Here we are in the newest episode of the Infinity Legion.
Now. First things first, I would like to say that I edited some things in it to fit with my recent choice to change the original concept of the Danny Phantom aspect of this massive crossover to not borrow elements from Aaron12's stories, that being chapter 3: Phantom Busters, I edited it not too long ago. When I made the first Infinity Legion story, it was when I was first starting out as a fanfic writer and well, at the time, I was still trying find my footing in the whole thing and as I went along, I learned that some originality doesn't hurt. If you're curious, you can check it out, no big changes, just edited the stuff about Sam having ghost powers while fixing mistakes and adding stuff. Though for those who wonder how certain parts came to be such as Dani living with the Fentons, well that among other things can be explained in the prequel stories.
I've made changes not just in this story but in Infinity Legion: Heroes Unite as well to make things more coherent. Might need to make more.
Until then, let's focus on the newest chapter, this being a Kim Possible-based episode, one that I've been looking forward to watching since Kim Possible is one of the shows in this crossover that grew up watching.
I've actually been re-watching all the series that ended to get a feel on how write content based on them and also to enjoy the nostalgia while also thinking of things that would've occurred in a potential revival season. For Kim Possible, I watched from beginning to end to plan out how things would go after the series finale.
A way of continuing the story for some.

Go City
Superheroes were a common anomaly in the world.
Have been for quite a while now.
Until the formation of the Infinity Legion, they mostly kept to their own home cities and towns, seeing as they were more used to their own neck of the woods and were more well known in those parts, too. In one such city was Go City, a bustling metropolis located near the tri-city area that was home to its own assortments of costumed individuals of both the good and bad variety with periodical fights that make the 6'o clock news, it's superheroes were known as Team Go. A team of siblings that stood to protect their city from any and all danger after receiving extraordinary abilities in the past and did so for a long while. Until one of their own made the decision to leave and with her departure, Team Go couldn't keep it together and they inevitably broke apart, preferring to go it alone.
That is until a family emergency forced them all to come together once more to save each other and in the end, to give them team thing another go if only to make sure Go City would never be left defenseless once again with its heroes depowered. That, and to make sure not to be turned over to do evil bidding by one of their past enemies.
Go Tower was their main base of operations.
Being shaped exactly the word GO, it was not a landmark that could be easily missed, seeing as it was located on a remote island directly next to GO City itself. Admittedly, though, it was impressive that the team that lived her managed to make it into a functional headquarters despite its rather unorthodox design that made it look like a tourist attraction. It showed a true testament to their ability to be the stalwart protectors of their beloved city as they did many times in the past.
At least during their good days.
Nobody was perfect and Team Go was hardly what one would call a well-oiled machine, but when they're really driven, they can pull it together enough to get the job done.
When they finally quit it with their arguing.
Speaking of Team Go, they were in their headquarters at this very moment at their meeting chamber where they would discuss important matters relating to their functioning as a team/
"And so, with that state of business out of the way, I'd like to discuss a new present matter that desperately requires the attention of Team Go." These words spoken by the team leader, Hego, an imposing muscular man with blue hair, he wore a mask covering his eyes and a black and blue asymmetrical harlequin-dazzle pattern, with one glove and one boot of each color. He stood up from a blue seat surrounding a table where the other members of the team were assembled, each wearing similar clothing, but with their own individual color. Sitting next to him on a purple chair was Mego, a slim tall young man with a purplish pigment on his skin, and dark purple hair tied into a ponytail mullet. Sitting on their red chairs were the Wego Twins, the youngest of the siblings with short red hair.
"Say no more, Hego. I'm way ahead of you." Mego says, standing up to cut his older brother off. "Now, I don't wish to alarm anyone, but last month, sales on the Mego action figures actually plummeted, people! Kids and men who live in their parents' basements used to line up to collect them and now sales are barely making a penny!" the shrinking superhero exclaimed, disgusted.
"Didn't those toys-" Wego-1 started.
"-get discontinued for choking hazards?" Wego-2 finishes for his twin brother.
"Alleged choking hazards!" Mego pointed at them. "The ones you're talking about were the ones that were on sale before the team split up."
Hego runs a hand through his blue hair that takes that color when he's in uniform. "Mego. I keep telling you time and time again, matters relating to our merchandising initiative do not qualify as a team emergency."
"I'm sorry, but am I not part of this team?" Mego asks in a haughty manner that was all too familiar to Team Go.
"Yes, but-"
"Then everything relating to me is can be automatically be seen as a team emergency when the situation calls for it, which includes merchandise which affect everything else, but more importantly, me."
"And while I hear and understand your...grievance, that isn't the present matter at hand." Hego picked up a folder from the table, clears his throat, and reads what was inside. "The mayor came forward to me last week and said that public opinion on Team Go hasn't been as steady as it used to be. We can thank Electronique brainwashing us to be her evil hench-people for that. Apparently, we've been characterized as being inept since our reunion and before that, even worse so. We need to convince the people of our fair city that were still as competent as we were when we..." Hego shifts uneasily. "...still had Shego on the team."
"Yeah..." Wego-1 agreed with a somber look to the empty green chair.
"...True that." Wego-2 patted his twin's shoulder.
Mego just crosses his arms and avoided contact with the vacant spot where their only sister once filled. "So, Shego helped keep things stay afloat, I can admit to that. But, we've made some headway. Like last week's battle with the Mathter."
The Wego Twins shared a wince as Wego-1 recanted that skirmish that wasn't as great as Mego made it out to be. "Yeah, but that may not be enough. We spent a long while on solo acts before reforming the team. I think we just need to refamiliarize as a team first." Wego-1 suggested, he wishes things were as they were in the pas. But, at the rate they were going, they might as well call it quits all over again and the last thing he wanted was for the family to be divided once more.
"Like Infinity Legion!" Wego-2 supplied.
The mention of that other team made Mego sick to his stomach. "Oh, why did you have to bring up those guys again? Everywhere I look and scroll through, it's the same thing. Infinity Legion this, Infinity Legion that!" the purple shrinker flings his hands left and right to demonstrate. "Hello! Did anyone conveniently forget that we've been operating way before those guys?"
"To be fair, our brief time apart drew away a lot of attention. Also to note is that most of the members of that team previously operated in separate cities, some even from different countries altogether." Hego enlightened. "We only stuck to good old Go City. Other teams, such as the United Heroez are the same way, with them being based in New York. Not to mention some of the unfamiliar faces as well."
"So they have some newcomers and tend to go global. They're mostly just kids, we've been at this gig for way longer."
"Yet, all that experience did nothing temper that attitude of yours."
"Fat load it did to your brain."
"Now, Mego. I like to think we're both mature enough to not get into another petty squabble as if we're still in our turbulent youth."
The Wego twins slumped their shoulders and took advantage of their older brothers' arguing to sneak out of their chairs to take things elsewhere in their home, it's how they've always dealt when things get heated within the team. Since they were kids, Hego and Mego would get into it and as adults, they still bicker like one of them took the last pizza slice before the other could lay claim to it. Both brothers left for the kitchen area which gave them a clear view of Go City and poured themselves some smoothie drinks. "We restarted the team for only a bout a few months and already, things are the way they were after Shego left." Wego-1 grumbles, taking a sip.
"Let's face it, bro. Team Go will never be the same, not without Shego at least. Those two know that our sister was what really made the team work, but are too proud to admit it." Wego-2 pointed to the door leading to the meeting room where Hego and Mego were continuing a brotherly spat and had a thought that seemed a bit too bold for them considering its nature. "Do you think Shego would come back to use if maybe, we asked?"
Wego-1 almost spilled his drink all over the nice clean floors. "We're talking about our sister, right? Even before she went over to the evil side, she barely ever listened when Hego and Mego wanted something from her."
"That was because they always annoyed her. But, what if it were just the two of us? She might give us a chance."
Now that made the other twin stop and think. Shego has always been driven up a wall, trying to handle being the outnumbered sibling in a superpowered family, but Hego's corniness and Mego's self entitled personality were what really sent her over the edge, and yet, when it came to her youngest brothers, Shego would display a more softer side that's rarely ever seen. But, not even that could prevent her from leaving them and standing on the opposing sides, instead of putting bad guys away, she works for those people now. It's a huge longshot to just drop by in Dr. Drakken's lair and ask to see her, but if it were just them and not the other two, then maybe...
Wego-1 stared at his brother and saw a red spot on his cheek. "Hey, was that zit always there?"
"Huh?" Wego-2 questions as he felt for anything, but didn't. He saw a similar red spot on his brother's forehead and multiple more appeared on their uniforms and looked outside and both gasped in alarm.
Back at the meeting table, Hego and Mego were still going at each other.
"For the last time, Mego. We need to be work on our coordination, the team's been out of synch for a long time!"
"Yeah, and whose fault is that?"
"Excuse me?! After Shego left, I did my best to keep things together to the best of my ability! You were the first one to leave!:
"Because, I realized I was wasting my time in an inept team with an inept leader!"
"Brother, I've tolerated this selfishness out of respect of our familial bond. But, I warn you, test me any further and I may just have to take disciplinary action!"
Hego proclaimed this with a poke to his brother's chest. "Can it with the discipline act, Hego!" Mego snapped. "It's not like you're our dad!"
The blue hero's eyes widened after hearing that, not believing Mego would actually go down that road and while that was true, it didn't mean he wasn't about to let it slide. "You're right. I'm not. What I am is team leader and if you really wish for me to respect you, then you'll have to-"
KABOOM!
Both Hego and Mego closed their eyes and crouched down when a loud explosion was heard coming from the kitchen, the oldest brother instinctively brought his body to cover Mego's as the noise died down. "What in blazes was that?!"
"The sound of our remodeled kitchen being blown to pieces you big dolt!" Mego and Hego ran as they now realized that the twins weren't at the table anymore and surmised that they must have left for the kitchen. They found Wego having duplicated many clones fighting off uniformed men with the Greek letters, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma who were being accompanied by robot drones with the same symbols, armed with electrified batons to attack the armies of duplicates created from the twins' red glowing power. "Who the heck are these clowns?! They don't look anything like the henchmen our usual enemies have!"
"Agent Alpha, it's other two!" One of the leaders points.
"Beta, Gamma, you make sure those two don't interfere. They're not important."
"Not important? You, I can understand, but me?!"
"Mego, this is not the time!"
Beta bots marched in an ordered fashion and picked Hego as their target, he summoned forth his glowing blue aura that activated the super strength that acted as his superpower, with simple pushes and punches to the robots. He grabbed hold of three of them to throw them out the windows of Go Tower and all the way across the ocean surrounding Go City. Hego didn't know what these people were doing here, but all he did know was that picking a fight with Team Go is just begging for trouble, and he's ready to give it. Same can even be said for even Mego, many would claim that his glowing purple power to shrink himself to any small size to be the most useless superpower to ever have, but he's had enough practice to actually make it a practical ability to have, as demonstrated when a baton hits empty air when he shrunk a few inches before going to the size of a rat and jumping and running along the robot's arm and regrew to uppercut the robot's chin.
"See? I keep telling you that shrinking can have it's advantages." Mego bragged.
"Not the time, brother!" Hego snaps, throwing more away and calls for his youngest siblings. "Wego, where did they come from?!"
One clone was thrown against the fridge. "They just ambushed us in the kitchen!"
Another tried pulling a feet off his chest. "Only three of them are human! Everything else are just stupid robots!"
The robots were the expandable troops of this surprise attack and were most likely following the orders by the three men that were leading this attack. "Alright, we should regroup and attack as one. As team leader, I shall push forward to incapacitate the heads in charge while I leave fighting off the robots in your hands!"
"There you go again with the power tripping!" Mego shrunk down and climbed into an open space of a robot's arm and fiddled with the wires to make it malfunction, he escaped before he almost got crushed when it broke down. "You don't always have to be the big hero! You always seem to forget there are more capable people around!"
Agents Beta and Gamma nodded to each other, choosing to surprise the two superheroes while they were arguing with each other and not focusing on the battle at hand. Beta puts a metal disk on his back that branched out into an exoskeleton that connected with his joints and body parts, Beta shocked Hego when he grabbed him by the ram and flings him to the floor and then spun him around before just throwing him into a wall, creating cracks, showing the effectiveness of strength enhancing technology. Gamma flipped a switch on his goggles and they zoomed in on the purple energy signature of Mego even when he's in his small form. With good reflexes, a hand grasped Mego, he shrunk some more to escape but was swatted away like a bug as the size shifter grew back to normal size, very winded.
Just as their leader told them.
These upgrades made short work of most of Team Go.
But, now, it was time to procure their main objectives.
Agent Alpha had to distance away at Wego clones, because he knew that none of them were the original. The main difference between the original twins and the clones was that none of them were emitting a high concentration of the red glow energy. But with his own goggles, he could tell which were the original Wego twins among the armies of clones and upon finding them, raced through the hordes with two taser batons and when shocked both Wego-1 and Wego-2 to the point where they fell unconscious and were carried by Agent Alpha. "Targets are secure! I repeat! Targets are secure! Withdraw, now!"
The other lead agents pressed buttons on their glove gauntlets to activate a self destruct function built into all the robots as there was no need for them any more, they had served their purpose.
Hego and Mego slowly recovered and saw the wrecked robots and their younger brothers being hauled away as the three main agents jumped out of the hole they made and into the helicopter with the acronym of W.E.E etched on it. "No..." The blue leader of Team Go breathed in horror as the copter disappeared from view.
Inside, the Wego twins' slumbering forms laid on the seats as Agent Alpha turns to the pilot. "Send word to HQ! Targets are secure!"
Undisclosed Location
For the most important work to be done, it must be done in secret.
Away from the prying eyes of interlopers or annoying younger twin sisters who leads a worldwide peacekeeping organization that works to put people like him in a deep hole for all time.
But that's besides the point, the point is that anonymity can be one of the greatest strengths there ever was, it is what allowed him to move forward with schemes and plans that would win over the whole world. These were the thoughts of Gemini, a brown haired man with copper highlights, and a classic movie villain goatee, fit with the eyepatch, prosthetic metal hand, and a purple and white jumpsuit. The guy even had his own pet animal to caress when discussing his nefarious schemes. And the cherry on top, a hidden lair at a site no one else knows about where it housed all his henchmen and technology, he sat on his chair as he views a screen of a returning helicopter.
"Look, Pepe." He cooed at the chihuahua as the copter lands down. "Let us welcome our new house guests."
Pressing a button, the main entrance to his lair was opened and three Agents walked in while pushing in the twins who were both wearing metal colors around their neck that blinked green and cuffs that did the same.
Wego-1 struggled to break free by using his powers, but couldn't activate. "Can't break free!"
"What happened to our powers?! Who are you guys?!" Wego-2 asked, hoping for any of the other men for answers, who were similar uniforms to the three men who kidnapped them from their family.
Alpha, Beta, and Gamma saluted at their leader. "Sir, operation went successful with little to no trouble." Alpha reported.
"I can see that, Agent Alpha." Gemini snickered in satisfaction. "For your first mission, this is quite promising. You are much more competent than your predecessor. I trust the drones served their purpose well?"
"That they did, sir. As per your instructions, once acquisitioning the targets, we made the drone self destruct and with them, every bit of data within them. That way, the enemy won't be able to collect anything from them, only broken parts and wires."
"Excellent. Simply excellent." Gemini was most pleased, this means his enemies won't discover his plans and he was free to continue onwards without interruptions, then looks at the restrained twins with feigned expression of hospitality. "Welcome, Wego of Team Go. I am called Gemini, and you are standing in the main operations of W.E.E!" he spreads his arms wide.
The Wego twins stared in confusion. "W.E.E?" Wego-1 asked.
"Indeed!"
"What? Is that like, an acronym or something?" Wego-2 also asked.
"That it is, young man. For it stands for the Worldwide Evil Empire!" Gemini declares once more with just as much vigor.
Both twins remained in a beat silent and that was broken by Wego-1.
"Seems a bit too obvious."
"He's open about it. That's something, I guess."
Gemini's singular eye twitched. "I did not bring you here for your critique!" He roared. "You stand before me today, because you two are the key to securing my undisputed claim as the most dominant force on this planet!" he raised his metal hand and clenched it closed.
Wego-1 laughs his scheme off. "You think we're going to just help you? Ha! We're superheroes, pal! We put away guys like everyday!"
"Just wait until our brothers get here!" Wego-2 warns.
"I'm afraid by the the time anyone outside of my organization arrives, none could be done to stop me." Gemini motions his minions to pull the two captive brothers along to follow the madman to a hidden room behind closed metal doors. "Much less two idiotic excuses of superheroes. No, the real threat would be the forces of Global Justice!" His pet barked rapidly, exhibiting anger at the mention of the name which Gemini swiftly apologized for. "Oh! I am so sorry, Pepe! Daddy will put a quarter in the jar for that! Shh, be calm now."
