Chapter Eight: Consolation

Sunlight poured in through the opened window filling the hospital room. Bea was sleeping on the twin sofa her head covered by the blankets that gently bobbed up and down with her light breathing. Stan and Candy had both went home for the night since there wasn't enough room for everyone to sleepover, plus they had work and Bea offered to stay it's not like she could muster the strength to face the Ol' Pickaxe anyway. Mae slept on her stomach the blankets were half on top of her and hallway in the floor. The buttons had come undone on her gown and her butt was showing her tail lied limp hanging just over the side of the bed.

It's been two days since Mae first arrived at the hospital via ambulance. She was cleared to return home today if she so desired though the doctors still recommended that she get plenty of rest. She had been admitted for several fractured ribs some minor contusions and multiple cuts with shrapnel fragments embedded into her back. Some quick and fairly minor surgery was all that was needed fortunately nothing went deep enough to cause any long lasting damage. She also had a grazed gunshot wound which nearly became infected but the antibiotics did their job just in time. Finally she was also admitted because of head trauma she had a moderate concussion symptoms of which she'll probably feel for a few more weeks at the least.

Though despite all of that Mae continued to sleep quite soundly she was the type of person who found it easier to sleep during the day as it was already half past 3 pm. Though something else may have been the culprit of her peaceful sleep. A puddle of saliva had formed on the pillow Mae was clutching with her head pressed deeply into it. She drooled heavily while she snored though her snoring was pretty muffled by the pillow so it wasn't disturbing Bea at all.

The sound of birds chirping loudly outside on a telephone wire could be heard they harmonized beautifully. A gust of wind blew in through the opened window ruffling Bea's blanket blowing it off of her face. She slowly opened her eyes before yawning a toothy yawn as she sat up in the sofa feeling the tingling effects spike in her back from having slept on this hard ass thing for two days straight. Bea turned tossing her legs over the side of the sofa she glanced over toward Mae she snorted chuckling at seeing Mae's butt raised up into the air.

"Oy Mae! Mae!" Bea called out as she slowly pushed herself up off of the sofa her bare feet touched the cool tile flooring of the hospital room it was a bit refreshing. She stepped over toward Mae who's ears we're wiggling in dismay as she squeezed her legs together she appeared to be on the verge of waking. Mae clutched the pillow tighter as she unconsciously rubbed her face back and forth against it getting drool all over her face in the process.

Bea smirked a devious sneer as a criminal idea popped up in her head she slowly raised a hand up into the air directly behind Mae's exposed tush. Bea gave her a good slap causing Mae's eyes to shoot open suddenly and quite widely as her tail stood up on end a static shock ran up the cat's back. Bea chuckled softly as Mae squirmed in bed she tossed and turned fighting against the covers trying to sit up while she at the same time tried to guard her rear with her gown.

"Agh! Damnit Bea you startled me! You fucking asshole!" Mae shouted as she feverishly covered herself up in the blankets that were scattered around. Bea simply continued to chuckle as she watched Mae's face light up a bit red as the cat gritted her teeth baring her fangs. "S-serves you right for sleeping so carefree with your butt just hanging out, you dolt!" Bea poked fun at Mae as she hopped up sitting at the foot of the bed. "So... Mae h-how... how are you feeling today?" Bea asked softly causing Mae's expression to simmer calming down just a lil as the atmosphere in the room became a bit more serious.

"I'm... I'm doing better... I... I feel better... though my back still hurts so I don't like to lay on it. My shoulders are still a bit stiff course that's probably just from being cramped up in this freakin room tho! My chest hurts sometimes too and when I take really deep breaths or yawn..." Mae complained while letting the cover fall down around her waist as she attempted to stretch out her arms they made a little slightly audible popping sound. "Th-that's good... I think... I'm glad you're starting to feel better at least..." Bea spoke lightly as she turned to look away from Mae who had caught glimpse of a frown making its way onto Bea's face. "B-Bea..."

"Bea... ho-how are you... how... how are you doing?" Mae questioned very hesitantly as she lowered her arms to her sides. Bea just sighed in response while staring blankly into the distance not sure exactly how to respond. "W-why did you... why did you decide to stay here with me for all these days?" Mae questioned a bit curious but she knew it'd probably be easier to answer she mostly just wanted to hear her friend talk. Bea merely sighed heavily once more causing Mae to frown she didn't know if she had done anything wrong.

