Hello, everyone! This is a new chapter! Chapter 8! I hope everyone will enjoy this chapter and without further ado, let's start!
Normal POV
After Kai had fallen asleep, Aichi turned to Nerva, who was sitting on another chair as he took another chair to sit beside him.
" Feeling bad now?"
" Sorry, I didn't think about his feelings."
" It's okay. You were trying to teach him something, but it wasn't the time yet. Kai-kun is pretty sensitive about the topic of his parents. It's no surprise that he reacted this way."
" Yeah, I know." Nerva said as he looked up at the ceiling, " I remember how we first met. I think I was discplining some kids for making a mess of the crops."
" You were also strict back then when it came to serious business about the village. I felt a little bad for the kids back then and reprimanded you when they left."
" I almost wanted to faint. Imagine, someone from the Goddess clan suddenly flies down towards you just to ask you to not be mean to the kids. I almost thought you might've wanted to kill me for it."
" I didn't. I just found humans interesting. The castle in the sky was so boring for me. Ever since then, I kept walking on my own two feet without the use of my wings. I felt so much lighter for the first time. Then I interacted with you a lot, and fell in love. You were the one who guided me through the world of humans. I was really grateful."
" Me too. I was glad I met you. I just didn't think our roles would be reversed now. You're the human and I'm the immortal."
" It's fine. I love this world and the people here. Perishing as a human doesn't sound bad either, considering the amount of times I reincarnated."
" Aichi..."
Aichi smiled and leaned on Nerva's shoulder.
" I love you both so much. I'm happy to have this chance again."
" ... Me too, Aichi."
They stayed that way for a few minutes when the curtains opened all of a sudden and 'Kai' froze upon seeing them. Both were also surprised by this as Aichi hastily got up while blushing.
" H-Hey there."
" H-Hey... I didn't interrupt anything, did I?"
" N-No! Of course not!"
'Kai' took a chair and sat near them as he glanced at the sleeping Kai on the bed opposite them two with Ginga beside him before turning back to them.
" You two are..."
" ... You see... Remember how I said that there were other clans that lived in this world before? That child is from the Goddess clan as I've explained. My past self was also part of the Goddess clan before I died and received the curse of reincarnation. It was during that time that I met him. It's been a few thousand years ago."
" How did you survive?"
" I didn't. I was supposed to die from an attack by his clan when they disapproved our relationship. You know, because he's a Goddess and I'm a human. Aichi used the Blessing he had been given by his mother, the Supreme Goddess, to revive me and thus, my immortal body. It took me until now to find him again, so..."
" And... You're sharing him with..."
" Yeah. I don't mind. As long as we're all comfortable with it... Kai never complained either. He just accepted it."
" I see..." 'Kai' said as he thought about something before taking a deep breath, " Actually, about my parents... I'm sorry. I didn't think about his feelings and said something horrible that he shouldn't have heard."
" You didn't know that your circumstances were different either, it's not a big deal."
" It is. Being abandoned and being orphaned are two different kinds of pain. He was orphaned because his parents died and I was abandoned because my parents' had failed in their business venture and laundered money from the family business. I... I was angry and hurt. I was thrown to different households because they couldn't handle the son of thieves. Hearing and seeing someone with the name 'Kai' was just too annoying to them. So when they sent money again for my high school, I moved back and got an apartment."
" You felt betrayed."
" ... They were my parents and yet, when things went bad, they didn't hesitate to abandon me, their own son. The only support I had was from Vanguard and..." 'Kai' said as he glanced to the curtains
" I see. Thank you for telling us that story. It must've been uncomfortable and tough to say all of that again."
'Kai' nodded as he looked out of the window while the two waited for him to talk again.
" By the way, what is that black ring outside the school?"
" ... It's a Gate. It's what's allowing Link Joker units to invade Earth, at least, not until the condition for the Gate to be opened has been fulfilled. It hasn't opened yet, so it's a good thing. But, if we don't defeat the source soon, the Earth will eventually be engulfed in darkness once the amount of Reversed fighters have increased enough."
" Reversed... fighters...? Is that the same concept as a PSYqualia Zombie?"
" What? PSYqualia Zombie?"
" Link Joker invaded our Earth once. And the source of everything was by someone called the Destiny Conductor, who hosted the body of Takuto Tatsunagi. The fighters who loses to a Zombie becomes infected and obtain PSYqualia through them. Because of that power, you're compelled to fight other fighters and spread the power. If you defeat the source of the Zombies, everyone will be free. Aichi... I mean, my world's Aichi, became indirectly connected to Takuto Tatsunagi when he was still the Concert Master and because of that, just like the Ultra Rare girls, he became a Zombie almost immediately. Even I couldn't defeat him... It took the others quite awhile to get the both of us back to normal. Once Aichi was free from the control, I was free automatically. It was like a tree of sorts. If you take out the tree, you take out the branches. That was the concept of the PSYqualia Zombies."