"Global Justice?" Both Wegos question, making the dog bark again.
"Excuse me!" Gemini glared. "I'd appreciate it if you'd watch your tongue in front of my precious little one!" Calming down his dog, Gemini motions for Agent Alpha to open the metal doors and looked one last time to look at the twins. "Don't worry. I assure you that the accommodations are so great, you'll never want to leave!" He ends this with a hearty evil laugh that echoes throughout his lair, and then, another one of his agents came by, accompanied by a professional groomer.
"Sir, the pet groomer's here."
Gemini clapped his hands. "Goodie! Somebody's gonna become handsome little doggy!" he rubbed his nose against Pepe's. "Wanna guess who? It's you, Pepe! Yes you are!"
"I don't if I should be feel afraid or creeped out." Wego-1 said, unnerved by Gemini's erratic behavior.
They didn't know what they were in for behind those doors.
But what they did know was that it wasn't going to be pretty.
(Intro Sequence)
Infinity Legion Tower
Training Room
Kim Possible was the girl that could do anything.
Saying that out loud, it really does sound pretty egotistical. But, when one considers her impressive track record, it wasn't hard to believe that she was a strong young woman capable of doing many impressive feats. All her exploits of foiling the plots of many supervillains didn't make her the bragging type, thankfully, but it did make her want to at least live up the the stories about her, leading her to make a lot of daily exercises to train her body to peak condition, it's what kept her going as both a teen crimefighter and a cheerleader. After graduating high school, and getting entangled in an alien invasion at the same time, Kim needed a new way besides cheer practice to keep herself in tip top shape, and now, she was thankful that the new superhero team she's joined includes a state of the art training room.
She had set the room's settings to be an obstacle course with a series of traps and roadblocks that required her to do some quick thinking if she wanted to get through it all.
A timer was set, and in 3...

...1...
GO!
Kim starts by sprinting into a run. A ramp sprung up making her somersault over it and grabbed two rings hung by metal wires and swung through a hope that was lit on fire. Landing on her hands, she bent backwards to resume her run then saw two moving mechanisms that shot out sideways, making her jump ahead and pass through the empty middle space between them.
Then came the automated laser turrets that she evaded by doing many flips as the lasers followed her movement and that led to them shooting each other in the process. All in all, it was a fairly easy course, but she wasn't looking for anything easy, she wanted a challenge and that's exactly what this obstacle course was going to provide.
Computer generated enemies were a personal favorite for the members who loved a good brawl every now and then, they can set them to any danger level and since they were essentially holograms, they didn't need to worry about holding back. Enemies were materialized in front of her and they resembled armored man with electrified staffs.
In the middle of her run, she grabs the end of one staff to spin around and did a double kick to the other assailant before robbing the other of his weapon and hits him with both ends of the staff, breaking him into pixels and plunges it into the chest the one on the ground, resulting in the same thing. Three more appeared and began attacking her, but she dodged every blow and found the right time to make her own perfectly timed strikes, finding openings to attack. If she had to admit anything, fighting fake enemies was more fun than fighting real life enemies.
Of course, that didn't mean she didn't feel good when fighting real ones either.
With the fake enemies taken care of, Kim saw that she still had time to make it through one final obstacle, a laser grid, made to resemble the very same one on her very first mission all those years ago. This wasn't the first time she repeated it either, and just like before, she executed with impressive acrobatics and agility that earned her much praise.
And she finished the course.
"How was that?" Kim asked up to the observers of her little demonstration.
"Pretty great, Kim." Danny's voice responded as he and others were in the observation deck with others to act as an audience for her and to give some honest feedback on her performance. .
Then, she could hear her boyfriend. "I'm sorry. Pretty great? Danny, don't mean to disrespect you, leader man. But, that was not just pretty great. That was amazing! Come one, people! Let's give credit where it's due, huh?" the affirmative chirping from Rufus was followed.
"Oh, yeah!"
"We get it, Ron. Your girlfriend's a kickbutt chick." Penn's chuckling replied. "You're not really alone on that front."
"Flatterer." Sashi slyly said, pecking him on the cheek.
"Not bad." Lance adds, voice hollow.
"That all you gotta say, Lance?!"
"What? I said 'not bad', Ron."
Kim ran up the platform to meet with them. "It's okay, Ron. Not expecting a medal here." She accepted a towel offered by Jack to dry off the sweat that poured down due to the extent of her run. "So not a big deal."
"Modesty is a very defining attribute, Kim." Jack acknowledged. "But, it is not dishonesty when we say that you display impressive skill and discipline. You must train your body daily."
"Jack's right, Kim. You were simply amazing." Ilana also praised. "Of course, can't say I should be that surprised. Your acrobatics must have come from your time as a cheerleader."
Kim shrugs. "Fighting minions, monkey ninjas, and cheering for the home team works up a sweat."
The Galalunan princess rubbed her arm as a certain unenjoyable memory came to mind. "I once tried cheerleading myself, but it didn't really work out." It was a nice attempt to be more inclusive in school, if only there were less mean girls involved.
"Let me guess. You were supposedly not good enough, Ilana?" Kim said in understanding. "Shows what they know. You're good enough for this squad." she smiled which Ilana returned.
Sashi snorts considerably. "You ask me, you lucked out, princess. Why even bother wanting to be dancing cattle in front of the entire school when meatheads tackle each other?" Ben, who was next to her with a smoothie, nudged her. "What? Oh, um, no offense." That was directed to Kim and Ron as one was a cheerleader and the other was a football player in his senior year of high school.
"Really need your tact, Sashi." Ben remarked.
"Main point is, you once again reminded us you got skill, Kim." Zak said, sitting on the desk where the computer was. "You also broke your earlier record. You should spar with my mom sometime. She'd love the challenge."
"I'll keep that in mind, Zak." Kim walked to the exit, but remembered once crucial thing to tell the leader. "Oh, and Danny. In the meeting room, I went ahead and sent all the updates you wanted to Solomon to get on our progress."
"You did?" Danny asked in surprise. He was putting that off for a bit to try and get some personal calls in with Sam that ended on poor notes, so he tried again and again to salvage things a little and he almost forgot about the other thing. "Wow. Thanks, Kim. But, you really didn't have to, though. I could've used a clone to do it for me."
"No big. Figured I'd have to pull my weight around besides fighting." She said, running out.
"Someone's pushing to make second-in-command." Ben said, still drinking his smoothie.
"I think she's just trying to show a positive morale for the rest of the team." Penn argued. "And it is working."
Ron would agree, just as he would think there was nothing wrong with her going through that obstacle course. But something about her doing such excessive work that while necessary, it seemed a bit too much. Now, he wasn't that much of a big thinker, his early grades in Middleton High can show that, but in matters of the heart, he's learned to have good instincts in that certain area. Even before they started dating, Ron had this sinking feeling that something was up, even if it would take a long while for that to happen. He wasn't the only one, Rufus too was also weary and the one thing you should never doubt was the intuition of a naked mole rat.
Kim settled into college life relatively okay, the one thing that she didn't do was move into the dorms, the thought of not sharing a home space with two very obnoxious tweebs was a personal dream of hers, but it was one of those big changes she really needed to think about. Besides, she finds it more comfortable doing her non-work/college hours from the sanctity of her own home. Finding a home away from home in the Infinity Legion Tower taught that maybe she's better off not going to the dorms, as having part-time housemates has so far been teaching her that fighting bad guys and an invasion doesn't mean all can be well and dandy all the time.
"I'll ask again. Did you or did you not use my toothbrush?" Marco asked, pensively.
He was explicitly asking Boone who was sitting comfortably on the couch with Randy, Max, Steel, and Manny and were previously watching television, until Marco came storming with an outraged look on his face. "Was yours the one colored red?"
"Yes!"
Boone taps chin and made a sound of realization. "Ah. I thought yours was the yellow one. Pretty sure that was Jake's. Or was it Ilana's? Maybe Ashi's or Rex's? I couldn't really tell, Marco."
"Which is why I labeled them!" Marco shouts. "In this big tower, there is only one bathroom."
Randy groaned. "Don't remind us. You'd think they'd install private bathrooms."
"Salty that Rex called wiz dibs, Randy?" Manny cracked.
"Can we please think of a better name for that?" Marco begged. "I can't be the only one who feels grossed out when someone says that first thing in the morning. Wait, no, stop digressing, guys! I put the labels on all the toothbrush for a reason! To prevent this kind of thing!"
"Woah there, guys." Kim interjected quickly. "Mind dishing what the drama is?"
Zak, who was at the kitchen table eating a fresh batch of food with the others provided by Octus and Ashi answers her question. "Boone used Marco's toothbrush by mistake."
"But, Boone's not sure if it was really Marco's toothbrush he borrowed." Rex adds with a chuckle. "Not the first time, though. Right, Ladybug?"
Marinette momentarily gags. "Please don't remind me, Rex."
"Marco, maybe chill out a bit." Steel tells him with a servo on the red hooded boy's shoulder. "While what Boone did was incredibly unsanitary, no need crying over spilled milk."
"We're not talking about milk, Steel. We're talking about some other person using my tooth brush!" Marco then pointed to him. "You don't even have teeth, anyway!"
"No, but I do like a good scrub down."
"Steel, TMI." Adrien said. "I don't even wanna know if it's Max who does it."
Max quickly made sure not to be remembered as the guy who bathes his robot best friend. "It is not me, Cat."
Arguments like these came as no surprise to Kim, there are a lot of differences between the team members and it was only natural for those differences to cause some raising of the voices, no matter how big or small. Dormmates were one thing, but she shares space with fellow adventurous teenagers, some with superhuman abilities and that alone is enough of a hassle. "Okay, you two, that's enough. It's not that hard to respect the rules of this tower, Boone and Marco, freaking out about it won't help things."
Breathing deeply, Marco slumped down on a seat next to Star who patted his back while Boone just returned to watching TV.
Ron then came running in a massive panic. "KP! KP! KP! KP! KP!" he rushed to his girlfriend, flailing his arms frantically along with Rufus perched on his owner's shoulders. "We gotta head back to Middleton, pronto!"
"Why?" Kim placed her hands on her boyfriend's shoulders. "Did Wade call? Is there a sitch?"
"No!" Ron shook his head and pulled out his phone to show her the time. "It's almost time for afternoon classes!" he tells her with a crazed look. "We gotta turn in our term papers!"
"Ah, shoot! That's right!" Kim slapped her forehead for forgetting such an important thing. She never loses track of matters relating to school, then again, she does live part time in another dimension. Still, to her, that's not an excuse, it probably won't be good enough for her professors either, so she better hightail out of there soon. "Alright, don't panic. We still got 10 minutes or so."
"Ten minutes and fifty-nine seconds." Ron clarified. "Fifty-eight...fifty-seven...fifty-six...fifty-five..."
"Not helping, baby." Kim and Ron picked up all their stuff for college and looked at the their friends. "Cool with telling Danny and the rest that we won't be around?"
"Sure thing, Kim." Randy said. "While we're at it, want us to save you some of Octus' stew?"
"Please and thank you."
She and Ron ran out to the exit to get the Sloth and open up a dimensional portal leading straight to their hometown. "College." Randy says with a thoughtful look. "You ask me, high school's enough trouble."
"College?" Ashi inquired, not familiar with the concept.
"An institution of higher learning that typically comes when one completes four years of high school. While optional, it is highly recommended for one to complete the process of becoming a productive member of society." Octus tells her. "While both are different, it is not uncommon for both to invoke some stress and penchant for being punctual on students."
"Good thing we never worry about either." Rex smirks while looking to Kur's reincarnation. "Right, Zak?"
"My parents never really saw the point of school." Zak recalled. "They had enough info to fill over a hundred textbooks."
"You never felt lonely, Zak?" Adrien asked. From the sound of it, it eerily reminded the young blonde of how his father raised him ever since his mother's...absence.
"Not when you have adopted Cryptid siblings. And they never said I couldn't say hi to some townsfolk."
Adrien hummed, looking away so no one could see his downcast expression or hear him except for his Kwami. "At least someone gets that treatment." However, someone did hear him, that being his own partner and though Marinette didn't know who it was underneath that disguise, that comment made her remember something. But she almost completely forgot about pushing the subject further when she and the others got a message from their portal devices and were then joined by Danny and the rest.
"At risk of sounding weird, I'll just go ahead and ask." Jenny asked. "Did anyone else get a message from a woman with Kim's last name?"
University Of Middleton
Attending the same college together was a big decision for Kim and Ron, from preschool to high school, they always faced school challenges together. Similar to Kim, Ron himself didn't move into the dorms as well. To him, he wanted to spend more time looking after Hana when his folks are unavailable and it isn't really that long a drive from here to home. With a fast ride like the ironically named Sloth, it might as well take mere minutes to get there on time, but then there's the whole traversing through different dimensions thing.
Really weird way to travel nowadays, but their lives tend to be anything but normal anyway.
"That was way too close for comfort." Ron sighed as he and his girlfriend walked through campus. "Know what I like about college?"
"Besides the bueno nacho shop in the campus and no one here remembering you from high school?" Kim coyly ask.
"Those are what I call side benefits to the fabulous college life of Ronald Stoppable." He bowed dramatically, making his girlfriend giggle. "But real talk, KP, it's that the teachers here give shorter deadlines compared to he-who-shall-not-be-named."
"You mean Mr. Barkin?" His finger was pressed to her lips.
"Hup! Do not speak his name! Back to the main subject, longer timetable, more time for this monkey kung fu master has to help save the day with his best girl and not forget to do his assignments."
"I'll admit. Not having to remind you every minute is a nice change of pace." Kim admitted, then squeezed his hand. "Nice to know my guy's growing up."
Ron dusted off imaginary debris. "This ain't no high school boy you're dating, Kim. You're looking at a bonafide college man." Not that Kim's not proud of Ron taking some actual initiative in his academics, seeing as he did the exact opposite for most of high school, but with the way he sounds, it looks like he's starting to get a big head. When that happens, he gets in over his big head and lands in trouble, and with his new magical abilities following the Lowardian invasion of Earth, it might just only make it worse.
Even so, it was always cute to see him act this way. "Well, Mr. College Man. What's on the agenda for the rest of the day now that we have free time now? Gotta be some ideas in there."
Ron gave her a cool look and wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her in close. "Oh, I can think of maybe one or two things. Most of them include cozy time with the world's most beautiful redhead with green eyes."
Kim grinned in satisfaction with lidded eyes. "Talk like that will give said redhead ideas, you know."
"What I'm counting on, beautiful."
Both closed their eyes and leaned in for a quick makeout session making Rufus gag humorously and retreat into Ron's pocket as their lips were inches from each other, until the sound of a whistle disrupted their romantic moment.
"Let's try keep it professional!"
That barking voice.
A voice that just oozed off adult authority and command.
Ron froze in horror. "No..."
Before them was Steven Barkin, their former substitute teacher in over many subjects in Middleton High and a common annoyance to Ron and vice versa with him, he appears wearing a security officer's uniform. "Ah. Stoppable. I should've known."
"You...You! What are you doing here?!" Ron hotly asked, then screamed to anyone within earshot. "Someone! Anyone! We have an intruder on the premises! The dean must be notified!"
"Unless you want me to detain for disrupting the peace of this hollowed institution, I advise you to cease and desist your prattle, Stoppable." Mr. Barkin said with a threatening tone.
This may have worked on the scared high schooler who shrunk under his gaze, but Ron and Rufus returned his glare and Ron was half tempted to just go all monkey on him, but Kim reigned her man in. "Not that we're not happy to see you again, Mr. Barkin. Well, can't really speak for both of us. But, why are you here? And why are you wearing the usual security guy's uniform."
Barkin went into a more professional mode. "The previous head of campus security came down with a dire case of food poisoning. I volunteered being the temporary keeper of this university's peace and prosperity until his recovery. My resume was more than enough to convince the Dean's office. Now, shouldn't you two be attending your next classes?"
"Ha! Shows what you know, we just finished our classes, so you can't touch us!" Ron said, triumphantly. "We're home free, sucker!"
"Loser!" Rufus mocked with an L on his forehead.
"Which means we need to do a quick stop back home. Later!"
"Mark my words, Stoppable! This may not be Middleton High, but I won't let any place of learning be besmirched by the likes of you!"
"Ugh. It is so unfair!" Ron complained on the passenger seat of Kim's car. "Here I was, enjoying the privileges of college, but then the universe went and poured scalding hot Barkin soup all over my lap!" Out of all the things he loved about being a college freshman was that not only did he have a fresh start, but before now, there was a zero percent Barkin presence on campus. No one hounding on him or giving him detention just because he just didn't like him at all, this coupled with the Bueno Nacho store made college life all the more sweeter. But now, his perfect college world is now uprooted by the thorn that is Steven Barkin.
"Ron, try to not lose your cool over this." Kim was never that much of a fan of how intense Barkin either, but tried looking at some bright side. "He'll only stick around until the other guy gets better. It's not like he'll stick around for the rest of college."