"Bea... I'm sor-" "-...I didn't want to go home... I c-couldn't... I c-can't face it, that empty sad lonely apartment... full of nothing and yet everything... I d-don't ever wanna g-go back there again... I don't..." Bea stuttered out weakly as she raised her knees up and held them close to her chest forming the fetal position. Mae threw the covers off of herself and quickly scooted down the bed toward her friend. "B...Bea... I..." Mae stammered before trying to reach out and touch Bea she stopped midway hesitating a bit afraid not sure now to comfort her. "I'm sorry Bea... if... if you... if you want we can, we can go by your place, t-together... we can g-get a few things and you can stay with me and my parents for a while if... if you want to that is...!" Mae offered speaking ever so softly her tone a bit shaky as she gently wrapped an arm around her friend's back. Mae sighed heavily her face grew long as she listened to Bea's breathing for a moment. "Th-thank you for staying with me Bea... I h-hate hospitals and having you here, made it better..." Mae continued sympathetically as she slowly nuzzled her nose against the side of Bea's face stirring the croc who raised her head up out of her wallowing to see Mae smiling right at her.

"Heh... Mae... I... th... th-thanks... I j-just don't wanna go home right now at all... so wh-whenever you're ready, we can just go to your place, if that's cool with you..." Bea finally replied quietly her tone low and trembling still. Mae placed a hand on her friend's knee trying to give her some form of comfort though she wasn't the best at it still she wanted to try. "Yea sure thing Bea... b-but I think I'ma take a shower real quick okay, then we can leave!" Mae spoke calmly as she pulled away from Bea and hopped down off the bed.

Bea chuckled lightly at seeing Mae's bum once again her crack was hidden by her tail as she stepped away toward the bathroom. Mae glanced over her shoulder smirking seeing Bea was staring at her the croc quickly snapped her head to the side looking away Mae simply giggled while she closed the bathroom door shut behind her. The sound of rushing water could be heard instantly Bea sighed as she hopped out of bed while reaching in her front pocket to get a cigarette. Bea pressed her paw in against her shirt not feeling anything her pack was gone she suddenly fell into a frenzy as she bolted toward the sofa to search for it.

"Where... where is it... where is it! Where..." Bea chanted feeling the urge overtake her she desperately needed a hit of nicotine. Little did she know Mae had hid her smokes in a futile attempt to get her to quit. Bea searched franticly as she tossed her pillows and blankets in the floor she even pulled out the sofa cushions. Bea breathed heavily as she starred blankly down at the dark metal springs in the sofa. Bea fell back on her butt sitting in the floor she glanced to her right seeing sunlight shining in through the window the rays were visible due to the excess dust in the room it was actually beautiful. Bea nearly gave up on her search when she noticed something seemingly out of place flowers sitting in vases on the windowsill.

"Those weren't there yesterday, were they?" Bea questioned quietly as she hopped up and quickly bolted toward them she stood in front of the opened window. A breeze of fresh air blew in smelling faintly of flowers and a bit of rain it was delightful Bea noticed little tags tied around the glass vases. "Selma...! Lori...? Germ?! Wow Germ brought Mae flowers... and who's Lori?" Bea muttered lowly as she eyed the colorful cards with a small smile on her face. She took a whiff of the flowers they were shimmering in the sunlight someone had watered them recently little bubbles of water sat on the leaves reflecting light so beautifully.

Bea's eyes twitched as the feeling once subsided returned causing her to feel flustered and sweaty once more. She turned while her eyes shot darting around the room searching for where they could be. "Uhh... I never lose my pack, what the fuck is up!" Bea yelled grouchily to herself through clinched teeth she suddenly began to suspect her soon to be roommate as paranoia set in. "I-I... w-wouldn't lose them s-so they must be..."

The crocodile swiftly stepped over toward Mae's bed she ripped the blankets and sheets off furiously in the process her butt bumped into the pull out table on wheels behind her knocking over a few sodas and a large mug of water that was on it. Bea jumped startled at hearing them fall crashing onto the floor she stepped back her foot splashing in the puddle getting sticky from an orange drink. Bea looked down seeing a mixture of colorful liquids warping around her feet and staining the sheets lying half way in the floor.

The crocodile sighed heavily as she slowly glanced panning around seeing the chaos that she had unleashed upon the innocent room. Pillows and blankets littered the floors feathers from the abused pillows were flying drifting down falling through the air. She gulped harshly her mouth felt extremely dry, ironically she'd just knocked over all of the drinks. "Damn it!" Bea muttered as she gritted her teeth harder fuming a bit. Bea slumped forward stomping across the room rampaging toward the bathroom door where the sound of gentle humming along with loud rushing water could be heard emanating from within.

"Damnit Mae! Where are my fucking smokes!" Bea screamed aloud as she turned the knob and barged inside the bathroom. Steam rushed out past Bea through the opened doorway as the croc stood frozen in aw her eyes widened her mouth hanging agape. Bea temporarily forgot that there was no curtains or anything privacy related for the shower because the entire flooring in the bathroom was waterproofed with a drain to be more handicap accessible. Bea gulped as she stood paralyzed watching Mae whom was sitting on the floor with her legs spread wide apart doing some real thorough cleaning.

