Forgotten
Chapter 17: Reunited...Sort of (Part II)
An hour has passed and Danny had watched most of the video's that Jazz had compressed for him and now they were asking him questions to make sure that it stuck.
Jazz soon called them all to come in to see the progress so far. First with Sam and Tucker, since they knew Danny the longest.
Star wanted to come in but knew the boy's oldest friends would be the first people to see him, plus it probably wouldn't be a good idea to crowd him right now as he is still learning about the basic facts of his own life.
It bugged her but she knew the logic. Even if she still felt singled out.
Soon Sam and Tucker were in, and saw their best friend sitting on the couch with a pensive look on his face.
"Hey dude..." Tucker said meekly.
"You feeling alright?..." Sam asked, hoping for the best.
Danny looked to Sam and Tucker and smiled.
"I think so...I remember Tucker throwing up in Sam's lunch in second grade but blamed it on another kid..."Danny said.
Tucker flinched.
"I really wish I could find Ricky Marsh and apologize for it..." Sam said before rolling her eyes at Tucker.
That's when it hit them.
"You remember that?!..." They asked.
"A few bits and pieces are missing... but I remember about 90% of our lives before my powers..."He said.
"Like?..." Tucker asked.
"You obsess over PDAs , even though its gotten you so few dates... And Sam is super into veganism, but insists on calling it Ultra-Recyclo Vegetarian because she thinks Vegan is too mainstream..." Danny said.
"YES!..." Tucker went cheerfully before recognizing something Danny said..."Wait... what do you mean its gotten me so few dates..."The techno geek demanded.
Sam got in his view and grinned nervously.
"It's gotten few dates that truly matter! Because they don't appreciate your skills with it..."The goth girl said nervously.
Tucker crossed his arms and nodded.
"Got that right!..."He said before Danny continued.
"Do you remember anything else?..."Sam asked, wanting to focus on what mattered.
"You hate the color pink and Tucker's greatest fears are snakes and being on an island with no technology..."Danny said.
Sam sighed in relief.
"Good to hear..."The goth girl said.
"I also remember my mom and dad, they're not here?..." He asked.
"No, but it's probably a good thing..." Jazz said... "When you caught a cold at 10, they thought you were possessed by a ghost for a week..."She said.
Danny rose an eyebrow at that but shrugged.
"I guess that's just a regular thing for me as Daniel Fenton, best friend to Sam Manson and Tucker Foley..."He chuckled a bit.
Tucker and Sam smiled upon hearing this.
"Yes, okay! We are back on track! Talk about a relief!..."Tucker said.
Sam nodded in agreement.
"We got a lot more to catch him up to speed on..." Sam said.
"And we have another person we should be reminding him of..." Tucker said.
Sam and Jazz nodded, knowing he means Star but before they could, Danny notices something on the nightstand, resembling a remote.
"I remember my parents being inventors..."He thought as he walked to the nightstand.
Jazz looked curious.
"Wait... what are you doing?..."She asked but Danny wasn't listening as he looked at the strange device.
"What does this thing do?..."Danny asked as he pointed to it.
Jazz eyes widen in horror.
"Don't touch that! It's gonna-..."Jazz yelled.
It was too late and he pressed the button. The end result was all of them being covered in goop.
"Blow up..." She muttered before she mopped for a moment as she started wiping away the gloppy goo off her, for what would be the umpteenth time.
The girl was sick of goo, and would not miss it when she left for college. Tucker and Sam, while understanding, felt the same sentiment as the ghost boy sheepishly smiled.
"Does this happen a lot?..."Danny asked.
"Yes..."They all said.
Looks like they have more work ahead of them than they thought.
Meanwhile
Star was pacing back and forth for a bit before sighing, tired of waiting. She wanted to see if her boyfriend was back, so that she can say that she's sorry and how she truly feels about him.
Her patience ran out. She was going nuts just waiting here with all of this uncertainty.
"Better check on my Danny-Boo..."Star said as she walked down the hallway and headed upwards to the Ops Center.
She just had to see him. To see if he remembers her at all and everything they have been through together. She soon arrived to the doorway to the roof. She felt a little nervous but hoped for the best.