"KP! If Ben taught me anything, it's to never tempt fate!" Ron put his hands on his face and stretched it out.
"Ben's not even here." Kim pointed out as the car was nearing her house. "If there's Infinity Legion business going, then we can worry. But, there's not, not even one of our regular emergencies. So, let's keep our heads cool, okay?"
Still in a rut, Ron nonetheless tried to steer his mind away from his current grievances once Kim pulled the car into her house's driveway and got out, before Kim opened the door, her mother greeted from the inside. "Kimmie! Ronald! So glad you could make it!" Dr. Ann Possible said with a bright smile.
"Mom?" Kim questioned as she ushered them inside.
"Woah, Mrs. P. Where's the fire?" Ron asked.
"Sorry, we were all just waiting for you two to get here."
"I appreciate you, dad, and even the tweebs wanting me to be home, but it's not like we were gone for that long."
Ann giggled. "Oh, sweetie. I don't mean just the family. You're friends are here too."
"Like Felix, Zita, and Monique?"
"No, Ronald. I'm talking about your more recent friends."
Kim came to the realization. "Wait. You mean-"
"Hey, Kim, Ron!"
The indistinguishable voice of Manny Rivera greeted as he sat with Kim's younger twin brothers, Jim and Tim Possible and he wasn't alone. Her father, Dr. James Possible was conversing with Zak, Max, Steel, Jenny, and Rex, while the everyone else from the team lounged in her house's living room, making her eyes nearly bug out of her sockets. "Manny? Danny? Jake? Randy? Sashi? Penn? Jack? Max? Zak? Everyone?!" the redhead nearly fainted that so many of her teammates were in her own house and seemed to be socializing with her family. Doesn't sound like a bad thing, it was just something that caught even Kim Possible off guard. "Wha-What are you all doing here?!"
"Your mother invited us, Kim." Jack answered, then bowed respectfully to the woman and her husband. "Of which we are still most thankful for you to open your lovely home to us, Mr. and Mrs. Possible."
"Think nothing of it, Mr. Jack." James Possible replied, standing up to side with his wife as both addressed their only daughter. "Now, Kimmie Cub, I bet your buzzling with some questions."
"Understatement of the hour, dad!" Kim faced her mother. "Mom, how were you able to call them? I only allow one other person to contact our tower and that's..." She put the pieces together. "...Wade!"
"So, I convinced him to send a message on my behalf." Ann admitted, but was prepared to explain her actions. "But, I had my reasons. When you told us about joining a group of other young people who also partake in exploits like you do, your father and I were curious about how your new friends are."
"You're committing yourself to something important here, young lady." James Possible tells her. "We just wanted to get to know them a little, and also make sure most of the boys here are already in a relationship."
"Okay, I here you two and I get it. But, you should've at least run it by me first." Kim huffed. "Really says a lot when my parents make this kind of move behind my back."
"Kimberly Ann Possible." She flinched when her father used her full name. "Don't misunderstand our intentions of being that of mistrust, young lady. You know us better than that, Kimmy Cub."
"Yeah, Kimmy Cub." Rex teased. "Show a little faith."
Danny nudged him, then spoke. "If you want, we could reschedule for another time."
Kim would prefer that, but then saw how much most such as Star who was eating a meal prepped by Ann, her dad went back to talking with the ones with abilities that he was particularly interested in, and finally, looked one last time at her mother who pulled the one card she couldn't resist. The dreaded puppy dog pout. "No, it's fine. I mean, my team is here with my family. What could go wrong?"
"Hey, Manny, check this out." Jim showed a handheld device that displayed a holo-screen. "Tim and I digitally recreated home movies mom and dad kept in the attic."
"You'll love this one." Tim snickered as it showed a younger Kim on a certain Christmas play.
"Oh, no! Tweebs! Don't you dare!"
Middleton Mall
"Closing time, Monique!"
"'Kay! Bye!"
Working at Club Banana may not be as critical as fighting bad guys like her best friend always does, but for Monique, fighting off crazed customers for this month's sale came dangerously close. Now, she can focus on calling up her BFF, see if she's free from her new super squad of superheroes that she's seen on the news. Inside, she knew Kim probably wasn't, but truthfully, she just wanted an excuse to try out her new phone, it was way better than those obsolete flip phone she used to have.
As she walked, she bumped into another mall customer whose face was obscured by a grey hoodie. "Hey! Excuse you!" she snapped, growing even more infuriated as they didn't even apologize. "Rude."
"Hey, Monique."
Felix Renton rolled up in his advanced wheelchair alongside his girlfriend, Zita Flores. "Thought that was you." Zita said.
"Hi, you guys." Even if Kim and Ron weren't available, that didn't mean Monique was completely friendless. "Sorry for the dreary mood. Just got sidelined by that moody...I wanna say, girl?"
The couple looked at the retreating hooded person who momentarily looks back and Felix got a good look at her eyes making his widen in recognition. "Hey, I know who that is, it's-"
Suddenly, Zita flopped to the floor, then so did Monique, and Felix passed out on his own chair.
It wasn't just them.
The hooded stranger also passed out on the floor, as did basically everyone else in the mall, customer and employee alike all lost consciousness simultaneously, food and drinks were spilled, phone conversations were cut off, and all but two black uniformed figures were the only ones standing as they approached the hooded figure. "We found her." One informed into an earpiece.
Monique had enough willpower to struggle to open her eyes and reach for the phone, pressing on an APP with the initials of KP.
It was all that could be done.
"Ladybug, Jenny, Ilana, look at all these clothes!"
The girls, minus Sashi and Ashi were invited to Kim's room and Star marveled at her ensemble which also impressed the other fashionably savvy Legion members. One thing Kim found to really like since forming the team was that were girls who had an appreciation for clothes much like herself, a nice change of pace truth be told. "The colors really do match well." Ilana said, complimenting her tastes.
"Thanks. If you want, I could give you some tips." Kim offered.
"What makes you say that?" Ilana asked, clearly missing the fact that she was currently wearing the outfit that most would consider out of touch with the current year.
Kim rubbed her head. "Well, I mean, no offense, but you sort of dress too..."
"Old school?" Jenny supplied.
"I would've gone with retro." Kim didn't want to hurt the princess's feelings, but at time, she wondered if Ilana looked through a catalogue from the 70's.
"Humans take pride in their clothing." Ilana recalled having this kind of talk with Lance on their first day of high school. "I like to think my clothes speak well for what I represent."
"Everyone has their own style." Tikki said, and floated to her friend. "I'm sure Ladybug here can put together something nice."
"Really? You know how to design, Ladybug?"
Kim's question made Marinette grab her Kwami and hid her in her pocket. "No! I mean, I like to imagine some stuff in my head. But, I don't design things in real life for people, if that's what you're thinking." she nervously chuckled.
"Um. Okay." Jenny raised a brow and they decided to drop the issue.
"I just use my wand to give me any clothing I want from my closet." Star got, in her mind, a great idea. "Ilana, why don't I make one for you?"
Ilana's eyes widen and backs away. "Thank you, no, Star. I'll stick with what I know."
"Your loss." A photograph caught Star's eyes and saw a framed picture of Kim and Ron back in their childhood, back when Kim still had braces. Star internally squealed at how adorable her friends looked and then, she can't help but notice something different. In that photo, both of them were casual, just two friends posing for a picture, then she sees them currently where they're a couple. "Hey, Kim. How long have you and Ron known each other again?"
"We met in preschool." Kim smiled wistfully. "He was the first real friend I ever made and we pretty much became inseparable after that."
"So, you've been friends for that long and you eventually got together? That wasn't hard for you guys?"
"It was complicated, I can tell you that much. I liked other guys before him and he liked other girls, and I won't lie, there might have been something there that neither of us saw at the time. But, when you find that your archenemy actually outsmarted you for once and nearly has you at his mercy, you look back and maybe realize some things." Kim chuckled. "And it only took twelve stinking years for either of us to finally make a move." Including her getting duped by a syntho-drone with him getting jealous. Funny how the world throws a crazy situation like that to make two friends realize and come to terms with their feelings for each other.
Star remembered how Marco knew Jackie for a long time, but from what she's seen, they weren't as close knit ad Ron and Kim, high school was the only time they interacted beyond a simple nod in the hallway. Still, Marco's pined for Jackie in all that time, and Star just bursts into his life at the beginning of the school year and here she was, pining for him. As she hears Kim, Star wonders if maybe all that's needed is a little time, but the questions she asks herself still burns.
Would he even feel the same way?
Romantic turmoil was present in other people, just ask Ladybug. "She makes it sound so easy." Marinette glumly muttered, thoughts going to Adrien and Luka.
Her signature beeping call was heard from her wrist mounted Kimmunicator. "Wade? Is that you?"
"Back from that no technology sabbatical." Boy genius and operator of her website breathed deeply. "Man, do I miss the smell of a computer screen. But, that's not why I'm calling. Kim, I got a hit on the website from the app on Monique's phone."
"App? What app?"
"While you and Ron were away, I've been making some updates on your website. One is designing an app for people who follow you online to alert us on any emergency that goes directly to the site. It's for those new smart phones that have taken most teenagers by storm. I got an alert from Monique's cellphone from Middleton mall. I tried calling her, but she won't pick up."
"Spanking." Kim praised the kid. When one of her friends is involved, that makes it important enough for her and Ron to investigate. "Right. We're on it, Wade."
"Yeah! We're on it!" Jenny went out of the room to notify the team.
"Wait, Jenny!" Kim attempted to call her back.
"Mission time!" Star cheered, following the robot girl.
"...I didn't think this would qualify as a Legion mission." Kim said, not seeing any point to dissuade them.
"We're a team now, Kim. A lot of us have already said that time and again. Including you." Ilana pointed out.
On that, Kim has to agree.
"Wait? The Infinity Legion is going with you? Be sure to send me some pics!"
The ride over to Middleton Mall was not a long one when you have friends who can run over there in a matter of seconds as speedy alien forms and fast modes, portals, armor, along with the main flyers on the team, ones who did not possess super speed or flight capabilities relied on Mr. and Mrs. Possible's modes for transportation or the Sloth. "You guys really didn't have to come." Kim really meant that, the last times her family accompanied her on missions were successful, that much she'll admit. But this was now officially a Legion mission, some prove to have more stakes than her usual missions and the thought of them getting caught in the crossfire dreaded her to her core. That, and they tended to spout some embarrassing facts about her that she'd rather be kept secret.
"We won't get in your way, honey." Ann promised her daughter. "We just want to make sure you're careful. That goes for you all too!" She tells the Legion. "I know things get a tad bit dangerous when you're out saving the day!"
"It'll be fine, Mrs. Possible." Danny assured her.
"Yeah, Mrs. P. We got this in the bag." Jake, in his dragon form, confidently said.
The Infinity Legion went into the mall and were met with over a dozen unconscious bodies laying on the floor, making everyone stop and some even gasped as they started to look as it seemed everybody in this mall was asleep. "Team. Check for any injured." Danny ordered as they all began inspecting the sleeping forms.
Jack cradled a little girl's body and checked for a pulse and did the same with other bodies near him. "None appear to be dead."
"Jack is correct." Octus did a wide scan of the mall. "Life signs are stable. There also appear to be no sign of injuries, nor do I detect anything with their systems what would result in a mass abundance of syncope."
"Rules out a sick mutated monster." Rex reminisced.
"Oh. That's a relief." Marco nearly lost his lunch. "Do we call the paramedics?"
"Not until we find out what caused this, Marco." Zak took out his device and tried accessing the security cameras, but found nothing. "Hmm. Nothing on security cameras. Must've been taken down. Might be dealing with pros here."
"What would so-called pros being doing in a mall?" El Tigre asked.
"S.A.R.S raided the mall in Sherman to look for an important G3 device, Manny." Jack remembered. "Something of value must also be present here and the ones responsible must not have wanted interlopers or witnesses."
"Here? In the mall?" Ron was skeptical about that. "KP and I hang out here all the time. What could this place have that bad guys could want? ...Unless it's in Smarty Mart." Robot employees and holding his boss hostage could happen again, but an even worse thought came to his mind. "Wait, there's a Bueno Nacho stand in the food court! This could be corporate espionage! Rival food companies wanting to know the secret of the naco!"
"Oh, the humanity." Steel snarked with a sarcastic eye roll.
"Monique!" The team saw Kim kneel down and support her female best friend's downed form.
Rufus peeked out and tugged at Ron to point to their other friends. "Oh, man. Felix and Zita too. This just got personal."
"We could try searching the place. But, that might take time." Penn suggested.
"Time." Ben repeated, already having an alien in mind.
"Let me guess, XLR8?" Ladybug guessed. "Or is that the other fast one, Ben? Fastcat?"
"Fasttrack." Ben corrected. "And no, someone different."
Ben slammed the core down and when the light stopped shining, he became an alien with a robot-like with golden metal skin, a transparent piece of glass on his chest, revealing the gears inside that was also where the Omnitrix symbol was placed, and a key on top of his head. "My friends. Say hello to Clockwork." The Omnitrix's sample of a Chronosapien looked to the halfa leader. "And no, there's no relation to your ghost friend. But, we do have the same skill set."
"Time travel?" Ashi questioned. "Is that safe, Ben?"
"It can lead to some dangerous waters." Ladybug cautioned.
"If all else fails. But time travel is not all I can do." Clockwork's key began turning slowly until it was now spinning and a green light emitted and the mall itself was enveloped by the same color. Everyone saw the people who were unconscious suddenly back to being awake as green holograms. "As Clockwork, I can view what happened, but we cannot interact with any of it. Basically, we can see the past."
"Not bad for a wind up toy." Sashi cracked, patting his gold body. "Guess there is a thinker in there."
"Heh. When it matters, Sashi."
They paid close attention to anything that seemed out of place, but it all seemed like a relatively normal day at the mall for these people. They saw Kim and Ron's friends as Monique points to the hooded figure and there came the sudden fainting of the masses. But there came two uniformed guys who seemed to deactivate a watch device and detained and carried the hooded figure away. At that point, the replay stopped and they finally got a clue as to what happened here. "You were right, Jack. There was something in this mall that was wanted." Max said. "Only, The more appropriate term is someone."
"Two masked guys knocked out a mall full of people to get one person." Cat Noir scratched his blonde hair. "Thinks they got far with them?"
"They couldn't have gone too far, Cat." Lance faced Kim. "Kim, you know this place best. Where would you go?"
"I don't just shop here, I work here. And one of the best ways to sneak out of this mall is through the back."
The mission went perfectly.
Just their superior instructed, they utilized their disruption device to neutralize all the civilians that were present while also disabling the security cameras as well. The target attempted to blend in with the crowd while also obscuring their face, but no one could hide from W.E.E's cameras and it was foolish of her to think so. They had the target bound and gagged and hoisted over one the shoulder of one of them and were approaching a black SUV and opened the truck to put the target in. But then a ripping noise was heard and they turned to see a portal being opened up which paved way for the Infinity Legion to come through.
"Found our masked fools." The American Dragon cracked his claws, ready to brawl.
"Why don't we play rock, paper, scissors, for who gets to take them down?" Rex said out of cockiness. "Only two of them."
Glancing at each other, the two figures placed their captive on the ground and became surrounded by twin red glowing auras. Two extra set of figures appeared, followed by more and more until the Legion were surrounded by hordes of them, each glowing that red glow, punching open hands with fists, cracking knuckles and so on. "Well. Look at that." Penn chuckled, twiddling his thumbs together in a nervous manner. "Duplication. That is a very cool power. Good for you guys."
"Just couldn't resist opening that mouth, Rex." Cat Noir said.
"Hey! Way I see it, there's plenty enough for all of us!" The EVO's Smack Hands were raised and smacked away at them, then three tried overwhelming him by piling on his back. "Big mistake." The Boogie Pack knocked them away and the turbines on the wings created compressed air that blew more of them away and everyone fought against these clones.
"Free for all brawl." Sashi's energy blades hummed as she grins. "Now we're talking." She evades enemy blows to return her own, showcasing her well known ferocity, her boyfriend and Boone came to her assistance with vigor as Penn and their wise man shot stun blasts while fighting them off.
Lance grabbed a wrist and twisted it around, he turned the clone around and kicked him hard into a crowd of clones. "Duplication." He grunted. "The more I spend time in these other dimensions, the more I prefer the threats of our own." he said as Corus shielded him with her forcefield.
"I like to think of it as a learning experience." Octus' body was resistant the punches and scanned over the clones. "Fascinating."
"I'd be more fascinated if they stopped!" Marco kicked a trash can lid up to catch it and threw it like a frisbee that ricocheted off heads and was reinforced by Star's magic. Max Steel only needed to go into Turbo Clone Mode in his Base Mode as it was strong enough to handle them and Jack didn't bother using his sword as he saw fighting unarmed combatants with it as dishonorable. His wife and Jenny were in the skies, firing energy projectiles
Cat Noir struggled to get clones off his staff, they were thrown off as he flipped to make mid-air kicks. "If most of these guys are clones, then taking out the originals will end this quicker, right?"