"M...M... Mae..." Bea managed to mumble stuttering weakly as sweat ran down the sides of her face she blinked her eyes rapidly unsure if she wanted to look away or not she hadn't decided yet. Bea realized now that she wasn't hearing humming it was erotic moaning she mistook them for. Mae had her eyes closed as hot water poured washing over her furry naked body. The young cat had one paw raised up tenderly groping her tiny nonexistent breast while she had her other paw down between her legs moving to and fro. Bea gulped swallowing harshly as she slowly began to step back she convinced herself that Mae somehow hadn't noticed her yet and she wanted to keep it that way. Though as fate would have it today was just not her day to be stealthy as her sticky soda stained bare foot slipped on the moist tile causing her to fall backwards.

With Mae's trance broken her eyes suddenly shot open at hearing the loud thud and some strange groaning mere feet away from her. Mae gasped at seeing Bea lying on her back in the door way her face grew a little flustered as she blushed lightly realizing Bea musta been watching her. Mae grew concerned at hearing her groaning so she stopped her exploration and curiously crawled on all fours over toward Bea. Her body dripping wet she neared the croc slowly.

Bea's eyes spun with twirls as Mae crawled beside of her. "Uhh... Bea... Bea... Bea you perv... Bea are you alright...?" Mae asked as she lowered a paw and gently slapped her on the cheek it made a rather satisfying smacking noise that caused Mae to giggle squeakily. Bea blinked her eyes as the back of her head throbbed she glanced up and over to her left seeing Mae looking down at her. Bea's vision blurred a bit as she tried to push herself up Mae gave her a hand and supported her with a paw.

"Mae..." Bea groaned out softly as she looked over toward her friend out of the corner of her eye she made an effort not to stare. "Mae, did... d-did you... did you really have to do that while I was in the same room..." Bea spoke embarrassed with a light hearted chuckle. Mae giggled innocently before suddenly glomping Bea hugging her tightly with her wet bare naked body surprising the croc. Bea shivered and trembled utterly taken off guard at feeling Mae wrap her soaking wet arms around her so suddenly and in her current wardrobe no less.

"That's why you should knock before entering!" Mae uttered a bit evilly through gritted teeth it sent a chill running down Bea's back she shuttered at feeling Mae's chest rubbing against her arm she now regretted going inside the bathroom. "Wh-why d-didn't you l-lock the door, or something..." Bea retorted with a shallow breath. Mae simply moved closer in response she pressed her lips against Bea's ear while breathing a burst of hot air into her ear canal sending even more chills rushing down the trembling croc's back.

Bea sat completely and utterly paralyzed a crude grin on her face as she stared blankly into the bathroom her heart was pounding out of her chest. "Maybe... just maybe... I...wanted...you... to... come... inside..." Mae spoke coyly in an ever so serious tone as a shadow loomed over her eyes she grinned devilishly seeing Bea's reaction was priceless and oh so worth it. Bea's head shook as bullets of sweat shot right out of her pores like shells ejecting after machine gun fire.

Mae suddenly burst out into laughter as she gently smacked Bea on the back repeatedly. "I'm just teasing ya Bea...!" Mae giggled out. "But seriously what do you want, I'm... I'm kinda busy in here!" Mae admitted as she quickly stood up and darted back over toward the faucet spewing warm water. Her body had grown a bit cold from the outside air seeping into the bathroom from the opened door. Bea continued sitting a bit concussed as to what had just happened she thought she might need therapy but then she realized rather quickly that she probably couldn't afford it.

Bea glanced up from her dazed state seeing that Mae was standing over in the corner with her back toward her she was already lathering up again as foamy soap bubbles fell to the floor by her feet. Bea's sight fixated to her friend's back she frowned at seeing a few fresh scars littering Mae's back. She knew she was the one who had caused them it made her stomach ache all of sudden. "If... if you're gonna stay Bea... c-could you at least close the door!" Mae blushed asking softly mumbling while glancing over her shoulder to see Bea who was unmoving on the floor looking a bit glum.

Mae sluggishly turned around lowering a paw covering her privates she did feel a little embarrassed standing straight on at her friend. "B...Bea... w-what's wrong...?" Mae questioned concerned while soap suds ran down her chest and belly. Bea sighed heavily before jumping up while firmly holding onto the door frame so she didn't trip again, one head injury was quite enough for her. "S...sorry!" Bea muttered weakly as she turned to walk away she grabbed the door knob and pulled the door along with her.

Before Bea could fully close the door shut Mae suddenly grabbed the door holding it open she had within a singular instant stepped over toward Bea. "N-no... wait... Bea... what's wrong... I... I was only joking around, okay... hey come on now... I'm sorry!" Mae pleaded innocently after seeing that Bea's expression had changed entirely Mae was only fooling around she didn't think Bea would get upset over it though. Bea cocked her head slightly looking at Mae through the crack in the door. Mae's eyes watered a bit as she stared at her friend confused as to what happened so suddenly.