"Fingers crossed..." She thought as she made it up the ladder and to the door to the OPs center.
She was about to knock on the door, only for Jazz to open it with Tucker right behind her.
"Oh... Star..." Jazz said.
Star had a sheepish look on her face.
"I...I'm sorry but I couldn't wait any longer..."She admitted.
Jazz sent her an understanding smile.
"No worries, I get it..."Jazz said, knowing that Star was as worried as she is about Danny.
"We all do..."Tucker said, in an understanding way.
The blonde smiled slightly at that, before asking the million dollar question.
"So any progress?..."Star asked, still worried.
"Good news! Most of Danny's basic memory's been restored!..."Jazz said.
"There was a little mix-up with the Bathtub and the washing machine..."Tucker commented.
"Worked out fine! He ended up remembering how to go intangible and he came out smelling great..." Jazz said optimistically.
Star looked at her strangely. Before she could ask for more details, Danny walked out of the room with Sam right behind him.
Star smiled upon seeing him. He wasn't looking at her like she's a stranger anymore.
Danny looked to Sam and Tucker to see if it was okay to greet her. They nod and he did so.
"Hi, Estelle!..."Danny said to the blonde girl.
"Star..."The blonde reminded.
Danny blinked.
"Huh?..."He said.
"I...prefer to be called Star, remember and NOT because I think I am the center of the universe, I just like the way it sounds..."The blonde said as she knew that she was going to get back at her step sister.
Maybe a series of pranks with help from Danny when he got his memory back.
"Oh, right, right! Star, sorry..."Danny said, still trying to remember it.
"It's okay, it's okay! It'll come back! So, you know who I am?..."She asked, nervous but hopeful.
Danny looked at her and nodded.
"You're name is Estelle Strong but like you just said you prefer to be called Star and we are classmates and you recently became part of our Team Phantom..."Danny said.
Hearing that brought a warmth to her heart.
"It's working! He's remembering me!..."She thought with joy.
Star smiled relieved, happy to see that her beloved is on the road to recovery. Tucker stepped forward with a worried look on his face.
"Uh, Star..."He said in an unsure tone.
He knew that he had to tell her about certain gaps in Danny's memory but he wasn't sure how to.
"Not now, Tucker... I've been waiting all day for this!..." Star said as she walked towards Danny.
"I have to-..."He was cut off as Star grabbed Danny's arm, much to the ghostly boy's confusion.
"I'm just happy your getting better, my handsome Danny-Boo..." Star said, hugging a visibly confused Danny.
"Huh?..."Danny let out but Star was too happy to notice. She didn't even notice he wasn't hugging back.
"I'm so relieved to have you back!..."She said happily to the confused boy.
The rest of them were concerned. They needed to let her know.
"Oh, Star, one thing..."Sam tried to warn but Stat cut her off, too excited to let her finish.
"Not to worry, I'll have him back in time for dinner, but first I'll give him a refresher around Amity Park! It'll be like a second first date!..."Star said as she wrapped her arms around him.
"But Star..." Sam tried to warn again
To her surprise, Danny pulled out of her grasp, much to the surprise of the blonde girl
"Are you hitting on me?..."Danny asked warily.
Sure, she is pretty but the last pretty girl who hit on him turned out to be a nightmare. Star, on the other hand, looked like she thought he was joking.
"Uh, Danny, we are dating. I'm your girlfriend..."Star explained.
"Girlfriend? You? Yeah right ...Oh, wait, you're serious?..."Danny said, surprised.
"Ouch..." Sam said with a wince.
Sure, she and Star weren't exactly close but still, that had to hurt. Tucker and Jazz didn't say anything as they cringed. Meanwhile, Star once again felt her heart shatter to pieces and felt like someone just punched her in the stomach.
Hard!
"Ha ho! That wasn't painful at all..."Star said in a strained voice as she put on a fake smile, trying to hide how badly that hurt.
That hurt way more then Kwan forgetting they were a couple and she was dateless for one of Dash's parties and he went with Tiffanie. Yes, that happened before and it was not something Star wanted to think about.
