Ben 10 vs The Avengers

Part 1

Chapter 8 - The AATF

The room was dark and metallic. In the center of the cold room, there was a small glass box sitting atop a steel table. Inside the box, a creature lay on its side. It groaned in pain as it lay on the floor of the box. Minutes later, the door to the room opened. A man in a dark, black, suite entered. He shut the door behind him, a series of mechanical locks could be heard as the door shut. The man proceeded to sit down at the table. The small creature slowly rose to its feet and stared up at the man.

"Agent Larson, come to continue my torture?" Azmuth spoke.

Agent Larson smirked at the tiny alien. "No, Azmuth, not today. Today I'd like to have a little discussion with you." Larson responded.

"What shall we discuss, agent? Our usual topic?" Azmuth asked.

"No, I'm no longer interested in acquiring your scientific expertise to help advance our technology further . It's clear no matter how much pain we cause you, you will never divulge your technological secrets." Larson explained.

"No, Today I have a new question for you." Larson continued.

"And what makes you think you'll get an answer?" Azmuth said as he narrowed his eyes at his enemy.

"Trust me, Azmuth. You will answer this question. The fate of this universe and the next depends on it." Larson retorted.

Larson then opened a red file in front of Azmuth's cage. Inside were pictures of a large device. Azmuth's eyes widened as he examined the photos.

"Where did you find this?" Azmuth asked.

"In an old WW2 bunker, defended by what seemed to be the last of the Plumbers. You should be proud. They all fought bravely right to the bitter end." Larson explained.

Azmuth's anger toward Agent Larson began to swell in the back of his mind.

"Do you have any idea what this machine is." Azmuth stated.

"Actually, we do. Although I'm not sure its designers knew what it was. Thanks to extensive research on the data files we collected from you upon your arrest all those years ago, we know exactly what this machine is and what its purpose is. I must say Azmuth, I'm shocked you held out on such a remarkable piece of technology." Larson said.

"The machine you refer to is not remarkable in any way, it is an abomination of science!" Azmuth declared.

"When I first created the interdimensional portal, I thought as you do now. The possibilities were endless. It is only now that I know how wrong I was. That machine is good for only one thing, causing problems." Azmuth continued.

"Well I guess you should've told that to Ben Tennyson." Larson said with an evil grin.

Azmuth hung his head low as he began to realize what was going on.

"So Tennyson is the one who built the machine." Azmuth said.

"Him and his friends. We questioned one of the Plumbers at the bunker before we terminated him. He was adamant that what they had built was a time machine. Apparently they didn't have full access to your data files, or else they would've known what they had actually built." Larson explained.

Azmuth turned away from Larson. He slowly sat back down on the floor and closed his eyes.

"Please leave me. There's nothing I can do for you. Just leave me be…" Azmuth trailed off.

Larson closed the folder and stood up.

"Of course, Azmuth. I'll let you grieve in peace. Oh, there is just one last thing. My original question. Where did Ben Tennyson go?" Larson asked.

Azmuth turned and spoke. "How should I know. You think just because I built the damn thing that that means I know where the boy went? There are trillions of different dimensions he could be in, you'll never find him." Azmuth explained.

"No, but you will find him. As you said, you built the machine. I'm sure you can find a way to track him down." Larson responded.

He turned towards the door and made ready to exit the room

"Oh, and if you're looking for any incentive on why you should do as you're told, just remember we have the locations of over a hundred alien worlds. It'd be a shame if I had to convince the president that they just pose too much of a threat to be left… unsupervised." Larson Threatened.

With that he left the room, leaving Azmuth alone with his thoughts.

"Tennyson, wherever you are I hope you can manage to find a way back. We're all doomed if you don't…" Azmath thought as he lay back down on the floor of his cell.