"Bea... Bea, I'm y-your friend... you-you can talk to me..." Mae assured her as she tried to pull the door open further but Bea was holding tightly onto the knob stopping her she just couldn't come to terms with things as they are. "Pl-please Bea talk to me did I do something... please, I... I hate seeing you like this... I... I like when you smile!" Mae uttered as Bea's eyes widened hearing that she loosened her grip on the door but unbeknownst to her Mae was still pulling on it and she had pulled it hard enough to send it slamming back into her chest. Mae fell back on her butt it briefly knocked the breath out of her and left a little impression between her semi flat boobies from where the corner edge of the door had struck her. Bea stood in the doorway with both hands raised up covering her mouth as she gasped in shock.

"Oh... oh my gosh... I'm... I'm so sorry Mae... I... I j-just keep hurting you...!" Bea stuttered painfully as she quickly stepped inside and knelt down in front of her friend who was inspecting her chest and trying to catch her lost breath. "No... no, Bea... it's okay... I... I was... I was pulling on the door... hehe!" Mae chuckled in between gasps finally she caught her breath as she glanced up seeing Bea holding out a hand for her. She grabbed it carefully and pulled herself up Bea sighed heavily before looking downward with a depressed look dawning upon her face yet again. Mae saw her chance and took it she quickly stepped around Bea closing the door shut and locking it trapping them both inside.

"Bea what's wrong... I... I won't let you out until you tell me!" Mae demanded in a fierce tone as she glared at Bea who simply remained quiet. Outside the bathroom a nurse peeked into the room through a crack in the door seeing it was an absolute disaster. Bea stood still just thinking, she was in a nightshirt and some short ankle cut jeans that the hospital had lent her she did arrive covered in blood. Her clothes were quickly getting drenched the longer she stood each passing second just a few feet away from the running faucet as the water hit the floor it splashed up on her. The feverish crocodile sighed heavily before turning to face Mae who had quietly walked over toward her and was standing only a few inches away still glaring.

The two stood in front of one another gazing into each other's eyes silently. Bea's snout extended out a bit her nose touched the tip of Mae's it felt a tad bit cold and was very soft. "I'm sorry Mae..." Bea uttered breathing heavily her hot breath blew onto Mae's face as the female kitty distended her eyes. "For... for what?" Mae questioned a bit confused as she cocked a single eyebrow upward. "For... for putting you in the hospital..." Bea continued her voice grew hollow as she sluggishly lowered her head downward she could see Mae's cute tummy extending out a bit she blushed lightly at just now realizing she was still stark naked while having this conversation.

Mae suddenly grabbed ahold of Bea's head violently lifting it upward and staring her dead in the eyes once more. "Bea...! Listen, you didn't... you... this isn't... this isn't your fault, none of it... okay... so just come on... d-don't blame yourself...-" "The scares on your back and on your right arm... they're because of me I did that, I did it... I did it when I...-" Mae suddenly slapped Bea in the face cutting her off so she couldn't finish. Bea slowly stepped back a few inches as she wobbled side to side her cheek throbbed glowing red as she looked to Mae who was growing angry.

"When you what?! HUH! When you tired to kill yourself... when you pointed at gun your head and pulled the tigger!" Mae screamed out suddenly as a few tears blinded her overflowing out sliding down her cheeks it just appeared to be normal water as it mixed blending in with her wet fur. Bea's eyes widened as she looked at Mae seeing her face cringing tightly her snout crinkled up. "Bea I did that, not you... if I'm in this hospital now, it's because of what I've done, not you... all I did was stop you, I stopped you... and... and I... I still don't know if what I did was right or not... all I know is, is I... I just wanted you to not be gone... I know I'm probably just being a big selfish stupid idiot cry baby b-but... I... I don't want you to be gone Bea! I'd get myself hurt a thousand times over again if it meant saving you!" Mae uttered her tone low and shaky as she slowly opened her eyes only to see Bea's shoulder overtake her vision.

Bea while Mae was talking stood up straight and quietly stepped in front of Mae watching as her friend cried and shook in place. Bea wrapped both of her arms around Mae's back pulling her into a hug, a tight and warm one. Bea sniffled lightly so did Mae as the shorter female cat raised her arms up and hugged her back. "It wasn't selfish... I'm glad you saved me... Mae... I... I was so scared when you fell over in my bedroom... I was so scared of losing you too as I picked you up I felt your warm blood soak through my clothes it horrified me..." Bea spoke weakly as her eyes swelled up as well. The two girls held each other close taking comfort in one another's presence.

