A week later - "The Scoundrel's Den" - The Futekigō Clan base of operations - An abandoned school in the Inarigumi turf. - Fa and Lùn's room.
Fa was on edge. They were just three hours out from Lùn's big night. Big night, she thought. Right. Her friend- no her sister was jumping headlong into a practical death sentence and she was being completely complicit in it. What kind of sister does that? Fa wondered to herself.
All those negative thoughts and emotions that she had pushed aside for her sister's goal, for the welfare of the Inarigumi, it all came back at her full force, bringing with it a nearly crippling sense of dread that weighed heavily on the mixed red fox. This could well be the last time she ever saw Lùn, and she still really hadn't said anything about it ever since they set this up.
She had been behind her the whole way, through the training, through the conditioning, through the preparations. Through all that, there wasn't any maybe we should reconsider or maybe this just isn't the way. No. She had swallowed her doubts to be supportive. She was just allowing this all to happen. The closest she had come to fully shut this down was in the raccoon's office, when Lùn started demanding any fighter no matter the size. Even then she barely said anything substantial to end this. Lùn herself wouldn't hear it. Now, tonight was the night.
Now, she was just sitting across from her, casually eating what could possibly be their last meal together. Their last meal. Lùn could die tonight. She thought. And you are just okay with that? Turf wars and heists are one thing, you can watch her back there, but this? She was practically doing this on her own, fighting a guy three times her size. This is basically her suicide and you helped tie the noose around her neck! The bat-eared mix wanted to help her sister in any way she could, but this. This was maddening. Then to make matters worse, Lùn seemed even more depressed about it than she was!
It was like that morning in The Foxcatch all over again. There she was prodding at her half eaten plate as if the meat meant nothing to her. As if today meant nothing to her. This was her first step towards her goal and yet the pygmy vixen's demeanor looked the opposite of ready. There was no excitement, no energy, just a depressed look of aimlessness. This was the girl that was so set on cutting down anyone to get her revenge. Just moping layabout. Anger was beginning to overshadow the worry that was gnawing at her conscience.
"Sis…" Fa called out from across the table, nearly sawing into the plate itself in half as she angrily cut a piece of roast. "Sis, you're not eating your roasted rabbit. S'matter?"
"I-I think I'm full." Lùn said as she lazily bit at the final piece off of a chicken leg. The rabbit roast on her plate remained untouched.
Full? But she always loved eating rabbit.
"But you just ate a leg. That's it? You need to eat up, you're going to need all your strength tonight."
"I know, but I'm just... not hungry anymore." The short fox said, dropping the mostly dry bone on the plate.
"Lùn- I"
"I'm fine. I think I'm just going to go workout for a bit and get ready." She said pushing her plate away, getting up from the table.
"You sure? You know this is the one of the few times we're allowed to eat some real meat for once, you can at least savor the occasion it...you never kno-"
Lùn had already walked out of the room, before she had even finished.
"Okay, we're doing this now." Fa growled to herself as she got up and followed. Something was eating at her and she had a feeling she knew what. She probably was scared just like she was and this was all one big mistake.
The taller fox hastily caught up with her sister and pulled her aside. "Shortstop, what the hell is wrong with you?" She bluntly asked. "This is...well this is what you wanted and you're acting like you've been given the worst news possible. You are on your way!"
"I just want to get it over with is all." Lùn dismissively said, a hint of boredom was picked up in her voice.
"Oh? What happened to all that bravado you were flaunting in the raccoon's office, huh? What happened to proving yourself?! If anything, I-I should be the downer here." Fa said pointing at herself.
"Well I do want to prove myself!" Lùn growled as she shoved her sister off.
"Then what's your problem?! I would have thought you'd be excited or anxious right now." Fa asked. "You're going against a big fighter like you wanted. What?! Are you doubting yourself?!"
"Only a little...I guess, I mean I was anxious...a week ago, but part of me now is just... so disinterested. Like I don't know if this is worth it."
