay.?" Keith asked.
"The Pillars been destroyed and the rips is sealed the Galra can't come through!" Kolivan relayed.
"Now all we've got to do is take down the remaining warships!" Lance said.
"Theres no way we can take down this fleet with only four lions!" Hunk exclaimed but just as he said that.
"Make that five!" A familiar voice sounded on the coms and from the distance the Black lion arrives on the scene.
"Shiro!" Keith exclaimed.
"Your okay!" Pidge added.
"Is Elsa with you!" Anna asked.
"Yes Anna I'm fine" Elsa was in the Black Lions cockpit with Shiro.
"Now lets finish this." Shiro then turned to Elsa "Elsa would you do the honours?"
Elsa was rather taken aback. "Really?" She breathed.
"Go for it" Shiro said with a determined grin. Elsa bore her own determined smile and there was only one thing for her to say.
"Everyone….FORM VOLTRON!"
As if on command the lions came together as one. The Black lion retracted its front paws into its back forming the body, whilst the Red and Green lions front and back legs folded inwards creating the arms of the giant. The Yellow and Blue Lions folded their legs in front and back as their bodies moved upwards forming legs. Piece by piece the different parts came together. And last but not least Black formed the head and the formation of the mighty Voltron was complete!

Voltron rockets towards the fleet and attacks. Voltron forms his sword and charges straight though three warships which explode in half. He fires laser blasts from his hands destroying the ion cannons on the nearby ships and they explode soon after. Voltron's shoulder cannon forms on his right shoulder and fires a large blast wave destroying the swarming Galra fighters. Warships explode and fighters crash to the ground.
Far below the Blades and remaining castle guards rally and fight back against the remaining sentry robots. Suddenly out of nowhere a pitchfork pierces one of the sentries in the chest much to the surprise of everyone else. The guards and Blades turned to see practically all of the Kingdoms populace charging to the aid of the guards and Blades.
"The Paladins have helped us now we help them, lets defend our home!" Called a civilian and they helped drive the sentries back throwing fruit at their faces and striking them down with pitchforks and spears. Behind his mask Antok was very impressed. "Their courage is to be admired." He said.
The remaining sentries were destroyed and with the fall of the last sentry drone victory was theres. A shadow then loomed over them and everyone looked up and saw Voltron hovering over them in triumph and everyone cheered in victory.
In the cockpits of the lions The Paladins and their friends all looked tired but triumphant.
"We did it!" Pidge cheered and Anna just pulled her into a hug which she was all but glad to return.
"We saved Arendelle!" Lance cheered Keith was all but relieved that they succeeded and Hunk nearly burst into tears.
The happiest of all was Elsa a lone tear ran down her face she looked to Shiro who was nothing but happy that this threat was over at last. Below in the Northern Woods Allura, Kristof, Kolivan and Sven looked to see the Galra forces were all but vanquished and the Altean princess could only breathe a sigh of relief that another land didn't fall to evil.
However while all was calm the sensors in the Castle of Lions started blaring warning sirens Coran looked in horror as the sensors picked up an object heading towards them. A boom sound was heard by everyone and Voltron turned to see the object crash down in the fjord. The steam cleared and revealed something that struck horror on the Paladins, Ice Queen, Princesses, Ice master and reindeers faces. It was a robeast coffin.
"Oh no." Elsa breathed in horror.
"Guys, I don't think we're out of this yet." Shiro breathed while one force was defeated a new battle was about to begin.

Authors notes: Oh boy whilst one battle is over another is about to begin. Now for those who follow Legendary Defender I know Shiro doesn't unlock the Black Lions Transcendent wings until the season 2 Finale but in this situation I felt it seemed appropriate to take down Zarkon warship, no taking back the Black Bayard included I'm afraid.