Danny noticed her expression and frowned.
"Did I hurt her feelings?..."He thought, feeling a little guilty.
"I'm sorry if that sounded mean but I just don't remember having a girlfriend..."Danny explained.
"Well, at least he apologized..."Sam thought as she sent a look to Star, who looked pretty broken right now.
Star was feeling like shattered glass right now.
"Well, that was probably the worst moment of my life so far..."The blonde said, trying to shake off that feeling.
She wanted to think of the boyfriend she has now and wants back.
"I am your girlfriend, Danny. Honest..."Star said as she tried to do something to show that they're together.
She had an idea. Star quickly pulled something out of her purse. It was a Nasty Burger that she had picked up for him, thinking he'd be hungry since a certain wicked stepsister didn't let him have lunch and tried to feed him overly fancy cookies while while she brainwashed him, according to Tucker.
"Here. It's you're favorite...double cheese with extra pickles and grilled onions. I picked it up on the way here..."Star said.
"It is?..." He asked.
"Yeah..." Jazz confirmed for him.
"Well... it does look and smell good..." He said as he took it.
Star looked hopeful now and she got closer in desperation.
"See? See, look what I just did? Girlfriend stuff! So, do you remember now?..."She asked desperately, while Danny looked blankly.
"No, but thanks for the burger..."He said as he took a bite of the burger, wrapper and all.
"No, you have to unwrap it first..." Jazz said worried, rushing over to Danny and making him spit it out.
"Oh..." Danny said, unwrapping the burger and taking a bite again.
He smiled upon tasting it.
"Yeah, that tastes way better..."He said as he took more bites.
"See, girlfriend stuff..."Star said insistingly, while Danny raised a brow.
"Is it?..." He asked.
"Yes!..." Star went.
Her smile left as she saw the look on his face. He looked unconvinced for some reason.
But why?
"I mean... it tasted better than those lame cookies Colette gave me... but I don't know..."He said.
"Yeah...but I'd say anything's better than something from Colette..." Sam snarked.
All the while, Star felt divided on that. He complimented what she brought him, but comparing it to what Colette did felt unappealing to her. She wasn't giving up. The fact the she gave him something tastier was a good step.
She kept trying.
"Exactly, plus boyfriend and girlfriends do stuff like this all the time!.."Star added..."And you love the Nasty Burger. We eat there almost all the time..." She said.
"We do?..."He asked.
"Totally. The Nasty Burger is the best..."Tucker said suddenly, before eying the burger... "You brought another, right?..."He asked.
Star, Sam and Jazz all glared at him.
"Worth asking..."He shrugged.
Star ignored Tucker and turned to Danny again.
"Anyway... yes, we do. Both of us..."She said in a sweet tone to convince him.
Danny wasn't so sure.
After all, he didn't remember everything but there was something about Star that he just couldn't explain. Sure, she is really pretty, even prettier than Colette, that's for sure and she's not as suffocating but still, something seemed missing here and it is making him wary.
He can't exactly explain it.
It's like part of him is afraid to remember her in a positive manner. Like part of him is either mad at her of worried around her. Even though he wants all his memories of which...
Suddenly, Danny hitched a bit as a new memory came to him. One concerning the blonde girl before him.
FLASHBACK
He could see a pretty dark haired girl talking with Estelle/Star.
It seems that they were talking about him.
"Do you know that he wants to be an astronaut? That he bowls with a 150 average?..."Val said, and he had a feeling she was talking about him.
"No, all I know is that his family is a bunch of ghost-hunting freaks..."Star said.
She then saw him and realized he heard the whole thing.
"I'm sorry, but by "freak" I mean... Nah, I mean it! See ya, Val! See ya, freak!..."She said in a mean way before walking off.
Danny looked annoyed but not for too long after all Valerie was here.
For some reason, she made him smile. With a warm and fuzzy feeling that the boy didn't want to stop. So he ignored the blonde girl and enjoyed to company of the one he was talking to.
He knew that's what he wanted.
End Of Flashback.
Danny groaned as the memory flashed and he sent a frown at her. She was mean to him then like that big guy was earlier.
