I immediately stand up. All the color has drained from Peeta's face. Prim doesn't even pull away. She kisses him back.
I can't believe Finn did this. He knows that they both won't make it out of their alive. This will break Prim's heart.
"Um what just happened," Ellia says from across the cave.
"Nothing you need to worry about," Finn answers.
The camera cuts out there and now we can see the Careers at their base camp. They have set up camp inside the Cornucopia and moved everything closer to the front so their camp is hidden. It's hard to not think they are smart because they would be able to kill any person who comes in to get supplies. Only Tassel is injured, but even then, it is minor and can be wrapped up easily in a bandage.
The only other tributes left besides Prim's group and the Careers are Amelia from 10 and Autumn from 5. They have camped on the far side of the area and seem to be allies.
Only ten tributes left. These Games are going to be short it seems.
*the next day*
I wake up to find I have slept all night. Peeta never woke me up. He sees my frustration with this and before I can say anything he says, "Nothing interesting happened so I let you sleep."
He is right. All the tributes are still alive.
"Oh, ok. Thank you," I say and he lays down on the couch to get some sleep.
It wasn't until mid morning when something interesting happened. The Careers started fighting each other. This usually happened in the Games but it never usually happened until the very end.
Venus and Sapphire had accused Pearl and Tassel of stealing and eating extra food because their supply seemed low. The verbal fight turned into a physical one and Pearl killed Sapphire with a knife. That's when Venus separated from the group and ran off by herself. Now it was just Pearl and Tassel.
