8. Request 3: Cookies
"Fox, thanks for coming and making cookies with me." Riyo smiled at her boyfriend, Fox. They were in Riyo's senatorial apartment, baking Life Day cookies to bring to the Senate Guard.
"You're welcome." Fox grumbled, grimacing at his apron. Riyo only had two, and the one that fit Fox was the evilest of colors.
No, not ochre, or bright green. Pink. That horrid color.
Riyo took out the cookies from the oven, and started to take them off the pan and onto a rack to cool. "Those smell delicious" Fox thought. He reached for one…
Riyo swatted his hand away from them."Fox, do you want some for decorating or not?"
"Sorry, Senator." he mumbled.
"Riyo, Fox." She corrected playfully. Riyo grabbed a bowl, with uncolored royal icing, and dropped a few drops of food coloring. Fox did so, too. But when he stirred in the coloring, he stirred too vigorously, and it splattered all on his face. Riyo laughed. It was so silly and childish, that Fox couldn't help but laugh too.
They laughed together for a long time. When Riyo and Fox calmed down, the cookies had cooled sufficiently.
"Time to decorate!" said Riyo. They got to work, stuffing royal icing into piping bags and making endearingly messy designs on the cookies.
This was truly the most wonderful time of the year.
I have a dare for y'all: go somewhere there's a lotta Christmas decor, and yell "RIGHTS FOR TREES!"