What was his name? Bash? Crash? Rash? Whatever...
Whatever his name was , he didn't like Danny and Danny was sure he didn't like him. And from what few little memories he has managed to regain, he recalls that Star was seen around that guy a lot, like they were friends or something.
It made him not trust her. It made him think she was up to something. He had to know why she's here.
"Aren't you friends with that big, mean guy Crash Something?..."Danny asked.
"I think you mean Dash and he and I were never real friends. I was just pretty to be associated with him but not anymore..."Star said.
Danny still looked unsure at her. Star did not like this.
Why couldn't things go right this week? First their fight, Colette attempts to brainwash him and now this? It wasn't at all how she planned to enjoy their day.
Unfortunately, he continued.
"I'm remembering things now..."Danny said.
"What do you mean?..."Star asked.
"I keep getting these visions...memories...they showed me that Colette was lying and that Sam and Tucker are my friends...and that Jazz cares about me..."Danny said.
"Yes, yes and yes. All true and you should trust your memory..."Star said quickly.
Danny nodded and then sent her an unsure, almost untrusting look and Star was confused.
"They also showed me that you were mean to me...really mean..."Danny said.
"What?..."Star said.
"I remember that you used to say mean things about me, my friends and my family and you used to laugh at me whenever that mean guy Dash did something to me like stuff me in a locker or other mean stuff he did..." Danny said accusingly.
A horrified, guilty look came to Star's face as she remembered that too. How, even then, she knew it was wrong but did nothing. She's done so much to make up for what she did and be with the boy who captured her heart with his heroism.
She wanted that boy back.
"Yeah I was but I've changed..." Star said desperately.
"Have you?..."Danny asked.
Star's eyes went to the rest of Team Phantom. She was hoping for a bit of help. She was getting desperate.
"Danny please, you've got to believe me, I have changed...guys, tell him..." Star pleaded.
Tucker, Jazz and Sam nodded but Danny Fenton was pretty stubborn
"We... did try to fill him in on who you are..." Tucker said.
"And?..." Star asked.
"He didn't believe us..."Jazz said.
"He thought that that you were too pretty to actually like someone like him..."Tucker said.
The blonde girl blinked upon hearing this.
"Uh... okay, as flattered as I am that he thinks I'm out of his league... you couldn't get him to budge?..." Star asked.
"We did the best we could..."Sam said.
It was her words that caught the blonde's attention. Star looked to Sam. She didn't think Sam would try to make a move, would she?
No, Sam might have feelings for him but she wouldn't take advantage of a victim of amnesia. She's not cruel like that. She not like Colette. She put that thought out of her head for now.
"He... didn't?..." Star asked.
The other girl shook her head.
"We tried but you know how stubborn he can be..."Sam said.
Danny looked to Sam
"I'm right here..."Danny said.
"It's true..."Sam said.
"I'm not stubborn...am I?..."Danny asked.
"Yes, yes you are..."Everyone in the room said.
He just blinked, unsure whether or not to take that as an insult.
"Don't take it too personally, Danny..." Star said said... "It's...kind of true..." She said.
Danny rolled his eyes. He still kept up that look to her. Star didn't like it. It made her feel like he hated her. She didn't want that.
"Please stop looking at me like that..." Star pleaded.
He didn't stop. Though it soften to a more neutral look. Neutral but still untrusting. Like he really can't decide where to believe her or not.
It bugged Star.
The look he used to give her is one she did not miss. She's become so used to him looking at her with fondness and affection. This just felt wrong while her amnesiac boyfriend remained suspicious.
"How do I know I can trust you?..." Danny asked.
Star sighed, feeling like she's back at square one. Still, she tried again.
"Danny, look. I wasn't the best person, but I changed thanks to you..."Star said, sounding desperate.
"Thanks to me?..." Danny asked.
"Yes, you helped make me a better person..."She said and Danny's eyebrows rose.
"I did?..."He asked.
"Yes..."Star said
"Me?..."He asked again.
"You..."The blonde nodded.
"How? Why?..."Danny asked while Star gave a small, fond smile in remembrance.