" Obtaining Psyqualia when one loses... That's too dangerous. Psyqualia is a power that connects chosen fighters to the units on Cray. But to force a connection like that..."
" That's right. By doing that, the fate of Cray had laid in our hands. Before Cray could lose and collapse, we hurriedly defeated Destiny Conductor and freed everyone. But the. cost of that... I wonder if it's the same here..."
" What's the same?"
The two waited in silence as 'Kai' continued to think about something while closing his eyes before he slowly opened them again.
" It's... nothing. Anyway, you guys just need to defeat the source here. It's a controlled Takuto Tatsunagi, I presume."
" ... Yes. And though the concept is a little similar, there's something different about this phenomenon. Fighters who lose to Reversed fighters become Reversed themselves and they will grow stronger exponentially. Those fighters must be defeated one by one to be freed from its control and those who are Reversed fall under Void's control. Void... I haven't heard that name since the Asia Circuit. It's a nihilistic power and has immeasurable power, existing only as a will. Link Joker is its fighting force right now, so that it can take control over both Earth and Cray."
" Assuming it knows your origin..."
" It does know. Takuto-kun knew of my origin so I'm sure Void knows it too now."
" ... You'll be targeted."
" I already am. That's where Ginta-kun's illegitimate father came in. He accepted Link Joker's power to take me back with him."
" But I'm sure Link Joker has more in their mind than just letting him do whatever he wants with you. He's being fooled."
" Yes, I know. But nothing changes and it's not going to. We will defeat them and the world will go back to normal."
A moment of silence fell between them again as 'Kai' glanced towards the curtain again and turned back to them.
" ... I haven't repaid my debt to you for saving Aichi. So I'll help. The only other person that can fight on better grounds is me and you right now. My Aichi is still recovering, Nerva barely has any fighting knowledge and this world's Kai still can't fight. If that Gate opens or even that past 'Goddess' comes, we are the only ones who can hold the fort. Link Joker still doesn't know that we're here too."
" Well, you might be right. But there are still two more people in this school that can fight and are stronger, who have also lived thousands and thousands of years. My Goddess older sister, Elizabeth, and her fiancee, the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins, Meliodas. Those two have better fighting chances against my past 'fiancee'. What we need to concentrate on right now is how we can counterattack. This school has turned into our base, so we can hide and plan the counterattack while we're at it."
'Kai' nodded. In an instant, Aichi saw a faint glow in his eyes as he looked at the curtain and a cloud immediately opened the curtain to reveal 'Aichi', who had sat up on the bed.
" Thank you, Kai-kun." Aichi said
" Y-Yeah..."
" This Kai-kun... Could it be that he has..." Aichi thought
" I heard everything too. Once I can move properly, I can also start fighting."
" You shouldn't. You barely recovered from having your bones and nerves shattered. Even if I healed you, resting is important too."
" I know. If I am allowed to, I would just defend this school. It seems like the enemies would come over anyway. It's best to get as much help as possible." Aichi said
" How do you know?" Nerva ask
" He's a Shaman. He sees the future from time to time, sometimes even in his sleep."
" Though I can't control when I see them. But when I do see them, they usually are dangerous ones."
" ... What did you see?"
" The Gate will open and when it does, we're not just going to be facing that army, but also that entity Void itself and the fallen 'Goddess'."
" I see. You saw that far into the future, huh? Okay then. We'll have to start planning sooner than we think. Nerva-kun. Please call everyone into that mass hall you made. They need to know this too. Meanwhile, I'll call Kai-kun up."
Nerva nodded and got up to exit the room to call the others as Aichi stood up to wake Kai up.
" Feeling better? Can you stand?"
" Yeah..."
As Aichi helped Kai to get up, the other 'Kai' also stood up and looked at him.
" ... I'm sorry. You didn't need to know all of what I said. It affected you really badly, didn't it?"
" It's fine. I did my own thinking while I was asleep. I... I'm going to believe in my parents in this world until the end. Because all they left for me were good memories."
" I see. That's a relief."
Both Aichis smiled at the scene as 'Kai' found a wheelchair and carried Aichi onto it while Kai carried Ginta off the bed.
" Lead the way."
" Okay." Aichi said when he saw 'Kai' and 'Aichi' putting their hoods on again, " You could just leave that off."
" The others might faint if they see us."
" Well, I guess you're right. They need to take it slow, I guess. You guys will have to remove that eventually once we need to introduce you two. Let's go."
Aichi led them around the complicated and twisted hallways as they finally arrived in front of a giant door. He slowly pushed opened the door as the others were already waiting inside when Nerva gathered them.
" Oh, Aichi! Took ya long enough!"
" Sorry for wait. Oh! Looks like you two recovered, Miwa-kun, Kamui-kun."
" Yes! I'm ready to fight again anytime!" Kamui said
" Me too!"
