Sound had been scratching my back ever since he had picked me off the ground, "you're enjoying this trainer's company too much," Scarlet said, "you do know we are leaving him the second it is safer to travel alone?" I nodded, ears fell flat on my head. I wiggled around in the human's arms, then saw four Pokeballs. What kind of Pokemon did he have?

"Hey bud, are you down about something?" I shook my head, "alright then, we should be stopping sometime soon to eat. If you two are hungry, I'll make something for you guys as well," he offered. Chances are, I was going to have to eat the same kind of food I ate on my first full day as a Houndoom, which I wouldn't mind. Sound took us a few yards off the pathway, then sat down. He then settled me down next to him, "do you know how to use Ember? It'll save me a couple of matches."

I shook my head and hung my head low, "hey now, don't worry! I can teach you how to, then in turn you can help me get a fire going?" that sounded like a fair deal. Just helping out a bit, and in turn for something that would be genuinely useful in the long run. While I still wanted to go back home, if I couldn't do that, then it's good to at least be able to fight back if I'm cornered.

"Okay, have you even learnt to use that inner fire?" I shook my head, "huh, usually Houndour don't leave their mothers until they're able to do that. Even then, no Houndour leaves its mother at your age." how did he know how old I was? Was he some kind of expert? Well, that didn't matter, "okay, so just think of it like this; you're going to bark yeah?" I nodded, "try doing that with a burp?" Was he serious?

How on earth was a burp going to help me use fire? "You don't think that's a good tip do you?" I nodded, "figured. Just try it, if that doesn't work, I have another idea to help you out a bit." I swallowed some air and felt the fire inside of me start kicking up. With a bark, I shot a small flame, but it didn't last too long. It was out in about 30 seconds after I shot it, "how did that work…" I said to myself.

"That's a good start, put more power into that bark of yours, and it'll get stronger," he pointed at the fireplace, "now give it a shot at the fire pit. Give it all you've got okay? I nodded, before doing exactly as said, using much more force in my bark, it was almost like a roar with how loud the bark was.

The fire pit had a small fire in it, "and if you keep working on that, you'll easily learn moves like Ember, Flamethrower, even Fire Blast, just keep working on that fire shooting of yours."

He then grabbed some fuel to keep the fire from going out.

"You know, that was an… unique way of teaching you how to use that inner fire," Scarlet said, with a slightly impressed expression. "Being completely honest, I didn't think that was going to work at all," the Ninetales giggled, "I thought this trainer was a bit crazy in the head, but it seems like he knows what he is doing when it comes to teaching Fire Types to use their fire."

Sound grabbed the four Pokeballs on his belt, "alright you bunch, it's time for lunch," he tossed them up in the air, and four Pokemon came out.

The first was Pikachu, the second was a female Pyroar, the third was an Eevee, and lastly there was a Wartortle. The fourth was likely Sound's starter, if the start of a journey was anything like the games. The Pikachu and Eevee seemed almost more energetic than the Eevee and Elekid I played with. "Hello!" the Pikachu extended his paw, "heya," I shyly tried hiding under Scarlet's tales. It still surprised me that I was even remotely shy. Within minutes of meeting this Pikachu's trainer, I had let him carry me after all.

"Hey, no need to be scared, if you're a friend of our trainer, you're a friend of ours," the Wartortle tried coaxing me out.

Scarlet chuckled, before moving me out from under her tails with telekinesis, "don't worry about them doing anything, I'm sure they won't try to hurt either of us." I nodded, with a bit more confidence, I stepped forward, and lowered to the ground.

"You're it!" I tagged the Pikachu before running past him, "that's more like it!" before giving chase to the Wortortle. Who was far slower than the Pikachu. Pyroar didn't join in, she was laying beside sound, waiting for him to finish cooking. The Wortle landed right in front of me, before promptly tagging me, "you're it!" he then got in his shell and sped off.

I ran up to Scarlet, "you want to join in?" I was kind of hopeful that she would say "yes." playing with her for the first time was actually kind of fun, "well, if you'd like me to, then yes I would."

Scarlet's POV=

"You're it!" Raon tapped me lightly before running off, I guess I would be playing then. I honestly was hoping to join in, it's been far, far too long since I've played tag with any other Pokemon. Playing this would be a nice change of pace. I honestly couldn't say "no" to Raon after he put on those puppy eyes of his. I had to admit, he did look adorable when he asked me to come play with him and his new group of friends.

Did I just call a Houndour adorable? Well, this Houndour was different from the rest of those savages, so I'll at least give him that. I easily caught up with the Eevee and tagged her, "you're it," I then sped off in order to not get tagged.

"Alright guys, lunch is ready, after you're done, I'll let you guys play with our new friends for a little longer." said Sound.

He let us play until sundown.