She gave the simplest answer possible.
"Because you just chose to be nice to me..." Star said.
He raised an eyebrow and tilted his head quizzically.
"I chose to be nice to you?..."He asked and Star nodded.
"Yes, you did..."Star said.
Danny still kept that look, still confused on something.
"But if that's true, why were you mean to me when I dated Valerie? I did date her, right?..."Danny asked.
"Yes, but that was before a field trip that changed how we saw each other..."Star said, not liking this.
Seriously, he remembers dating Val but not her?!
"No fair. Valerie was once mean to him too. Not just to Danny Fenton..."Star thought with disappointment for this.
Sure, she was pretty mean to him but at least she never hunted him down with a bazooka before!
Star still felt she should use Val as an example.
"Valerie... also changed thanks to you..." Star said.
"Really? I remember her being nicer to me than you..."Danny said..."You were still mean to me even when she wasn't..."He continued.
Star felt hurt at that. Very hurt.
"I guess... you did get to her first..." Star said.
She couldn't lie there. Danny shook his head and went back to being judgemental.
"You told her that me and my parents were ghost hunting freaks, didn't you..."Danny said, looking mad.
Star winced and looked ashamed at that.
"Of course, he had to remember that time..." Star thought, frustrated.
She just hopes that he doesn't remember the beauty pageant incident on top of this next, where she tried to claw his eyes out along with other girls.
Not her best moment.
"You also made fun of me at that water park, remember?..." He asked and she flinched.
"Okay, that was on me..." She said ..."But I apologized and you forgave me..."She said.
Danny blinked confused
"I did?..."He asked.
"You did..." Sam spoke up... "In fact, you were the one who insisted she turned over a new leaf..."She said.
"I... did that?..." He asked.
"You two even had a date there, where she tried to make things up with you..." Tucker said.
"We did?..."Danny asked.
"Yeah, she even gave you back a model shuttle Dash once broke..." Sam said.
"You even have it proudly in your room..." Jazz said.
Danny blinked upon hearing this. He scratched his head.
"Really?..." Danny said
"It's true, man..."Tucker said.
"You two are a couple..." Jazz said.
"See? They're telling the truth..." Star insisted
Danny made a face now.
"You're serious?..." He asked incredulously.
Star nodded very quickly.
"I'm your girlfriend! Danny Fenton and Star Strong! Casper High's favorite couple, not on the A-List!..." She went.
Danny heard this and began to ponder about it.
"Are we really dating?..."He thought as he looked at her.
Again, she is very pretty and so far, she is treating him nicely. But Colette was pretty too and she acted nice at first before acting like a total sociopath. Not to mention, the only memories he had of this girl so far were of her saying mean things to him and making fun of him.
He couldn't comprehend her being his friend, much less girlfriend.
"Just what happened on this field trip? ..."He thought.
Danny seriously wasn't sure what to think right now . He wanted to believe his friends but he wasn't sure about this girl. She was pleasant to his eyes, but that was it. It was like something was preventing him from thinking anything nice about her.
And that something was winning. As well as it was driving them both crazy. The girlfriend more so than him. In fact, Star was looking like she'd burst into tears any minute.
As Sam, Jazz and Tucker stood back, Star kept trying to make Danny remember their relationship, but with no success.
"Are you sure we're dating?..."Danny asked, still not buying it.
"I am...look, you even gave me this ring on our third date..."Star said as she showed it off.
Danny looked at it strangely.
"I sort of remember a class ring..."Danny said and Star looked hopeful.
"But it had a green gem stone and I think it was for another girl..."Danny said.
"WHAT?!..."Star yelled.
"He gave ANOTHER girl a class ring?!..."She thought in disbelief.
Sam tensed up upon hearing that. Immediately, the goth girl came in between the two before any complications arose.
"Uh...I remember that...you...sort of got one for Valerie but you guys broke up before you gave it to her..."Sam explained.
"Val again?..."Star said, unable to believe this.
She actually felt jealous now and worried and maybe just a little hurt that Val almost got a ring too.
Does he do that for every girl he likes?!
