POKEMON: LET'S GO
Episode 8: Training Leaves And Shocks
"In the previous episode, Chase lost his very first Gym Battle against Brock. But, even after losing, Chase has not given up hopes. He is focused at only one thing, becoming better and stronger."
Elaine and Eevee prepare food in an open ground, waiting for Chase who has gone to bring something needed for his training. Chase soon returns with two tyres each on his arm and Pikachu pulls on a few pieces of ropes. Elaine is confused to see it. Chase quickly calls out Pidgey and Bulbasaur. He ties a rope to Pikachu's tail, one on Pidgey's feet and one on Bulbasaur's bulb with the other ends tied to a tyre each. He then ties the last tyre to his own waist. He then commands to run. At first, all the Pokemon find it hard, but they move slowly. However, Pidgey soon gets tired and falls down. Everyone else reach out to it and Chase unites the rope from its feet. Meanwhile, Riley approaches them. Chase seems to be happily surprised on seeing him there. He reveals himself to be looking at Chase's training session. Elaine, just then, calls them for lunch. She is too surprised to find Riley there, however, she is delighted to have cooked some extra food.
From a nearby bush, Team Rocket eavesdrop on them. Meowth suggests Jessie and James to train their Pokemon so they can at least stand a chance against the kids. They, however, prefer to ignore him.
Back to the group, Elaine serves a lot of Pokemon food. All of Chase's Pokemon and Eevee rush to taste it, but she stops them. She calls out Caterpie that finishes the whole lot of food within seconds and falls asleep. She calls it back and again serves food to the Pokemon. Riley also calls out his Growlithe. Chase and Elaine are fascinated by it. Elaine scans her Pokedex for it as all other Pokemon, except Pidgey, greet Growlithe. As the group begin their lunch, Riley comments on Chase's training session. He suggests him first making a strategy and then training accordingly. Chase is confused about it, so Riley suggest using Bulbasaur and its Overgrow ability against Brock. Elaine points out that Pikachu and Pidgey won't be effective against Brock's Rock-type Pokemon. Riley suggests a solution to it. He insists Chase to teach Pikachu a Steel-type move called Iron Tail, which would be super effective against Rock-type Pokemon. Chase scans his Pokedex for the move and decides to teach Iron Tail to Pikachu. Pikachu also seems interested, so they decide to begin. Chase places a big rock in front of Pikachu and asks him to hit it with its tail. Eevee, Pidgey, Growlithe, Bulbasaur cheer for him. Pikachu goes running and hits the rock hard with his tail, ending up injuring himself. Elaine suggests that Pikachu should practice with Pokemon instead of hitting rocks. Chase considers it and asks Bulbasaur to help Pikachu.
Suddenly, a big net falls over the Pokemon to capture them. The group look up to find Team Rocket in their Meowth Balloon. They quickly recite their motto and Meowth uses a mechanical arm to get hold of Pikachu. Meanwhile, Riley's Growlithe uses Bite to make a hole in the met and all the Pokemon jump down. Riley catches Growlithe, Elaine catches Eevee and Chase catches Bulbasaur. Pidgey manages to take care of itself. Team Rocket tries to get away with just Pikachu, but Riley has Growlithe use Flamethrower to burst the balloon and bring it down.
Pikachu is freed, and Team Rocket is infuriated. Jessie and James send Ekans and Koffing respectively. Chase asks his friends to let Pikachu handle them. Koffing uses Sludge Bomb but Pikachu dodges. Ekans closes with Wrap, but Pikachu dodges it too. Chase tells Pikachu to hit them with his tail. Pikachu follows but nothing happens. Ekans uses Poison Sting, connecting a hit. Jessie becomes happy at that until James reminds her that it is not over yet. Pikachu stands back, dodges a Sludge Bomb attack from Koffing and hits it with his tail. This time his tail glows metallic and the attack is stronger. Koffing is defeated by it. Riley recognises it as Iron Tail. Pikachu turns to Ekans with another Iron Tail, defeating it as well. Finally Pikachu uses a strong Thunderbolt to blast off Team Rocket. As they blast off, Chase thanks them for helping Pikachu learn Iron Tail.
Glad for Pikachu learning Iron Tail all the other Pokemon congratulate him. Riley and Elaine congratulate Chase as he believes himself to be ready to challenge Brock again.