" Who are those two?" Misaki ask
" Oh, they're new friends. They had came to me for help and they wanted to help us in return."
" I see."
" I didn't like owing people."
'Aichi' tugged his sleeve immediately as 'Kai' quickly covered his mouth after belatedly realising that he had voiced out his own thoughts.
" Huh...? That voice..."
" What's the use of hiding yourselves if you are just going to talk? Just take off that silly hood already."
The two nodded and removed their hoods as the others froze for a few moments.
" I don't need to introduce you guys since they know your names. They came from another world. With them, the number of our combatants have increased. Besides, the reason I had asked everyone to gather here is because they also had a message to tell us. The Link Joker army, along with Frederick-san, will attack this place soon. As you can all see, we have many non-combatants who can only fight Reversed fighters. Having them join us at this critical timing is a good thing."
As soon as he finished his sentence, Meliodas came dashing towards them as 'Kai' unsheathed a sword and blocked the dagger coming towards 'Aichi' and parried Meliodas away.
" Hey! What are you doing?!"
A dark shadow hovered over them as they looked up to see a black cloud above them. In an instant, thunder crashed towards Meliodas and there was a small explosion.
" Again with the cloud manipulation...!" Aichi thought
" H-Hey, Kai-kun!"
'Kai's eyes widened a little after realising that he had released his power because of anger and stopped the cloud.
" I-Is that boy okay?!"
" D-Don't worry about him."
The smoke dissipated as Meliodas came out unharmed and chuckled.
" That was good reflexes!"
" Meliodas! That was rude to our guests!"
" I just wanted to try some harmless action."
" And you got the floor destroyed!" Nerva exclaimed
" Sorry..."
" Meliodas! Don't do that again!" Elizabeth exclaimed
" Don't worry, Elizabeth. I just wanted to gauge how strong those guys were." Meliodas said
" If you want to fight, then fight somewhere where no one will be harmed!"
" ... That was a thundercloud indoors..." Kamui exclaimed
" Y-Yeah..."
" Kai-kun, too! You traumatized the others! Hurry up and apologize!"
" S-Sorry...!"
" I'm sorry, everyone! He just did in a spur of anger! N-Nerva-san! I'll fix the floor for you!"
Aichi saw him lighting up an orange flame on a ring that he never noticed before on his finger and injected it into a box. The box opened and a golden sword came out of it. Flowers scattered from the blade as it left the hilt empty of its blade. The flowers immediately gathered around the damaged floor and fixed it up before returning to the box while Nerva inspected the floor.
" That flame... It wasn't the red one but the properties from it seems to be almost the same. And plus, that sword... How does it come out of a tiny box like that?" Aichi thought
" ... It's good as new."
" I-Is everyone alright now?"
There were a few moments of silence as they nervously waited.
" ... That was awesome!" Naoki exclaimed
" Do that again!" Ren exclaimed as his eyes sparkled
" No thanks! The floor has gone through enough!"
" Looks like our worries were for nothing..."
" What a relief..."
" ... Thank goodness Ginta didn't wake up..." Kai muttered after checking on him
" Y-Yeah..."
" Everyone seems to be more pumped now."
" Yeah."
" They really are the same."
" Alright, everyone! Let's gather again!"
The others gathered up again as Aichi nodded.
" Well then, now that the introductions are over, we need a counterattack plan. Meliodas and Onee-sama, could I leave Frederick-san to the both of you? I believe that you two would have better chances of beating him in his current state. The rest of us can hold up the Link Joker units and maybe even Void, if needed."
" Leave him to us." Elizabeth assured
" Yeah. Meanwhile, the Reversed fighters will be handled by everyone else here. We need to get as many fighters back to normal as possible."
" Yeah!"
" They'll definitely come from the Gate above the school and from the front gate. While some of us fight on the frontlines, my world's Aichi will keep watch over everyone from the rooftop."
" I can still fight from a distance too, so it's not a problem if I still can't move my legs for awhile."
" Then it's settled. This will be our plan once the attack arrives. Is everyone ready?"
" Yeah!"
" We'll definitely save this world, no matter what."
Aichi soon noticed their doppelgangers' eyes glowing a little before they turned to the door simultaneously.
" Looks like a friend is here."
" Huh?"
The doors opened as Leon and the twins stepped into the hall.
" Leon-kun!"
" How did you guys navigate in the school?" Nerva ask
" We followed Sendou's Psyqualia trace, or at least I used my Psyqualia to. This school suddenly became bigger all of a sudden."
" Oh, yeah... We remade it into a base and to hide ourselves from Link Joker for awhile."
" And... I knew it. I picked up on two new Psyqualia traces. I didn't think you'd have the power that you once hated the most, 'Kai'." Leon said as he looked over at 'Kai', " I know that you're not from here either since you carry a different wind than the Kai here."
" Oh..."
" Well then, let's get to the serious business."