"I-I -I can't believe this …" Fa was beside herself as she began to stammer. "You are saying you let your big mouth get you in trouble again?!"
"Well...I-" The little fox started off.
"Don't forget I was going to fix your way in, have you take on someone easy, but noooo, you had to shoot that down! You were so damn adamant on doing this fair ! Now you're just going to chicken out?!"
"I'm not afraid or anything Fa!" The pygmy shouted. "I'm not a coward! It's just... I don't feel like fighting this guy. If that makes any sense."
"No… No it doesn't make any sense! You're going to have to win this! Survive this! Y'know if you want to fight your rabbit! That was the deal!"
"I knoooow, but this...it's not as exciting as I thought it'd be. It just... feels like a chore." She whined.
"A chore?!" Fa shouted as she slapped her little sister. "Lùn! You can die doing this! The odds are that you will! You need to take this seriously! I don't want…" She stopped and took a deep breath as she tried to weather the fear and guilt cascading into her like rough waves hitting a dock in a hurricane. "I-I'm scared for you okay? I don't think… I don't think I'll have what it takes to drag what''ll probably be what's left of you out of there."
"Fa..."
"Just promise me. Promise me you will focus and take this seriously!"
Meanwhile in the present - The Arena
"Fa...I Promise."
"I'm going to take this seriously. Somehow."
She was wearing the outfit Fa got for her first fight. A white silk jacket with INARI-CHAN and a fox head stencil emblazoned on the back worn over an emerald green crop top that matched her eyes, along with a pair of skin tight black knee-length shorts that she had picked out because they felt comfortable to move in. It was stylish, probably too much for a fight, but it was keeping to the Inarigumi's edict for looking good and sent the message of their grace. She also had a pair of old white sneakers that she wouldn't mind getting some blood on. Her fists had also been wrapped and taped by Fa earlier, only her sharp nails poked out. They would be her weapons alongside the two kukri blades she brought in with a tethered configuration. Not bad for my first outing, she thought to herself.
The crowd was particularly riled up tonight, the violence-hungry beasts were all clamoring for more after two previous contests had mixed results. The first had been a real slugfest that just left both fighters battered, but alive. The victor, some , just barely winning because he was the beast standing. Their respective parties had to carry both of them out of the cage.
While the latest one ended with a very typical fatality for this arena. The winner, a savage lioness named Kusa, went and tore out her opponent's throat in brutal fashion ensuring Baraki would at least get a corpse for the market trade.
Now it was the third match of the evening, her match, just before the final fight where someone would take on who she really wanted to defeat. Lùn had to bury the thoughts of uncertainty for both her future and the rabbit's, while Baraki did his job, hyping up the crowd as her opponent, Tasca the Longhorn made his entrance. He wasn't a particularly well liked guy in the market apparently, judging from the amount of jeering and stuff thrown at him coming out the gate. The steer kept a cocky and confident smile as he headed into what he had to have thought would be an easy payday.
"BEASTS OF THE BACK ALLEY MARKET! YOU'VE SEEN THE PSYCHO, THE CRAZY MURDEROUS PINT-SIZE HERBIVORE THAT TAKES ON ALL COMERS! NOW I PRESENT WHAT COULD BE HER EQUAL WITH FANGS AND CLAWS! THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS! WE GOT US A CARNIVORE MADE FROM THE SAME MOLD!"
That was her cue. It was now or never. There was a bit of unease before she took a step forward. She took another and kept walking. You're doing this. She wasn't scared of the guy, she'd killed before, this wasn't anything new. Her nerves weren't bad or anything, it's just she still didn't feel excited about coming out here.