"Then which ones are they?" El Tigre asked jumping on one's head and grabbed two with chain claws and slammed both into his ride.
"Might take a while, Manny." Zak's Claw staff spun around as he did a 180 and hits clones that jumped at him. "Danny, they want whoever that is. Getting them away would be a blow to them."
"Agreed." Danny split into three clones and they shot ice rays to freeze the clones who wanted a piece of him and the original Danny Phantom flew through them to get to the captive and carried what was as far as he could tell was female. He heard the bad guys' getaway vehicle activate on its own and the roof opened up to reveal a self automated cannon turret. Its doors opened sideways to unveil metal bodies crouched down and the limbs folded, which unfolded and became two legged walking cannons. The ghost boy's two clones were blasted and he went intangible and retreated underground and laid the rescued woman down before blasting eye ghost rays at the robots.
The Ninja's scarf snatched robots and threw it up where Jake sets fire to them. "Ninja Plant Growing ball!" This ball resulted in vines sprouting to trap the enemy forces. Marco led Star away from the turret fire, but it had persistent fire and thankfully, both were carried away from its line of fire at seemingly blinding speeds.
"Wow, Ben! Clockwork's fast, too?" Star marveled.
"Not exactly." His fast movements were actually an affect of his time controlling abilities, he slowed time around him down and he would move freely to intercept anything, making it appear to anyone else who wasn't Clockwork that he's moving super fast. Using the same ability again, he went for the shooting turret and he fired a green blast from the transparent glass. It struck the turret, which quickly rusted until it broke apart, having been aged into nothingness.
Ron looked up at the walking robot cannon thing and puts up his dukes. "Waling robot cannon thingy, you just messed with the wrong mystical monkey master!" Giving out a battle cry, he leapt and double kicked it on the main body, then comes the main blows to the where the weapon was aimed at him and it fired once that shot him into a car, his MMP aura protecting him but he can still feel the sting. "That all you got?" Ron weekly got up and attacked once more, only to be met with another shot. "Come on, Stoppable! You're better than this now!" Help came once Rex and Jack sliced the legs off with the magic katana and BFS and the former placed his hand on the still operational cannon to let the nanites do their work.
"You opted not to smash it to pieces, Rex." Jack notices with a smile. "Miracles can indeed happen."
"Was that a joke?" Not being offended, Rex actually laughed. "Well, I'll be. Maybe there might be hope for Lance."
The second walker was hounded by aerial attacks from Danny, Ashi, and Jenny. Lance had activated the Manus armor and struck the final blow by jamming his spear weapon down to destroy it. "I heard that!" Clones climbed up his legs but Ladybug's Yo-Yo yanked them off and were forced by Jake's incredible dragon strength.
Kim continued to fight off her own batch of clones, noticing how everyone was doing, with all of their powers, it's easy for them to handle themselves in this kind of fight. Meanwhile, she still had to take care of the faceless goons meant to try and defeat her from stopping whatever evil scheme is going on this time around. She kicked her pacing into overdrive, punching and kicking harder than before, it was tiring, but she needed to end this fast to get some answers, maybe leave some them conscious to do so. But then she thought about their powers, the power of duplication and the red glow that happens when it's activated.
Such a thing reminded her of two individuals.
Two clones grabbed her by the front and by the back and she elbowed one and kicked the other in the stomach. "No one but my man gets to get all handsy like that." She grabbed both the masks and took them off, gasping as she saw the faces of the twin members of Team Go. "Wego?" She breathed in shock and was about to tell the others to stand down.
Before she could, her hair was blown away by extreme winds that made her shield her face as a hovercraft soared over the team piloted by Agent Alpha who put the ship on autopilot and hoisted down via a rope. Agent Alpha actually surprised Kim enough for her to lower her guard and deal some heavy blows to her arms and legs. "Kim, I'm coming!" Agent Alpha caught Cat Noir's staff and jammed him in the gut with it and did a quick spin to chop him on the head and an air kick, disarming the Parisian. "This guy's good."
"We'll see about that."
Sashi's blows would have quickly incapacitated any other fighter, but Agent Alpha parried with his own countermoves that actually tired her out a little and fell down after he side stepped her feet. Danny blasted him with a non lethal ghost ray and Agent Alpha was met with being caught Rex who grabbed him with a Smack Hand.
The agent stuck a metal rod to the oversized metal appendage, shocking rex and dismantling the Smack Hand. The guy had a bag full of tricks, like his technological gauntlet which he types on to control his ship remotely to unleash flying drones armed with lasers, Clockwork grabbed every Legion member on the ground and saved them. Flyers fired with their own abilities but saw that it had a durable shell.
Agent Alpha picked up the Wego twin who was one of the originals-evident by his clones disappearing when he went down-and shouted to the other. "The mission is a failure! Withdraw!"
The remaining Wego twin concentrated to make all his clones disappear and he and Agent Alpha shot grappling hooks to the hovercraft.
"They're making a break for it! Other flyers, with me!" Danny's legs shifted into a ghostly tail to engage pursuit.
"Don't worry! I got them!" Kim made a surprisingly impulsive move by launching her own grapnel.
She reached to the ship's entrance and tried rescuing the twins and threw a punch at him which he evades and jumped to spin kick her and she grabbed his leg and threw him to the edge. Kim went to get the sleeping Wego twin but his brother summoned clones to force her off, Kim screamed as she fell.
"KP!" Ron shouted in alarm.
"No!" Danny subconsciously raised his right arm and green ecto energy shot out and formed into a giant hand that Kim landed on.
"Dude!" The Ninja sputtered in shock. "When the juice could you do that?!"
"Just now. A new ghost power." the halfa breathed as he gently laid Kim down where Ron ran to hug her out of relief and the hovercraft getting away.
"Great. Bad guys got away." Rex sarcastically droned.
"Bad guy." Kim corrected. "Those two masked guys. Ron and I know them. They were the Wego twins."
"Wego?!" Ron exclaimed with Rufus.
"Who?" Ilana questioned as she and Lance deactivated their armors.
"Bit of a long story, but that ship. I think I know who we're dealing with." As soon as Kim said that, Jenny suddenly fell down after finding herself being bound by metal cables that electrocuted her. Octus and Steel were then shot with an EMP blast and knockout gas was released that everyone breathed in and they all fell to their knees as thye felt their bodies shutting down. Before closing her eyes, Kim heard the faint sound of an approaching helicopter and then, she knew no more.
UNDISCLOSED LOCATION
Kim felt like a massive fog was beginning to clear up insider her head, getting rid of the sense of lightheadedness and could clearly remember what happened. They rescued someone who was taken by two unknowns who turned out to be the Wego twins of Team Go and were attacked by someone with obvious connections to an old foe. Then came the gas and all motor functions in her and the others just shut down and they were out for who knows how lung. Her eyes opened but still saw nothing but darkness.
"What is this?" She found her arms being restrained by cuffs.
"Kim?"
"Penn? Where are you?"
"I don't know. Can barely see a thing myself and I can't reach my sword." Penn said, struggling. "Sashi, Bonne, anyone else? Tell me other guys from our time are here."
To his and Kim's relief, they heard Sashi. "On your left, PZ. At least, I assume it's your left."
"I'm here, too." Boone spoke. "Freaking out internally, but intact."
"If anyone else is awake, let us know." Groans sounding like Ladybug, Jake, Cat Noor, Max, Lance, Ilana, Randy, Jack, Manny, Ron, and Zak.
They heard the groan of the resident half-ghost. "Wha-What's going on?"
"Danny. Good to hear you, man. Think you can phase us out of here?" Cat Noir asked.
"I-I don't think I can." Danny's phasing powers were no good and his enhanced strength were also no good, despite being awake, he still felt light in the head to do anything.
A calm voice was then heard by them. "Don't worry, Infinity Legion. This is just protocol. Get those blindfolds and cuffs off, boys."
Kim could finally see, as did the others and the rest coming to with the robotic members being reactivated and standing up from chairs and now she recognized their surroundings as one of the outposts belonging to the global espionage organization that handles unorthodox threats to world safety, Global Justice, AKA one of the Legion's many benefactors. Scientists hard at work, heavy assault vehicles and aerial ships, the works. It was an operation that was spearheaded by Doctor Director, an adult woman with short brown hair, wearing her official uniform and of course her signature eyepatch. "What is this?" Rex asked, rubbing his head.
"This, Mr. Salazar is Global Justice and I must say it is a pleasure to finally meet." Dr. Director says with her hands together. "Solomon's been keeping me up to date with your progress and it is quite impressive."
"Global Justice." Danny recalled the time when the team settled into the tower for the first time. "You helped worked to build our HQ."
"That she did." Kim confirmed and gave her a critical eye. "Can't say I'm crazy about the whole abducting deal, though."
"Apologies. But, this is standard protocol." Dr. Director said evenly. "Secrecy is our greatest strength. If it's any consolation, the EMP blasts and knockout gas were non-lethal."
"Really? Well, that makes me and my throbbing headache feel so much better." Rex sarcastically said.
"Wonder if a side effect of the gas is me actually agreeing with you." Lance grumbled.
Zak blinked several times, his eyes glowing orange briefly and then not. "Woah. Head rush."
"I got you, Zak." Jenny helps her friend up.
With everyone recovering and regaining their footings and bearings, Danny talked with the Global Justice Network director. "Dr. Director, why did you bring us here? Does it have something to do with what went down at the mall?"
"As a matter of fact, Mr. Fenton, it does." Dr. Director nodded. "But, before we get into that. It's time we send in the second party." Snapping her fingers, lights turned on and two more people were revealed to be blindfolded and bound by cuffs.
"Can someone please let me go?! This is no way to treat a renowned superhero!"
"Now, brother. Be more polite, we should respect their privacy. For how are we better than the vile ones who wronged if we just barged into their dwelling and start trouble?"
"You all could've at least separated us! This borders on torture and my fans won't stand for it!"
"Hego and Mego?" Ron asked. "Is this about Wego?
"Exactly what we'll he discussing." The two brothers were similarly set free and saw the assembled Legion.
"Kim and Ron." Hego smiled. "And your new team of heroes. This is perfect! I was thinking that a team up could help us with our problem!"
His brother, on the other hand, wasn't as enthusiastic. "Why are they here? This has nothing to do with them."
"That's where you're wrong, Mr. Wego. As of right now, the Infinity Legion are now involved in this case and if you wish to get your brothers back, cooperating with them is within your best interest."
"What? Working with a bunch of rookies in the super team business? No, thank you."
"Hey, who are you calling rookies?" Rex walked up right to Mego's face. "Besides Kim and Ron, we never even heard of you."
"Um, actually." Ladybug raised her hand. "I know this person who's up to date with anything superhero related and I think she mentioned you guys. You're Team Go, right?"
Hego swelled up a bit in pride. "That we are, miss. Team Go of Go City. Using powers given to us by a meteor, we protect our fair city. Nice to know we're recognized by fellow crime fighters. Hey, now!" Hego looks at Marco and marches up to him and inspected his attire. "Son, not to be naggy, but you could improve a bit on your uniform. A hoodie is hardly enough to conceal your secret identity. Maybe if you throw in some grease paint."
"Grease paint?"
Hego took note of other members who dressed too casually for superhero work. "Truth be told, I can't help but notice there seems to be a lot of color clashing among you. I could recommend the tailor that made our uniforms."
The team stared at him incredulously. "He's kidding, right?" Ben asked.
"Matching uniforms counts for a coordinated team." Hego looks at Jack. "As team leader, you should consider this."
Danny moved into his eyesight. "Actually, I'm the leader and I think we're getting off topic here. Lot more important things to dot han discuss superhero fashion sense."
"Quite right." Dr. Director got to the matter at hand. "Days ago, Team Go's headquarters suffered an attack led by one of them men you encountered. Agent Alpha." She instructed her subordinates to show an image. "He is an operative working under the international chaos spreading shadow organization, W.E.E."
"W.E.E?" Lance tilted his head.
"It's an acronym. Don't worry about it, buddy. No one gets it the first time." Ron said, making Lance glower.
"I know what an acronym is. I just don't get the absurdity of using that moniker. What does it even stand for?"
"Worldwide Evil Empire."
Cue beat of silence.
Zak breaks it. "...Not exactly subtle for a shadow organization."
"Do not underestimate them." Dr. Director cautioned as her agents showed them the man who ran the show. "This is the man who heads W.E.E. Gemini." she glares hatefully.
"Gemini? Huh, you know, we only foiled his plot this one time and barely saw him again." Ron says after some thinking. "I think he was involved with this auction thing, but there were a lot of bad guys KP, Rufus, and I busted that time."
"Uh-buh." Rufus agreed.
"Well, he's resurfaced. And ordered his men to attack Team Go to acquire these two." They saw the Wego twins in their team uniforms. "Each member of Team Go has a unique superpower. As you saw, the Wego twins can make vast duplicates of themselves. Whatever Gemini wants, he may need them for it and it also involves her."
GJ agents brought in the sleeping target and Kim's friends who were now fully awake. "Ugh. Why'd you have to use a bag on me. Not enough budget for more blindfolds?"
"Monique!" Kim hugged her tightly as Ron tended to Felix and Zita.
"Normally, we don't let civilians into our bases, but due to their close relations to you, we made exceptions. As for her." The hood was removed to reveal a beautiful blonde female who was standing up after awakening. "To those unfamiliar, I'd like you all to meet Dr. Vivian Francis Porter. One of the foremost robotic scientists and target of W.E.E."
As Vivian stood up, most of the guys were left shellshocked at the stunningly beautiful woman. "Woah. She's a robotics genius?" Randy's jaw nearly hung off. "Dude."
Ashi closed his mouth. "Is it that hard to believe?" she asked with an scolding expression.
"Uh, not at all! Just surprised."
"Shouldn't you be at the lab with my dad?" Kim pointed out.
"I was." Vivian answered, hugging her arms with a disturbed expression. "Oliver sensed someone following me, but they had these disruption devices that completely shut him down. I ran to the mall, but then, even I just shut down."
"One of W.E.E's new gadgets." Dr. Director clarified. "From our intel, it emits a unique sonic frequency so high that it instills dizziness which results in instant fainting spells within anyone nearby."
Felix whistled. "Powerful enough to make an entire mall go out. Pretty snazzy."
Vivian took note of the wheelchair bound boy's presence. "Felix? Oh, my gosh!" The beautiful robotics expert ran over to give him a look over. "I didn't even know you were there! Are you hurt?!"
"I'm fine, Viv." Felix reassured.
"Back up. Felix, how do you know her?" Ron asked his close friend.
"Mom's a colleague of hers in the lab. She brings me there sometimes and well, I offer to help some of the scientists, mostly her. I'm like her unofficial lab assistant."
Like any scientist, Zak came to conclusion with all the information that's been shared. "So, if you're such an expert in robotics, this Gemini must need you for something related to that field and these Wego twins' duplicating powers would've made it a lot more easier."
"That's what we've been thinking as well. Gemini's been silent up until now and despite all our best efforts, we haven't even scratched the surface of what he's been planning during that time." Dr. Director then proposed to them a certain idea she's been waiting to give to the assorted heroes. "Infinity Legion. Team Go. Due to the superhuman element involved, I think having you all investigate and uncover WE.E.'s plan and put a stop to it swiftly."
"Wait. Are you saying we're going to be spies?" Penn asked, getting hyper. "That's what's happening, right? Sashi, Boone, I know we've been through this before, but this is the spy mission I've really been itching for!"
"We are already involved." Jack pointed out. "Much too late to turn back now."
"Just what I was thinking." Danny crossed his arms. "Dr. Director, consider the Infinity Legion onboard."
"Make that double for Team Go." Hego agreed, nudging his disgruntled brother.
"Not all of you." Kim knew that it'd be a longshot, but this feels something past and present members of Team Go should be present for. "We may need one more pair of glowing green hands."
Dr. Drakken's Secret Evil Lair (Except to his mother...and cousin...and Pixie Scouts...and archenemies)
Drew Lipsky.
Or as the world knows him better as Dr. Drakken.
Self-proclaimed evil mastermind with dreams of world domination only to be thwarted time and time again by his teenage arch nemesis and her buffoon of a sidekick along with that naked mole rat of theirs. After his plan fails, Drakken goes right back to planning more schemes and ideas to make the whole world bow before him and presently, he was in the middile of completing an important project that's taken up his time for a long while now, and finally, the fruits of his labor will pay off and he can show all the naysayers that he's still relevant in the evil genius game. All of them, from Dementor to James Possible, will rue the day they ever mocked the superior genius that is him.
"Shego!" The blue skinned scarred mad scientist called forth his number two. "I have done it! I have completed my latest invention that will surely make my name one to be feared!"
