"I still see them sometimes."
The confession comes over coffee, but she's ashamed and refuses to look up, and she misses entirely the startled expression on his face.
She doesn't realize she's spoken his heart.
"Am I insane?" she whispers, still not meeting his eyes.
Sesshoumaru laughs then, bitter. "You are not."
When she gives him a confused look, he pushes his vulnerability aside for her sake and divulges the truth that haunts him. "I see them as well."
"Really?"
"The field."
Relieved, she sags. "I thought I was crazy."
He sips his coffee, thoughtful. "We are traumatized, not crazy."