"Is that like his move or something..."She thought in jealousy and annoyance too.
She snapped out of it when she recalled that they had more pressing matters to attend to. She can worry about the class ring later.
"Regardless, you actually gave this one to ME!..." She went.
"I did?..."Danny said.
"YES!..."Star practically yelled now.
Why won't he believe her?! Why won't he listen when she says that they are together? That she changed because of him? That she lo-
She stopped thinking that and noticed his expression.
"Is he... remembering me?..."She thought, hopefully.
For a moment, it looked like Danny had some recognition, but he shook it off. Still, he sent her an almost apologetic look when he spoke next.
"Look, I remember now not dating after Valerie and I broke up..."Danny said.
"That's because we started 3 months ago..." Star said.
Danny did not change. He still had some doubts.
"How do I know this isn't some trick?..."He asked.
"It's not a trick, I'm being honest..." Star said.
He still did not change.
Star is getting even more desperate now.
"Danny you gotta believe me..."Star said.
"Believe what? That You and I are going out even though you used to be super mean to me and my family? And we're dating?!..."Danny questioned.
"Yes! Isn't that crystal clear?..."Star said pleadingly..."Why don't you believe me?..."She asked.
"Well, you are Colette's sister..."Danny said.
"STEP-sister..."Star emphasized.
"And that changes things how?..." The amnesiac boy asked with arms crossed.
"Being sisters doesn't mean were both mean and again, she's my step sister. No relation..."She said.
"We actually ALL hate her stepsister..." Sam said.
"Exactly, so it's okay to not think of me being anything like her..."Star said.
"That's something I can't disagree on..." Sam added.
It didn't have the desired effect from Danny.
He still wasn't believing her. He's still not smiling at her.
Star was getting upset and growing sadder with each passing moment. This was not how she thought her day would go. Ghost attacks are something that she has become used to in her new lifestyle but today has been nothing but upsetting.
No, it was misfortune in domino effect.
Skulker, Vlad, ghosts in general, arguments and saying mean things, teen drama, regret, amnesia and Colette's tricks and now this.
Calling this a bad day would be an understatement. It was overwhelming her and driving her to the edge of her sanity.
Still, she wasn't giving up. Not on her Danny Boo..
She can't.
"We have been dating for three months...It's even our quarterversary!..."Star practically yelled now.
"What-a-versary?..."Danny said and Star groaned.
This is how this whole mess got started in the first place.
"A very stupid idea that was part of how this all happened..." She said, dragging a hand down her face.
"I should never have listened to those three... "She thought.
She'd take back the entire thing if it meant never having that argument. She just wanted her Danny back. She wanted the sweet guy who won her heart and and saved her back.
That boy isn't here now.
Danny, confused, glances at the others. they wore expressions similar to Sam and Star's opinions.
Danny didn't mean to upset anyone, he was just saying what he remembered
Wasn't that a good thing?
It didn't look like it.
Not at all.
"I'm sorry Es- Star but the last time I trusted a pretty girl, she told me Tucker was a womanizing creep, Sam's a stalker who has feelings for me..."He said...Danny didn't notice the wince from Sam Star and Jazz at that part..."And my sister is a bossy jerk who hates all my girlfriends..."He explained.
"Not true, the only one I didn't like was Kitty for obvious reasons..."Jazz muttered.
"Yeah..." Danny said before he looked confused..."Why do we not like Kitty and who is she anyway?..." Danny asked
"Explain later, dude..." Tucker said
"Focus on the right now..." Sam said.
"The right now being me..." Star said.
She noticed the glare Sam sent her and realized how that sounded.
"And getting your FULL memory back..."The blonde quickly added.
Sam nodded at that.
Any other time, and Sam would still give grief, but the ghost boy was more important.
The sooner he got all his memories back, the better for Amity Park and for all of them.
"Danny...as much as I didn't like Star at first, she has been at least better to us and she is here for you..." The goth girl strangled out.
She hated it but Danny cared greatly for Star and knew when he remembered he'd never forgive himself for hurting her.
Even if he didn't mean to.
"Danny-Boo. Please believe it when we say you and I are together..."Star said.
