Inko slowly closed her front door and turned around to lean against it, letting out the most flustered swoon she had ever made. It was a...magical night. She never expected to learn about Toshinori's true identity or kiss him, but she found that she wasn't too upset about either. Sure, they still had a lot to talk about and he would be getting into some serious trouble as soon as she had it in herself to actually be mad at him, but for now, she just wanted to stay in her blissful state.

That didn't seem to work out too well for her, however.

"Mama?" Izuku walked out of his bedroom, his eyes still closed as he rubbed at one of them. "Did you just get back?" He asked through long yawn. Inko's heart fluttered for a different reason as she stepped out of her shoes and made her way towards Izuku.

"What are you doing up, buddy?" She asked in a soft voice, a part of her wondering if the boy was going to fall asleep right here. "It's way past your bed time."

"But I wanted to make sure that you weren't sad again." He mumbled.

Inko's heart ached as she looked at her son. How had she ever refused to believe that he could achieve his dreams in becoming a hero? He had such a kind heart, so much so that he would suffer through being tired in the morning for her sake -although, a part of her thought that it was a half excuse for him to stay up playing games. "Well, I'm not sad, so you can go ahead and get to bed, okay?" She gently pushed him back towards his room, but the boy resisted.

"Tell me about it." He persisted, his eyes finally opening as he looked up at her with sleepy eyes. "Was he mean?" He asked with a seriousness that almost made Inko laugh. Hadn't he known Shimura was All Might the whole time? Now that she thought about it, that was another thing to be upset about. He must've told Izuku to keep that a secret, which meant that they were both lying to her. Before she could get too upset, however, she focused on the task at hand first.

"It's too late for that tonight, okay? Maybe I can talk more about it tomorrow. Or you could ask Toshinori." She honestly had no idea why Izuku was so interested in the first place. Weren't dates supposed to be gross to kids? He always looked away when people kissed on the TV, so why did he want to know about this?

Izuku's head lifted as he looked at her with confusion. "Toshinori?"

She couldn't tell if he was too tired to recognize who that was or simply didn't know All Might's first name. Either way, she didn't want to tell Izuku too much just yet. She hadn't even talked to Toshinori about how they were going to go about this. Did he want to keep it between just them, or was he willing to let even the media know? Honestly, the thought of that made her nervous. She didn't want to be a target for villains or the media. Seeing her face on the news...no. She couldn't do that. At least not just yet.

Turning back to Izuku, Inko let out her nerves and pushed him forward again. "Don't worry about that. Just head off to bed, alright?" This time, he gave in and walked back into his bedroom, the All Might comforter likely calling out to him. Once the door clicked shut, Inko sighed and walked to her own room, suddenly exhausted.

It had been a long night, that's for sure. She could think more about the contents of her date later, when she was less tired. But even as Inko thought that, memories of their moments together came back as she dressed in some night clothes and clawed under her blankets. The feeling of his warm skin still made her hands tingle as well as the soft phantom touch on her lips.

It took Inko an hour or two to get rid of her flustered thoughts enough to actually sleep, and when she did, it was only about sharing a life with the people she loved most.

...

"Oh no."

Toshinori hadn't even fully walked into the door before Gran Torino started to groan. The younger hero's face fell as he looked at his old mentor. "What?" He asked aloud, completely confused by the start to this conversation. How could he have messed up already?

"Don't you 'what' me!" Gran Torino snapped. "You have 'love sick' written all over your face."

That only made the confusion grow. "Wait, what? What do you mean? I'm not love sick." And even if he was, how could Gran Torino tell so quickly? It wasn't like he was the easiest person to read, at least not to most people. Even the chief detective had a hard time figuring him out, but then again, that was always harder in his large form.

The old man waved a hand, giving Tohsinori enough time to finally sit down before he elaborated. "I saw you out the window today. You were smiling like an idiot, even when you were alone. You can't hide something this obvious from me, Kid."

Well...Toshinori had definitely been smiling. He honestly couldn't help himself, though! Every moment he got to just think left him feeling butterflies and this warmth that hadn't resided in him for who knows how long. He was happy and was it so bad that he wanted to show that? "I don't know what you're talking about." He lied, turning away from the old man in favor of gathering his cup of tea. It had long gone cold from this morning, but that didn't really matter much. Tea was still tea, after all.

"Don't give me that." Gran Torino sat up, his grumpy glare not looking quite as intimidating as it usually did. He looked far too smug for that. "You talked to her, didn't you. About the whole lying thing? And how much of an idiot you are?"

Oh, right. He forgot that he had gone to the old man for guidance about that. Now, Toshinori really couldn't hide anything. "Well...yes and no. I did eventually talk to her about it, but it wasn't until just last night."

Gran Torino made a disgusted face, turning away. "Geez. At least get to know her first."

Toshinori barely managed to cover his mouth before blood could spray onto the table. He coughed and choked for a good minute or two, his face going completely red. "That's not-" He tried to talk but his throat hurt. Instead, he picked up his cup of tea and drank a few sips, managing to sooth the tickle a bit. "That's not what happened!" He shouted, feeling exasperated. "We went out on a date and talked about it. That's all!"