HAILING FROM THE PATRONS OF OUR HUMBLE ESTABLISHMENT, THE INARIGUMI PRESENT US WITH A NEW FIGHTER! RUMORED TO HAVE FOUGHT THE PSYCHO AND LIVED! DON'T JUDGE HER BY HER SIZE AND FEAST YOUR EYES! COMING OUT TO FACE TASCA IS LÙN THE RED FOX! SHE'S HERE FOR A CHANCE AT REVENGE AND SHE WILL GO THROUGH ANYONE TO GET IT! EVEN A BRUTE THREE TIMES HER SIZE! WILL WE CATCH LIGHTING IN A BOTTLE?! LET'S FIND OUT!
Lùn was almost deafened as she came out walking towards the cage where her opponent stood waiting. The roar lowered back a few decibels, as the crowd observed the pygmy make her way down. It was still loud, but with a lot of murmuring: things like her size, what kind of fox she really was, how they'd let a kid come down here, or how long this match would last. It didn't matter or discourage her, she'd heard comments like that all her life. All that mattered was figuring how to beat this Tasca guy.
"So they are just throwing me some aimless kid?" A gruff male voice said opposite her as the cage doors slammed shut.
"Hmm?" She said as she returned from her stupor.
"Most people tend to focus when their life is in jeopardy. Least you can do is be awake, before I crush you." The voice said again.
"Oh right, you ." She muttered as she stood opposite the towering brute of a beast that was Tasca the Bull.
"Oh, right me? What?! How the hell are you just now noticing me? What are you high or something?"
Looking like he just left a pickup game of basketball, the burly black long-horn was an imposing figure standing in front of the fox. He eclipsed her small body easily, she at best came up to his waist, his gut if you included her tall ears. He was missing one of his horns, probably knocked off in a brutal fight or maybe he sold it to make ends meet.
There was nothing former about this prize fighter at all. He was still a fine specimen of muscle, definitely in shape. She wasn't going to win this on strength, not by longshot. He also seemed to still have the ego that sometimes went with the former profession, narcissistic grandeur that became annoyed that everything didn't revolve around them.
"Maybe if I pretend...no no no...ugh." She said disgusted. He was the complete opposite of Kyuu. Nothing about him really got her in the mood to fight with him at all.
"The hell?" The bull huffed hot air out of his nostrils in a fit of annoyance. "That damn raccoon could at least have damn decency to give me a real fight, not some clueless child. Goddammit! Have I sunk so low to come to this?"
"Child? I'm practically an adult, you jerkass."
"YEAH!? Well I guess now I'll feel less bad about stamping you into the ground you little spaced out Runt !"
Runt
Runt
Runt
Years ago - Forest Park Middle School for Carnivore Youth.
"Go play in the small breed playground you mixed breed Runt! This is for the regular sized carnivores."
Middle school was a rough time for Lùn. It was bad enough she was a mixed breed, but this was right around when she had stopped growing alongside Fa and it became apparent she took after her father and his species' small stature. The teasing never got to her, but the one that came the closest was Eldridge.
"Your dad was a Fennec fox, right? You know...I always wonder how your parents have you? I mean think about it your mom's a regular sized Red fox. They had to use a baster or something!" Eldridge the Black-backed Jackal teased her. He above all the other kids had made it his mission to get to her, this time he really succeeded.
Lùn leaped on the jackal in a rage and buried her fist into his snout and followed up with another. "They are going to need a baster to feed you when I'm done!" She screamed as she continued to pummel the male jackal, as all the other kids gathered round to see the fight. "What's the matter, dog?! Didn't expect this from a runt?!" Throwing a punch with every word.
Back in the present
"Runt..." Lùn's fire ignited as she began growling feral at longhorn. "...That should do it." Her fur and tail both spike as locked eyes with the bovine. "Thank you…now I have an ample reason to kill you now."
"Oh?" The bull chuckled amused. "What you're going to bite my ankles?"
The gong had sounded and in a flurry of motion, an enraged Lùn with lightning speed whipped her blades and lashed his wrists together with the cords.
"Wha-" He said looking down to his fresh bindings.
"HYAAAAH!"
He looked up, just in time to see her leaping in the air. Her soles collided with his jaw, topping him with a drop kick packing with the force of a larger animal's haymaker. With him on his back she began pummeling him as hard as she could.