She had a longing face as she gazed at Danny. She hoped he'd take her word, despite the only memories of her weren't great.
It still didn't work as he kept that same look. That look he'd give Star before the island, back when he saw her as nothing more than a snobby, blonde Paulina clone.
Anxious, the blonde reached out for the boy, but was heartbroken to see him take a couple steps back.
"Danny?..."She said gentle but he shook his head.
He turned to the door and started to walk towards it.
"I need some space..."He said.
The trio of an audience were now sure some intervention was required as the ghost boy walks.
"Danny, wait!..."Star tried to hold Danny's hand but he phased his hand away
"Well, at least you remember how to use that power..." Star said, still hurt that he used it to phase away from her
Danny frowned.
"I'm starting to remember a lot of things..." The boy remarked somberly..."And not all of them are good..."He added.
He saw the blonde girl frown now. For some reason, it hurt him.
He didn't know why, but he felt bad for making her upset. It somehow hurt him like it hurt her.
"Why does seeing her like that hurt?..." He thought.
He didn't mean to hurt her, he was just telling her how he felt. Even though it's clearly not what she wanted to hear.
"This... is the worst day of my life..." Star thought.
She worried for the worst. That her beloved would never remember her or only the bad memories returning. Or the worst one, which she thought out loud.
"Danny, why don't you want to remember I'm your girlfriend?..." Star asked on the verge of tears.
It's almost like he didn't want to remember having a girlfriend at all?
He saw the look on her face.
That did make him flinch, but he went back to being overly cautious. Though, he at least tried to explain why.
"I would believe you but the last girl who said that she was my girlfriend tried to turn me into her snobby fiancé. So, I am a little hesitant here..."Danny said.
"SHE DID WHAT?!..." Jazz and Star yelled, making Danny wince.
"Yeah..uh...after I tried to leave, Colette said that we were engaged but I didn't believe her..."He said and saw the angry looks get worst on his sister, friends and...girlfriends? faces get worse.
"Okay... I'm guessing everyone hates her..." Danny said.
"No duh!..."His sister said.
Jazz was furious. She was going to rip that conceited brat apart as soon as she got her hands on her.
"I'll tear her fake hair out of her skull!..." Jazz shouted.
"I have dibs on her hair, you can knock out all her whitened teeth!..." Star shouted
"Sam has dibs on her teeth, I'll break her nose..." Jazz shouted
"Good, she spent a fortune on it!..." Star shouted.
Danny saw this and actually felt pretty intimidated by the sight. He almost felt bad for Colette now.
"Wow, they're scary and I apparently fight ghosts..."Danny said
"Dude, you have no idea..." Tucker said
He was ticked off as well but he was smart enough to stay out of the crossfire of the three angry girls of Team Phantom
Especially Star, she was furious.
"How dare she?!..."She grumbled in fury.
She was going to kick Colette's butt all the way back to France for this but first she needed to fix her boyfriend and fast before he did something that he was going to regret when he had his memory back
She took a breath to calm down.
"Look, I know that Colette is a rude, obnoxious, spoiled, mean, self centered, shallow and a major pain in the butt but I am nothing like her..."Star said.
He raised an eyebrow.
"That's not what I remember. I remember you with another pretty but mean girl and you both were making fun of me..."He said.
Star cringed.
"I said sorry for that..."She said, feeling bad all over again..."That was the old me, but I'm a better person now..." Star said.
"You... are?..." He asked in disbelief.
Her voice he'd every once of honesty but the boy was having trouble accepting the apology due to still missing pieces. Mainly the nice ones.
Star would explode if Sam, Tucker, and Jazz weren't there for support.
"Danny..." She said softly again.
But the boy stared at her, unable to process the events. All he could do was stand there and watch uncomfortably as he rubbed his arms.
"Star, I didn't mean to hurt you.I'm sorry for making you feel bad..."Danny said.
Star sighed
"I know..."She said.
At the least, he's amiable enough to her not want to hurt her intentionally. But it still hurt her to see that her amnesiac boyfriend didn't remember that he was HER boyfriend
It tore her apart!
