So... I wrote this sometime last year (no wait, I checked, June 28, 2018) and ... UH... It's here now. I also don't know what I wrote at all. I'm really questioning my writing style.
I also have no idea where this is heading but I know there's something about magical exploding rainbow rocks (or something) in the next chapter. Because I already wrote it. About a year ago. However, I don't have anything after that, so I guess I'll have to work on it.
And of course I'll have to work on everything else that I'm working on.
Chapter 8: Harry Potter Folks Part One
Harry and his friends went down to the Great Hall for breakfast. The first day of school was currently amazing. Professor McGonagall handed out their timetables, and Harry wanted to sit as close to the transfers as possible.
He sat so close he could hear some of their conversations.
"...Hugo Partridge," he heard someone from the Delphi Institute say. He was pretty sure it was the scary Nico kid. Honestly, Nico looked younger than Harry, and already looked as if he'd been through more traumatizing situations.
"I think they messed up your name," Neville said a minute later.
"I'm going to go talk with the Liones Academy people," Hermione said. "I want to know more about their magic."
Of course she was done with breakfast that fast, because when Hermione wanted to do something she did it. In this case, she really wanted to speak with the newcomers.
"Also, they have a very wide range of ages. Perhaps they're grouped based on skill level?"
Hermione kept mumbling all sorts of different questions to herself.
"Harry, want to come along?"
"What about me?" Ron said, his mouth full of food.
"You're obviously not done eating yet. Join us if you ever finish," she gestured at Ron's giant plate of food.
Harry hurriedly put the last bite of waffles into his mouth and followed Hermione to the Liones Academy table.
"Oh, hi Hermione," the oldest Liones Academy member (by appearance), Ban, said.
"She's got a lot of questions," Harry tried to say, but he was drowned out by Hermione's voice.
"I've got a few questions," Hermione said. "First of all, why do you have such a wide range of ages."
"We're grouped based on power level, so we can practice together," King spoke up.
"No kidding about that age difference though," Merlin said. "I just realized how far apart some of our ages are."
The rest of the Liones Academy suddenly gasped and looked around at each other.
"Say, do you think this Hogwarts place has any good ale?" Meliodas asked, which was completely off topic from their current conversation.
"Why are you even asking about ale?!" Hermione asked before Harry could say anything.
"You're, like, fifteen. That's my age. We can't have any alcoholic drinks," Harry said.
"Where we come from, drinking at fifteen is sometimes acceptable," Diane explained.
"Sometimes?" Hermione said. "Okay. Well, next question. Why did only some of you do a demonstration?"
"Would you like a demonstration right now?" Gowther asked. "I am perfectly capable of controlling your mind, if you wish."
"And what's up with that creepy monotone?" Ron said, running up to them.
"Oh, he's done eating," Hermione muttered. "Finally."
"Well…" Meliodas began. "We have to train our powers a lot, to make sure nothing bad happens."
Diane nodded. "I don't want everyone to find themselves squished onto the ceiling because of my magic."
She sounded very serious about that.
"Also, Meliodas, why haven't you decided on a type of magic to study yet? If you haven't decided, how did they know what group to put you in?"
"Here are your timetables!" Dumbledore dumped a few pieces of paper onto the Liones Academy transfers' table. "I see you are already friends with our most popular students. You'll be having plenty of classes with them! I also believe you should start heading down towards the dungeons, as Professor Snape would be highly displeased if Harry were to be late on his first day of classes."
"Yeah," Harry muttered. "See you in class I guess."
"Bye!" the wizards of Hogwarts left and made their way towards Harry's least favorite class. Hermione realized Meliodas never answered her question and resolved to ask again as soon as possible.
