And have I mentioned how amazing that second op is? every frame is so good I wanted to cry! btw for the late upload I should be able to go back to my usual every other day update after next week

CHAPTER 8: CHOCOLATE
"Child, the sun is almost at its peak. Ye must wake up" Rin hesitantly and slowly tried to open her eyes only to see a plastered Kaede by her bedside
"Kaede-sama?" she rubbed her eye
"I was made to believe that ye were due to depart with Lord Sesshomaru early, was it not?" the young lady's eyes widened at the old miko's sentence. In the following second, the girl managed to quickly jumped on her feet and frantically scanned every inch of the hut
"Say, Lady Kaede… When did I get here?" she feared that what happened last night might have all been just a dream. Her, watching the great demon that had protected her for almost her whole life under the illuminating moonlight. Him, finally saying the words that she had long yearned for. Them at last admitting the comfort they both felt being in each other's arms and… that kiss.
Her hand subconsciously travelled to her lips. Reminiscing the events of last night. It could not possibly be a dream as she remembered it all too well, right? She could still recall how his lips softly brushed against hers and the overwhelming feeling that came with it. Pondering if it really happened, she stood there in silence, impatiently waiting for the old lady's answer
"Is something the matter, Rin?" Kaede gave Rin a puzzled look
"I mean, last night or maybe this morning, did Lord Sesshomaru brought be back here?"
"No, my child. Ye have not left since ye came back with Kagome yesterday"
"Ohh… Uhm…" she took few steps towards the make shift door still taken aback by the high priestess' statement "I must search for Lord Sesshomaru" the words have not completely left her mouth and yet she did not hesitate to fly out of the safety of her home
That's absurd! Impossible! Rin was certain she was not dreaming. No. It must have been real and the old lady Kaede just didn't notice it as she was still deep in her slumber when she went out for some fresh air. Rin was determined to find the demon lord and ask for herself.
"Finally!" a familiar voice caused the travel of her foot to halt "we haven't even left and yet you're already causing Lord Sesshomaru delays. What an inconsiderate human"
"Master Jaken!" Rin rushes to the toad demon's side "I'm relieved you're still here!"
"Ohh! Believe me, if it were up to me, I've left a long time ago"
"Where might Lord Sesshomaru be?"
"Most definitely far away from this stinking human village, I'd say"
The girl only smiled at his insults knowing her adoptive father's true character "In that case, we should probably catch up to him"
"Very well"
The duo almost set foot out of the village's arch when they heard Kagome calling, followed by her hanyou husband's inaudible voice
"Rin! Wait up!"
"Kagome-sama, back so soon?"
"Here, take this with you!" the priestess gave the young lady a sack of other worldly consumables and Rin did not hesitate to take a peek of what's inside "I also included your favorite snack" she winked
"Chocolates?" Rin's eyes were glowing with delight
"Of course Rin! I know you loved them so much"
"Thank you so much!"
"What is this chocolates that you speak of?" the smaller demon inquired
"Ohh! It's this special snack from Lady Kagome's world. I've had it a couple of times before but couldn't keep it longer than a few days as it tends to melt because of the heat" she picked out a small bar like figure wrapped in colorful paper from the sack "try it master Jaken!" without thinking twice, the young lady unwrapped a piece and handed it to the little demon and he instantly threw it in his mouth
"It's very sweet" Jaken stated
"do you want some more, master Jaken?" Rin asked while also eating some
The little demon nodded
"I can't wait for Lord Sesshomaru to try it as well" Rin happily handed Jaken another one
"Uhmm… Rin, I'm not sure if that's a good idea"
"Hmmm?" the young lady gave the miko a confused look
"You see… in my world, dogs are not allowed to eat chocolates as my people believed that it is poison to them and that is why I've never let Inuyasha have it before"
"Ohh…" Rin looked down at her feet feeling sorry for the dogs who weren't allowed to have a taste this delicious snack. No. What was she thinking? She nearly offered her beloved man poison! When the great lord of the west suddenly appeared behind the unknowing group
"Am I being underestimated by a human girl?" they all turned to the source of this cold deep voice
"Lord Sesshomaru!"
"Onii-san!"
"You're making it a habit of yours to pop up out of nowhere" Inuyasha snarled
"My body itself contains poison" he continued
The young priestess recalled the incident with one of the band of seven, Mukotsu. How the great dog demon was not at the slightest bothered by his mixture of poisons. Even his strongest creation did not make the daiyoukai flinch.
"but onii-san…"
"Let us put this poison to test" Sesshomaru proudly dared
"Oi Lord Fluffy! Are you deaf? Or stupid enough to risk your life for a human delicacy?" Inuyasha was also curious himself but hated the thought of this little experience back firing and killing his older brother as a result. They haven't had the best relationship but they treat each other with decent mutual respect over the years and as much as he hates to admit it, he likes having his half-brother as an ally. Sesshomaru is his only living blood relative and that must mean something.