"Good. I taught you better than to do anything like that too early anyway."

He didn't bother mentioning that Gran Torino had never once spoken a word about that topic while they were training. It was all about working hard at school and with his quirk back then. Nothing personal ever came up, especially not when it came to Nana.

Pushing that depressing topic away, Toshinori sat up a bit to properly explain this. "I meant to tell her earlier, but I got scared. So, I decided that I would treat her to something nice before absolutely destroying her view on me and how good of a person I am."

Gran Torino leaned forward in his chair. "...and?" He asked, obviously interested but too 'cool' to actually show it.

"And she kissed me." That smile came back as Toshinori recalled it. He had prepared for a lot of things that night, perhaps getting slapped, shouted at, pepper sprayed even. But no. She held onto his face, as if he were the most precious thing in her eyes, and kissed him so gently. And how she said that she wanted him to stay...that he was that important to her...Toshinori melted at the memory. If only he could relive it a million times over.

"Gross." Was all Gran Torino said in response.

Toshinori immediately sat up. "Gross?" He asked, not exactly following how this was a worse topic than the one before.

"You smile like you're happy or something." Despite his snappy tone, the old man gave him a little huff that mean he was really just teasing. A small smile came to the man's face as he continued. "But I have to say, I prefer it to seeing you mope around. For a guy known to light up a room with your smile, you sure know how to make things depressing."

That hurt a bit, but Toshinori couldn't deny it was true. Although the rest of the staff never said anything about it, it had been one of the many reasons Sir Nighteye left. He wasn't acting like the person he was before, which wasn't really fair in the first place. How was he supposed to act the same after watching his own organs fall out of his side and then continuing to fight despite that?

"I have to say, you really found something here. I don't know what makes this little family so special, but I'm glad you found them." It was the most sincere thing Gran Torino had ever said to him. Toshinori wasn't sure how to take it. "Maybe I should come by some time. This Izuku kid could probably use the extra help, right?"

Toshinori didn't like that idea. He could already picture Gran Torino zipping across someone's living room while landing hits on that poor child. Toshinori hadn't been able to catch up at the age of seventeen, so how could the quirkless boy hope to do the same? "Ah, that's okay." Toshinori chuckled despite his obviously shaking limbs. "I think Izuku will be fine for another year or so. Maybe you could meet him after his graduation from High School? Or perhaps after that."

Despite his gruff personality, Gran Torino laughed at the joke. Or, what was probably seen as a joke but was actually Toshinori being completely serious. "Oh, he'll need my help eventually. I was there when both you and Nana were learning how to operate the stupid quirk, and I'd rather die than let this next holder slip past me so easily."

It didn't sound like a good idea but Toshinori didn't have any further complains to make, especially since he wasn't too fond of getting manhandled or threatened. Instead, he went back to his paperwork and looked through it, knowing full well he wasn't going to do any of it. "I..." He hesitated, not quite sure how to phrase it. "I love her, Gran Torino." He admitted, not surprising himself but it still felt new to his tongue. He wondered if he would ever get used to saying it. "She means more to me than I can even express and...I'm just worried that it's a mistake."

He can't lie and say that doing something like this could be dangerous. There are still villains out there and if the media ever caught wind of it, Inko could loose every bit of privacy she ever had. Mobs of fans would swarm her home and even worse, the jealous ones may send horrible things. He had no control over what his fans did or what the media said. For all he knew, this entire situation could become the worst thing he's ever done and if Inko ever got hurt...it would be his fault.

"Don't be stupid." Gran Torino huffed, scaring Toshinori out of his thoughts. "I mean, look at you. You're happier then you've been for ages, even before you defeated All For One. You're doing something not because it's your duty, but because you want to."

He...he never thought of it that way. He had always assumed that this was selfish, wanting to be with someone else in such an intimate way. The world envied him and what he had, when really, all he ever wanted was to settle in a domestic life like the one Inko and Izuku had. Sure, he would never give up his hero work, even for something like that, but it felt so nice.

"Besides," Gran Torino continued. "It isn't your fault if someone else targets her. Hero's lives are dangerous, but that doesn't mean that every villain attack suddenly falls on your shoulders. If this Midoriya lady really wants to be with you, then she has to take responsibility for herself as well."

That made sense. Toshinori hated the thought of anything bad happening, and he knew that if it did, he would be overcome with guilt, but he also couldn't push Inko away. Even if he wanted to, she was too strong for him. She's proved that already with how hard she worked to get him bad, even with everything they had gone through. Smiling, Toshinori turned back to his mentorr. "Thank you. I...I appreciate it."

Gran Torino only rolled his eyes, but the small smile wasn't too hard to miss.

...

Inko wasn't sure how to tell Izuku, but Toshinori reassured her time and time again that it would be fine. He was a bright boy and likely wouldn't hate him for dating his mother. At least, that was the theory. She really had no idea how Izuku might take something like this, so they had to wing it. Taking risks was a big part of being a hero and if Inko was going to be surrounded by them, she might as well as like one herself, right?