"Yea... hehe... I... I was scared too...!" Mae muttered her voiced a bit muffled by Bea's shoulder the croc was a tad taller than Mae after all probably by a good nine inches or so. The two broke free from their hug releasing each other from their embrace. Mae smiled at Bea causing the crocodile to blush once more she couldn't help but smile as well seeing Mae do so was quite the delight. "Hey... Beatrice!" Mae called out really getting her attention as the croc focused on her. "Wh-what...?" The croc gulped seeing Mae's smile fade into a grin. "C-can you wash my back...?!" Mae questioned with a little giggle as she made a feeble attempt to reach behind herself it proved a tad difficult for her as her arms weren't that flexible plus they were especially stiff from lying around in bed for two days.

"Oh is... is that all..." Bea replied coyly followed with a light chuckle before she began lifting her shirt up over her head to take it off. "Wh-what are you doing?" Mae asked while jumping back her voice suddenly peeking higher in pitch as she covered her eyes. "Heh what! You wanted me to wash your back... I wash yours, you wash mine... I haven't showered in a few days either... n-not since..." Bea stopped suddenly not wanting to finish that sentence. She shook her head clearing her depressive thoughts as she lifted her shirt off and tossed it over into the corner it made a loud sloshing sound since it was already pretty soaked.

Mae lowered her paws she spectated as Bea grabbed the sides of her jeans and jerked them down in one sweeping motion they fell to the floor. Mae admired Bea's naked body her chest was a bit more firm than Mae's pudgy one this was probably due to the fact that Bea actually worked for a living. Bea stepped out of the jeans and used one leg to kick them back into the same corner with the shirt behind her. Bea glanced over to Mae seeing her staring made the croc blush a tad feeling only slightly creeped out. "W-well come on let's do this! I'll wash yours first, alright!" Bea muttered.

Both Mae and Bea stood underneath the faucet as it rained warm water down onto them. Mae slightly leaned forward pressing her forehead against the cold damp wall as Bea grabbed the bar of soap and a loofa she lathered it up nice and good before pressing it into the feline's back. Mae all of a sudden groaned out in pain instantly startling Bea who pulled the loofa away real quick. "M-Mae are you-" "I'm... I'm alright j-just... just go easy on my back, okay... it still hurts when anything touches it..." Mae explained as she panted lightly having her breath stolen once more and not in the good way. "S-sorry... I know, I'm pretty rough..." Bea sighed out heavily as she carefully raised the loofa up wanting to try that again as she did little gentle spiral patterns on the feline's back somewhat massaging her this time she was greeted with timid moans from the cat. "Oh, hehe yea... th-that's much better... hehe!" Mae uttered with tapered bliss in her tone.

Bea washed Mae's back carefully she eyed the many scars staring at them she gulped feeling bad about it still not sure if this feeling would ever subside. Foamy soap suds ran down Mae's back through her thick dark blue fur. While Bea wasn't paying attention Mae had slowly lifted up her tail and proceeded to caress Bea's stomach doing circles around her belly button teasing her with it the croc shuttered with a little snicker at feeling it so suddenly she tried to hold in the chuckles. "M-M... M-Mae d-do you w-want me t-to wash you or n-not...?" Bea asked stuttering with electricity rushing up her back feeling slightly uncomfortable at the sensual sensation. "Hehe fooy you're no fun!" Mae poked back.

"Th-there, I think I got you pretty spiffy now!" Bea announced a bit awkwardly as Mae turned around giving the croc a giddy smile. "Thanks Bea... hehe you did great, it felt really nice too! Ima have to have you do that more often..." Mae complimented causing the croc to smile happily at hearing that. "Here turn around, I'll do you too!" Mae added as she grabbed the loofa out of Bea's hand. Bea blushed lightly before complying and turning around for Mae who stared at the croc's scales glistening with the water rushing down her back. She went to work lathering the loofa up quickly Bea stared at the wall as she felt Mae somewhat ferociously scrub her back it was nice though because her scales were pretty thick.

Bea moaned out feeling utterly relaxed with the warm water rushing over her as well as her friend who was massaging her back the sweet smell of the hospital soap in the air was actually nice it smelled vaguely of blueberries and pomegranate she thought about stealing a bar it was so nice. Mae began humming suddenly actually humming this time as a vivid image unexpectedly flashed in Bea's mind suddenly taking her off guard making her jump slightly though Mae didn't seem to notice.

"Uhh... h-hey Mae..." Bea spoke out suddenly her voice low beneath the humming and loud gushing faucet. "Yea what is it Bea?" The cat happily replied asking softly as she kept massaging the croc's back her scales were doing a number on the poor loofa however. "Earlier... earlier wh-when I... when I barged in... you were, you were getting busy!" Bea paused for a moment as Mae's cheeks suddenly lit up a bright red the same color as her hair dye. "Uh... hehe... yea..." Mae shuttered weakly before gulping swallowing tightly suddenly feeling a rush of nervousness overcome her.

