A/N: Harry doesn't play Quidditch in this story because

#Two Weeks Later#

During the last two weeks, Harry Potter, Jackson Alexander, and Hermione Granger avoided all the demigods. Ron was in-between both groups. He couldn't decide which group to to stick with.

Karlito had been mulling over the facts. It was odd that a troll would go directly towards the bathroom Hermione Granger was in. And how would it even get into school grounds without permission? No one, not even Voldemort himself could do it. So, someone had to let him in. Karlito didn't think any teacher did it. Snape would be a prime suspect, but the slimeball couldn't do it.

The only logical explanation was Dumbledore. That worried Karlito even more, since Minerva called him the ultimate enemy. Was he going to wreck them right under their noses? He couldn't outwardly suspect the man, but the facts never once lied.

And one more thing. If he knew having demigods would complicate the already complicated year for the children, why would he bring them to their side? And, why bring a giant if he knew they couldn't be defeated with out a god? Did he know that Karlito had the power to summon them? Was Karlito, some sort of half half blood?

It would make sense. Should he tell Harry or wait for Dumbledore to potentially leak the information? He should wait for the leak. Dumbledore would play it smart, so he should too.

All this and more buried itself in Karlito's head. He was currently at breakfast with Neville. He decided to make small talk, thinking it would be beneficial. "So, Neville, how has your school life been?" "Good, actually. Snape has been pressing me, but my grade is not bad in his class. I'm the best in Herbology out of all the students in Hogwarts, so that is a plus." "Have you noticed anything different or weird about the Dark Arts Professor?" "Yeah, now that you mention it, he never takes the turban off. A group of girls tried to spy on him to see if he washed his hair. Turns out, he doesn't."

"And he's a stuttering mess." "That's right, Neville. You've gotten better at not stuttering!" "Yeah. I only do it when I'm not nervou-s-s-s." "What's wrong, Neville?" "U-U-um, I'll go now!" Karlito chuckled slightly as he scampered away. "What happened?" Karlito turned around to see Malfoy, his goons, and...Thalia? "Isn't this a turn of events?"

Thalia snarled. "Just shut it. We came to locate Potter." "He's where he's always been." Malfoy, the weak and small minded boy, tried to step up to Karlito. "And where is that? Out with that stinking mudblood?" "Yep. I couldn't tell you where." "I oughta tell the school about your little secret."

Karlito frowned. "What secret, my friend?" "The fact that you are a half demigod." Karlito's demeanor immediately did a one eighty. No way in hell did they just tell Draco Malfoy about their truth, but not Karlito's friends and he? This only convinced him more that the half bloods were the enemy. "I don't know what you are talking about. I'm guessing Thalia told you about this lie?" "Yeah, and so what? I know it's the truth. That day, when we first got here, your boat slowed down and sped up by the will of you. How so?"

"Magic, Malfoy. Any magician can do more." "Without their wand?" "Yep. Duh, think, dumbass. Dumbledore could literally wave his hand with slight intentions, and send wards across the school." Malfoy's face grimaced. "That's your problem. You trust the old man." Karlito snarled. "Who says I did? Now, get out of my face, Malfoy." Malfoy trailed back and yelled as he left. "This isn't over!" Karlito exhaled and sat down.

Neville slid back down. "You were brave to stand up to him." "If he gives you any trouble, you should too." "I'm not as courageous as you or Harry." "We aren't courageous as you think we seem. We just don't like bullies. The strongest one in our group is Hermione." "What do you mean?" "Take it how you will." Karlito got up and got his back sack for class. "Neville." "Yes?" "You could be brave if you really wanted to. You just have to find those people to be brave for. Harry and Hermione are those people for me. I would be brave for you too, Neville." Karlito leaned over as he exited out. "That sounded so gay." He said silently as he exited to attend Double Potions.

Double Potions was, in fact a large pain. First of all, it was Double Potions with Hufflepuff, meaning all of the demigods were in one room. Second of all, it was so cold during the morning, you couldn't tell your finger from your toe when. the frost started to form.

