When Loki woke up, she saw that her and Coral were tied to Chairs along with Jason.

Jason was tied to his chair with Chains.

"Hey." Loki said.

There was no answer.

"HEY!" Loki yelled.

"Shut up." The guard said.

"No. You don't understand. My brother..." Loki looked over at Jason's face. It was dark and his eyes glowed golden red. "Oh Shit."

an hour ago.

Coral had a Buzzsaw Blade to Winter Schnee's throat. "Your move Asshole." She said to Ironwood.

Glynda came up behind Coral and smacked her away with her telekinesis, making sure to knock her unconscious. "Would you mind explaining what is going on?" She asked Ironwood with a glare.

"I don't know. Why not ask miss Xiao Long?"

Glynda turned toward Yang. "I was wondering that myself."

Yang and the rest of Team RWBY were taken to Team RWBY's dorm.

Meanwhile.

Viridian was working on Jason's legs when Jason began thrashing. "Oh no ye don' lad. I have five more minutes left and I'm not letting ye ruin all tha' work." Viridian held his hand out and held Jason down with his Semblance. When he was done, he let Jason go, but Jason wasn't moving. Viridian shook Jason.

Jason woke up and got off the table. "I'm going to kill Ironwood." He ran out the door and followed the scent of Ironwood to Team RWBY's dorm.

When he got to the dorm he barged in and saw Ironwood, Winter, Glynda, Qrow, and Ozpin. As well as Team RWBY.

"How..." winter began, but Jason was on the move in seconds. He was about to hit Winter when Weiss stopped him.

"What do you think you are doing?" Weiss asked.

Glynda took the moment to smack Jason into the ground, and Ironwood kicked him in the face knocking him out.

Qrow had his weapon drawn the instant Ironwood kicked Jason. "I don't care why you did that, but don't do it again."

"I did it because Mr. Todd was a threat and wouldn't listen to reason."

"What? You practically manhandle his sisters, and you want him to react rationally? I think you have a screw loose."

"No. We need to find out what happened, and Mr. Todd acting aggressively wouldn't have helped the situation."

"Why don't you tell us what happened Miss Xiao Long." Ozpin said.

Yang took a deep breath. "Neptune and I were bantering back and forth when he started saying things, really hurtful things, about my Team, and I attacked him. By the time I realized that Neptune wouldn't say those things I was surrounded by Atlas guards, and Jason was fighting to get to me."

"I see." Ironwood said. "I think the best decision is to disqualify Team RWBY."

An hour later.

Jason woke up in a room, tied to a chair, with chains.

"Oh shit." He heard Loki say. He started trying to get out of the chains, but the door opened a second later.

"Mr. Todd." Ozpin said. "I am sorry that we decided to use such measures to keep you detained, but if you will not attack us then we will let you go. I would like to have a chat."

"Where… is… Yang?" Jason asked, his voice dark and almost... ancient.

"Miss Xiao Long is safe. If you want to talk to her, I will call her scroll right now. With your enhanced senses you will be able to tell if something is wrong."

Jason nodded.

Yang answered on the second ring. "Hello?"

Jason listened for a second. He heard Team RWBY, but nothing else. "Hey Yang." Jason said.

"Jason!" Yang shouted. "Jason are you okay?"

"More or less. What about you?"

"We got disqualified and the win went to Team SSSN."

Jason looked at Ozpin. "Yang. I'm going to have to let you go."

"Okay. Hey. Don't worry. Everything will be okay. Bye."

"Bye." Jason said.

"See. You have nothing to worry about." Ozpin said.

"Then why are Loki and Coral tied to chairs against their will?"

"Because. We couldn't have any more disturbances at the Festival. People are already on edge, and them tearing the school and stadium apart looking for you would have made things worse."

"Let them go and we can talk."

Loki and Coral were let go, and Ozpin looked at Jason. "Can I ask you a question Mr. Todd?"

"Normally I would say that you just did but considering the situation I'll just say yes."

"Have you read any of the old fairy tales?"

"No. I mean I used to listen to Yang Reading them to Ruby when she was younger, but only one of them really caught my attention."

"May I ask why only one?"

"Because they are a load of crap."

"Could you elaborate?"

"They are about some hero saving the day. Real life doesn't work like that. There is no hero that comes and swoops in to save the day. Real life is a monster that creates people like me."

"Could you explain that?"

Jason sighed. "I'm not a good person. I've never been a good person."