Bea sighed heavily composing herself for just a moment. "Do... do you... do you want some help..." the crocodile asked timidly as Mae gasped suddenly and quite audibly I might add. "H-how... how, how... how w-would... y-you help?" Mae questioned a bit shocked overtaken by surprise and a little fear that was deeply evident in her tone. Bea turned around slowly Mae had stopped scrubbing and stepped back a little bit dropping the loofa to the floor it made a loud smack splashing noise as it collided with the tile floor. Mae sluggishly pressed her back against the chilly soapy wall as her tail lifted up from between her legs guarding her lady parts.

"You... you know if... if you want too... I... I could help... I don't mind..." Bea spoke softly and calmly as she gently placed a hand on Mae's stomach while stepping closer toward her. Her hand rested just above the cat's belly button her tummy was a bit chubby and squishy the croc carefully pressed one finger in a bit harder than the others. Mae glanced down to Bea's hand briefly before looking back up to her who smiled softly. "W...wh-what, what would you do?" Mae repeated a little more relaxed but still audibly resistant as she placed a paw on top of Bea's hand.

Bea smirked coyly as she stepped even closer her boobies pressed against the back of Mae's paw. "Wh-what do you want me to do..." Mae's eyes suddenly widened hearing Bea say that so sensually it was freaking her out a little bit. "I... I... dunno... Bea... I've never... I've never done anything... like that... with anyone before..." Mae stuttered out shyly as she stared at Bea who quickly noticed how distressed Mae had become all of a sudden. Bea sluggishly crept back and pulled her hand away realizing she was doing harm but as she did Mae suddenly grabbed her hand holding onto it tightly.

"I... I've only ever been with Cole... an-and all we ever did was kiss really... s-so... I..." Mae spoke out lowly as she looked up at Bea while still clutching her hand tightly. "I don't... I don't have too... I'm... I'm sorry... for making it weird..." Bea blurted out sheepishly while her cheeks lit up with embarrassment as she turned her head to the side. Mae stood holding Bea's hand she really wasn't sure what she wanted but she did know that she didn't want to let go of her hand she held clinging onto it tightly.

After a few moments of silence Mae surprisingly jumped forward pressing her moist naked body against Bea's surprising the hell out of the reptile who jumped a bit. Bea's eyes dilated widely at suddenly finding herself lip locked with the spritely feline who had wrapped her arms around her back. A bead of sweat mixed with the water slid down the croc's face as she for a moment just stared at Mae who had her eyes closed while still kissing her. A staticky electric sensation tickled the croc's lips she couldn't believe what was happening as she slowly closed her eyes and proceeded to press back against the kitty's soft and supple lips while wrapped her arms around her neck holding her close.

Mae's heart raced pounding out of her chest as she slowly opened her eyes seeing Bea directly in front of her, it was real, she had done it she couldn't believe it. Mae could taste her lips they were stained with cigarette smoke which at first was off putting, but Mae didn't mind she felt happy being this close to Bea she could feel the croc's chest against her own pudgy stomach it felt nice this psychical contact for the first time ever. Mae lowered her paws gliding them down Bea's back she gently grabbed ahold of the croc's ass feeling it was quiet firm indeed.

Bea slowly broke the kiss pulling her lips back away from Mae's they both gazed into one another's eyes taking in the moment trying to capture it forever. "Hehe... hehehe!" Mae giggled suddenly causing Bea to just grin at the cute kitten's reaction. Bea couldn't believe Mae had done that she was so terrified for a moment that she wanted to jump out of a window for being so weird Bea soon joined in chuckling softly along with Mae. "Let's just start with a kiss... okay..." Mae spoke kindly instantly garnering Bea's attention the croc smiled widely at hearing that. "Hehe sounds good to me... to be honest I was a bit nervous... I... I dunno what I was saying a few seconds ago... something... something just came over me..." Bea admitted a bit anxiously causing Mae to giggle even more she was just happy for once.

A few minutes later the door to the bathroom suddenly cracked opening slowly the door creaked aloud as it moved. Mae and Bea both stepped out laughing happily together they were both draped in towels as water dripped from them. A nurse was in the room tidying up the room it was a complete disaster she suddenly glanced over to the two who gave the expression of a deer caught in headlights. Both girls wrapped in towels blushed brightly at seeing the girl here they wondered how long she'd been in the room and now much she might have overheard.

"Oh hehe hello Margaret and to you too Beatrice...! I... I was just cleaning up it was like a hurricane hit this place, what happened?" The nurse questioned with a gentle smile Bea suddenly broke out into anxious chuckles as she raised a hand scratching the back of her head a bit nervously. "Oh yes I nearly forgot Margaret, Beatrice... I had your clothes laundered they were cleaned and ironed the blood thankfully came out. I dunno who did it or how they did but they must be a serial murderer or something to get that much blood out of your shirts and jacket and even your jeans. They're over by the window for you both. I'll step out so you two can get dressed!" The nursed explained as she walked past the two girls who were still both in shock at seeing her.