The decided to tell him over dinner, a version of Katsudon that worked with Toshinori's diet on their plates as they ate happily. It was good and she was starting to get the hang of cooking without certain foods. Of course the praise her son and boyfriend -it wasn't too early to call him that, was it?- always helped.

"This is super yummy!" Izuku announced, a slice of chicken sitting across his fork. He bit off pieces like a Viking but Inko didn't have the heart to correct him. Not tonight. She was too entranced by the looks Toshinori kept giving her. Honestly, how could a single man be so distracting?

"Hey, My boy?" Toshinori called, leaning on his elbow as he looked at Izuku. The boy immediately turned his attention towards his idol, eyes wide and ready to take in every word the man said. "Your mother and I have something to talk to you about."

Oh no. Was he giving too much away? Wasn't mentioning her a bad idea? What if he figured it out too fast?! What were they supposed to do-

"Sure!" Izuku beamed, his gaze looking between the two unsuspectingly.

Toshinori gave the boy a smile as he started. "So, you know how I told your mother that I'm All Might?" It was something they had discussed not too long ago. Actually, they had planned to mention this whole dating this as well, but neither of them were really good at admitting to things like this.

"Oh, yeah!" The boy nodded, seeming to remember the conversation well enough. "You said that Mom was a little mad but you aren't going away, so that's good!"

Inko almost interrupted, saying that she was more than a little mad, but she held back. This wasn't about their arguments or the fact that Toshinori had told her son to lie to her about his identity. It was about the fact she loved him despite him encouraging Izuku to lie. Yeah, she was still a little mad.

"What about it?" Izuku asked, looking more confused than anything.

"Well," Toshinori started, his hands folding over each other nervously. Oh no, this was where it always started. He would do the hand thing and Inko would get anxious and then they'd chicken out and say something else instead. But they had to tell Izuku this time. If not now, then when? They couldn't keep putting it off. "I'll let Inko explain."

Oh, she was going to strangle him! Inko just managed to hide her dark glare before Izuku turned to her, his eyebrows even more pressed. He must've caught onto the fact he used her given name. "Well, Izuku," She started, trying to think of the best way to put this. "I like to spend a lot of time around All Might, and he likes spending time with us. So, we went out." She could feel how red her face was. This wasn't going well at all.

"Went out?" Izuku asked, even more confused now. "What does that mean?"

"Ah, it means we went on a date." Toshinori supplied. "We like each other, so I took her out to eat a little while ago." Neither of them were going to mention that they went out on more than one date since their first. They also weren't going to mention that they ended up making out after Izuku went to bed last Wednesday.

The boy seemed to catch on, but it took him a moment to think it over. "So...like Boyfriend and girlfriend?"

Oh, she hated this. Thankfully, the amazing man across from her nodded, his smile making things a little less awkward. "Yes. We're boyfriend and girlfriend."

The reaction was immediate, Izuku's entire body shooting up as he bounced on his chair. Inko shouted out a warning to be careful but he didn't listen. "Mommy's dating All Might?!"

"Ah, yes?" Toshinori reached out for the boy, his long arms managing to grab him and settle him back down pretty easily, but Izuku squirmed and instead rushed over to the hero. As soon as the little boy's arms surrounded Toshinori's thin waist, Inko felt her heart melt.

"Are you going to be my dad now?! Please say yes! Please! Please! Please!" Izuku was practically vibrating with excitement and all Inko could think was that at least he wasn't disappointed. "Are you going to stay here too?! OOH! You can play games with me every day! And we can have parties ever night!"

Toshinori tried to calm the boy, but it was an impossibly feat, even for the Symbol of Peace. "Ah, we haven't talked about that yes. This is all a long process and-"

"But you have to! We can make room for you, I promise! You could even sleep in my room!" The boy started begging as he fell onto his knees, both hands tightly gripping his mentor's shirt.

"Ask your mother."

Oh, Inko knew she was screwed right then and there. Within seconds, Izuku rushed over towards her, his hands now fisted into her sweater as he continued to beg out pleads, saying anything that would allow Toshinori to stay, even if it was just for tonight. She knew that it was getting serious when Izuku promised to do his chores and a few extras. "Fine. If he can stay tonight, then I'll let him."

Izuku began bouncing as he cheered out. Inko groaned, feeling a headache begin to build from the loud noise but she couldn't be too upset. They just told him that his mother and idol where dating and he would be spending the night. Honestly, she felt bad for Toshinori, who would no doubt have to stay up with the boy doing whatever he wanted to. At least, once Izuku fell asleep, they could have some alone time to watch some of those movies Toshinori always seemed to enjoy.

As dinner concluded and Toshinori helped Inko to put everything away, they finally settled down on the couch together, Izuku laying in between the two of them. They were like a real family and it was something Inko always wished she would do. It was difficult, raising The boy alone but now, she had someone else to support her and she could then give back that help in any ways he could. They would balance each other out.

"Hey, Mom?" Izuku whispered, his eyes shut even though he didn't exactly look like he was ready to fall asleep just yet.

"What is it, Baby?" She asked, her hand running through his bangs for a moment.

"I can't wait to tell Kacchan about this."

Oh no.