"I think that you are just too hard on yourself to see that you are actually a good person who has had to make very difficult decisions to survive."

"Then what would you call me? I am broken to the point that I can't tell the difference between my past and my present."

"You may not like it, but you are a true hero. You don't care what consequences you have to face; you just do what you do to protect the people you care about."

"Doesn't that make me a selfish bastard, and not a hero?"

"I can honestly say that I would rather have a hundred heroes just like you rather than some of the people who get to be Hunters."

"I wouldn't wish my past on anyone else."

"You can't let your past define you Mr. Todd, but you can learn from your past and let it carry you to glory."

"I don't want Glory."

"And that is why you will always be the hero, so long as you keep that mindset."

They sat in silence for a few moments before Ozpin asked. "May I ask you which story you liked listening to when you were younger?"

"It was The Man with Two Souls."

"May I ask why you liked that one so much?"

"I felt that it was describing me. I was a kid who was dealing with my old life, and trying to live a new life, but both lives were fighting for control. I guess that I felt a connection to the man with two souls."

"I see." Ozpin let Jason out of the chains. "I have a favor I'd like to ask you."

"What is it?"

"I have a suspicion that someone will target the Vytal Festival. Would you be able to use your enhanced senses to keep an eye out for anyone suspicious?"

"You want me to find a suspicious person... at the Vytal Festival?"

"That's right."

"What is this really about?"

"I told you. I have a feeling that someone will target the Vytal Festival. To destroy it and hurt many innocent people. People like Ruby."

Jason narrowed his eyes. "You specifically said Ruby so I would do this didn't you?"

"I need your help Jason."

Jason thought about it for a minute. There was no way he would ever let Ruby get hurt. "What do you want me to do?"

Pyrrha walked into the Arena and stared at her opponent. She was fighting Penny.

Mercury walked into the control room. If all went according to Cinders plan, Beacon would Fall tonight. He just had to wait for his moment.

Cherry watched in horror as Pyrrha and Penny greeted each other. "No. No, no, no, no. We have to stop this. We can't let them fight."

Pearl looked at Ripple and Pastel. "See if you can stop the fight."

Ripple and Pastel got up.

Pyrrha and Penny started the fight.

Jason walked into the sitting area of the Arena and saw Pyrrha fighting Penny. He could smell fear and anxiety on Pyrrha, but she wasn't shy or afraid of fighting. what was she afraid of?

Jason walked around the stadium to get a better angle. Maybe he could see something different. While he was walking, he ran into Jaune.

"Oh. Hey Jason. What's up?"

"Have you noticed anything odd about Pyrrha lately?"

"Yeah. She is worried about something. Destiny. I thought that was who she was going to fight, but no. I think that she is afraid of change."

"Did you propose?"

"No. Not yet." Jaune said sheepishly. "I haven't found the right..."

"JASON!" Ruby yelled from somewhere close by.

Jason jumped into Jaune's Shadow and appeared from Ruby's Shadow. "Ruby!"

Jason turned around to see Ruby on the ground and saw... "MERCURY!"

"Oh man." Mercury said running away.

Jason turned to comfort Ruby. "Ruby. What's wrong?"

"H-he said that P-Penny was going to die."

Jason picked Ruby up and ran outside only to hear the audience gasp in horror. "No." He said running for the sitting area. He saw Penny cut in pieces and Pyrrha crying. He ran to Jaune and put Ruby next to him. "Keep her safe." He said before running off.

"What happened?" Jaune asked Ruby.

"They killed Penny." Ruby cried putting her face in Jaune's chest.

Jason ran through the crowd jumping over people and sniffing the air. He knew who he was looking for, and he caught the sent. The last time he smelled that smell it sent him into a coma. This time he would follow it to the source. When he found the source, he yelled. "EMERALD!"

Emerald turned and saw Jason. "Oh crap." She said before pushing through the crowd.

"MOVE!" Jason yelled before pushing off the ground , cracking it, and grabbing Emerald by the hair. He slammed her to the ground and punched her in the gut. "WHY! WHY DID YOU DO THIS!"

"I don't have to tell you." Emerald sneered with blood coming out of her mouth.

Jason dragged her over to the edge of the colosseum and held her over. "Tell me what I want to know, or I'll drop you."

Emerald held onto Jason's hand for dear life. She didn't want to die.

A voice came over the loudspeaker.

"Look around you. Is this the type of world that you want to live in? Your Hunters can't protect you, your military lies to you, and one of your most prestigious members of society thinks himself above the law."