"Oh... uh uh... th-thanks!" Mae awkwardly yelled out as the lady closed the door behind her. Bea stepped over toward their clothes her half empty pack of smokes was sitting on top of her neatly folded clothes. Bea picked it up holding it tightly she didn't feel the urge for nicotine anymore least in this moment anyway. Mae stood beside of her as she glared at the pack. "B-Bea I... I wished you would consider quitting... your... your lips didn't taste that good..." Mae complained causing a stress mark to form on Bea's forehead though it dissipated quickly as she chuckled. "Well... I was thinking I might try too... b-but you kno... your lips didn't taste so hot either, it was like a mixture of blood and bacon!" Bea quipped back causing Mae to merely chuckle along with her. "Yea not a good combination I assure you! But I could have sworn I hide those, guess the nurse found em and left em here..." Mae added as she used her towel to dry off her head while letting the sunlight shining in through the window dry her off it felt so nice and warm.

Mae dried her head off trying her damndest to get the water out of her ears it proved rather difficult for her as her arms kept wanting to ache. Mae after lowering the towel she finally took notice to the couple small glass vases of flowers on the windowsill in front of her. "Whoa... are these... are these for me...!" Mae questioned feeling unworthy as she slowly stepped closer toward them while she dropped her towel in the floor landing on top of her feet. Bea was gliding her towel between her legs drying off quite thoroughly she glanced up over toward Mae who was sniffing away at the beautiful array of flowers. "Oh yea... I think maybe we had visitors while we were asleep, or maybe they came and just dropped them off for the nurses but I was shocked too..." Bea explained as she pulled her toward up then began to dry her back being careful not to ruin the towel on her scales they could prove sharp at times.

Mae suddenly sneezed as she turned her head making and effort not to sneeze on the flowers. Bea blinked her eyes as anger welled up from within her while droplets of snot ran down her face. "Oh thanks Mae you shouldn't have..." Bea spoke cynically while she wiped her face clear with the towel Mae snickered before bending over reaching for hers. "Hehe sorry Bea... don't worry I'm not that contagious..." Mae uttered jokingly causing one of Bea's eyes to twitch. "I can't believe Germ brought me flowers, and even Lori too... I haven't seen her in a few weeks, I wonder what she's up too?" Mae questioned lowly to herself as she continued to dry off Bea glanced over to Mae at hearing that name. "Oh yea who is Lori... I don't think I've ever met her?" Bea asked curiously. "She's... she's a weird girl who likes to hang out on rooftops and sleep on train tracks and likes horror movies like Hitchcock likes apple pie!" Mae muttered thinking about the teenage mouse. "I should introduce you to her she's pretty cool...!" Mae added as she turned to give Bea a soft smile.

Roughly twenty minutes or so later the two girls walked side by side out of the front entrance of the hospital. Sunlight bared down onto them as the smell of pollen was thick in the air a gentle breeze brushed past carrying another strange scent along with it. "Man I swear that cook makes the best bacon I've ever tasted ever!" Mae giddily spoke as she held up a handful of greasy bacon that she had swiped from the hospital cafeteria though it was free to begin with so yea.

"Ar-are you... are you sure you don't want me to.. to like... to push you in a wheelchair or anything...?" Bea questioned a bit concerned as she had noticed that Mae was wobbling a little after getting off the elevator. "The docs said your should take it easy!" Bea added as she suddenly grabbed ahold of Mae's free paw just in case she decided to take a tumble. "Aw you wanna hold mah paw Beeatwice!" Mae spoke in a squeaky condescending tone when all of sudden she tripped on the single step curb of the sidewalk that was also her ego.

Thankfully Bea held onto her tightly so she didn't fall seems she was right in her instinct, though she was tempted to drop her. The crocodile sighed heavily feeling a bit superior all of a sudden. "See..." was all Bea uttered rather smugly as Mae made a pouty face of annoyance before sliding an entire stripe of bacon in her mouth. "Emmm...!" Mae moaned out through stuffed cheeks as Bea pulled her up onto her two feet and they continued on down the sidewalk. "Ugh wish we had your car having to walk all the way is a pain." Mae complained as they marched along. Mae extended a paw holding a single piece of bacon offering it to the croc who's nose sniffed taking in the aroma. "Thanks... I'm surprised you're giving me one..."

The two girls walked side by side for several minutes while devouring strip after strip of bacon their supply quickly ran dry as Mae had panicked after nicking twelve slices and decided to make a tactical retreat for fear of being caught when somebody gave her a weird look. Bea held two bags in her right hand, in one she had loaded up with a couple bars of that sweet smelling soap. The other had the flowers that were left for Mae along with the vases wrapped in newspaper courtesy of the nurse. Mae felt so good to finally get out of that shitty somewhat depressive hospital room, really though all hospitals are depressing.