"Danny, please try and remember..."Star mentally begged now.
He still looked unsure, like he was having trouble ignoring his resurfaced memory and his conflicting state of mind. After a painful silence, he finally spoke again.
"The fact you're here means I must have trusted you at some point..."Danny said.
Star smiled, but it dropped when he continued.
"But I don't know about this whole relationship thing..." He said.
It was a very slow process, he remembers their early times but not their present. He knew that he is missing a lot of bits and pieces but after Colette, he didn't know what to believe in. Or who.
Still, his friends and sister are vouching for her but he still felt torn here. Part of him wanting to believe this but the other part wasn't sure , rejecting it.
It is so confusing.
Star, on the other hand, is feeling like this was torture. She just wanted her Danny Boo back. She wanted him to hold her, to make her feel safe, to fight for her, to make her laugh and and smile again.
But now, because of her wicked stepsister she might never get to be with her boyfriend again.
It's not fair!
She just wanted Danny to be back to normal! Was that too much to ask?!
It was almost like karma pushing her for how she acted earlier. She already regretted it and was doing so even more.
"Danny..." Star said softly. She wasn't going to give up. The ghost boy meant too much for her to do so.
In fact, he'd do the same for her.
She needed to try so she looked to the rest of the team.
"Guys...Can we have a moment alone? Please..."Star asked.
Jazz, Sam and Tucker understood.
"Sure, Star..."Jazz said.
"We'll be outside if you need anything..."Tucker said.
"Yeah..." Sam said and the three walked past them but the goth put a hand on Stars shoulder and quickly said the following words.
"It's going to be okay, Star..."She said.
That made the blonde smile, if only a tad.
"Thanks, Sam..." Star said
Sam nodded before walking out. Soon Star was alone with her amnesiac boyfriend, who still doesn't seem convinced about the fact that they were in a relationship at all.
Oh boy.
Meanwhile
Vlad had arrived at his destination.
A private bunker he'd had built that housed his arsenal.
There was a weapon, which would serve him well to further his goals.
"Finally..."He said to himself..."I'd been saving this and this is the perfect time..."
He had plans for it when he gained enough power for his takeover of the Ghost Zone, but this is a good enough exception.
"It's a pity that I can't use the nano explorers on Maddie like originally planned, but there is an up side to this..."Vlad thought.
His little foe forgot his memories and while his minions kept him and his friends busy while he plotted, he can capitalize on this.
After all, a true business man can turn any set back into a chance to profit.
And there was a bright side to an amnesiac Danny Phantom. His enemies would cause chaos and terrorize the town, but more importantly, the young ghost boy would most likely be impressionable.
That is what the world's oldest halfa wanted.
"I might be able to turn him to my side... if not, he'll be too lost to know how to fight back..."He grinned as he placed a hand on his weapon.
"The irony in his efforts to keep me from my prize, he made himself vulnerable..." Vlad laughed..."This IS the greatest day of my life..."He added.
He knew that Daniel's little friends will likely try to get his memory back and remove the nano explorers, but they are just teenagers and don't have access to the right equipment. Not to mention, they would hesitate out of fear of doing any more damage of the ghost boys mind...
Vlad, on the other hand, has no such hesitations as he began his countermeasures.
"At first, I was thinking of punishing Skulker, but this is still perfect. Now, I just have to find a way to get young Daniel away from his friends and and family. Plus, even if this doesn't work, I can destroy him. A win-win scenario..."The older halfa gloated before laughing again
"First things first. I need to get his friends away from him. No doubt a few well placed distractions will do..." Vlad mulled over in his mind... "The only important thing, is how I shall approach the boy..."He considered.
Thoughts stirred in the man's mind, coming together like a jigsaw puzzle assembled by a tornado. It wasn't long before the man smiled wickedly.
A plan that Daniel and his little friends would never see coming. One way or another, the outcome would benefit him.
"Let's see how Daniel anticipates this..." Vlad said to himself as he prepared his next move.
Soon he would have everything that Jack Fenton had taken from him and more. The man couldn't wait for the end of the day, when everything would come together.
All for him.