Jason looked around and saw that he had gathered a crowd.

"Please!" Emerald cried. "Someone help me. He's crazy."

"SHUT UP!" Jason yelled.

"Let her go." A woman said. "What would your mother say if she saw you right now?"

Jason felt the furnace of rage roar to life like he'd never felt it before. "I WOULDN'T KNOW! PEOPLE LIKE HER..." Jason threw Emerald at the woman. "...TOOK HER FROM ME!"

"Get away from her." A man said hitting Jason with his cane.

Jason was livid. Not only were these people being played like harps. He couldn't do anything about it.

A Nevermore dropped down on the group, and Jason used his boosters to jump at the Nevermore. He grabbed it and punched it in the neck.

"He's trying to get away!" Emerald yelled. "Please don't let him hurt me."

"We won't." The man said.

Jason ran off the Nevermores back and landed on the Arena. "Fine then. You lot can take care of that Nevermore. Hope you guys have weapons because you're going to need them."

The crowd began murmuring as the nevermore circled around.

Jason listened to their terrified screams as he walked away.

"MOMMY!" A little girl shouted.

'Damn it.' Jason said before turning around and running at the Nevermore. He jumped and boosted himself into the Nevermores mouth. 'Let's see if you can handle this.' he said as he began punching and kicking whatever he could as he made his way down the Nevermores throat. He grabbed some throwing knives from his legs and stabbed them into the flesh tearing the Nevermores insides up as he slowed his descent. He started stabbing whatever he could until he felt the cool night air against his face. He had cut his way through the Nevermore and was going to fall to his doom. Then he felt the crash.

Jaune watched as Jason ran off, leaving Ruby in his charge. "We have to get to the Arena floor." He said.

Ruby and Jaune made their way to the Arena floor to Pyrrha.

Ruby ran to Penny and saw that she was still on. "P-Pen-Penny?" Ruby cried.

"H-Hello Fr-friend R-Ruby."

"Penny. Please don't go."

"I am so-sorry, but I-I-I don't think I ha-have a ch-choice, but at least I-I-I can die knowing y-you were m-my friend." Penny's eyes closed and didn't open up again.

Ruby fell to her knees and held her hands to her heart. "No. No. PENNY!"

Jaune and Pyrrha came up to Ruby.

"Ruby." Pyrrha sobbed. "I... am so sorry."

Jaune and Pyrrha put their hands-on Ruby's back to offer support.

The others came down to the Arena floor and offered silent support to Ruby.

"NEVERMORE!" Gale yelled pointing as a Nevermore came crashing down towards them.

"You come into my school." Scott said wiping tears from his face. "You mess with my friends!" He dropped his gauntlets. "WELL I SAY ENOUGH!" He punched the Nevermore head on before he was pushed towards the edge of the Arena. The area of impact shattered under the force of the punch, and the Nevermore finally came to a stop. Scott looked at his fist.

"When did you get that strong?" Gale asked.

"I don't know." Scott said just as confused.

"Ele foi Super Saiyan!" (He went Super Saiyan!) Jose yelled.

There was a tearing sound and a gore covered Jason crawled out of the Nevermores stomach. "Where the hell are my weapons?" He asked in a tone that said he was one hundred and ten percent done with everyone.

"We put them in your locker." Ember said trying to keep the bile from rising in her throat.

Jason looked at Auburn. "Can you use two water dust crystals to wash me off?" He asked.

Auburn put two water Dust Crystals in her 'Thumpers' and broke them in Jason's direction effectively washing him off.

"Thanks." Jason said reaching for his Scroll. He put the number in his scroll, and his locker came flying by.

"Wait lad." Viridian said coming up to him. "I was saving this fer yer birthday, but ye need it now." Viridian said handing him a box.

Jason opened the box to see midnight black material with a red insignia in the chest.

"I asked Cliff if'n anyone in yer family had a crest. Cliff gave me his crest to use.

Jason looked at the Red bat in the center of the chest. It glowed bright red. "No time for privacy." He said before discarding his charcoal grey shirt and black Cargo pants and putting on the new suit. He pulled on the black cargo pants, and the black and red armored, long sleeved shirt. The material was lightweight yet durable. He donned his Red motorcycle helmet. There was a charcoal grey hood hanging on his back. He pulled it over his helmet and pulled on the pair of clawed gloves. The claws were razor sharp but were able to move the same way his hands moved. He added his weapons to the suit and looked at everyone. He saw a mix of emotions. "Are we ready?" He asked.