"Mm-hm." Shego replied, uninterested as she read her magazine. She's heard this old speech many times before.
"It's true." Drakken insists. "With this, no one shall ever think of me as an incompetent washout or sellout ever again. Behold!" he removes a curtain showing an advanced upgraded food maker. "The revolutionary panini maker mark X!" Hold for applause which never came save for the nice cricket who decided to throw Drakken a bone.
"Panini maker." Shego stared at him.
"Yes."
"You're brilliant scheme is a panini maker." Shego doesn't know why she should even be surprised.
This is classic Drakken.
"Before you hit me with one of your signature dry remarks that really cuts deep, let me explain." Drakken tapped his fingernails together. "I've been up to date with what's what with the word on the web. Food trucks! Mobile restaurants are future, Shego! Once they get a taste for them, they won't be able to go a full day without Dr. D's patented Paninis. The alliterations helps."
Okay, she might as well shuts this down before he embarrasses himself further. "Shampoo. Cupcakes. Any of those ring a bell?"
"...Alright, so the get rich quick schemes have never been fruitful." Drakken admitted. "But, here's the kicker, it's made with my mother's secret recipe!" he pauses dramatically then slumps and falls to his chair. "Oh, who am I kidding? That is an epic fail." He sighs sadly as he tips the panini maker off, allowing it to break. His depression was noticed by his pet poodle who whimpered in sympathy and walked up to nuzzle his leg, making Drakken smile and picks him up. "Oh, Commodore Puddles. You have been a great reliever of sadness these past months."
"Still drawing up zilch, huh, Dr. D?"
"That I am, Shego." Dr. Drakken looks up to the ceiling while stroking Commodore Puddles on his lap. "I don't know what's wrong. I'm usually rearing to move forward with a brilliant scheme. But, after that whole Lowardian alien invasion, I have been in such a rut. Bad enough my reputation in the supervillain world is shaky enough after I basically helped save that world, but now I have nothing to show that I'm still the vile genius evildoer that I've always been, even if I do end up failing."
"If?"
"Okay. When." Drakken conceded. "The point is, my track record may not be stellar as I'd like to believe, but my cementation as a supervillain is still dear to me. It's the only thing I have in my life!"
"Dr. D."
"What?"
"The petals are back."
Indeed, flower petals sprout out of his neck. "Again?" he shouts in frustration. "Why do these infernal things keep coming back?"
"You gotta keep your temper in check."
"I like to think I have a right to be angry!"
Normally, Shego wouldn't really care for another one of his angry whining, truth be told, she found it more entertaining than television, no one rants like a little baby than her boss. But that was before the Lowardion invasion, after that whole mess, something had change between them, the usual boss-employee relationship between them changed into-well, she wasn't sure what they were right now, what she does know is that it's drastically different as she shows actual concern for his state of duress. "Look, so you're not at a good place right now. That hasn't stopped you before. Despite logical sense telling you that it should."
"Mean, but very true."
"You're one of the most stubborn people on this planet. Often times, that's one of your biggest problems." Shego says, not sugarcoating it, but still added something sweet. "But, at the same time, it's still pretty dang admirable."
"Pointing out one of my flaws, yet making it seem positive. Huh, I'm surprised, Shego. That may have been one of the single nicest things you've ever said to me." Drakken actually feels some of his spirits being lifted.
Shego shrugs with a smile. "Well, what can I say? Worked long enough with you to see that. If it means anything, I still think you got something rotten in there."
"It does. It really does." Drakken smiles softly at her and she returns it and both caught themselves in a meaningful long stare that was interrupted by the lair's alarm that brought their attention. "An intruder!"
Shego checked the scanners. "Detecting a lot of heat signatures. Bringing it up now." Both saw the screen showing a familiar redhead, her blonde beau and a cadre of teens and two adults. "What do you know? It's the princess and she brought her own entourage."
"Kim Possible? Yes!" Drakken was actually elated by her presence. "This proves I'm still relevant! My arch foe is obviously here to see if I'm up to any nasty deeds! Plants, I command you to rise!" Sentient plant vines were summoned. "Shego! Open the-"
Max Steel's Strength Mode broke down a wall, saving Shego the trouble. "Always wanted to bust down the wall of an evil scientist's lair."
"While not being mindful of any hidden traps?" Sashi warns.
"Don't worry, Sashi. They usually don't end up working." Kim stopped herself upon seeing the vines. "Although, this is very new."
"Ah, Kim Possible!" Drakken greeted. "We meet once again! I had no plans for today, but defeating you shall be the highlight of the day!" With mental command, the vines attacked, but were frozen by Danny's ice, swords slicing, fire from dragons and blasters, and an alien named Swampfire controlled them with his own powers of plant control. "...What?"
"Cool it, Drakken. We're not here for a fight." Kim is tackled by Shego who pins her down to the floor.
"Should've thought of that before busting our wall down, Kimmy!" Shego raises a glowing green hand and her wrist was grabbed by Danny's own.
"That was because no one answered the door, lady!" Shego swiped at him but his intangibility made it hard to touch and he throws her away where she became surrounded by the Legion.
"You're that phantom kid." Shego recognized. "I heard that Kimmy's been hanging her own crowd? This take your super-friends to work day?"
"No, sister." Hego and Mego appear. "This is a family matter."
Calming things down, Kim shared everything they knew about what had happened to Wego and how they seem to be now under the thrall of Gemini and that GJ needs both the Legion and Team Go to get to the bottom of this. Shego listens intently, and there were two things that were ticking her off, one being that while she knows how bumbling they can be, that fact that her two older brothers couldn't save the twins and two, someone had the audacity to do this to her, crossing her was a huge mistake. "Aviarius was one thing, but you two dummies let the twins get out o your sight for one second and they got nabbed!"
"Don't look at me. Muscles for brains here was very little help." Mego retorted.
"Now isn't the time, Mego!" Hego begins to implore his sister for her help. "Shego, I know things between us are tense, but right now, our brothers are being forced to commit actions under an evil mastermind."
"Who, Gemini?" Drakken scoffed. "That one-eyed loser was only a problem once and suddenly, he's your biggest threat? Did you forget who the original threat to your daily lives was?"
"Didn't you help save the world?" Ladybug pointed out.
"You got honored and everything." Cat Noir added.
"Stop rubbing it in! I'm still bad to the bone!" The oven was heard ticking. "Ooh, the muffins are done...I mean, muffins of doom!"
Kim rolled her eyes and tried getting through to Shego's rough exterior. "Look, Shego. Helping the good guys, saving people, I know full well that's not your usual cup of tea, but it's different when your family's involved. I can threaten to tell people you used to be a superhero or even use a rebuilt Attitudinator, but I think I'll take my chances with hoping that you'll make the right choice."
Same old Kimmy.
Using that whole morality card. Shego's had to clean up her brothers' messes even before they got powers, a job she's always hated with such passion. But, this is a mess that involves the lives of the twins, her little brothers. Most little brothers would be annoying like Kim's, but for Shego, her two older brothers already filled that spot. Wego, those little guys hardly ever gave her any trouble, there were times where even they had more sense but being the youngest among the siblings, they tended to follow their brothers' lead. Even so, they were her little brothers, and they needed their big sister right npw. "Breathe a word of this and it's on your head. I'll ride along, alone."
"What?" Drakken asked. "But, Shego-"
"Drew. I can handle this." Shego confidently told her boss. "You don't have to get involved in whatever mess my family's in."
Kim raised a brow then coyly smirked. "Drew? Finally got to first name basis, huh? Took sooner than I thought."
"Shut up and point me to whatever fancy ride that geek friend of yours got."
Wade came through for the legion by getting them a yacht trip across the sea. Everyone couldn't believe that they're actually travelling in such class, much less a yacht that belonged to Britina of all people. The pop singer owed Kim a favor as with so many other people that Kim's helped all over the world and thus, provided her, Ron. and Rufus a means of transportation to exotic places that would take a lot of time to procure by normal means. The redhead was talking with the pop star while the others made themselves comfortable in their temporary arrangements. "Thanks again for letting us use your yacht, Britina."
"Like, don't worry about it, Kim." Britina says, she'd do anything Kim would ask of her. "After you totally exposed that copycat, Camille and got me cleared, I owed you a bunch."
"No big." Kim modestly replied. "Just glad you and everyone else she framed got out okay."
"Oh, it is big, girl." Another singing celebrity was onboard, that being MC Honey. "I gotta tell y'all, prison orange was not my style. And Britina, let me thank you for sharing your ride with me while mine's getting repaired."
"Anything for a fellow victim of Camille." Britian sighed contently. "I this after Nicky Nick and I broke up."
MC Honey gaped. "Again? Honey, ain't that the fourth time this month?"
"Guy totally blew it. He was such...a guy. I can get a new man leagues ahead of him." Britina got a twinkle in her eye. "Which, by the way, Kim. What's the word on the brooding hottie over there?" She motions to Lance who silently stood, leaning on the rails as everyone enjoyed themselves while he was stoic, only moving when they've reached their destination. "Talk about yummy." Britina fanned herself with her hand.
"Yummy? Girl, the word you're looking for is scrumptious." MC Honey chimed, eyeing Lance as well with a smirk as she glances at his noticeable athletic frame.
"Who, Lance? Honestly, I don't really know what his type is." Kim replied. "It's actually really hard to get a good read on the guy most of the time. I think he prefers it that way."
"Aloof, huh? How mysterious." This only enticed Britina more, same for MC Honey.
Lance had no idea of the two celebrity's interests and frankly, he didn't pay it any heed all he focused on was the mission at hand, something the 18-year-old soldier wished his teammates did too, but alas, they didn't. "Okay, guys. I'm gonna be real with you. We should talk to Solomon about getting our own boat." Randy laid back on his armchair while sipping on fancy soda. "Quantum's cool and all, but man, a guy could get used to this."
"I hear you, Randy." Boone moaned in delight as a masseuse worked on his back.
"Saving the world does have its perks." Max said, relaxing with Steel.
"Trust me, guys. This doesn't even come close." Ron said in the pool and Rufus laid on a floatie.
"We should go on missions Kim's used to more often." Ben said, tipping glasses with Rex as they enjoyed the ride under the shade.
"Hermano, I am down for that."
"Can we focus here." Lance was at least thankful that Sashi had her head on straight. "This is a mission. Not a vacation."
Manny's head peeked out of the pool. "Penn! Your girlfriend's sucking out all our fun!" he complained.
Star pouted, holding a beach ball. "No fair."
Sashi growled and was ready to jump in there, but Penn eased her frustrations. "Easy there, Sashi. Nothing wrong with enjoying some calm times for now, helps sets a good mood."
"This is a calm before the storm, Sashi." Jack sat in a meditative state, mentally preparing himself with mental training. "We must take this time to have a state of both awareness and serenity. Isn't that right, Ashi."
Ashi looked at a tray of shrimp, making her grimace a bit. She cautiously picks up the food and slowly eats it, she munches on the food and slowly grins. "Odd, yet tasty." she tells her husband.
"Think you could share some?" Ashi complief with Zak's request.
One who was clearly not enjoying themselves was Marco who bends his top half over the rails and continuously gags, not quite as in tuned with globe trotting as the rest. "Marco, you seem to be going through periods of wooziness and nausea. Were the shrimp not to your liking?"
"Not the shrimp, Octus. Boats never really agreed with me, or any moving vehicle."
"You were okay in the Quantum." Jenny brought up.
"Adrenaline helps keep it down." Marco holds his mouth and they could hear his gagging.
Cat Noir patted Marco's shoulder. "Easy there, pal. Just let it all out."
"Motion sickness's more common than you think." Marinette comforted. "Jenny." The robot girl pulled out a barf bag hidden in one of her compartments for Maeco to use.
Danny and Ilana pulled Kim away from the singers to talk about the mission parameters with Dr. Director who contacted them via holo-screen. "While this is the first time Gemini's been active in a while, we've been tracking a paper trail relating to funding towards W.E.E. Our sources indicate that all his funding comes from his agents attending the Bermuda Triangle club. Most likely, his agents cheat at the gambling games that take place there behind closed doors."
"Bermuda Triangle." Been a while since Kim's been there. "Whole day's just a big bag of callbacks."
"This operation requires stealth and coordination, I recommend that you advise your teammates with the more flashy abilities to only use them if all else fails, same can be said for Team Go. That being said, how's your newest asset?"
Shego was lounging while trying to tune out her brothers' arguing nearby. "No one's hurting each other. So, that's something." Danny replied with a shrug. "We also got those new duds you had Kim's friend, Wade sent us to blend in and help on the stealth side of things. Thanks for that."
"My pleasure." Wade said from Kim's wrist.
"Whatever you may find, report back." Dr. Director said.
"Understood." Ilana replied as the screen disappeared.
"Well, now all we can do now is wait." Danny stopped Kim from leaving. "Something wrong?"
"Kim. We need to talk about what happened before." Danny hated having to be the grown up, but as the leader, he needs to learn to call any of his friends out when they make risky moves. "I only just learned I can that whole hand construct thing. Any of us could've gotten to that ship easily, you didn't have to put yourself at risk like that. I know it's nothing new to you, but you have more people watching your back now. It doesn't hurt to learn to hang back."
"It could've ended badly for you." Ilana wholeheartedly agreed. "You could've died."
Kim knew the risks to this whole gig she's been, it's not like she's just doing this for the thrill. Heck, she agrees with their assessments, it's just not often she gets rescued. Not often she finds herself feeling outclassed too, Kim doesn't want to feel like this, but just does and it infuriates her, but she can't let that mess up the mission. "I-I know. Sorry, I got a little ahead of myself. It won't happen again."
Danny and Ilana looked at each other. "Kim, is there something you want to talk about?" he asked. He didn't need his ghost sense to see something was wrong.
Kim shakes her head in denial. "I'm fine. I gotta go get ready." She walks away, leaving behind two concerned friends.
Britina's yacht arrived at their destination swiftly. It took a while for everyone to get themselves mission ready, what with all the enjoyment most of them had and changing into dry clothing and leaving behind all the fanciness behind. A swanky club like the Bermuda Triangle exclusively caters to the insanely rich kind of patrons, the deeper the pockets, the more money is betted on the games. They needed to weed out any who were in attendance and see which were working for Gemini, this wasn't the usual free for all all out fight, it was primarily stealth for the most part and since not everyone were proficient in the ways that don't involve just going in, wrecking stuff, it was a pretty tall order. Luckily, those who preferred the subtle approach led by example, and were on point for this mission.
Since the place will be filled with extravagant people, they needed to look the part, so Wade rented tuxedos and dresses of the most highest demand that everyone changed into. Except for Max, Steel used the camouflauge function of his armor to make him appear to wear a tuxedo of his own to fit with the others. "Real talk here, my friends. I make this look good." Rex pulls at his bowtie with pride as he and the guys got offboard the yacht and waited for the girls.
"This is so cool!" Jake cheered. "It's like we're in a real spy movie!"
"Zero. Penn Zero." Penn quips with an accent. "Oh, yeah, Jake. This is happening."
Danny likes fun and all, but there was a more pressing matter. "Okay, you guys. Let's not get too comfortable. We go in, find W.E.E's agent, he tells us all that he knows, and not make a scene."
"Oh, look, Hego, another you." Mego snarks, he applied makeup to make his skin not appear purple.
"You. Stop with the mouth." Shego changed long before the Legion. "You're lucky I'm not blasting you for almost embarrassing me in front of MC Honey. Now, should I get Kimmy and her gal pals? We're burning daylight."
"Jeez. Talk about pushy." Ben frowns at her aggressive mood.
"Right? For me, it's like hearing a cranky version of my mom." Zak remarked.
"Sorry to keep you boys waiting." Ron, Cat Noir, Jack, Penn and Marco considerably became transfixed as the girls came on down with their evening dresses and hairs flowing in the breeze. Each wore a dress that with their own color, Star's was a vibrant pink, Sashi had hers magenta, Ladybug made one with the same color scheme as her uniform fit with a domino mask, Jenny activated her human disguise to fit with her blue and white dress, Ashi's was a brilliant black that showed some leg, Ilana had hers be a bright yellow, and Kim's was a light blue.
Penn gave an impressed whistle. "Wow. I know dresses aren't your thing, but man!"
Sashi smirks and cups his chin with a finger. "Reactions like that make it worth it."
"Now that is the perfect dress for a first date." Cat Noir holds his chest. "Can you feel the burning in my chest?"
Ladybug pats his cheek playfully. "Priorities, kitty. Priorities."
Jack intertwines his and Ashi's hands. "You look stunning, my love."
"You're no slouch, yourself." Ashi pecks him on the lips.
Star rubbed her arm, she would have preferred to use her wand to make a dress for herself and the girls, but admittedly, it did look rather cute and then she saw the slack jawed expression on her best friend's face. "Marco. Are you alright?"
"Y-Yeah." Marco cleared his throat. "My stomach just suddenly feels a whole lot better now."
