As the camera opens up, Chris is revealed in a closet with Chef tied up in a chair in front of him. The host pulls the ropes tighter and tighter until Chef eventually growls at him and he lets go of them, causing them to come undone and allow his partner to walk away freely.
"Last time on Total Drama Space Station: the contestants started to get more comfortable being themselves, namely Luna, who had no problem being snappy at the other astronauts, and Crustacean, who joined Anne in a bit of joking around. When time came for the challenge, guiding a space monkey to its banana tree, the Penguins showed that they had excellent leadership capabilities, Vicente specifically, who crafted a plan to keep his whole team useful. However, the Guppies had a bit of trouble when Alex tried to take control of the challenge by himself. It wasn't until Damien stopped daydreaming that his team actually caught the monkey, but by that team it was too late. And much to my displeasure, Alex ruined my fun at the elimination ceremony when he voluntarily left the game in what could be seen as an apology to his team. The Guppies are down two astronauts, will they be able to make a comeback? Or perhaps they'll continue to lose useful people one after the other? Find out, right now, on Total Drama Space Station!"
As the opening starts, the Chris space station is revealed and quickly zoomed into, showing cameras all over the corridors and traveling through them and reaching the captain's chambers, where Chris is shown. He shines an evil smirk before the camera zooms past, showing outside of glass in his room.
"Dear mom and dad, I'm doing fine," the lyrics start while Alex is shown in his orange spacesuit, trying to befriend a space monkey, which, in its scaly, grotesque, but somehow still fluffy appearance, swims through the empty space away from him. Slightly to the left of him is Natt, in his black spacesuit, clapping unenthusiastically.
"You guys are on my mind," the camera pulls back inside, showing the cafeteria where Gretchen playing her guitar on top of one of the tables, while Jianne covers her ears, disapproving of the noise.
"You asked me what I wanted to be, now I think the answer's plain to see," Thomas is seen peering into the captain's chambers, before turning to smile and wave at the camera. The camera slides over quickly, showing Luna and Liz shaking hands while crossing their fingers behind their backs, each with a sneaky smile across their faces.
"I wanna be famous," Damien is seen on a stage, performing in his own little play, before the door to the room is opened by Benjamin, causing the former to stop what he was doing.
"I wanna live close to the sun," Dusty is by the pool, showing March, who is clearly mortified, pictures of some horses from back home.
"So, pack your bags, cause I've already won," Taylor is lounging by the pool as Nicolás jumps in, splashing water on her and causing her to start yelling at him.
"Everything to do, nothing in my way. I'll get there one day," Haley and Sebastian are seen together in the gym, both looking away from each other while whistling awkwardly.
"I wanna be famous," Vicente is seen on the other side of the gym being chased by several interns with cameras.
"Na na na na na na na na na," Chef is seen in the kitchen, inspecting the astronaut meals in their small packages, and opening one labeled, 'popcorn,' causing the room to fill up with popcorn and Anne, just outside the kitchen door, to laugh hysterically. Chef then bursts out of the room and starts to yell at an unsuspecting Flint, who then realizes that he has similar, 'popcorn,' bags in his hands.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous," Alexis is seen tinkering with a control panel, in the dark. The lights then flicker on and she gives a thumbs up before the camera pans over to Archie in the observation room, where the lights flicker off and he lets out an annoyed sigh.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous," Crustacean is seen in the same room, clipping a wire on a control panel and bringing the lights back on, before the camera pans up to show the galaxy, panning back down after to reveal Tony among the other contestants, showing them some fake watches with a huge smile on his face as they are all seen whistling in chairs with Chris in a room full of escape pods.
When the opening finishes, Liz is seen in her room, combining various chemicals once again. As she uses an eye dropper to add some yellow to the already bright red liquid in a beaker. Upon seeing two liquids collide, and not explode, she wipes her brow and stirs it up, putting a cork in it to seal it, before heading out of her room and into the hallway. She peaks around, looking to see if anybody is nearby. Upon seeing nobody, she starts hurrying towards the captain's quarters, accidentally losing her grip and dropping the vial onto the floor in front Gretchen's room. Seeing this, she gasps, and hurries back into her own room, shutting the door quickly. Not even two seconds later, a loud, booming voice can be heard throughout the hall.
"Aw, what the hell!?" Gretchen can be heard screaming, causing the other Penguins to open their own doors and see the liquid in front of her room. As she opens her own door, she can be seen trying to plug her nose to avoid smelling this thing. "Who threw this stink bomb at my door?"