"How's this for a runt?!" She shouted in between each punch.
"Well you're full of piss and vinegar at least!" Tasca said as he smashed his skull into her snout. Lùn was flung back into the cage. "You're going to have to hit a lot harder than that to put me away." The bruised bull said sitting up.
Back then
"Oh, so aren't just a nerveless weakling huh?" A bloodied Eldridge said as he bit down hard on her wrist. Lùn shrieked and punched him in the eye, but the canine held on tight as he slugged her really hard. "You're-still-a-freak!" He said as his fist smashed into her snout.
Back In the present
For as long as she had hit him in her rage, all she really accomplished was lightly tenderizing his face and hurting her knuckles. Her nose was completely numb and she had the iron taste of blood in her mouth. Her own blood. Her fists also were starting to feel stiff and were bleeding from cuts on her knuckles, judging from the red seeping through the wraps.
Baraki and Fa were right. She thought. Temper isn't going to get me anywhere, not with this guy.
While he unloosened his bindings, Lún tried to shake off the aching headache and recover. She rubbed her face which felt she had just got pelted by a brick. Her snout, at least the part that was closest to her eyes still had some sensation in it, throbbing pain. She couldn't afford to get hit by this guy. You're going to have to be light on your feet. If that rabbit can do this, you can
Tasca finally managed to escape and jumped to his feet, kicking her weapons to the side. Lùn made sure to track where they had slid and knew the first order of business was to retrieve them as soon as possible. She turned her attention back to the bull.
"This ought to soften you up s'more." He said as he pulled a curved tire iron from his back pants pocket.
"Tasca steps up to the plate!" He yelled as he swung the pipe like a bat. The fox let out a brief pain filled shriek as the iron clipped one her tall ears as she ducked almost too late. It hadn't torn or cut any tissue, but her throbbing ear was almost distractingly tender as air brushed past it. Coming back, Tasca swung the pipe down like a barbarian with a club, but Lùn used his over swing to roll out of the way and scoop up her blades. She was able to flip back on her feet, but her posture was a bit sloppy.
"Oooh fancy." He mocked as he squared up against her with a sadistic grin showing off his flat bovine teeth.
"So what if you got your pokers back? They still aren't going to save you!" He shouted approaching her looking for an opening.
"Well this is familiar." She commented, admiring the irony of the situation. It was almost amusing, though the pain as her throbbing ear flicked kept her grounded enough to focus. It was in a way nostalgic, not too long ago, she stood exactly in Tasca's place in front of Kyuu in that alleyway. Now she was the weakling.
"Y'know...This is familiar too! " The bull shouted as he closed the distance swinging his pipe down at her head. "I remember caving in a dumb dog's skull just like this!"
This time she cleanly ducked to the right out of the path of the lethal swipe. He swung after her again, catching her left blade, knocking it from her hand only for her to catch the cord on the tip of her nails. Hastily countering, she whipped the blade back towards him. The thick curved knife sang as it sailed through the air, ripping through his jersey and flesh. The bull winced, but did not stop. He swung the pipe up, breaking through her guard and shoulder rushed her, knocking her over.
On her back, she quickly raised her left guard as the pipe clanged against her kukri sword. The bull's strength was overwhelming, as he pressed the rod down into her face. Luckily it was blunt and she applied both hands to weather it. The bull snorted hot air on her as he pulled back for another strike, another down swing, but Lùn wasn't dumb enough to weather another and rolled away to safety, landing on her feet with both kukris in hand. Pissed off, the Bull charged her swinging, throwing his weight into every strike but it was clear the bull was no swordsman. She just needed to avoid his taxing strikes and wait for the moment to strike. He overswung and Lùn took advantage. She ducked under and slashed his knee, briefly him down to her height. "HYAAAH!" She cried out as she leaped into a kick, striking him in the shoulder. However, the kick barely registered to the bull.