"Give it to me" the lord of the west has always been intimidating, effortlessly sending shivers down their spines
"But milord…" Rin protested seeing that even Jaken was wearing a worried look in his face
Sesshomaru turned to face the concerned young lady. She does genuinely cares for him and there is no doubting that
"In one condition Lord Sesshomaru!" knowing how stubbornly proud this daiyoukai is, she had to quickly come up with an solution and the moment she had a lightbulb eureka idea…
"What is it Rin?" the great dog demon softly asked as he always gave Rin the chance to express her concerns and opinions while Inuyasha, Kagome and Jaken were left dumb founded and couldn't believe that the young lady was actually allowing him to consume poison
"Try it in a very very very small amount first" she finally blurted out emphasizing on the word very more than the last one
"I guess that's acceptable" Kagome sighed
"Good thinking Rin! That way, I will also know if I may have a taste" Inuyasha smiled and threw a supportive fist
"I, Sesshomaru accept your proposition"
"Well then" she gulped. Could she actually do this? And in front of numerous frying eyes, both their friends and bystanders. Her mind was instantly filled with what if's but she ultimately decided that this is worth the shot "close your eyes milord" she couldn't bear the thought of him watching how this awkward experiment will unfold
Ever the obedient dog that he is, Sesshomaru did as instructed
Another gulp as she let the chocolate melt in her mouth. Comprehending how bold this plan of hers really is, her heart began to beat way faster than she liked. Too late to turn back now.
His reaction to this will prove the legitimacy of last night' events
Sesshomaru could hear her heart beating faster and faster, her scent getting strong and strong and the distance between them dissolving into nothingness. The anticipation made his body tense but being the cold hearted demon that he is, he refused to show any signs of curiosity and impatiently waited for this so called poison.
The sound of people gasping filled the air as both of Rin's hands found their way to the vicious demon's cheeks and…
His eyes flew opened wanting to see the sight for himself. Rin. His Rin was passionately kissing him. Somehow, it felt different than the one they shared last night. Perhaps it was the intensity or perhaps it was the thought of people watching them. Whatever it is, one thing is for certain. Rin was claiming him and declaring that he is hers to keep.
She bit his lip
Sesshomaru remained as is and did not return the favor causing her to stop and feel ashamed. Terror started to fill her mind seeing how her beloved demon lord's eyebrows narrowed and was about to pull herself away when he wrapped his arms around her waist.
With their eyes locking into a soulful gaze, their faces still less than inches apart and Rin's hands still resting between of his cheeks and jaw, this time, the daiyoukai leaned in forward to slowly and gently brush his tongue along her bottom lip then took her breath away.
For moments like this, he did not give a care in the world who was watching. It only mattered that Rin was safe and happy in his arms. Only after sensing that Rin needed a break to breathe did he finally let her go.
Realizing what an spectacle of a display they were, Rin's face became the shade closes to Inuyasha's cloak of the fire rat
"I… ugh…" she tried her best to relearn her words seeing how the people's jaws were hanging
"Wow! Rin, that was…"
"Did she just…"
"Even I would never…"
"How dare you put Lord Sesshomaru through-" Jaken shake his head in surprise
They all knew this would happen but seeing it for themselves was something else.
"Don't be ridiculous" the daiyoukai cut off their chatter "I barely tasted the poison" he turned his back and started to walk away "Rin, Jaken were leaving"
"Wait for me, milord" the little imp rushed to his side
Everyone, including Rin was still speechless but Sesshomaru didn't seem bothered nor did he looked like he acknowledged the event as anything out of the ordinary
"Rin…" Inuyasha could finally mutter
Kagome could only comically blinked
"K-K-Kagome-sama, I… ugh… I think Rin has a lot of explaining to do" still blushing, she turned to where the demon lord run off to "Thanks again for everything!"
"when you come back, we will plan for the wedding" Kagome smiled
Rin nodded "we will be back soon" she then started to slowly walk towards their direction. Still thinking about that kiss and how she should start the conversation when she finally reaches her travelling companions.
"You're not gonna quit on that wedding thing, aren't you?" Inuyasha sighed
"Nope" the priestess gladly declared
"Wait! He survived! So does that mean I could have chocolates too?" Inuyasha tried his luck
"I don't think so" Kagome giggled
She kissed him. In front of the whole village no less! Rin knows it all too well that words travels unbelievably fast and people would probably talk about how scandalous that display was. Maybe along the lines of how unworthy she is of a great demon lord or maybe how unworthy he is of her kindness and innocence. Either way, she did not regret her actions and is only concerned how her beloved lord would react.
"Milord?" she finally caught up to them
"What is it, Rin?"
"Ummm… forget it" she awkwardly patted AhUn's tail
They don't have to talk about it, do they? He doesn't seem to mind at all so why should she be bothered? She sighed under her breathe knowing that this would be a long awkward journey to the western palace.

A/N: This story was supposed to be 10 chapters long but seeing how Yashahime progresses gives me more ideas xD forgive me! Can't wait for ep 15! Anyways... what do you guys think of this chapter? I actually thought about this one while playing with my dog :D