And Snape was a bastard. He would get covers for himself, and assign a potion that needed maximum movements. He would chuckle haughtily until he was out of breath. Meanwhile, his students suffered.

November was coming up fast. Karlito knew they had a break soon. Where would he go? Hermione's place? Maybe, but her parents didn't know him. The Weasley's place sounded more likely, since Bean was there. Could he bring Bean to Hogwarts? Maybe.

Snape had just assigned a Pepper Up Potion for Promfrey, so Karlito and Neville got to work. Karlito didn't know why he partnered with the guy as of late, but Neville was pretty good if you got to know him. Everyone laughed at him, but Karlito had got past his stuttering and nervousness. The guy was a cool person.

Karlito put the grassy ingredients in the bowl. "Now, Neville, grind these while I boil the water." The boy complied. Once the water was boiled, Karlito assigned Neville a new task. "Get me some green beans from the cabinet." Neville did. "Now next, drop them into the pot." He did. "Now, stir counterclockwise for three turns, then stir clockwise the same time."

Neville did so.

Karlito looked at the potion. "It's good. Let's show it to Snape." They did. "It's alright." Snape didn't want to give the duo any credit. "It is passable. Wait until it is time to leave." Karlito and Neville sat down at their spot. "Thanks to you, I finally got a good grade in here." Karlito only smiled. "No worries. Just pay it forward to someone else."

They had Charms and Transfiguration before lunch. Karlito worked with Percy in Transfiguration, but you could tell the energy wasn't good. At lunch, the demigods sat at the Hufflepuff table, while the wizards sat at the end of the Gryffindor table. The three were even more isolated from their peers.

It was soon to be a disturbance when Jason got up and walked to the Gryffindor table. He sat by Hermione. She was about to tell him off but Jason shushed her. He then talked in an quiet voice. "Meet us outside of the first floor bathroom for prefects. Don't tell anyone you're going, alright?" Karlito nodded his head. Harry huffed but didn't object. Hermione simply giggled. "Okay."

Karlito soon got up with Harry and Hermione to go to Defence Against The Dark Arts. Karlito could feel the demigods following close behind. They entered. In this class, there were a fourth Gryffindors, a fourth Ravenclaws, a fourth Slytherin, and a fourth Hufflepuff.

This class was a little different. All the teachers with no classes had come to supervise a dueling session. The kids seen with the most talent were the ones who would be allowed to participate. And they were in this room.

Draco Malfoy, Gregory Goyle, Vincent Crabbe, Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson were there for Slytherin. For Gryffindor, there was Karlito, Hermione, Harry, Thalia, and Annabeth. For Ravenclaw, it was Sue Li, Terry Boot, Beatrice Golden, John Macklemore, and Sally-Anne Perks. For Hufflepuff, it was Percy, Jason, Justin Flinch-Fletchly, Micheal Corner, and Megan Jones.

Karlito looked around at the impressive group. Defence was moved to the library, for which reason no one seemed to know. It was apparent when students started to file in. "They are surveying us." "What?" Percy said. "Well, some are angry that they didn't get picked, and want to see who was better than them. If you don't want to get clowned or picked, you'd better bring your A game." Percy smiled. "I never bring less."

The battle was to go as this. You wouldn't fight anyone from your house until potentially the third round. The judges, which were McGonagall, Snape, Flitwick, Promfrey, and Irma Pince, were to pick who was the best magician out of the first year. The selections were based on behavior, grades, and approvals from other teachers.

Dumbledore himself had made this decision. Karlito wondered why, just before break?

As people filed in, grown ups came. It was people from the ministry, looking forward to seeing the future. After 15 more minutes, they had to pick slots from a box labeled 1-20. Once it was Karlito's turn, he picked 11. That meant he would have to face number ten. Any guesses on who picked number ten?

Annabeth Chase.

Karlito was more afraid do go against her than anyone. She didn't have lightning power, or couldn't fly or control water, but she was the smartest person he had ever met.

Karlito sat on the bench, mulling. Harry had picked number one against Flinch-Fletchly, who picked twenty. Harry won easily. Karlito was so bored. He realized it would be a long time before he went.