She looks around at her teammates, all who seem to be unaware of what's going on, but clearly being able to smell the horrendous stench of the chemical mixture, with them now plugging their own noses. She then notices that Liz's door is still shut, and stomps over towards it, banging loudly on the door.
"Uh, I'm not here right now," comes the nervous voice of Liz.
Suddenly, the door slams open, with an angry Gretchen standing at it, her arms crossed.
"Ok, Miss Science. What gives?"
"It was an accident, I was going to throw it at Chris's door!"
"So why is it in front of my door?"
"Uh...I dropped it?"
"Whatever, I'm heading downstairs where it doesn't smell like rotten eggs."
Gretchen starts to walks away and the other Penguins look over at Liz.
"What?"
"Well," starts Dusty, "I get a feeling she's pretty upset at ya."
"I'm aware of that much."
"So," comes Flint's voice, "Maybe you should apologize?"
"But it wasn't on purpose."
"She's still upset," says Natt with his dull tone.
"I know that."
"So say you're sorry," adds Vicente.
"But it was an accident."
Liz's team sighs at this point, aware that they aren't getting through to her on this point. They all start heading after Gretchen, leaving the scientist a little confused about what exactly is going on.
Confessional
"I'm not sure I understand," starts Liz, scratching her chin, "I made it clear that it was an accident, why would Gretchen still be mad at me?"
"I think I've got a new song in the works," Gretchen grumbles to herself before starting to hum some pretty aggressive sounding tunes to herself.
Confessional End
The next thing to be seen is the large gathering of the many contestants and Chris in the lobby, where the host is happily swinging some ropes like lassos while he whistles. Dusty appears intrigued about what he's doing exactly.
"Well, howdy doody everybody," he starts as he drops the lassos on the ground next to him. "It's challenge time!"
"Oh, joy," says Luna, rolling her eyes.
"We're once again doing a challenge on board, this time, it's a classic move of a criminal who has their back against the wall. A hostage situation!"
"Hostages?" asks Thomas. "So we're kidnapping each other?"
"Not quite. You'll actually be volunteering one of your teammates to be the hostage today! Your team's hostage will be tied up in a chair and guarded by the enemy team. Your goal is to send your most capable rescuers to save the hostage from their kidnappers."
"We can volunteer someone to be the hostage?" asks Jianne, a bright grin upon her face.
"Sure can!"
"Well, that's just silly," says Luna, closing her eyes and crossing her arms. She opens them again to see that her entire team is pointing at her. "Hey, what gives? I don't want to be the hostage!"
"Too late! Luna will be the hostage for the Guppies. Penguins?"
"I suggest goggles over there," Gretchen says, gesturing to Liz.
"But that makes no sense," the scientist replies, "Surely I can be of use in this challenge."
"Yup, by not being there."
"We're choosing little Liz?" asks a confused Benjamin. "Alrighty then."
"What? No!"
"While I don't want to be rude," enters the voice of Vicente, "You are the smallest of us and I'm sure about how athletic you are. Perhaps you should just play hostage."
"I can't believe this...you guys are gonna regret this!"
"So that settles it, you two are the hostages," says Chris gleefully.
"Hurray," Luna says, irritated.
"Oh, did I mention that the hostages can't be eliminated tonight?"
"Wait, what now?" asks Liz.
"Yup," he continues, "You can't really do anything at all, so you'll be immune from elimination tonight, regardless of what happens during the challenge."
"Aw, come on!" exclaims a now annoyed Jianne.
"Them's the rules! Now, your next task is to choose two of your teammates to guard the hostage. Choose wisely."
The Guppies huddle together closely, thinking about what to do.
"Well, maybe it's a good thing that Luna is the hostage," says Damien, "She's not incredibly agile or anything."
"That's true," replies Sebastian, "As far as guarding the hostage goes though, I think one of our guards should be Thomas."
"Me?" Thomas asks, trying to see where his teammate is coming from.
"Yeah," says March, chirping cheerfully, "You're pretty strong, you should have no issues keeping Liz locked up tight."
"I suppose, but who would be our other guard?"
"Well, sorry to interrupt," says Haley, looking down shyly, "Maybe I could do it? I know a lot of martial arts so I'm pretty good at that kind of thing."
"Yippee," says the unenthusiastic Archie, "It's settled then."
