Robby pov

We walk into the room where Bellamy and Murphy are both cuffed to the wall. Finn grabs a pair of pliers and breaks Bellamy's cuffs and I get a pair and head over to free Murphy against my better judgement.

"Hmm so ur still pissed at me?" Murphy says dickishly smiling as I break his cuffs off.

"Shut up Murphy," I say trying not to punch him.

"Robby, what the hell you doing?" Finn asks in disbelief.

"He's coming with us," I answer.

"No way!" Finn remarks.

"He's been to the grounder prison camp," Bellamy says.

"He's right, ok? I can take you there," Murphy says trying to convince Finn.

"Hey Sterling just signaled. Someone's coming," Monroe says.

Finn pauses then just shrugs and we leave.

"How do we plan on breaking out?" Murphy asks in his sarcastic tone.

"Simple. We walk out the front gate," I answer curling my lip into a smile.

"Sounds good to me," Monroe answers.

We walk out into the dark forest surrounded by the night sky. The first thing I see is a flashlight in my face.

"You're late," says the voice of Abby griffin who is standing there with Nathan Miller's dad.

"Bellamy decided to bring company," Finn says, obviously referring to Murphy.

"He's been to the grounder's camp. He can take us there," I respond.

"Alright," Abby says handing Finn a gun.

"Here. Find my son. His name is Nathan Miller," Miller's dad says handing Bellamy an automatic rifle.

I remember Miller's dad was the guard that arrested me. He very calm when they found me sitting in the middle of the room with cards and money strewn about. I sent Miller, Finn, and Miller's new boyfriend, Bryan out through the vents when we heard the knocks. I still have no clue how they found out.

Flashback

A year and a 8 months ago.

"I win again, Finny. Royal flush," I say slapping my cards down on the table.

"I still don't get it. At least you show effort in something other than spray painting walls and chasing girls," Miller says smiling and shaking his head.

"Imagine how much trouble we'd get in if they found out two guards were gamboling with us," Finn says.

"They're too stupid and oblivious to know anything," I say shrugging.

"What would your dad say?" Bryan asks leaning against Miller on the couch.

"I don't know. Probably give me some lecture and say "Robby I'm not mad, just disappointed"" I say making quotes with my fingers and mocking my dad's mannerisms.

They all let out a chuckle.

"All right one more game then we need to head out," Miller says.

"Cool," Finn remarks.

I'm in the middle of shuffling when we hear two loud knocks on the door.

"Guards. Open up!" A man shouts.

"No. No!" Miller shouts.

My blood runs cold and I sit there helplessly knowing that we're screwed.

"Robby, what do we do?" Finn asks in a panic shaking me by the shoulders, snapping me out of my funk.

"That's my dad," Miller says, his voice breaking.

"Nate, listen, I lov—" Bryan begins to say.

I look around frantically before I see it. One large air vent that could get us to safety.

"The vent," I say and go to remove it.

"Five seconds before we break the door down," the guard shouts pounding on the door.

"We have to move, now!" Miller says.

"Bry, you first," he says as Bryan climbs in the vent.

Miller goes, then Finn. I am about to climb in, but I hear the guard yelling to open the door again as they begin trying to break it down. I know that if he breaks the door down soon, they'll see the open vent and catch all of us.

"Okay! Give me a second," I say squeezing my eyes shut. I gave myself up, but I was able to buy time for the others.

"Rob, what the hell?" Finn asks looking horrified.

"Go. I had to buy y'all some time. Promise me you'll be there for Raven," I say to him.

"Robby, I'm not—" he starts to say.

"Promise me!" I say loudly.

Finn looks at me with a broken expression before saying "I promise."

I nod and he climbs through and I close the vent. If I knew that those were the last words I would hear from him for the next year and a half, I would've said more. I slowly begin to walk toward the door, but it breaks down and I instantly put my hands up. Miller's dad walks in and gives me a sympathetic look. The others need time to get as far away from this room and back to Mecha before the guards catch up with them. I pick up a loose pipe.

"Stop!" One of them shouts as he points his gun at me.

I'm breathing rapidly mostly because I'm absolutely terrified, but also because I want to look like a scared kid so they'll take it easy and feel bad for me.

"Weapons down," Miller's dad says calmly.

He slowly begins to walk toward me with his hands held in front of him. I flinch and hold the pipe up which causes him to stop.

"Son. I know your scared. Please come with us. We do not want to hurt you I promise," he says slowly and calmly.

"Really? y'all are just gonna float me," I hiss as my eyes water from panic.

"From what I know Mr. Kane, you are underage. You'll get a review in a few months and I promise, I will vouch for you," he says once again in a sympathetic and calming tone.

"Why? You owe me nothing. I'm just another punk kid who broke the law," I say as tears leak out of my eyes.

"Because I have a son your age. It kills me when the council floats a young 18 year old kid for making a simple mistake," he says.