Bea glanced over at Mae out of the corner of her eye seeing the cat smiling sure was something else. Her dark blue fur glowed a little amidst the sunlight probably because it was still a tad moist she hadn't dried off very well. Bea's nostrils suddenly picked up on something odd in the air she sniffed taking in the scent. Mae could hear Bea audibly sniffing she turned her head to see what was up. "Hey something wrong?" Mae questioned as she too began to smell the air taking a few whiffs she too quickly picked up on it. Suddenly a loud blaring siren started up startling the two girls who jumped up and away from the road.

"Mae is that you? I was just on my way to visit you!" A female voice called out. Both Bea and Mae cleared their head and turned looking over into the road seeing a police car with the bright flashing lights shining on top. Office Molly sat in the front seat holding a cup of coffee as she stuck her head out the window to greet the ladies. "You two want a ride? Hop in the back." Molly offered with a kind smile as she unlocked the doors Mae felt a tad creeped out she didn't quite trust Molly but she really didn't want to walk so at the risk of being dismembered and eaten she figured it was worth it. "Thanks!" Bea stared as she reached for the handle to open the door. "Yea... th-thanks!" Mae added a bit awkwardly as she cocked a brow at the officer who merely raised her coffee up at the young cat.

Both Mae and Bea piled into the backseat of the police cruiser. Mae felt a bit uncomfortable when Molly suddenly locked the car doors she adjusted her rear view mirror fixed on the two in the backseat she stared at them. "Aunt Mall- Molly... wh-what's going on?" Mae asked a bit nervously. "What nothing's going on... I just don't want you barrel rolling out of the car while we are moving again you could have killed yourself!" Molly explained with widened eyes sounding genuinely concerned Bea gasped turning to look at Mae. "What the hell... why would you do that are you crazy!" Bea demanded angrily as she glared fierce daggers at the cat who quickly raised her paws up defending her face.

"Haha I might be a smidge... b-but seriously, I saw a chance and I took it, and besides it only hurt a little!" Mae explained shuttering lowly causing Molly to chuckle at hearing that. "Yea a little huh? Alright whatever you say kid, tell that to the sprained ankle you got, as I recall you couldn't walk for a week!" Molly poked causing Mae to fume angrily with clinched fists. "You wanna go, come on... unlock this door right now, you and me right here let's go, no tasers tho!" Mae shouted as she fiddled with the door handle desperately trying to get out of the back of the car. Officer Molly stared at Mae seeing how energetic she was as she brutally attacked the door.

An image of Mae covered in blood being held in Beatrice's arms flashed through her mind briefly. This caused her to bite her lower lip drawing blood she felt utterly useless as a civilian defender when her own niece could be harmed so badly. Molly was so terrified that night when Bea came out of the apartment building holding Mae she was so unprepared. "Mae... I'm... I'm glad you are alright... I was... I was worried about you!" Molly spoke weakly Mae's ears peeked up at hearing those sincere words she ceased her attempts to escape sitting back peacefully. "Th-thanks aunt Molly..." Mae replied softly as Molly put the car in drive the vehicle rumbled loudly while the drove along down the street.

After a few minutes they had made their way into town, traffic wasn't too bad thankfully. Bea and Mae sat in the backseat the windows down wind blowing in feeling so nice on this hot summer's day. Mae had her arm stuck out the window waving it up and down in the air pushing against her paw. Bea sat feeling a tad bit bored as a craving suddenly began rising up from within her she slowly reached for her pack of cigarettes. She slowly pulled the box out of her front pocket she stared down at it for a moment before her eyes widened at smelling that same scent in the air once again this time it was more intense. "Wh-what is that...?" Mae asked suddenly as she turned toward Bea. "It smells like smoke... or maybe something burning..." Just as those words slipped from the crocodile's mouth she had turned her head looking out of the window seeing her apartment building across the street just as they were about to pass it by.

There was a large puddle of water out in the road the seal on the fire hydrant had been broken very recently. Bea's eyes distended wider as her pupils shook she dropped her pack of smokes they fell to the floor of the car. Mae gasped aloud as she quickly raised her paws up covering her mouth she couldn't believe the sight before her. Molly stopped at a red light she was completely oblivious. Bea began trembling as she stared helplessly at her apartment building, the entire building was charred blackened it had just been set ablaze all of the windows had been busted out most likely from where fire fighters had to spray them with water. Images of her parents flashed rapidly in Bea's mind as tears swelled up overflowing from her eyes. She thought of the precious photographs of her mother and father, and of her dad's favorite baseball bat and mitten and of her mom's hand written recipe book as well as many other irreplaceable things that kept popping up all of sudden they dwelled in her mind causing her tremendous pain. Everything, every single thing faded away to nothingness to sheer blackness as Beatrice just stared awestricken.