"Um..."
"Okay, yeah, that was a bit gross." Marco admitted.
"Yeah, but, I'm happy for your stomach." Star couldn't complain about the way Marco was looking at her.
"Heh. I'm happy for my stomach, too."
"Excuse me, lovebirds!" Shego shouted impatiently to the two teens. "Mind saving the mushy lovefest for when this whole thing is over? I swear, this is why I never work with teenagers!"
"Wait, but we're not-" Marco was pushed ahead by Rex.
"Come on, amigo. We're burning daylight."
The Bermuda Triangle lived up to its reputation, businessmen, playboys, models, people that you'd see on the red carpet in Hollywood were all in abundance at the club. Made some of them feel out of place, while others walked with a hint of swagger that would make them definitely appear to seem like the type, while some also made themselves out to be just more faces in the crowd. A secret entrance was provided to them by Kim and snuck in undetected, and they all observed the place. "Can't believe Providence never sent me on a mission like this." Rex saw the movies and he would totally slay it with this whole spy things, no matter what Six would say. "What say we give it a go with a nice drink of soda, gents. Shaken, not stirred."
"Aw man, you beat me to it, Rex." Max chuckled, fist bumping Rex.
"Focus, people. Although, Rex, nice use of the reference. Very classic." Danny sat down at a nearby table. "Alright, look around. See if anyone seems a bit shady and yes, I realize that in a place like this, it's finding a tiny needle in a haystack. But, most people don't have abilities that can make things easy. Split into groups and stay on coms."
Danny, Lance, Max, Octus, Lance, Mego, Marinette, Jack, Randy, and Zak went for the area where all the gambling takes place as that was where the agent would most likely be. Ilana, Adrien, Ben, Jake, Penn, Sashi, Boone, Marco, Star, Rex, Hego, Jenny, Shego, Manny, Ashi, and Rex stayed behind to see if the agent was still mingling. The first group were phased in by Danny through the entrance, since not all of them were of legal age to enter, they stuck close together and the robots did a quick scan. "Lot of ground to cover here." the ultralink said.
"Indeed. We could search through the area, but I believe a more easier way is to look through the security camera room located right there." Octus pointed to a room that was guarded by two men.
"They keep the security cameras here?" Max asked. "Makes sense if they want to look out for cheaters."
"Which can help us." Danny made his team, plus Mego invisible to walk right through, literally.
"Zak, do your thing."
"Always, Randy"
"Octus, Steel. If you please." Max gestured them to help.
The three hackers went to work, connecting to the main network, a genius scientist and two highly advanced alien robots accessed a database that detailed all the patrons, their names, business here, and of course, all the amount of money they're throwing into the pot and could potentially lose all at once. They skimmed through and eventually found something of note. "Look here." Zak read what they had on a shades wearing male with a clean suit. "A man that only goes by the name, Iota."
"A Greek letter." Lance notes. "Signature codenames for Gemini's agents from what Kim's told us."
The shrinker stretched his arms. "Great. Let's go get him." Jack held his sheathed katana up for Mego to bump into.
"Patience. We must not alert him. Keep him thinking that he is not uncovered and he shall be his own undoing."
"Um. Forgive me, but, I'm not part of your little kiddie squad. I do things my own way, so if you'll excuse me-" Max's hand grabbed the collar of Mego's tux and used Turbo charged strength to hold him.
"Dude, we're talking about your brothers' lives. You really want to gamble on that?"
"That wasn't a pun by the way." Steel added.
Mego bitterly relented and sulks off to a corner, complaining about more super strong blue boys. "Bad attitude. But, I can't say that's good enough reason for Shego to become a villain." Ladybug commented.
"Hey, kid. It's not my fault she couldn't handle me taking the center stage."
"I can understand the leaving part." Randy glowered.
"But he has the right idea. We just need to more conspicuous." Danny said as he turned invisible, Ashi shapeshifted into a giant chameleon, and Max used his Turbo Stealth Mode. Zak and Octus gave them info on where Iota was which is one of the poker tables while keeping a secure watch in the cameras room with a disgruntled Mego. Finding Iota was certainly no chore, they had his appearance memorized and he was in the middle of a poker game and was doing admittedly well, he gave cocky grins to his competitors who sneered him with frustrated looks as this would be the fifth time in a row that he'd win. Iota was clearly cheating, but his specialized ways of cheating made it undetectable by the cameras.
Showing his hand, the other players threw their cards to the ground and gave shouts of anger and disappointment as Iota has once again pulled off a victory. "Pleasure doing business with you boys. Give The Kid my regards." Collecting his winnings, Iota leaves the table, unknowingly being tailed and then, he got an urgent message within his shades.
He saw green letters appear; YOU ARE BEING FOLLOWED
Curious, Iota activated the shades' other functions like its heat siganture/ecto energy detection and saw his three followers and pulled out two components that when combined blaster and fired once, which shot the invisible Max Steel into a table. "Good aim." Max groaned.
"Guys, stealth is out!" Danny contacted the others. "Someone call everyone else!"
Meanwhile
Around the same time, the team that stayed behind did the best to blend in with the crowd, which was surprisingly easy for the most part, no emergency meant no need to be so alert unless they get a call from Danny's team. But, no call, no need to stop putting up the act by talking amongst themselves. "So, when you think about it, vittles should be written as it's pronounced not as it's written." Shego's green charged hand shattered a glass as she listened on to Boone's constant prattle. Guy just kept going on and on about how it was unfair that he got a bad grade on an essay just because he wrote victuals as it was pronounced rather than it was spelled out. "If it sounds like vittles, then it's vittles. Victuals just doesn't roll off the tongue well, am I right?"
"Kid." Shego stopped him. "In what scenario did you think I'd ever care about what you're saying? Heck, why would anyone care about it?"
"Oh. Well, sorry, lady. I'm just trying to break the ice." Boone huffed. "I like to think I'm not just speaking for myself but all students were unfairly graded due to one lousy spelling error."
"Again, don't care."
Rex snorted. "You think you're the only one suffering here, chica? Your bro here's taking all the fun of a superhero spy mission."
Said brother was hovering over Ben with the Omnitrix wielding boy feeling like he was in a boring lecture at school, Hego got the idea to impart some so-called superhero wisdom. "I just don't understand why you're so comfortable with your secret identity being out in the open, son. It is one of the most important aspects of being a crimefighter."
"This why you left?" Ben asked Shego. "Can't help but feel he ruined the whole hero gig for you."
"Hmph. You don't know the half of it." Shego abandons the seat and goes over to the ones that won't make her want to pull her own ears off, and Kim just so happens to be among them. "Still can't believe you actually went for the whole team thing. Group this big, not taking center stage for once must be hard." she said to her old rival.
"Hey, I don't mind. It's actually kind of nice, the whole costumed secret identity thing, I still don't quite get. But, overall, working with them has been a blast." Kim defended and then reprimanded her. "Just because you have a sour history on a team doesn't mean you should think it'd go bad for everyone else. By friends are nothing like Team Go."
Shego relented. "Yeah, I'll give them that much." she then noticed Manny staring at her. "Something on your mind, shortstuff?"
Bristling a little at the nickname, Manny asked his question. "You used to be a superhero, right?"
"A point of my life I don't remember fondly, but yeah. What of it?"
"One day, you just to leave and be a supervillain just like that?" From what he's hearing, it sounds like the decision was easy.
Shego doesn't know why she should explain herself to the runt, but she saw genuine curiosity in his eyes and despite her better judgment, she humored him. "Well, not right away. I considered doing the whole solo act, but I spend so many years with my brothers, most assumed I was still with them. Then, I realized that the whole hero business, just wasn't me, being on Team Go left a bad taste in my mouth and I realized, maybe playing for the bad guys would be more profitable. Plus, it made fighting a lot more fun."
"Bu what about your family?" Manny continued asking. "It didn't hurt at all when you left and became a villain, knowing you might one day have to fight them?"
"Yeah, that's a good question." Adrien gets involved. "Sure family can drive you crazy, but they're still family and how does getting paid to do evil stuff feel better than helping people with your powers?"
"Don't pull that morality garbage on me. I didn't even want a life involving hero or villain stuff in the first place."
"Wait, you didn't?" This was news to Kim.
"Hego was the one with the bright idea to put on matching outfits and go around fighting dweebs in more humiliating clothing." Shego clarified.
The Legion turned to Hego with some judgmental stares as it sounded like he didn't give them any choice in the matter. "Now, sister. We were bestowed incredible gifts from the heavens above. What more higher purpose was there than to use them for the greater good of saving our city from sinister forces?" Hego reasoned. "If you wish to be angry at me, at least be angry that I failed to stop the cruel seduction of evil from taking you from us."
Shego's eye twitched and decided to give dear big brother a reality check. "That's just it! You made the decision for us after that stupid meteorite smashed our old treehouse! Not everyone had the same thought of as you! Mego only went along because it got him so much attention and the twins, they were our little brothers, so of course they'd do it if the only family they had left were okay with it! You didn't think to find a cure or anything, just decided that it was okay to put your younger siblings at risk day after day and look where it got Wego! There was nothing about liking evil that made me leave, it was you!" Dryly chuckling, Shego moved away. "I don't even know why I'm bothering telling you this. It's not like you'll actually listen for once. After all, it's always gotta be your way, right Hego?"
The Legion stood in a rather uncomfortable and awkward silence after that explosive rant. "Dang." Jake winced, he's no stranger to sibling squabbles, but that was just so brutal. "Starting to think I should talk more with Haley."
"Well, that certainly made me glad to be an only child." Marco said.
Ilana looks to Hego's hurt expression with some sympathy. "I'm sure she just needs some space."
"But, she's not wrong, though." Everyone turned to Sashi after making that blunt comment. "What? It's true. You suddenly get fancy powers and think it'd be a good idea to get onto the whole hero thing just like that?"
"Well, I happened to think it was a good idea." Hego sighs. "When our parents passed away, my siblings became my responsibility, I had to make the decisions that I believed would help us in the future. As such, I expected them to be up to the task as I was."
"Yeah, you." Ben pointed out. "Look, not everyone will always be in it for the same reason as you. I won't lie, when I got the Omnitrix, all I could think about was how fun it was being hero. Took a while for me to realize that there are bigger things than a ten-year-old getting a kick out being an kick butt alien. The point is, I'm in this hero because it was my choice. No one else's."
Rex hits Hego with his own experiences. "I was a kid with amnesia when Providence found me, and the only surefire way to cure EVOs. Didn't really have any other options. Down the line, it felt nice enough that I didn't really mind it. Certainly helped me find a nice group of people to call a family and a great girlfriend."
"My mom made me for this life. But the artificial intelligence in me learned enough that I liked what I'm doing." Jenny jerked a thumb over to Shego. "She didn't like that life, but that's not exactly wrong."
"She should have been free to make her own choices." Star had her own problems with family expectations and knew the baggage that comes with it. "You're her brother, not her parent."
"She's family, dawg." Jake told him. "Not trying to tell you what to do here, but if it were my sister, I'd find some way to work it out."
Hego took this all in with deep contemplation, he always asked himself what caused the team to break up, the oldest of the siblings was always under the illusion that they were the embodiment of what a team of superheroes should strive to be and all was perfect in their family. Until their sole sister made the surprising decision to just leave, then came the news that she's been accepting jobs from supervillains and he came to the conclusion that she came to enjoy the acts of evil rather than the acts of good. It never really occurred to him that he had a hand in her decision, but after hearing from her herself, it's starting to put things in prospective. No matter their differences, Shego was still his little sister, the last he wanted was for things between them to be so deteriorated for the rest of their lives.
He was about to say something, but he lost that chance when Penn got an urgent message. "Guys, sounds like the others are having trouble."
Screams were heard and the entrance to the gambling area was thrusted into chaos when Max Steel sped out of it in Speed Mode. "Can't hit us now with our extra speed! We're just too fast!"
"Check that cocky tone, Max. Here he comes!" Steel said once Iota came flying in with his custom rocket boots and continued firing at him with his weapon, Ashi's tendrils entangled his legs and he fired at her now. Seeing his wife being attacked made Jack spring into action with his hidden katana freed from its scabbard. He sliced the weapon in two and kicked him square in the chest with his two feet, making Iota crash into a dinner table, making the patrons scream and scatter.
The windows then crashed, the masked Wego twins arrived to assist the agent of W.E.E. "Boys!" Shego gasped at the army the two quickly made and Agent Alpha crashed through the roof with his jetpack. "Get Iota out of here!" he ordered to some clones. "Clones, attack!"
Soon, the other team rejoined the others. "Fighting in the casino club? Never saw something like this in the movies." Ninja twirled his sais.
Jenny's human look mechanically deformed to reveal her robotic self and with the rest activating their own transformations and powers, some with their own catchphrases, they stared this new battle. "Hey, Rex. How's your bowling game?" Ben asked, holding up his watch. Cracking a knowing smirk, Rex readied a smack hand and Ben transformed into Cannonbolt and rolled up into his rolling ball form. Rex grabbed him and threw him across the ground to increase his speed, Cannonbolt crashed into and knocked over rows of them.
"Strike!" Rex cheered, making the second Smack Hand and joined in on the fray.
Jake flew over them and was caught by surprise when three clones jumped from the building's ledges to throw him off his flight pattern, making him fly blinding through a window and landing outside the club. Throwing them away, Jake got into a fighting stance as the clones were joined by more of them and he blocks a fist with a claw and hits the duplicate away with a fist. "Smoke bomb!" Clones coughed once breathing in the putrid stench of the Ninja's smoke bombs. Kicks and sai punches were delivered as he made his move. Joining him were Cat Noir, Penn, Ladybug, Hego, Jenny, Ashi, Danny, Ron, El Tigre, and Corus.
Cat Noir hits his split batons to a clone's weak spots and roundhouse kicks him across the face. More clone tackle him from behind and held him down and they all found themselves caught by a magic Yo-Yo and pulled it off, the clone's entire being was soon wrapped in it and Ladybug pulled hard to unwrap the string making the clones spin around and became dizzy as a result. Danny cleared a wave of them with a ghost beam that travelled vertically and overshadowed one to see if he could break whatever mind control the assumed original had, but that was just another clone and discarded the body before socking it. Corus' forcefield shielded her from an advancing horde and expanded it to throw them over to El Tigre and Penn who attacked them away with slashes from claws and lasers.
Hego was surrounded by clones and they all leapt to him and he peeled them off, not having the stomach to fight them off, clones or not. "Wego! If one or both of you are among the clones, I implore you to break free from whatever controls you!" Unfortunately, even if the originals were among them, they didn't listen. They only continued in their assault, paying no heed that they were attacking their own brother and were then sucked into a vacuum cleaner that Jenny made and others were brutally beaten by Ashi and her spiked hands.
"What? No one here has heard of any family counseling?" Jenny rhetorically asked.
Ron stood his ground and arched his arms back and collided them together, clapping his hands once to create a massive shockwave that almost blew away his own teammates, even Rufus. "Hey, Ron! Take it down a notch!" El Tigre complained.
"Whoops! My bad!"
Inside the club, Cannonbolt crashed through not just clones but a few tables too and was about to run over Agent Alpha, but he put up a barrier that deflected the Arburian Pelarota into a wall. Cannonbolt groaned, finding it hard to get back up and saw Wego clones ready to dominate due to their high numbers. "Divide and conquer is a pretty good idea." he admitted, tapping the Omnitrix dial. Where was once Cannonbolt, there was the Splixon known as Ditto.
"Hope you don't mind me copying it." Evening the odds, Ditto splits into his own army of duplicates and sent each to assist his allies.
Lance hits two deep in the gut and throws one that landed on his back, more of his attackers were met with Ditto clones that backed Lance up. "Ben, is there a limit to how many copies you can make?"
"Nah, man. I can make as much those twins."
"Then bring on as many as necessary." Lance requested with his hand on his watch, calling on his watch and fired pods filled with knockout gas. Zak defended himself with the Claw staff and narrowly dodged fire from Iota who then found that a Ditto jumped onto his arm and made him release it and Zak hit hum downside with the blunt end of the staff. With superspeed, Octus slammed into clones with great force and stuns them with shocks, wrist blasters were fired at him, but the clones found themselves ripped of their weapons from multiple slices from Jack, he then sheathed his katana, somewhere in this army, were two souls not in control of their own actions, they were victims. The best he could do was fight with his hand-to-hand combat expertise.
Shego was similar in her hesitance, not willing to use her atomic powers for once. Her main objective was Agent Alpha, but more Wego clones were standing in her way. Sashi led Dittos to attack, though she led with a rather ferocious approach, elbowing and kneeing hard in tandem with blasting that Shego called her out on. "Hey, crazy girl! Pull your punches, would ya? You could've broken one of their bones!"
"Lady!" One Ditto snarked. "We're up to our necks with copies of your brothers!"