"Please. Just put down the pipe and walk with me. I can't promise that itl all be okay, but I can promise that I will do what I can to make sure you don't need to fear me and can trust me," he says and holds out his hand to me.

I break and lower the pipe as two guards place me in cuffs. I wipe my eyes with my shoulder and remain stone faced as they lead me away. I keep my head down as the walk me down the halls and to Jaha's office. I bet Wellsey will throw a party when he finds out his old man locked me up. Well he would if he had any friends. I say nothing the entire interrogation session. I know I could have given up the names and pretty much guaranteed myself a pardon when I turn 18, but I wasn't about to damn my best friend, Miller, or his boyfriend. If David Miller was gonna fight for me, then I was gonna fight for Nathan Miller.

End of flashback

"Robby," a muffled voice says.

"Robby!" The voice of Bellamy snaps me back into reality.

"What?" I say startled and wide eyed.

"You just spaced out and almost hit a tree. You alright?" Bellamy asks.

"Yeah, Im fine," I say rubbing my eyes.

I realize that it's now daytime. I don't know how time passed so fast.

"Murphy, where to know?" Bellamy asks harshly.

"What do you say? How bout we lose these first, huh?" Murphy proposes, holding up his cuffed hands.

"No. Again," Bellamy responds.

"If we get attacked out here, I have nothing to defend myself with," Murphy argues.

"I don't care," Bellamy retorts.

Before the argument can continue, Finn walks up to Murphy and cuts his restraints.

"Thank you," Murphy says dickishly and throwing his arms in the air.

Bellamy storms up to him.

"Hey, What the hell are you doing?" Bellamy asks angrily.

"It was your idea to bring him," Finn responds with no emotion.

"Let's just find the damn camp and bring everybody home," I say before another argument breaks out.

"He's the only one—" Bellamy starts to say.

"Shut up," I interrupt annoyed and keep walking.

"What did you say?" Bellamy asks in a challenging tone.

"You heard me. We can either keep arguing or find our friends and get back to Camp Jaha. Your choice boss," I say mockingly.

He gives me a death glare and shakes his head before walking to the front. Murphy walks past Finn and I and up to Bellamy.

"So do I get a gun now?" Murphy asks hopefully, but sarcastically.

Bellamy just shoves him hard. I chuckle slightly at the sight.

We continue to walk for what seems like forever. Finn and I talk about random things and he confirms that he slept with Clarke in the same bunker where I slept with Octavia... twice. He makes a grossed out face.

"Don't worry we used the makeshift bed," I remark.

"We made a pallet on the floor. Bed wasn't done yet," Finn says.

"Everybody down, down. Get down," Murphy hisses as he pulls Bellamy down.

We all crouch behind a fallen tree.

"Told you I'd find it," Murphy responds in a cocky voice.

Bellamy looks into the scope of his gun.

"I see nothing but grounders," he says as he looks intently into the scope.

"Our people aren't here," Bellamy says putting down the gun.

Finn snatches Sterling's gun out of his hands and looks into the scope.

"Wait a minute. They've got stuff from our dropship," Finn says looking through the scope.

"So maybe they know where our friends are," Bellamy says.

"Yeah, or maybe they killed them already," Murphy replies.

"We can't assume that," I say more to myself than anyone else.

"Son of a bitch," Finn hisses in anger.

"What?" Bellamy and I say in unison.

"The guy with one eye," Finn says.

I look and see a one eyed grounder standing with the others.

"What about him?" I ask confused.

"Around his neck," Finn answers.

"What am I looking at?" Bellamy asks.

"He's got Clarke's watch. It was her father's," Finn answers.

"She wouldn't give that up without a fight," Bellamy says.

"Neither will we," Finn says with a crazed expression that gives me slight chills.

"Wait. What's our plan?" I ask before Finn does anything stupid.

"Ok. You guys are with me. You two, stay here, out of sight. If this thing does south, take out the other grounders, but don't shoot the grounder without the watch. Copy?" Bellamy explains.

"Copy," Sterling answers.

"What about Murphy?" Monroe asks.

"Yeah do I get a gun now," Murphy asks sarcastically.

"Something like that," Bellamy answers and pulls Murphy to his feet by the collar.

Bellamy, Finn, Murphy, and I walk away from Sterling and Monroe and head to the woods. Bellamy hands murphy two stones with a smile on his face and tells him to hide and get the grounder's attention. Murphy begrudgingly takes the stones and hides behind a tree. He then taps the stones together which gets the grounder's attention. As soon as the grounder gets close to the tree, Murphy silently leaps behind the bush. Bellamy nods at me and I stand up behind the grounder with a branch that I found. I tap the grounder on the shoulder and he turns around. I smack him across the face as hard as I can with the branch and he goes down in a heap. Finn aggressively snatches the watch and stuffs it into his pocket.

"We need to take him somewhere quiet," Bellamy says.