The camera pans over the Penguins, who are also huddled up, trying to figure out a plan.
"Well, we know that Dusty's probably our most capable for this," starts Vicente, "Maybe you should be one of the guards?"
"Darn tootin'!" Dusty replies, excited already.
Confessional
"Well, butter me up and call me toast," starts Dusty, "I'd best not let my team down today! We used to play a game back at home that was similar, but we used pigs fer it. And let me tell ya, they never ever caught my pig!"
Confessional End
"As far as our other guard goes...what about Gretchen?" Vicente asks, "You're pretty tough, you could easily keep them off of Luna."
"Well," Gretchen starts, "I guess so."
"Sweet, we're settled then! Let's do this!"
As Vicente once again guides his team, Tony turns away from them and rolls his eyes.
Confessional
"Vicente is some good competition," Tony starts, an evil glint in his eye, "But he's too friendly and our team follows him pretty closely. If I don't do something soon...well...he might prove to be a nuisance later."
Confessional End
"Alright!" starts Chris, excited as usual, "Your team's guards have ten minutes to get the hostage situated in a room. The guards will be posted outside of the room, with the door shut, so the only way to get to the hostage is by going through them. Capiche? Get to hiding!"
Thomas and Haley hurriedly grab Liz and their rope, running off in one direction, while Gretchen and Dusty take Luna in a different direction.
"Hey, watch the hands!" says Luna, not wanting to be handled in such a manner.
The camera then pans over Thomas and Haley, who are tying Liz up in Chris's room.
"This is perfect, no one will expect it!" Thomas exclaims, seemingly studying the room closely.
"Are you sure?" asks Haley, "Sorry to question it, but I think this room is kind of obvious."
"I have to agree with her," says Liz.
"Yeah, it'll be fine...just fine," he returns with a smile on his face.
Confessional
"I just think that...uh," starts Thomas, trying to explain himself, "Ah, people will respect Chris being the captain and avoid his room! Of course!"
Confessional End
The camera pans back to Gretchen and Dusty, who have Luna tied up in, quite similarly to their opponents, Chef's room.
"This is perfect," says Gretchen. "Everyone here is scared of Chef, they'll surely avoid going in here. No offense." She finishes her statement, turning to Chef's bed, where he is sitting, reading a magazine.
"None taken," he replies, barely paying attention.
Chris's voice comes booming from the speakers as the kidnappers situate themselves in front of the room.
"Alright, the challenge starts right now! Good luck!"
Leaving the guards, the camera pans to show the rest of the Penguins, who are walking up and down the halls, searching for a place to go. As they walk together, Tony notices his own team's guards in front of Chef's room, and waves to them before looking away and having a wicked idea pop up in his head. He pulls Vicente to the side while his team continues on without him.
"Tony?" Vicente asks, puzzled of what the money man is doing, "What's up?"
"I had a great idea!" he answers, the bright smile of a conman on his face. "So, last challenge, me and you found that banana tree with ease."
"Yeah?"
"So, if we split from the group, I bet we can find the hostage pretty quickly."
"I suppose so...that's not a horrible idea."
"Exactly! What do you say?"
"Eh...why not?"
"Great! I've got just the idea."
Tony starts to lead Vicente in a different direction than where their own team went as the camera leaves them to show Damien and Archie posted right around the corner from the enemy guards. Archie peeks around the corner, noticing the two girls, clearly ready to tussle with anyone who comes their way, before turning back to his teammate.
"Alright," he starts, "Here's the deal. We need to have one of us distract the two of them while the other one swoops in for the retrieval. I suggest you distract them, since I can move around pretty quietly and unnoticed."
"Uh, alright," his partner starts, a tad confused. "But what do I do exactly?"
"I don't know? Perform a play or something, captivate them."
"Uh...okay, but I don't think that'll work."
"Try it anyways."
"Ahem," comes the voice of Dusty, who taps Archie on the shoulder.
"Uh oh," he says, turning to face the girls.
"You'd best get a runnin'."
He tries to dash past them, but Dusty clotheslines him as he does, knocking him to the floor while Gretchen just intimidatingly stares at Damien, who slowly backs away.
Confessional
"Y'know," starts Dusty, who is sitting with Gretchen next to her in the confessional booth, "Turns out, me and Gretch make for good pardners! I woulda never thought, considerin' how we're way different from each other."
"Uh, right?" responds Gretchen, unsure of why that's important.
