Chapter 10- The Gods View

"If there's a book you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must right it"

Toni Morrison

Neptune sat on his throne, in the depths on Atlantis, watching over his mortal son through an orb as he progressed through his quest. One could see the worry through his eyes as he was forced to just sit back and watch his son journey to one of the most dangerous places known to the godly world. He internally smirked as he watched a stupid monster trying to track his son and his nephew, Jason Grace, the son of Jupiter.

"These lot are foolish if they think they can gain the upper hand on my son," he mused to himself silently as he saw Percy aware of the hooded figure behind him. He had ensured that Percy received the highest level of training as a child by Lupa to have him ready for what awaits him and his wife was to soon continue his training. He wanted to make sure Percy was a successful demigod, one of the greatest to walk through the ages and he was going to make sure that his current child would be one of the few who had a good and happy ending, fates be damned. He would bring honour to the House of Neptune and the Court of Atlantis.

He sighed with relief as he watched Juno give him the pearls he had given her. If Percy was going to the land where his father's armies were located, he would need those in a dire situation and Neptune was not going to leave his son empty handed.

He smirked as he heard his son's thoughts, "Another riddle for me to solve. Great….."

"If only you knew how powerful those pearls are my dear son. They will save you when you most need them," Neptune said to himself.

"You seem to be quite concerned my lord," came a voice. Neptune turned to see of his Nereids, watching him in interest

"Forgive me, my lord for interrupting," she said as Neptune shook it off, motioning for her to continue.

"Your son. You appear to be very concerned for him," she said as Neptune gave her a weary smile.

"My son has been given a task to journey into the camp of our enemies," he replied as she nodded in understanding. She, like many others, had noticed the stirring of darkness, something which had brought concern to her king and many other beings that she knew.

"And you are afraid something may happen to your son?" she asked to which Neptune nodded.

"While he may have been trained well, he's still young. He hasn't matured and he's being forced to do a task just for the sake of convincing my brethren of the dangers that are clearly visible. And I fear that I won't be able to help him," Neptune said to her.

"You know that you aren't allowed to interfere my lord. You have already crossed the boundaries once 8 years ago when you interfered directly to save the child. Should you try to intervene my king, you'll bring an even harder fate on your son," the Nereid spoke in a soft voice in an attempt to soothe the lord of the seas.

They watched Percy for a few more minutes as he stopped near one of the rivers. Neptune looked to the Nereid who nodded in understanding. She called on her Sea Horse and sped off to meet the son of her king.

Neptune watched the interaction between both of them, his face slightly darkening as she warned Percy of the dangers he was going to face but lightening up as he heard her say

"Your father will not stand for you to die, despite the wishes of a few,"

"Don't worry Percy. As far as I am here, no matter what, I'll ensure you remain alive my son. And if any god or goddess dares to lay a finger on you and I swear that I will pummel them hard enough and drag them to the depths of Chaos to hang," Neptune thought to himself.

After some time, the Nereid returned back to Atlantis, giving her king a warm smile.

"He really does look like you my king. Almost an identical copy," she told him. "He also gives of the same aura you do, a sense of kindness that not many have but also a fiery fierceness to do whatever is necessary for the good of others,"

"He does me proud. From everything he has done since birth," Neptune spoke as his wife, Salacia walked to the throne room. The Nereid bowed to her before leaving them alone.

"You haven't left your throne for hours since your meeting on Olympus," she noted. It was more of a statement than a question. The look on her husband's face was more than enough to understand what he was thinking.

"Your son will do fine. You should have some faith in him," she told him.

"It's not that I don't have faith in him. I do, I know he'll succeed. But at what cost? He has just begun his life and is already being sent off into the land of Orthys. Why? Just because the others simply cannot accept the fact that father is rising but wish to hold off that claim till the very damn last minute," he replied, growling the last part in deep anger. Salacia watched through the orb as Percy ran past Menoetius, trying to escape past dozens of monsters.

"Come on Percy. The pearl. The pearl!" Neptune spoke in an alarmed voice before sighing in relief as Percy dissolved into a sea mist.

"Well he got away," Salacia said.
"For now. But they'll send scouts to try and trace him," Neptune replied in a concerned voice.

"Well as long as it's just a normal monster, your son will be able to handle it, my lord," Salacia spoke trying to ease her husband's nerves.

