They Look So Pretty When They Bleed – Internal Bleeding

Summary: Sequel to chapter 8, 'Peter does what he can to get Mr. Stark back, and maybe kind of just a little gets hurt in the process.

Now, as he sat alone in the parking garage he decided what he needed to do. Peter was going to get Mr. Stark back. Whatever it took.

He knew that "whatever it took" would mean opening up to people. Who in their right minds would do a science experiment/bringing someone back from being very much dead in a public parking garage. So packed up his things and got the heck out of there.

Steve was the first person to notice him walking into the oh-so familiar tower that had been refurnished thanks to the Rogues. Yeah, apparently they were back now. Peter didn't spare any of them a second glance before making a beeline towards the lab.

"Hello, Mr. Parker" F.R.I.D.A.Y greeted. Peter was fond of the complicated A.I. Mr. Stark even allowed him to implement some of his own protocols.

"Create Protocol A.B.C on my private server" Peter said not unkindly.

"Doing a secret project now, are we?" The A.I responded. The teen smiled at the memory of when Mr. Stark made his suit and FRIDAY said the same thing.

"just…don't want this to end up in the wrong hands" He said with a shaky voice. First he brought up the previous time machine, working through a few kinks here and there. It would be a long and difficult process no doubt about it, but confidence was key.

"Peter?" Pepper's voice startled Peter out of his work.

"Hi Miss. Pepper" He said with a curt smile.

"I'm so glad you are here" She said, but Peter saw through the forced smile and cheerful expression. It hurt, him being here, and he knew it. Pepper loved him, always welcomes him with open arms and always would, but he was the reason Mr. Stark had even agreed to the monstrosity. This was why Peter had to get Mr. Stark back, because he didn't give up and neither should Peter.

"Me too" He said quietly glancing down at his roughed up grey tennis shoes. They'd been though h3ll but still held strong.

"If there's anything you-" Pepper started,

"Need, you'll be happy to help" he said with a soft smile which she quietly returned some of her forced demeanor floating away.

"Don't work too hard" She said with a smirk making her way up the stairs. Peter swiveled back around in his chair and got back to work.

It had been a month of hard work day in and day out to work through all of the kinks, and even added some more features to it. Peter took a step back admiring his piece of art.

It was a fully workable brand-new time machine. It was a far fetched idea but with the new advancements FRIDAY had been given it wasn't too hard. At least for him it wasn't. He studied the quantum realm, and even read and talked to Dr. Banner about his theories. Bruce, didn't know this was what the hypothetical stimulations were for. As far as he knew, Peter was genuinely curious about how he had returned. Which he was, but it was mostly for Mr. Stark.

The first week was spent on building a secret compartment in the lab. Couldn't have people walking in and seeing a giant familiar box and a teen looking like a deer caught in headlights. It was cool too, voice automated, with a finger print scanner, retina scanner, and a notice from FRIDAY with a specific password. So….maybe he went a little to far….a lot.

"Its for Mr. Stark" He had repeated it over and over again like mantra. An entire month of keeping a secret. They knew it too, they just didn't know what. Steve was really starting to get on his nerves. Why was he bothering him? What did he want? Spiderman was on a leave of absent. Did steve really just expect him to back into the field after all that he lost.

Peter reeled himself back in. He needed to focus. It was then that a large group of running steps could be heard. Peter was so lost in admiration for the machine he hadn't noticed the Avengers heading downstairs. Peter had been hoping for more time to practice with it, maybe make it more advanced over the new few days. Some preparation for going back in time would have been nice too, but it was now or never and now sounded like the better answer. Right as the group walked in Peter tapped his chest 3 times and much to the awe of the group a suit formed around him.

"Nanotech" Bruce whispered. No one heard it, and no one would've heard it had it been for Peter's super senses. He gave a slight nod and Bruce returned it a sympathetic but understanding smile.

"I'm sorry" Were the teens last words as he was sucked into the vortex of time.

Peter had it all planned out to the slightest detail. Get in time at the best possible time and with the brand new suit he had made he would wrap it around Tony's body right before he was about to die. Then as a follow up so the man didn't die on the way there, Peter implemented some healing technology. Fully tested on himself. He visibly winced at the thought, but didn't have time to rethink it as the whooshing stopped and he was back on the battle field. It was right as the snap was happening and instead of being pushed backwards form the force of it, Peter fought against it. More training he decided would be beneficial.

"Mr. Stark.." He whispered running up to the billionaire while the others watched in dismay as Thanos's army was turned to dust particles, far away and hopefully trapped in the soul stone for all of eternity.

"Peter?" The man said weakly glancing up into Peters watery eyes and taking in the dark shadows below the eye. "You're not form here are you?"

"Yeah, but you're about to die and I can save you" He insisted and to Tony's surprise another matching suit covered his body and he started screaming as the suit began the healing job. Helen would have to use the cradle and the pain enough might be too much, but hope might just work.

"I'm sorry" Peter said sobbing as he was sucked back into the vortex and the mans cries disintegrated into faded echoing nothingness. At least until they arrived back and the screams hit him full force.

"Get him to the med bay" Peter ordered as soon as he felt himself slow and feet hit the ground. Bruce ran up to him then and looked over his friend.

"Its really him.." He said choking back tears.

"It is" Peter said similarly.

"He's home" Pepper whispered. The nurses came running in, per, Fridays request and the man was whisked away to the safety, and care of the Avengers nurses.

"I don't feel so good" Peter murmured as the adrenaline wore off leaving him with a very painful feeling as well as a woozy one. "Peppppper" He slurred before the world went black and he hit the ground with a large thump.

When Peter woke up he shot up and his eyes frantically looked around for the one person who he needed right not and when the door opened and Peter's eyes sparkled…

"Hello Peter Parker" A man in a general doctor coat greeted. The excitement seeped out of Peter's face and was replaced by a very disappointed and annoyed one.

"Hello dr…" Peter replied monotone.

"Davis. I'm your doctor today." Dr. Davis explained a friendly smile plastered on his face, "You had some internal bleeding on the way back. We suspect it was from your body having to adjust to rapid speeds and a literal vertex"

Peter chuckled a bit, "Probably a bit of both"

The man smiled, "You probably want to hear about Tony. The others told me about what you did, "A pause, "That was very brave, Mr. Stark must've meant a lot to you huh, kid"

"Yeah, yeah he was" Peter said looking off into the distance.

"He's ok" The doctor proclaimed and tears streamed down peter's face. He did it. He really did it.

"I'm going to, as per requested by Pepper, 'to take you straight to him as soon as you wake up"

"Thank you" Peter said wetly. The doctor smiled in response and helped him into a wheelchair.

Seeing Mr. Stark was quite emotional. Peter was wheeled into the room and then left alone with his mentor. Once he was alone he felt the tears drip down his cheeks again.

"Hi Mr. Stark" He whispered, "I missed you so much"