"I know just the place," Finn answers.

"The bunker," I say in realization.

Finn nods at me and we pick the grounder up and start to drag him toward the bunker.

Once we arrive, we drag the grounder inside and begin to question him. He keeps saying he found it at an empty camp, but of course we don't buy it.

"I'm gonna ask you one more time. Where are our people?" I say while slowly walking up to him.

"There was no one there. We are scavengers," the grounder argues.

"We're gonna do this again... and this time, your gonna stop screwing with us. Where did you find this?!" Bellamy asks holding up Clarke's watch.

"I told you, we found it outside your camp," the grounder says, clearly annoyed.

"He's lying. She would never take it off voluntarily," Finn says with rage.

"I know," Bellamy replies.

Suddenly Finn starts breathing rapidly grabs the watch from Bellamy.

"Where is the girl? Who was wearing this watch?!" Finn yells.

This startled me slightly because I've known Finn my whole life and this is one of the first times I've ever heard him raise his voice.

"I never saw a girl," the grounder says.

"Then where did you find it?" I ask.

"It was scattered along with other supplies and clothing," he answers.

"Another lie. Maybe you should stop asking him nicely—" Murphy begins to say.

"Shut up Murphy," Bellamy and I say in unison.

"Where are our friends. You took them. We know you did. Just tell us where," Bellamy says in a pleading voice.

"Murphy's right. We're wasting time," Finn says before punching the grounder in the face.

"Finn stop!" I say stepping in between him and the grounder.

"ANSWER THE QUESTION! WHERE IS THE GILR WHO WAS WEARING THIS WATCH?!" Finn screams while trying to push past me.

"FOR FUCKS SAKE FINN JUST CALM DOWN!" I scream and shove him as hard as I can.

"Finn stop?! FINN STOP?! Weren't you the one who was broke Lincoln's nose in the dropship and what about when you called dibs on grounders to kill Robby?! Huh? Yeah, so don't TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!" He yells.

"I understand okay. Just please, you don't want to do this trust me. I know from experience and you think it will feel good, but it doesn't. There are some lines you can't uncross," I plead as calmly as possible.

I turn my head away for a second before I hear a thud and see Finn punching the grounder again.

"WHERES CLARKE?! WHERE IS SHE?! WHERE IS—," Finn screams at the grounder.

"Hey!" Bellamy and I yell.

I pull him off the grounder.

"BACK OFF" he yells and points the gun right between my eyes.

I freeze. It wasn't the same as when Bellamy pointed the gun a few days ago. This was my best friend who had always been the peacemaker and the voice of reason. He'd dealt with not only Raven's hot temper, but mine as well. Now here he was. Pointing a gun at my head. I wasn't gonna retaliate. I just held up my hands with a scared expression.

"Finn, please" I say slowly and calmly as he stares at me with a crazed expression.

"Put down the gun Finn," Bellamy pleads.

I look into his eyes and am horrified. He looks completely broken and lost. He turns the gun to the grounder's head.

"Three seconds!" He yells.

"Two," he yells after a second.

Silence

"One," he almost whispers through gritted teeth with venom.

"Okay! I'll tell you. Your friends are east of here. The village where we take our prisoners of war," the grounder says finally breaking.

"East where? How do we get to them?" Finn asks refusing to lower the gun.

"I'll draw you a map, but you should hurry. Soon, they'll outlive their usefulness," the grounder says.

"Get him something to draw a map," Finn orders.

Monroe walks up and gives him a piece of paper.

"You thought I was the crazy one, huh," Murphy says smugly to Bellamy.

"Not now Murphy," I say annoyed.

He just smiles at me.

"Look at you. Ordering me around like I'm some kind of dog. Just because daddy's here now?" Murphy asks smugly.

I remember that his dad was floated for stealing medicine. I remember holding my grandmas hand as they led him toward the airlock chamber as he begged for mercy.

"What do you want Murphy?" I ask looking him straight in the eye.

"I want to know what your deal is. I'm here and you and Bellamy are constantly butting heads. I get banished for a crime I didn't commit. Then I come back and y'all are best friends. What'd I miss?" Murphy says smugly.

I sigh.

"Look Murphy, Im sorry we banished you. What we did was wrong okay. Is that what you wanted to hear?" I say annoyed.

"I don't want to her anything from you. It sucks doesn't it. Your girlfriend is off with that grounder doing God knows what and your stuck here. Dad is stuck at camp and your friend that is here has gone from peacemaker to psychopath overnight. Sucks being alone doesn't it? Welcome to the club," he says bitterly as he looks me in the eye with bitterness.

"Murphy, you have no clue about my life," I say.

I spend most of my life pretty much alone. I had Finn, Raven, and my grandma in the ark, but they had their own lives and I had to spend a lot of time alone. He has no clue what he's talking about.

"Get your house in order Kane," Murphy says mockingly as he pats me on the shoulder.