"Excuse us for wanting wanting to fight on equal footing!" A second Ditto added.
"Talk back to me when you get your priorities straightened out!" Sashi glared.
Sighing, Shego rubs her head. "To reiterate, I hate working with teenagers."
"Quit complaining, Shego!" Mego shouted, regrowing from small size to push out of the way from a clone's attack.
"I'm the complainer? Wow. Coming from you?" Shego chortles. "Now that is rich!"
"Hey, I never whined or moaned when I got stood up at the junior prom!" Mego retorted with a smirk. "Not that it ever happened to me, but-"
"Oh, you are just asking for it!" Shego barred her teeth at him.
"Quit being such a baby, Shego!"
"Like you were any better when you lost that old stuffed toy!"
Their constant arguing led to them being oblivious to Iota firing a sidearm blaster at them and Boone protected them with a field and blasted the weapon out of Iota's hand. "Focus, you guys! The fact that I of all people am saying that is more pathetic than you both realize!" Marco cuts a portal open to push Mego through once a Wego almost blasted him.
"Hey! I could've handled that!" Star created a magical bazooka construct that shot shooting star projectiles at more of them when they advanced. "Stop saving me!" Mego stomped his foot down. "That's my job!"
Kim had engaged with Agent Alpha, this guy was good, he timed his moves to meet hers precisely and the extra gear he had made him even more formidable. But he wasn't the only one with a bag of tricks. Wade resupplied her with new gadgets fit for her, reaching for one, she threw an object like a boomerang that plugged one of Agent Alpha's wrist blasters. He saw that it was just a comb...that started beeping making his eyes widen behind his goggles as it caused a mini-explosion that destroyed his wrist blaster. Kim throws another object, a simple hairbrush, if you could call a brush with bristles that shot out, connected to metal strings that entangled Agent Alpha. All very clever, such items would make no one pay them any heed until the trap was sprung, Agent Alpha expected no less from Kim Possible.
"How did you know we were here?" Kim demanded from the detained agent.
"W.E.E moves with the world. A half-ghost on your team gives you more firepower, but we have means to counteract ecto beings." Just as he has the means to break free, that being a small finger laser in his glove. He attempted to subdue Kim himself, but then Dittos dogpiled on him, Wego clones were nudging an unstable beam to fall down on her. She yelped when she was saved yet again by one of her teammates, this time being Rex with the Sky Slyder, he tilted right to dodge net cannons. "Now that was a close call. You good, Kim?"
"Fine. Put me down! I can still take him!"
"Slow your roll there, chica. There's plenty to go around."
"And plenty of us, too! Go Turbo! Mimic!" Max Steel made copies of his own, various mimicries of him in Speed Mode and sped across the club to take down the Wegos.
Another losing battle meant another tactical retreat, Gemini might not be pleased, but the circumstances calls for it. He throws down an orb that releases a smokescreen that scours the area. "They are retreating yet again!" Jack's voice yelled. The primary Ditto transformed into Terraspin and combined his legs and spun like a fan to create a wind to clear the place of the smoke where the Wegos were no longer standing, nor Agents Alpha or Iota.
They ran out where the Wegos collected the rest of their clones and ran off with the two W.E.E agents.
"No more running this time!" Ron shouts, slamming his fists down, creating a rockwave to cross their paths. Ron ran to Agent Alpha and punched rapidly, only to be hitting the barrier shield. "Come on! That's just cheating!" His continued attacks were actually helping Agent Alpha. The barrier was set to a shock absorbing function, the more hits it take, the more it absorbs until it reaches its limit. Once that happens, it releases a powerful wave that repelled Ron back, crashing through the walls. The agents of W.E.E ran to the shores of the island where a boat awaited them, a Wego clone was dispatched to man the turret as Iota started the engine and took off.
Terraspin and Jenny followed after them. Going Ripjaws, Ben dived underwater to swim at high speeds, he emerges with his giantt razor teeth biting and tearing the turret off. Agent Alpha equipped himself with a wrist mounted flamethrower and fired, Jenny extinguished the flame with her fire extinguisher machine and fired an object from her fingertip. She screams once she felt herself be the victim of a light EMP blast that made her fall down, but was caught by Octus, who arrived quickly. Agent Alpha typed in a code that transformed the boat into a mini-aircraft that took to the skies, dropping Rip Jaws into the waters.
They flew away, disappearing from sight.
Octus would've followed, but he turned to face Jenny's weakened form.
She takes priority.
"So, just to clarify, they got away?"
With the W.E.E agents long gone, the Legion and Team Go were to report to Dr. Director at another one of their bases after going there blindfolded, this whole super spy thing involved a lot of paranoia and security measures for some of their liking. While it was very disappointing that they couldn't get Iota, there was one small reward, Jenny planted a small tracking device on the boat before it transformed and flew away. One that Nora Wakeman designed herself and true to her stellar reputation, it not only worked well, but it was undetectable by whomever was being traced.
"Yes. But, Jenny was able to tag them with a tracker." Danny informed, not wanting it to make it seem like it was all for nothing and she was currently in the process of checking its signal after she recovered.
"Well, I suppose that's something." Dr. Director conceded. "And from what I hear, circumstances required you to attack. W.E.E's stepped up their game with using ghost-hunting equipment."
"Not to mention having two walking army factories." Zak sat near Jenny who deployed a screen showing the tracking device. "Exactly how far are they going?"
"Far enough that if I didn't plant that tracker, we wouldn't know." Jenny replied.
"Who's to say they haven't found it and are luring us into a trap?" Lance questions with a suspicious expression.
"That I'll have to say, wishful thinking."
Lance softly grunts, not satisfied with that answer.
"Okay, so the club was a disaster. But, when you think about, it could've been a lot worse and we got something out of it." Cat Noir optimistically. "Good enough reason to be fur-ling good, eh?"
"Cat..." Ladybug groaned.
"What?"
"Dude, just no." Max groaned.
"Until Jenny gets a precise location. All we can do now is wait." Jake did his waiting by meditating.
Kim and Ron could do with the waiting, it gave them the chance to reflect and figure out what went wrong during this entire mission. Their missions don't usually last this long, and the bad guys rarely get away twice. Everything going off the rails so badly is nothing new, but it was such an important assignment and they didn't get things done as they usually do, it greatly discourages them. Before the formation of the Infinity Legion, it was always just the two of them plus Rufus, taking on the world, they've recently fought battles that the others were more accustomed to, but when it's a mission that's usually theirs to handle, sharing such a task with others was still new territory for them, a reality that some of their new compatriots were starting to pick up on.
"Kim. Ron." Both saw their team leader accompanied by Ben, Ilana, Randy, Jake, Star, Max Steel, and Rex. "You guys okay?"
"We're definitely not badical." Ron grumbled.
"Not badical." Rufus pouted.
"Can't believe I was so off my game." Kim regretfully faces her teammates. "I'm sorry, guys. I just couldn't keep up."
"Keep up?" Jake's brow furrowed in confusion. "With who? Us?"
Sighing in resignation, Kim elaborated. "Before this team, I never had to worry about being left behind, not doing enough. But, look around, half this team have a superpower, so of course, most things come easy for them. Meanwhile, you got me, I just don't know how else to measure up than being a cheerleader with special skills. I didn't want to admit it before, but what can I possibly bring the table when everyone else can? I thought if I tried playing to my strengths, show that I'm not just the team cheerleader, but I couldn't even hack it in a mission with one of my enemies."
"At least you did more. Even with mystic monkey power, I'm still the idiot sidekick who messes things up." Ron said. "I might as well lose my pants just to fit the old profile."
Danny takes a seat next to Kim. "Is that why you kept going all out? Kim, just because you don't have any powers doesn't make you any less important in this team Powers alone doesn't earn someone a right to be on this team."
"No offense, Danny. But, I don't really see how. With the stuff you deal with, can't say I can imagine how you can get through it all without powers." Kim honestly says, she may have gotten along fine so far without any powers, but the others play whole different ball games compared to hers.
"Not always." Danny said, truthfully. "I gotta level with you, there are times where my human half turns out to be just as resourceful as my ghost half. Yeah, my powers make it easier when you're fighting ghosts, but my parents, Jazz, Tucker, Valerie, and Sam handle themselves really well and none of them had to step into a ghost portal."
"Same here." Ben nods. "Much as I love using the Omnitrix, I look back and I realize that I don't have to be an alien hero to be a hero. You've more than proven that fact. You lived through alien invasions, and your parents told us how you still save the world with your strength, brains, and craftiness. Some of us could learn a thing or two from you."
"You're more inspirational than you realize." Ilana smiled. "I wish I could be as capable as you without my armor. Lance was trained by the military, I only know basic self-defense."
"Instincts are on point, too." Jake adds on. "You plan out just what to do next, no matter how crazy things get. You can work with other winners, right?"
Work with other winners. There's no contest among them on who's better at saving the world nor can the competency of each memeber be measured only by sheer power alone. She's had a taste of superpowers before, but at her core, that doesn't define her as a hero, the skills she already knows are more than enough, her new friends already know it, so why should she try to prove it? Because, there's nothing for her to prove. "Heh. Work with other winners. I can do that. Why not? I mean, I can do anything, right?" She cheekily asks.
"And Ron." Max talks to the blonde. "You really think you're a screw-up?"
"Before I got my monkey mojo and after." Ron confirmed, glumly.
"Then how come you're still here?" At that point, Sashi made her presence known. "If you were as really incompetent as you believe, Ron, then you would've been toast a long time ago. The fact that you're still standing says a lot. Now, you can both take a punch and throw one, doesn't change the fact you're remarkably lucky."
"...Was that supposed to be a compliment?"
"I think what Sashi's saying is that your powers don't make you a better person." Rex clarifies for Ron. "And Ron, my man, you're already a good enough guy. You're funny, know a thing or two about nachos, and you manage to be a good boyfriend."
"Can't argue with him there." Kim smiled, pecking Ron on the cheek.
"Power are cool and all, but don't sell yourself short, Ron." Max said, patting his shoulder. "You got your own strengths."
"My own strengths..." Ron nodded with a smile. "Yeah. Yeah, you guys are right! Oh man, is this what having teammates lifting me up feels like? 'Cause I could get used to it!"
"Shame that some people don't seem to get that."
Case in point, Team Go.
"I knew it. I knew you two would mess it up! Can't believe you couldn't focus just once!" Shego bellowed at her brothers. "No wonder that director lady made you work with Kimmy and her kiddie squad! If you had handled this by yourselves, it would've been worse mess than the club! But what else can I expect from you two?!"
"Nag, nag, nag." Mego opened and closed his palm repeatedly. "Honestly, why are you even still here? If being around us is such a chore, then just leave, it was all you were good for."
"That. That right there is what I mean. Your whole 'everything's about me' deal and of course, our dear big brother always trying to do things by his hero book." She'd expect Hego to argue back but he didn't, in fact, he actually seemed to stop and consider her words. Her confusion at this was interrupted by more of Mego's self centered words.
"Not my fault the big dolt's a hack of a leader. You just can't accept that I would've made a better leader or that I'm a better-"
"Alright enough!" This constant in-fighting amongst the siblings had gone on long enough and Kim was having no more of it anymore. "Look, you three, family drama is my least kind of drama and this is why! Your little brothers are in danger and you can't just let things go for even one lousy second?! I'm not saying you should just forgive and forget just like that, but at least put whatever issues you have aside long enough for us to rescue Wego and stop Gemini! I know for a fact that you're better than this!" she pointed to Shego. In all their years of rivalry, Kim at least admits that Shego's one of the more saner people she knows. She then rounded on the two brothers. "And as for you two! You're supposed to be a hero!" he pointed to Mego. "And you're supposed to be a brother, not just their leader!" she looked to Hego. "Right now, this isn't just about working right as heroes or who's getting the spotlight, it's about being a family and saving those twins. Either you realize that or just stay out of the way."
Kim brushes past them and Team Go followed her retreating form before looking at one another and looking aside with uncomfortable expressions.
"Glad someone finally said something." Cat Noir remarked, rubbing his ears.
"Guys!" Zak and Jenny gathered everyone together to hear the good news. "Jenny's tracker got a hit!"
The robot girl took over by showing them a screen of a digital map where there was a blinking red dot. "The tracker stopped directly over the pacific ocean. I detect no island in that area, so it can only mean one thing."
"An underwater base." Kim surmised.
"Classic." Penn remarked.
"Okay, so we know where they are. But, we can't let this end the same way it did before. With them escaping." Danny says, determined to put this mission to an end. "We go in. We go in making sure all escape plans are blocked and useless to them. More importantly, we have to free those twins from whatever mind control they're in."
"Apologies for my abruptness. But, that is a subject I wish to discuss." Octus politely interrupted and showed his own screen. "Team Go. Your superhuman abilities originated from being exposed to a unique meteorite. My sensors are designed to detect all forms of energy signatures within range and they took note of your unique energy signatures that you emit when activating your powers."
"Ah. You mean our Go Team Glow!"
Octus's Newton eyes blinked at that declaration with a head tilt. "...Yes. That. Your younger brothers possess the ability of self duplication. Can their clones also repeat the process?"
"As a matter of fact, yes." Hego answered.
"There a point to this, Mr. Roboto?"
Mego's little jab made Jenny grumble of annoyance and punched an open fist as she advanced, but Cat Noir held her back with Ninja to allow Octus to continue. "There is one key difference between the originals and the clones. While the clones can also duplicate and emit the same color aura as the rest of you, initial scans show that it's not as potent as yours, mainly due to being duplicates."
Zak's fingers were on his chin. "That makes sense. The clones themselves come from the meteor energy that gave the originals their powers so it's noticeably weaker by comparison."
"Can we get the nerd talk out of the way, please?" Shego rudley says.
"This is actually quite crucial." Octus tells her, a little miffed. "Each time we encountered Wego, every one of them had the same weaker meteor signature as opposed to yours. That wouldn't be the case if the originals were among them which brings me to this conclusion. The original Wego twins were never there at each time we fought the clones."
"What?!" Team Go were the ones that were more shocked than anyone.
"The twins were never there?!" Hego asked, wanting to make sure.
"If that's true, then where were they?!" Shego demanded.
"That is unclear. But, now that Gemini's base of operations has been identified, it would be a fair assessment to say that they are there. As to why and how they are making clones for Gemini to use. I am afraid that is unclear." Octus regretfully says.
"We'll have to find that out for themselves." Danny motions them to huddle up. "So, here's the plan..."
One would say an underwater base was cliché.
But, Gemini was a man who had an appreciation for the classics.
His base's cloaking machine made it practically invisible to sensors, specifically GJ's. Most of his mean and his organizations technology was present as well, the boss himself was listening to the report given to him by Agent Alpha on the earlier incident. "I am deeply disappointed, Agent Iota." Gemini sent a glare towards said agent with Pepe growling at him. "You are usually more careful with your business dealings on my behalf. Had we not perfected the anti ghost technology, you would be in a Global Justice interrogation room right now. But do not think the fact that you're not mean you're not in trouble." he pressed a button.
Iota screamed once a hole opened up underneath him, making him fall in.
Agent Alpha was the only agent who didn't shudder when that happened. No other agent has ever forgotten the first time their superior used such a method on them. "Sir. With two interferences of our operations and with the failure to procure Dr. Porter, I recommend we suspend all further operations, our enemy organization was one thing, but I don't believe we have the capacity to repel Kim Possible or new allies."
"Nonsense!" Gemini snapped. "Agent Alpha. You have proven yourself to be much more competent compared to the rest of my agents, but don't forget that at the end of the day, it is I who decides what's best for W.E.E! Those children that interloped won't stop my plans to-" Alarms started blaring, startling Pepe into a frenzy. "Find out what the problem is! Can't you see it is upsetting Pepe?!"
Agent Theta was the first to report. "Sir! Global Justice submarines are approaching!"
Pepe became even more crazy. "You are not helping in calming Pepe down and that is impossible! Our cloaking should've hidden us! How did Dr. Director find us?!"
"Good question..." Agent Alpha mused.
Rumbling could be heard as small rubble fell on to of Gemini's head. "Our shields are powering down! And our weapon systems are powering down!"
"How is that possible?!"
An excellent question. One can say it was a simple malfunction in the most inconvenient of times, but in this instance, it was the work of expert hackers who broke down the undersea base's systems. The Infinity Legion, Team Go, and most surprisingly, Dr. Director herself were in a separate Global Justice submarine with a specialized invisibility function. A quick survey of the base found them an entrance inside, in addition to the shields and the weaponry, they also disabled any alarms that would alert Gemini to their presence. "Everyone out." the hatch opened and Danny flew out, leading everyone. "Your subs are doing their jobs, Dr. Director. Gemini's putting all his focus on getting this place up and running to fight them off."
"Quite the brilliant suggestion to use them as a distraction, Mr. Fenton." Dr. Director praised.
"No offense, but why come along?" Rex asked. "You don't think we can handle this?"