Right…what was I thinking?
"Oh, kid we're just beginning to have some fun." He said as he quickly snatched her by the sleeves of her Inarigumi jacket and hurled her across the cage. She was thrown clean from the jacket and collided with the mesh fence, slumping down dazed as the world spun. The bull's shadow loomed over her as he limped over ready to finish her off.
Weeks ago - The Scoundrel's Den Cafeteria/Lounge
"If someone bigger gets the upper hand on you, your first move obviously should be to turn the tables by any means. You can do this in many ways." Loba said before demonstrating with a leg sweep. "A leg sweep will work, but we might need to work on getting your legs toned for someone like a bull-
"Rex, you are so LOUD!" Said a drowsy voice from one of the couches. "You had to train her in my chill spot Lo'?
"This is where I do my training!" She shouted at the disembodied voice. "Is that you Raira?"
Raira, who had been sleeping off a bender, got up from the couch and table she had nestled under. She yawned stretching looking like hell and smelling like a couple of bottles. "We ain't got time for that crap. She's never going to have toned legs … You're just over complicating things for the poor girl." The cranky silver fox slurred drowsily as she dropped down to Lùn's level. "Look kid, just a reminder if you get your ass knocked down you don't need all that fancy judo crap or whatever. A good old fashion kick to the baby maker usually never fails. No matter what size you are!" An evil looking grin flashed on the pearl fox as she looked over her shoulder. "Even females!" She yelled as she delivered a swift kick right into Loba's nether regions.
The wox's eyes bulged as she keeled over. "My cooch... you cheap...!" She barely managed to say.
Raira could barely contain herself as Loba laid writhing on the floor hardly able to breathe. "Sorry babe just proving a point! No such thing as cheap in a real fight. Always remember that Loony!" She said erupting into shrill laughter.
"Rai'... going to kill you... when I get back up." Loba said weakly as she struggled to push herself off the ground.
Raira paid the big girl no mind, laughing until she started wheezing. "Maybe you'll learn from that! Next time you'll think twice before holding your dumb karate classes when I'm hung over Idiot!"
Back in the present
Tasca had a smug look on his brutish face as he stood over her ready to bring the iron down on top of her head. Lùn, remembering Raira's lesson, shot her foot as hard as she could right between his legs and got an instant reaction from the bull.
His eyes bulged as he was stopped in his tracks.
"Should... have... wore... a cup." Tasca groaned high pitched as he fell to his knees.
He dropped the iron on the floor as he tried to sooth his aching balls. Lùn almost stumbled as she sprang to action and retrieved her blades again. Before he could get up, she hurled her blades looping around his neck with the cord and jumped on his back in an attempt to throttle him to death. His neck was too thick for her regular strength however so she needed to put a bit more effort into it. Lashing another length around his neck, she pulled as hard as she could.
Panicking the bull began to jerk to-and-fro trying to eject her to no avail. Beginning to lose her grip on her blades, Lùn reached out and grabbed on to anything to keep hold, the bull's one horn. The bull bucked and spun trying to both throw her from his back and unloosen the cable choking him. The horn wasn't enough, Lùn was going to lose her grip so she bit down on the bull's ear to secure herself. Having had enough of this, the enraged bull gave up trying to unfasten the cords and just whipped his head as hard as he could. Lùn was flung away, though not without her ripping a chunk out of his ear.
"I hope you enjoyed that piece of ear because now you are going to choke on it!" He said as he scooped her off the floor and held her aloft by the throat. He smashed his fist right under eye, nearly knocking her out right there. He then knocked the wind out of her when he slammed the same fist into her side.
Lùn in agony, spat the ear chunk back into his face and attempted to grab one of her blades hanging off of Tasca's neck, however he instantly caught her wrist and a quick squeeze loosened her grip. "Well...can't say you weren't a fighter to the end. Now sleep." He said as he continued to squeeze into her neck, her body became limp as her other arm swayed by her side.