"This is my son we're talking about. You think fate would be kind enough to let him off with just a normal monster?" he said with a raised eyebrow as Salacia rolled her eyes.

"Well what do you expect when your son is a literal walking magnet from trouble. He managed to garner the attention of lycanthropes when he was 4 years old," she said.

Neptune simply just gave a tired sigh as he walked out to complete his duties left for the day.

Neptune was barely being restrained by his son Triton, Delphin, Rhodes and Salacia. They'd just seen Percy wake up and awaiting him was none other than the one person Neptune didn't want Percy to meet.

Menoetius

"You can't interfere, you know that," Triton spoke in between breaths as he tried to restrain his father, who was desperately trying to escape. He wanted to knock through the palace doors and give that damn Titan a piece of his own mind for daring to challenge his son, not wanting to let Percy face off one of the most dangerous beings known in the Godly World.

"You know very well you can't go my husband. You'll only end up making things harder for your child," Salacia spoke in a stern voice, reminding him of the consequences of his interference as Neptune stopped struggling, his eyes wild with terror and concern. Triton took a deep breath, clearly tired from facing his father off as he turned to watch as well, wanting to see how well his half-brother would fare against another immortal. They watched as Percy exchanged a few words with the Titan before both of them readied their swords to engage in battle.

His eyes widened in anger as the titan thrashed against his son, shooting him across. Salacia noted that he was trying a different strategy, trying to draw him in, using the sea to his advantage.

"Come on son, bring him to the sea. It'll aid you the moment you ask," Neptune muttered as he watched Percy, with great skill and effort dodge the attacks and retaliate with a few swipes of his own. He let out a sigh of slight relief as his son held his ground.

Triton had to admit, he was impressed. For just a mortal demigod, his little brother clearly had impressive skills and power. His eyes widened in fear along with his father's as they watched Menoetius strike Percy and knock him across the sea. Neptune was ready to get right back up but Triton was prepared this time, his trident in hand to restrain his father before he made another mistake.

"Your son is smart. He's praying for me to intervene, which I now have permission to do so," Salacia spoke to her husband who looked at her immediately.

"Go! GO!" Neptune shouted as she disappeared. Neptune's breathing started to ease as his wife appeared. He knew she'd be fine, having millennials of experience fighting in the army of Atlantis, a minor Titan would be no issue for her. However, he made a mental note to thank her for what she'd done for him.

He watched as both immortals fought with godly speed, shaking the earth by their sheer power.

"Your son clearly has a death wish," Triton's incredulous voice cut through. Neptune turned to look at Percy as he felt his breath pass. What was he doing? Neptune could feel it. Percy was calling on the skies and the water below him, drawing on his godly blood to have them work in sync. But that wasn't all. He was trying to summon lightning, attempting to direct it into the flow of the water so it'd directly hit Menoetius.

"That level of power, it'll burn his body out," Triton spoke, the same thoughts flowing through his mind.

Neptune had to act fast, in order for his son's safety. He concentrated on the water around Percy, commanding it to rejuvenate Percy's divine blood. The sea obeyed their lord, using the power of Neptune's godly presence to aid Percy and keeping his body intact and continuously healing their Prince. Neptune sighed in relief as the battle was over, and Salacia was helping Percy.

Jupiter sat in the throne room, watching Jason as he approached towards the sky, getting ready to face off an army of Venti. Next to him his wife watched, equally as concerned for her champion.

"Your son is quite brave, risking to fight them where they are strongest," Juno said as she watched Jason fight with his lance in the sky.

"Perhaps, but it is also where he is strongest. The sky will assist him when he requires it the most," grumbled Jupiter as he watched his son. If Juno didn't know any better, she could almost detect concern in her husband's eyes.

When the other storm spirits came to join the party, Jupiter made an attempt to get up before being restrained by his wife who shook her head.

"You know better than I do that you can't interfere. Especially as you have to set an example for others,"

Jupiter muttered curses under his breath but he knew she was right. Him, above all the others, could not play a part in this at all.

"Come on, my chosen one. You know what you have to do," Juno spoke in a concerned voice. As Jason prepared to shoot off sensing he was outnumbered, Jupiter grabbed his lightning bolt in a rush. Before Juno could even say a word, he aimed it right at where Jason was and struck it. A large monstrous bolt of lightning flowed through the sky, passed through Jason's body and put down a good chunk of his enemies. He could see Jason looking up, almost like he was looking at him as a small smile came across his son's face.