"Far from it, Mr. Salazar. Gemini and I have a reckoning and I won't let him slip by us a third time." The head of Global Justice declared with utmost seriousness.
"Settle whatever old business with him after we get the twins." Shego snarked.
"Good news is that they're not far." Zak looked to the schematic map of the base. "Thanks to Octus, we can now tell which Wegos are clones and which are the originals and according to this, they're being held in a close off area, follow this path and we'll find them."
"The submarines are doing their part by distracting him from outside his base. Perhaps more distractions are needed, but inside." Jack suggested.
"I get what you're thinking, Jack." Jenny's shouldr cannons were deployed. "I'm in."
"One team for assault, one for getting Wego." Danny nods in approval. "Sounds good."
Back with Gemini, he was calming Pepe down as the GJ forces continued pushing forward with their assault on their base. "Are those blasted shields back online yet?! We cannot handle anymore damage!" The head of an evil organization asked, slamming his metal hand down as his agents scrambled to get things in order. "I cannot even imagine things becoming more complicated as they are now!"
The doors were blasted wide open. "How's it hanging, bad guys?" Jake's jovial voice was heard as he flew above in dragon form. "This is the Am Drag bringing on the fire with his peeps!" Fire rained down as his friends joined in the fray. Ben had gone Lodestar and began moving everything metal in the place, which was just about everything there. Rex found the nearest console and manipulated the tech with his nanites to make all the systems in the base go completely nuts for the techies to handle, he caused more damage by attacking with the Slam Cannon once W.E.E agents started their attack on him. Ilana, Octus, Max and Jenny were flying with Jake, firing Turbo blasts, beams, electric currents, and shoulder projectiles. Ashi shapeshifted into a giant serpent and coiled agents into her trap while striking lightning from her eyes. Ron charged with Rufus joining him on battle cries, stomping mystic powered stomps to the ground Finally, Danny charged with four of his created clones to surround Gemini with hands glowing and he cowered in fear.
"Agent Alpha! Protect Pepe and myself!" Gemini called, but only found an empty spot where his most competent agent once was. "Agent Alpha? Where are you?!"
Danny placed Kim in charge of a group to search and rescue the Wego Twins. So far, they haven't encountered any clones and the map closed in on the original twins. "Zak, Ladybug, Cat Noir, El Tigre, Mego, scout ahead." Kim instructed. Mego actually kept his mouth shut as he rode along in miniature form on Cat Noir's shoulder.
"Man, this bites. Why couldn't we have been included in the troublemaking distraction." El Tigre complained. "I'm great at those."
"I feel ya, but there's no turning back now, little cat." Cat Noir said as W.E.E agents were standing guard.
Ladybug and El Tigre launched a Yo-Yo and chain claw to their feet and dragged them away and Cat Noir hits others with his staff, knocking them out quickly before they could call for backup. "Check for any credentials. Might come in handy." It wasn't a fight, but it was pickpocketing, one of Puma Loco's lessons being used against an evil group, might not be what the old man had in mind, but it works. Only one of them held a unique keycard and they followed the map to where the original Wegos were.
"Cat, keycard please." The masked cat handed it to Kim who slid on the panel and they heard gears turning and sounds of beeping andt he doors opened for them. Team Go gasped as they witnessed Wego-the original twins-clad in their team uniforms sleeping inside capsules that were connected to wires, they wore helmets that blinked red and all were connected to two separate domes. W.E.E scientists and agents were taken by surprise when they saw the unannounced visitors. Shego shouted in rage as she unleashed herself to the agents moving to stop them in their tracks, melting their weapons with her green blasts.
A dimensional portal opened above them and it rained down the Legion who fought them as a scientist ran for a lever and once it's pulled down, the Wego twins grunted in pain as their powers became forcefully activiated as their read auras powered up. The other domes glowed the same aura and new Wego clones were created. Cat Noir spun his staff to deflect the clones jumping at him, his Ladybug partner flung her Yo-Yo weapon with Boone providing covering fire beside her. Penn and Sashi flew over to the capsules to free the Wego twins, but jetpack wearing clones intercepted them, Mego had previously jumped from Cat Noir and onto Penn, now he was going for his brothers, re-growing as he went closer, but a metal cable trapped him. Jack and Marco cut him free as Hego tried smashing the capsules open, but was shocked electrically upon contact.
Kim pushed through the clones and W.E.E agents, but was held back with impressive force of the clones' ever growing numbers, she reached into her pocket to pull out a nail filer and threw it at the capsules. It started beeping rapidly and caused a mini-explosion that interrupted the cloning process and caused the twins to stir awake. Another entrance blocked by large doors was then opened automatically, they saw Agent Alpha being the culprit, showing Gemini what was happening.
"Kim Possible! I should have known!"
"Sir, it's what I warned you abo-"
"Not now, Agent Alpha!" Gemini spotted the green lady. "Shego? Is Drakken involved in this, too? Oh, that is rich! His reputation had already suffer blows, this will topple it!" he laughs.
"Not wise to tick me off when Im already angry enough as it is!" Shego sneered. "Just go ahead and tell us your big bad plan, already. Pretty sure we're at that point."
"You really think he'll just blurt his entire plan just like that?" Lance incredulously ask. "His organization's moniker is laughable, but I doubt he'll just-"
"Very well! Sine you asked so nicely!"
"...Now you're just kidding me."
Lance's eyes did not deceive him, Gemini was indeed going to do just that. "I have been sticking to the shadows for a long while. Not out of cowardice, mind you, but because I realized that one can do his work best from the shadows. In that time, I began to think of a brand new approach when enacting my genius plots. A clone army! Where incompetent agents and obsolete drones fail, clones succeed! An endless supply of foot soldiers that come endlessly and respond to my command! Rather than waste time in doing the process, there are two prime specimens living in the world!" he gestures to Wego. "Kidnap those two and I can have a whole army in no time! One to carry all orders such as kidnapping scientists and force them to do my bidding!"
"Like Vivian Porter."
"Precisely. To make it so that the world knows its biggest threat that is W.E.E, I need expertise like hers to further that mission!"
Dr. Director chortled. "That's your big plan? To think my guys were actually afraid you were cooking up something dangerous. But, it's just you being lazy, Sheldon."
"Sheldon?" The Ninja repeats.
"It's smarter than anything you could ever think of, Betty." Gemini retorts.
"Betty?" Ladybug tilts her head.
The eyepatch wearing woman crosses her arms. "Give me a break. You couldn't finish that bike you got when we were eight for three weeks!"
"Says the girl who didn't work on her middle school science project!"
"That was because you kept barging into my room, stealing all my supplies!"
"Liar! I was at a friend's house!"
"You never had friends back then!"
"I never told them about you! Why be pitied for sharing a roof with an immature little girl?!"
"Don't act like I didn't suffer! I still remember how you drove Jeremy Anderson away!"
"I personally did him a favor! It made us even after Melissa!"
"She didn't like-like you and you knew it!"
The Legion and Team Go stared at this back and forth argument with apt confusion and turned to Kim and Ron for an explanation. "Oh, right, Guess she didn't fill you in on that. Those two are twin siblings. Fraternal." Kim clarified.
"Get out of town." Penn gaped.
"It's true."
"Huh. You know, I had a feeling." Jake commented.
Danny nods in agreement. "Same. Minute they started firing shots, I sensed some sibling tension right there."
As Betty and Sheldon continued their endless argument, Team Go felt the most awkward as seeing this exchange between siblings was eerily familiar to them in many ways. "Wow. They're really going at it." Mego observed.
"Yep." Shego nodded.
"Gotta tell you both, it's weird seeing this on the observing side for once. Really puts things in perspective." Mego scratches his nape. "From this angle, it seems-"
"Petty and sad?" Hego said.
"...Yeah, pretty much."
"Enough!" Gemini roars. "Interloping on my grand schemes will not be tolerated! Granted, you've thrown considerable wrenches into my plan, but I will not fall so easily! Prepare to face the full wrath of W.E.E! Are the cloning machines still active?"
"Unfortunately, it's main capacitor has been damaged." a scientist meekly answered. "It can't take any more damage, otherwise, it'll completely shut down, along with the mental suppressors that keeps the twins vulnerable to control."
"Are the electric countermeasures still working?"
"Er-yes."
"Then what can these children do?"
Amazingly, Ron was the one to come up with an idea, an idea that is actually pretty good. "Ben! Use that absorbing guy! Plug-Man!"
"It's Feedback, but I get what you're saying, Ron." Lodestar tapped his symbol, becoming the watch's sample of a Conductioid. He dashed towards the cloning machine and plugged in, absorbing the power. Not only did the shock go away, but so did the machine and the suppressor's power. All that was left was for Ron to jump forward with two fists reached back and colliding with the capsules, breaking the glass and freeing the twins from their imprisonment, Shego caught both of them before they could hit the ground. The freedom of their minds made their created clones loose their footing in a haze and disappeared as fast as they first appeared.
Wego-1's eyes blinked open. "Wh-What-"
"-happened?" Wego-2 finished.
Both twins looked and saw they were in their arms of their big sister. "Shego?"
"No!" Gemini glared heavily at Ron. "You fool! You're just the bumbling sidekick! Since when can you actually do something?!"
"Since I put the hurt on those alien invaders!" Ron smirked, Rufus pumping his fist in the air with a cheer.
"It's over, Sheldon." Dr. Director declares.
"I refuse to concede, Betty!" Gemini raises his prosthetic hand and dorsal fins sprout up and the fingers launch like missiles, everyone dodged when they nearly hit them. Kim and Dr. Director jumped through to reach up to where Gemini was and fought him off. "Always butting into my business and never apologizing for it!" he said to his sister.
"Like you were any better when you read my diary!"
Gemini was ready to throw another retort when Agent Alpha came in. "Ah, finally. Now, the tables will surely-" In an unexpected move, Agent Alpha sweeps his leg under his supposed superior's legs. "Agent Alpha, what is the meaning of this?!"
Smirking, Agent Alpha removed his helmet and visor, making Gemini, Kim,, Ron, and Rufus gasp. "Will?!"
Will Du.
One of Global Justice's top agents and apparently, was in undercover.
"Dr. Director, ma'am. Apologies, but I felt that the time came for the charade to come to an end." He told his real superior.
"It's no problem, Agent Du. I'd say you're right on that front."
"Will?" Kim shook out of her stupor. "It was you the whole time?"
"There will be time to explain later, Kim." Dr. Director told her. "Right now, I believe little Sheldon needs a timeout."
Gritting his teeth, Gemini pulled once last card, he pushed a button and an escape pod enveloped him. "As long as I remain free, W.E.E shall rise again!" the pod shot through a hatch and travelled through underwater, past the GJ submarines, holding Pepe closely. "Just you wait, Betty. One day, the worldwide evil empire will topple your pathetic Global Justice! Oh! Sorry Pepe!" He noticed that his pet didn't react at all to his little slip of the tongue. "Pepe?" Surprise came to him when he saw that it wasn't his dog.
It was Rufus. "Hello!"
"Again?!" Gemini shouted in pain when the naked mole rat bit down on his only organic hand. One more surprise came as nearby seaweed began growing exponentially, gaining sentience and wrapped around the pod tightly. "Now what?!" Another submarine appeared, one that was piloted by the henchmen of a plant controlling blue mad scientist.
"This, Gemini, is why I am Kim Possible's primary archenemy!" Drakken's voice announced.
Bueno Nacho
No one expected Dr. Drakken of all people to be the one to pull a dramatic last-minute save to stop Gemini from escaping, resulting in the day being saved and the bad guy getting put in Global Justice custody. With the mission over and the Wego twins saved, this called for some celebrating and Ron had the perfect idea, Bueno Nacho in Middleton. "Celebratory nacos, everyone! Dig in!" Ron cheers, placing a plate of his brilliant creation on the table for everyone to eat.
"Nachos and tacos mixed into one." Rex shoved it in his mouth, savoring the taste. "How did no one in my universe thought of this before? Bobo would love this!"
"Tell me about it." Ben agreed.
Even Jack and Ashi found it satisfying. "Different, yet enjoyable." Jack noted.
"Can't call it healthy, though." Ashi gave her own opinion. "But, not like I'd eat it everyday."
"Ron and Plagg already have that covered, Ashi." Penn chuckled.
Plagg popped out of a mountain of nacho cheese. "I'm in heaven." he swooned as he and Rufus swam in it.
At another table, Dr. Director was conversing with Danny and Kim with Will Du in attendance. "Agent Du's been in deep cover in W.E.E for a long while now. His mission was to discover any current and future plans Gemini had in store." Dr. Director explained. "Sheldon always made sure all his agents were easy to track and he was never taken to the underwater base until recently. When your team became involved, I had him keep his cover until the time was right for him to intervene."
"I thought "Agent Alpha" seemed more incompetent than your standard henchman." Kim mused. "Still, would've been nice to be kept in the loop."
"In this line of work, keeping secrets helps to stop people like Gemini. I suppose I should be thankful I didn't spot that tracking device." Will Du replied. "Even so, I can't say enjoyed having to take orders from him, especially when he had me bathe that dog of his." he shuddered.
"Heh, guess you made enough sacrifices." Danny's joking demeanor became a bit more serious. "Still, we may not work for Global Justice or any of the other organizations, I like to think there could be more trust here and there."
"Trust is something not to be taken lightly, Mr. Fenton. But, I do see your point." Dr. Director sat up with Will as they picked up their trenchcoats and left. "Until next time, Infinity Legion."
"Man. Spy stuff seems more intense than superhero stuff." Danny looked Kim's way. "Don't know how you deal with that."
"You learn to adapt." Kim cheekily answers, earnign a chuckle out of her team leader. "You were right before. I can get used to this whole new dynamic with you guys. Hard to argue with the results. Helps that you have my parents' stamps of approval."
The Possibles and the friends of Ron and Kim were also there. "Kimmie told us how you all handle yourselves and it is so good to know she has capable friends watching out for her." Mrs. Possible told them.
"She does that for us." Zak smiles. "You raised a pretty awesome girl, Mr. and Mrs. Possible." the others voiced their agreement.
"Hey, if toy want, you could meet some of our folks." Penn offered. "My dad would love to meet you guys."
"Might just take you up on that, son." Mr. Possible replied.
Octus, Jenny, and Steel talked with Vivian and Felix. "A floating hover-wheelchair? Quite the ingenious invention."
"That's my mom for ya."
"Think you could get me your mom's autograph. I'm sorta a huge fan." Vivian asked Jenny.
"Sure."
Vivian casted glance towards Lance and reddens a bit. "...And maybe your friend's number. I'm thinking to trying out human boys for once."
Lance himself tuned out Monique imparting wisdom to Ilana. "Going retro is nice and all, but you gotta add a little modernization, girl."
Randy, Jake, and Max listened to tips from Zita. "So, you trade the talon arrow for a griffon's satchel?" Randy clarified.
"Duh. A talon arrow's in high demand at the Elven village."
"Of course it is!" Jake slapped his forehead. "Spud and I have been stuck with that level in Everlot for weeks."
"Same with Berto."
Kim smiles at all the interactions. "Yeah. This doesn't seem so bad."
"Amen to that, KP." Ron then nudged them and motioned to Team Go.
"So, you're leaving again?" Wego asked Shego.
"I only joined in because I was needed." Shego looked as her little brothers become downcast and kneeled down to their level. "But, that doesn't mean I wouldn't do it again in a heartbeat."
"We know, it's just..."
"...it felt nice, us being together while it lasted."
Hego clears his throat. "Now, boys. Shego made her choice and well, we have to respect that decision." Shego had make sure she wasn't imagining things, because it looked like Hego was actually on her side.
"Shame. We really did good out there. Together, you know." Mego adds and now he was giving credit to others now.
Now, this was just weird. Nevertheless, she gave an impressed light smile and playfully punched their shoulders while giving the twins one last hug before she went to Drakken. "I'm surprised you actually made it in time."
"You underestimate my impressive ability of being punctual, Shego! That, and the directions you gave me also helped."
"She's not the only one impressed." Kim said with a hand on her hip. "This mean you two will tone down on the evil from now on?"
"How dare you, Kim Possible?!" Drakken glared. "I only came to your assistance for Shego! Do not mistake my charity, for I shall remind you and the whole world that Dr. Drakken is still as evil as can be!"
"You came for Shego, didn't you?" Ron teased. "Doesn't sound evil to me."
"Tha-That-well, she'd do it for me, so I might as well do the same. That's it." he unconvincingly said.
Shaking her head with a smile, Shego dragged him along. "Come on, already. And Kimmy, next time, don't think I'll be so quick to help out. I still got a rep to uphold."
"Whatever you say." Kim rolled her eyes.
Ron offered his hand. "Shall we, milady?"
Giggling, she took it. "After you, good sir."
Moments like these are what made her feel like being a part of this team is worth it.
Note: To avoid confusion, Phantom Busters was revised with changes to Sam.