"Being clotheslined like that on reality tv? How embarrassing," says Archie, who is rubbing the back of his head.
"Stupid Damien," starts the actor, "You look like a wimp now!"
Confessional End
Anne is seen, gathered with the rest of her team, just outside of Chris's room, being blocked from entering by Thomas and Haley.
"Hm," she starts, scratching her chin as Crustacean and Natt watch her, waiting for some brilliant idea. "Nah, I got nothing."
"Well, that's not very helpful," says Natt, deadpan as usual.
"Maybe we can find another way in?" asks Crustacean sheepishly.
"I don't know if there is one. Anne, why don't you use some of your props?"
"Oh, yeah!" Anne gleefully replies, before pulling out a comedically sized broom. "This'll sweep them off their feet!"
"What do you plan to do with that?" asks Thomas, who is currently holding back Flint while Haley flips Benjamin over her shoulder and onto the floor.
"Oh, uh, funny stuff I guess?"
"With a broom?"
"It's my secret weapon!" she says, offended as she hides it behind her back.
"Right...well, good luck with that."
As the scuffle continues, Tony pulls Vicente aside once again.
"This is perfect!" the conman starts, grinning as he does. "There just so happens to be another entrance to Chris's room. Well..."
"Well what?" asks Vicente, a little unsure about this.
"It's more of an exit, but I'm sure we can find a way in."
"Alright, let's let the team know then."
"Woah, woah! Slow your roll! If they notice all of us are missing from the door, they'll surely get suspicious and check inside the room. It'll be better if we go alone."
"I suppose you're right..."
"Of course I am! Now let's do this, buddy."
Tony starts to lead Vicente back down the stairs to the main foyer.
Confessional
"Now, Tony isn't the most trustworthy sounding guy," starts the veteran, "But he is smart, I'll give him that."
"Nincompoop," says Tony with a harsh tone.
Confessional End
As the camera jumps over to show Sebastian, a tad confused about what to do while all of his teammates are getting stopped by Gretchen and Dusty. As he thinks to himself, he notices Tony and Vicente out of the corner of his eye, entering a supply closet not too far away. He slowly starts sneaking towards it while the guards are distracted, and the spotlight shines on the two partners again, now in the closet. Tony whacks a button on the wall in the room, causing the back wall to open up like a doorway, similarly to how it did when Flint accidentally opened it much earlier.
"Woah," Vicente awes at the contraption, unknowing that there was anything like this around. "Alright, sweet. Let's go."
"Ah, sorry pal," starts Tony. "You're on your own for this. I think somebody saw us entering here, I'm gonna have to stop them before they let one of the guards know."
"You got it."
"See ya when you save her!" Tony exclaims, turning away to leave.
"Oh, and Tony?"
Tony stops before he leaves, looking over his shoulder at his teammate.
"Thanks for helping us win this one."
"You got it, no problem!"
With that, Tony leaves the room in a hurry and pulls out his device as he is out of sight, frantically sending a message to someone while Vicente hurries through the hidden corridor. Suddenly, the camera flips to show Chef, still relaxing on his bed, now eating some pork rinds. His own device starts to buzz, and he looks down to see a message from Tony that reads, "Open the secret entrance." With a shrug, he presses the panel that says, "Release the prisoners," and the panel opens, Vicente bursting through and knocking him over.
"Why you, I oughtta!" starts Chef, unsure of what to say to the maggot who's knocked him down.
Vicente quickly jumps up and shakes himself off, regaining his balance as he notices Luna tied up in the chair, staring at him with a look of confusion on her face.
"Wait a minute...where's Liz?" he asks, not sure of what's going on.
"Wrong room, dingaling," says Luna, mocking him.
"Yup," comes a third voice from out of sight, "Wrong room for him, but not for me!"
After that last word, the voice is shown to have come from Sebastian, who quickly grabs Luna right from under Vicente's nose and starts darting away from him, only to be quickly chased after. Despite his best efforts, Vicente isn't able to catch up with his opponent, who brings Luna to the rest of his teammates, who are still being held off by Gretchen and Dusty.
"Guys, I got her!" he exclaims, Vicente standing behind him with a look of defeat on his face.
"Great, now would you untie me?" she asks, irritated as usual.
"Wait, how did you get in there? We never let anybody pass us!" a confused Gretchen says, with Dusty just as concerned.
"Vicente found a secret entrance or something, I just followed him."