The Teams looked at him and nodded.

"Good. Let's get these people to safety. Evacuate everyone, and get them to the landing strips..."

"Wait just a moment." Ozpin said coming up. "Miss Nikos. If you would come with me."

"If Pyrrha is going then I am going." Jaune said.

"Very well. Just hurry."

"Jaune." Jason called after him.

"Yeah?" Jaune asked.

Jason handed Jaune his 'Vulcans'. "Don't argue, just take them."

Jaune nodded and took the holsters. "Thank you."

Jason nodded back. "Use them to keep her safe."

Jaune nodded before he put the holsters on and put the 'Vulcans' in the holsters and ran to join Pyrrha and Ozpin.

"All right." Jason said. "You and your respective Teams get out there and start helping where you can."

Jaune and Pyrrha ran with Ozpin to the clocktower and they went down.

"I am sorry Miss Nikos, but we are out of time. I know that you are hesitant to take the Maidens power, especially since you want to have a life, but this is important."

Pyrrha looked from Ozpin to Jaune, back to Ozpin.

"Pyrrha." Jaune said. "I know that you are feeling stressed and everything, but the Pyrrha Nikos I love wouldn't sacrifice innocent lives because she was scared. The Pyrrha Nikos I love would save some oblivious idiot from falling to his death because he didn't have a landing strategy, and his Aura wasn't active. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So, I guess what I'm asking is..."

The elevator door opened, and they were in a large chamber.

"We have to hurry." Ozpin said.

They were rushed to the far end of the chamber where they saw the previous Fall Maiden.

"What were you going to ask me Jaune?" Pyrrha asked.

"Miss Nikos." Ozpin said. "We don't have time for this."

"Will you marry me!" Jaune asked.

Pyrrha didn't even hesitate. She ran at Jaune and hugged him. "Yes."

"Get in the pod now!" Ozpin said pointing in the direction of the Aura transfer pod.

Pyrrha kissed Jaune before running to the pod and getting in.

Ozpin began the process of transferring Amber's power to Pyrrha. "Mr. Arc. If you would please keep an eye out."

Jaune stood guard as best he could.

A few seconds later the elevator door opened, and Cinder Fall walked into the chamber.

Jaune was filled with Holy Fire as he saw the Woman who went to such great lengths to hurt his friends. He was sure that she was the one who poisoned Pyrrha. He aimed the 'Vulcans' at her and fired.

Cinder raised her hand and deflected each round.

Ozpin looked at Pyrrha. If he had to guess she had absorbed nearly half of the Maidens power.

Cinder raised her hands and created a bow and arrow out of glass and aimed it at Amber. She pulled back and released.

Jaune dropped the 'Vulcans' and grabbed 'Crocea Mors' before opening the shield and running to stop the arrow. He stood in front of the arrow and stopped it... or thought he did.

The arrow moved around Jaune's shield and flew past Jaune, hitting Amber in the chest.

"NO!" Ozpin yelled.

Pyrrha looked over and saw that the transfer wasn't done, but Amber was dying.

Energy flowed towards Cinder, and she looked empowered.

"GO!" Ozpin shouted at Jaune and Pyrrha.

Jaune put 'Crocea Mors' away and grabbed the 'Vulcans' before running with Pyrrha to the elevator.

Cinder clicked her tongue. "Can't have that now. Can we?" She asked in her sultry voice. She aimed an arrow at Pyrrha but was stopped by Ozpin who shattered the bow and arrow.

Ozpin hit Cinder multiple times allowing Pyrrha and Jaune to get away.

Pyrrha and Jaune exited the elevator together.

"Jaune." Pyrrha said. "I have to stop her."

"No." Jaune said sternly. "We have to stop her."

Pyrrha grabbed Jaune and kissed him. "Forgive me." She said before pushing him towards a Rocket Propelled locker.

AN: I am soooo sorry for such an evil cliffhanger, and you guys will probably hate me over the rest of the Volume, but it's the fall of Beacon. It's probably the most traumatic volume in the entire show. What were your guy's thoughts on this chapter? Because a lot happened. Penny dies, Jason gets new battle gear, Pyrrha becomes half maiden. And Pyrrha pushes Jaune towards a rocket propelled locker. And you guys will have to wait two whole weeks to find out what happened. Oops. Spoiler alert. Enjoy.
