Katara?

"Katara!" Sokka's screeching voice crack snapped Katara out of her daydream.

"What!" she snapped in aggravation. Sokka raised his hands defensively and backed away.

"Hey! Don't bite my head off. You were zoned out. I just wanted to make sure you were, OK." He answered softly as if to diffuse her temper. Katara sighed deeply pinching the bridge of her nose with her thumb and fingertips.

"Sorry, all day long Ang keeps coming to me with questions, questions, questions. It's exhausting! Do you wanna do this? Do you wanna go here? Katara, Katara, Katara, all day and it's driving me nuts! I almost hate the sound of my own name…" she groaned placing her hand over her heart. Toph poked her head out of her rock tent.

"It's obvious that Twinkletoes has the hots for you Sugar Queen. Face it, Sweetness. The Avatar wants to suck your face…" she said with a cackle. The reaction was visceral. Katara nearly gagged on her own spit as she took in the earthbender's words.

"Are you sure you didn't hit your head on a rock recently, Earth Girl? He's twelve! You know, your age? Aang hasn't even hit puberty yet. There is nothing there. That's not it." Sokka looked skeptical and wouldn't make eye contact. Katara didn't miss it.

"Sokka, you too? Is that what you think?" Sokka shrugged.

"Well look at it the way we see it, Sis, he hangs around you constantly, he always wants to do "activities" with you, and you don't exactly tell him no. Sounds like a green light to Relationship Road to me." Katara made a horrified face.

"Oh, But I don't see him that way…He's just like a little…like a baby thingy—Uh, Maybe I should try and talk to him?" she said almost to herself.

"No!" Sokka and Toph yelled together. Worst idea ever. Katara's eyes bucked at their vehemence. Sokka grimaced.

"Uh, maybe I should talk to him, you know, mano a mano?" At that moment, Aang landed suddenly between them shutting his glider closed as his feet softly touched the ground.

"Hey, guys! Talk to me about what?" he said in his usual chipper cadence. Katara and Sokka exchanged a quick look.

"Uhhhhhhh." They said in tandem. Toph called out casually as she lowered her rock tent and stood,

"Twinkletoes, follow me…family meeting time."