Vicente gulps as his team's guards look at him in disbelief, while the other team frees their hostage.
"Vicente?" Dusty seems puzzled by his actions, "Why would ya do that?"
"I didn't do it, it was Tony!" he responds, trying to explain himself.
"Then where is he? We only see you right now," says Gretchen, losing her patience.
"He...uh...he..."
"Save it, dude."
Suddenly, Chris's voice booms over the speakers again.
"Well, well! It looks like the Guppies have finally won a challenge for the first time in, like, ever! That means the Penguins will have to report to the elimination ceremony, pronto!"
Chris's message urges the other Penguins to run down to their teammates to see what went down, including Tony. Vicente glares as he sees him.
"You lied to me, Tony!" he shouts, clearly full of anger. "How could you do that to your own teammate?"
"Hey, calm down, Vicente," he calmly replies. "What are you talking about? I was upstairs with the team the whole time. Right, guys?"
"Uh, yeah," starts Ben, scratching his head. "I saw him there when the karate girl was beating me up."
"Yeah, he was with us..." adds Crustacean, pretty shy about it.
"You see? No need for all the anger, buddy," says a smug Tony.
As Vicente looks down in disbelief, Gretchen and Dusty pass by him to join their team, clearly upset about what's happened.
Confessional
"I can't believe I let my guard down!" cries out a frustrated Vicente, "I'll have to warn the others before he gets to them, too. It may be too late for me, but I'll at least be able to save them."
Confessional End
The Penguins are seen gathered in the escape pod room, many of them glaring at Vicente for his actions, including Tony, who obviously is putting up a front. Chris spins a platter of marshmallow packets in his hand, nine of them to be exact.
"Well, it's been a while! Here's the dealio astronauts, you've all cast your votes already, and one of you racked up a ton of them! I'm gonna start tossing out these marshmallows to those of you who are safe from elimination, and when the last of you does not get one, you'll have to toss on that space suit of yours and take a sad, but entertaining walk to the escape pod of shame, where you'll be sent barreling away from the space station. And you can never return. Ever! With that out of the way...the first marshmallow goes to...Liz!"
Liz catches the sweet treat while Gretchen, right next to her, rolls her eyes at her.
"Next...Dusty and Gretchen!"
Gretchen then catches her, playing an air guitar solo after.
"Yippee kiyay!" shouts Dusty, quickly opening the packet as she does.
"Benjamin...Anne...Natt...and...Crustacean!"
"Oh boy!" says Ben, excited to get his marshmallow, but eating the whole thing, packet and all.
"Now that's funny!" says Anne, watching her teammate as she catches her own.
Vicente glares at Tony, who has a pretty smug look on his face.
"Well, you two. It's sad to say, but one of you has officially kicked your bucket here on Total Drama Space Station. This last marshmallow goes to...Tony."
Chris tosses the final marshmallow to Tony, who catches is with a look of pure joy on his face as Vicente gets up, grabbing his space suit and zipping it up pretty quickly, starting his shameful walk, before turning to face his team again.
"Before I go...I'd just like to-" his sentence is cut off by Chef suddenly hitting him on the head with a frying pan, knocking him out cold.
"Oops," Chef starts, before looking down at the unconscious ex-competitor. "That's for earlier, punk."
Chef and Chris load up Vicente into the escape pod, buckling him in before shutting the hatch and sending him into orbit, away from his teammates and the trickster that was his undoing. As the Penguins start heading back to their rooms, Liz hurriedly runs over to Gretchen, tapping on her back to get her attention.
"What do you want?" Gretchen asks, clearly not wanting to talk to her.
"I wanted to...apologize for my rude actions earlier," Liz starts. "To make up for it, I made you an air freshener to block out the stench!"
The much shorter girl holds up a vial of green liquid to her teammate, who grabs it and inspects it closely.
"Uh, thanks. I was kind of being harsh earlier I guess...so sorry, or whatever."
"It's alright. Science says I was in the wrong."
"Well, it's all fine now...so...see ya around?"
"Indeed."
The two shake hands and smile at each other before continuing off towards their rooms with others, and the camera fades to black.
Author Notes:
*And another strong contender down and out. It's only natural that Tony and Vicente would be enemies from the start of things, considering their conflicting personalities. Unfortunately for the reality show veteran, though, Tony is an incredibly smooth talker, which is a big reason that he wouldn't be able to be taken down by one person alone.