Last year - An alleyway of the Back-Alley Market
"We already see we're not going to get anything out this Tibetan bitch so you're going to talk before I rip your fangs out of your mouth!" A wolf gangster said as few of his subordinates held Fa up after a decent beating. It was the Ōkamigumi, an up and coming Wolf Yakuza in the Back-Alley Market muscling in on the other groups' turf.
"I ain't telling you a damn thing. So, go howl at the moon, tough guy!" Fa defiantly screamed as she was held up by a Ōkamigumi gang member.
"Go howl at the moon, huh?" The leader said with a half laugh before slugging Fa in the face, bruising her eye. "Brave. See right there fellas is what I love about the Vulpes, they aren't as cowardly as most people say their kind is, in a way I can respect that. Makes you Inarigumi worthy of being our cousins." He adjusted his fedora and leaned down to grin in Fa's bruised face. "Still I'd much rather hear how a fox howls. Kyono go get the pliers." He said tossing his keys to one of his goons to get some tools from the car trunk.
The subordinate nodded as he walked around the car he heard someone breathing. "Eh boss, I think we got an eavesdropper." He said as he spotted Lùn hiding behind the car. "C'mere!" He demanded as he snatched her up by the neck as she violently tried to escape.
"Let go! Let me go!" She screamed as she punched and beat at the much larger wolf's chest. "Let! Me! GO!"
"Well what's this?" The slimy wolf in charge inquired.
Fa tried to look away but it was too late, the Ōkamigumi leader was perceptive enough to tell the little fox meant something to her.
"Who's this your mascot or something? Hell, she even looks just like you with those big ears of hers." Then a thought crossed his mind. "I know... this couldn't be your little sister, right?." He leaned down to Fa and looked her in the eyes. "How about this, you tell me what I want to know and I don't have Kyono there squeeze the life out of her. That's a fair trade right?"
Lùn beat and punched at the wolf's chest in protest and reached for the wolf's shoulder holster pistol, but the wolf grabbed her arm.
"Ah ah ah, I don't think so." The wolf scolded her as he looked over to his boss waiting for the order.
Fa shook her head at Lùn as she couldn't divulge any information no matter what, but Lùn subtly nodded once to her. It was as if she knew what Fa had to do or...better yet she had a plan of her own.
"You'll just kill us anyway so I ain't talking!" She yelled with no choice but to play along.
The lead wolf looked to his henchman. "Kyono start squeezing slowly, we'll see if she really can stomach being tight lipped as she watches her sister die at a snail's pace." A mischievous grin spread across Lùn's face. Fa wasn't sure, but she swore she had seen a brief shining glint as if some sleight of hand took place and felt something was up.
"The hell are you smiling about?" The big wolf asked annoyed.
Back in the present
"What? What are you smiling about?" The bull asked as he bashed her against the cage. "Are you one of those weirdos that gets off on this? Want me to squeeze harder HUH?" He yelled, tightening his grip around her neck. "How disgusting." The hot air huffing from his nostrils blew across her face.
"No..." She croaked, nearly on the verge of passing out.
"Then why do you have that smile on your face?!" Before he could finish and caution could flash through his mind, he got his answer and deep piercing pain.
She had stabbed him right above his neckline. "I'm happy because you weren't looking." she managed to croak. Earlier when her arms had gone limp, she had grabbed hold of the other blade hanging off of his neck like a necklace. Before he could react and squeeze harder, Lùn quickly yanked the knife out and with a reverse grip slashed the weighted end of kukri deep through the bull's neck.
"AAAGH No Waaaurgk-!" Was all he could spout as his mouth filled with his own blood. Blood bathed the little fox's face as she jerked the blade from his wound to ensure he would bleed out. Tasca immediately dropped her, cupping his neck in vain in an attempt to stop the bleeding, the blood spurting through his fingers. He was able to stand for mere seconds before he stumbled to the ground.