"That was a risky call," Juno said after a moment.

"I may not be able to be there for him, but that doesn't mean I can't help at times," Jupiter responded as he watched his son harness his powers, using it to control the Venti.

"That's it Jason. Call on the storm in the sky. Call the lightning my son," Jupiter said to himself. A small smile came on his face as Jason started to form a hurricane followed by a deafening strike of lightning, one that made his father proud.

"Well done my son. If only I could credit you in person, but sadly that's not possible. However, you have done well," Jupiter said to which Juno nodded.

Then the worst happened. Jason lost consciousness, losing control over the winds as began to free fall from the sky, shooting down to the world. He wasn't sure what to do and even considered calling on the clouds to save him but thankfully Juno reacted quicker. She was Tempest flying around and channelled her godly voice

"Get him!" her voice rang sharply as Jupiter grimaced slightly but thankfully it worked. Tempest shot down at incredible speed, just catching Jason in time and brought him up to a safe altitude as Jupiter let out a sigh of relief.

Author's Note: Sorry I know this is a bit of a short chapter (2194 words) but my exams just finished and I wanted to post a little bonus chapter, showing the point of view of Neptune and Jupiter as they watched their children during their quests. Next chapter will hopefully be back to normal length, just that I wanted to get one posted today but obviously just had exams.

Hope you liked the chapter, nothing too special but still a good one nonetheless. Also I'm sure quite a few of you may have noticed a new story that has been posted, A smarter son of the sea, basically a smarter version of Percy. I plan on making this a good story, I have a good plot line written for it and don't worry, it won't be the complete same as the original story, there will be a good amount of changes to make it a unique story and the advantage is that, since it's chapter based, it's easier to write and update so updates may be quicker on that, maybe-maybe not, just depends.

Also I do have one question for all of you. It's a long shot but basically a while ago, like 3 to 4 months ago, I read this really good fanfic of Percy, it was a Mortal AU where Annabeth was basically an FBI agent working for Atlas and Kronos alongside Rachel, her mother was in prison and Percy along with all the others were basically criminals according to the FBI, but they worked for a group called Olympus that used the Greek God names as their code names for their mortal names and after Annabeth was assigned to track them, she ended up falling for Percy and then realised that they were her family because of Athena and ended up joining them and then towards the 3rd sequel, Percy was forced to overthrow Zeus because Zeus ordered a manhunt for Percy. I know it's a long shot but it was a really good fanfic and now I can't remember what it was called and can't find it, only thing I remember is that the second sequel's title had the word eagle (i think), lol not very useful I know. But if someone does know which fanfic I am talking about, would really love it if you let me know what it is and would owe you a big one. Chances are low but I thought I'd try incase any of you knew what I was talking about, so if you do know then would really appreciate it if you told me.

As usual, thanks to I'mTotallySaneThankYouVeryMuch, SeaweedBrainIsBlue, Adamcoyne, Royal Instinctz, percyjacksonisgreat, LoneWolf229, ShadowThanatos, DevineDevil, HellRaiderS and AWESOME1356

A few responses:

I'mTotallySaneThankYouVeryMuch: Yes, sooner on, Percy's control over storms and hurricane will begin to develop, in fact you'll see a slight improvement soon, not going to spoil too mouch, but yes by the time it's HoO, his control over hurricanes, especially when angry, will be impressive.

Adamcoyne: Yes hopefully I keep motivation and considering how much I love this story so far, I do plan to finish this and then bring in the sequel afterwards

LoneWolf229: Yes, Percy's cryokinesis will get more powerful, as you can see Salacia has begun training him in that recently and overtime he'll get the hang of it.

Just so everyone knows, there are currently 2 polls for pairing for Percy, one is up on my profile where you all can choose who you want for pairings, if there is one that you'd like me to add, just PM me or let me know on discord. The other poll is obviously on my discord so feel free to vote there as well. And there's one more poll on my discord but you can also let me know in your reviews if you want, who would you prefer to be the greek hero of the prophecy, Bianca or Thalia

Anyways, that's all I have to say for now.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter as always