The bull's body was that of a skyscraper crashing down, Lùn having seconds to react and scrambling out of the way or else flattened by the dead weight of the steer. In a last-ditch effort to take her with him the bull reached out and only managed to clip her head burying her under his arm. Then everything went dark.
Back then
Lùn in a quick motion slit the wolf's throat with his own butterfly knife that she had lifted from his jacket pocket. It had been a slight of hand, she had noticed it the first time when she went for his gun, and when he looked away like an idiot, she had lifted it off him.
"Gack! You..." Was all he could speak before she buried the knife into his throat and pulled his handgun from his shoulder holster. As soon as she hit the ground, she nudged his body over and used it for cover as she fired at the gangster holding Fa hostage, blowing a hole in his temple.
"You little shit!" The leader shouted as he pulled his own gun and fired into the fallen goon's corpse.
Fa taking the initiative, retrieved her own handgun from her captor and blew the leader away while he was preoccupied. With all the Ōkamigumi dispatched she rushed over to check on Lùn.
"Lùn! Lùn! Answer me damn it!" She said trying to shake the dead wolf's corpse looking for her sister. "No...Come on move you piece of trash" She cried out desperately trying to pry the big wolf's body off of her sister.
"I'm alright." Said a shrill voice as two tall familiar ears popped out from under the corpse. "See Fa I can handle myself." She croaked happily as she began coughing violently. "Don't you think I'm ready to join you girls for real?"
"Don't fucking scare me like that again, you hear?!" Fa said, looking very haggard, trying to hold back tears as she hugged her as hard as she could.
"I'm going to be okay too..." A voice from behind them said feebly. It was Ferro, though she had taken quite a beating from earlier and could barely stand. "Might have spoken too soo-." The tan fox said before collapsing from a concussion.
Back in the Present
Lùn awoke to loud noise. She was buried under the heap of bull she had slain, his life force finally petering out as he had drowned in his own blood. Lùn managed to steadily crawl free from the bovine corpse and stood clumsily to greet the roaring arena around her. Her snout hurt like hell, in fact her whole face was killing her. Still the noise of the crowd cheering for her victory was almost a very soothing remedy.
"WE HAVE A WINNER!" Baraki's voice shouted from the loudspeaker. " WHAT A MATCH! LOOKS LIKE THE MARKET IS GETTING SOME PRIME BEEF TONIGHT! JUST KEEP YOUR EYES ON THIS RISING STAR! THE PSYCHO BETTER WATCH HER FLUFFY LITTLE TAIL! THIS LITTLE BLADE IS COMING FOR YOU!"
It wasn't that spectacular a fight, she mostly ran and cut him a bit. If she hadn't been observant enough he would have choked her out easily. Still, the raccoon knew what he was doing, just hamming it up to "get her over" as he called it.
She walked slowly, exhausted as the adrenaline wore off, and almost everything hit her at once. She barely was able to pick up her Inarigumi jacket and threw it over her shoulder. Her body told her to drop, now, but luckily Fa was waiting at the cage entrance ready to support her. She scooped up her sister and hugged her tight, much to Lùn's protest, her body ached like nobody's business.
"I thought I told you not to scare me like that!" Fa cried, looking like an emotional wreck as her makeup had run all over her face. It was from all the sobbing she did watching Lùn's fight, but still seeing she had survived brought warmth to her heart. "Rex, what did he do to you?" She beckoned for Loba to come over and try to administer first-aid as she gingerly tried to cradle the small fox in her arms like a child. "Don't worry, I'm not going to drop you." She assured her.
As they began to drag Tasca's corpse from the ring, she saw her, the rabbit, making her way down to the cage with her Llama partner.
Lùn made Fa stop so she could get the lop rabbit's attention. "You saw that right?" She asked.
"What? That?" The rabbit looked at the corpse and then back to her. "Not bad. I'm impressed." Kyuu said, a modicum of respect in her tone.
"The rematch is coming so don't you die yet." The fox demanded.
"You too." The rabbit nodded with a confident smirk on her face.
