I am going to have apologize for all of this. Last night, when I was updating this story, I accidentally posted the wrong chapter (I try to write a chapter ahead so that way if I need to, I can post a chapter and not worry about falling behind.) I am SO SORRY, and also sorry I didn't realize the mistake until two hours later.

I'm going to post the CORRECT chapter this morning, and the next chapter tomorrow.

Again, I am so sorry, and apologize for the mistake. I hope you still like this story and will continue reading and reviewing!

We went back to the Institute, because the Silent Brothers kicked us out. They didn't like people loitering around in their city. I thought they were kind of possessive that way.

But I knew the name Magnus. Besides the guy at the club, I knew another Magnus my parents had mentioned. I'd kind of forgotten about it, but seeing the other memory triggered it.

"Who is Magnus?" Jace asked. "I feel like I've heard that name before."

"Well, the only thing I think is connected is a name I heard once. Right before we moved, just after Mom had Max, my parents were talking about the move. They mentioned the name 'Magnus Bane.' I thought it was strange, because Magnus isn't a name you hear often." I blocked out the cat-eyed Magnus from the club. I had to stop thinking about him.

"Magnus Bane?" Clary asked. "He's only, like, one of the most powerful warlocks in the world! He's the current High Warlock of Brooklyn, and his magic is so good, he can charge high prices and people still pay them. We've had to use him a few times over the years, and he charges us a fifteen percent nuisance fee, and we don't mind paying it."

"He doesn't sound like the nicest person," Isabelle said.

"But he is," Jace pointed out. "It's just that Shadowhunters aren't his favorite. But he is always really nice to Clary, Layla, and me. And he has such a cool warlock mark. Some days, I wish I had cat eyes like him."

"You have golden eyes," Clary pointed out. "That's close enough."

Cat eyes. Magnus. It all matched to the same guy I'd met at the club. I'd literally started hitting on a powerful warlock who was definitely out of my league. If Jace and Clary weren't hanging around in front of me, I'd bang my head against the wall.

"Well, I'm looking forward to meeting him," I said, which was true. Even though I'd already met him, I wanted to see him again. After some guy I thought I would never see again, someone who was actually interested in me, I jumped at the chance to see him again.

"Then we have to go and see him!" Isabelle exclaimed. "But how do we get a hold of him?"

"Leave it to me," Jace said, with a mischievous smile.

Twenty minutes later, we all piled into a taxi to go and see Magnus. Jace had called him and scheduled an appointment with him for an hour later. When Jace mentioned the name Alexander Lightwood, Magnus seemed especially interested.

"He must have remembered you," Jace pointed out. I said, nothing, just stared at him. Jace didn't need to know the attraction I felt towards Magnus, how complicated things had just gotten. We just sat there in silence for the rest of the ride, heading towards my destiny. Also known as Magnus Bane.

Magnus had a nice apartment. It was in an old brownstone in Brooklyn, of which he seemed to be one of the only occupants. You could see that other people lived there but Magnus was the only one who made a mark. You could just tell from all the glitter strewn over the entrance. If that wasn't Magnus, I didn't know who it was.

"So what do we now?" Layla asked. She'd come along, along with Jace, Isabelle, and Max. Why the adult Shadowhunters let the teenagers do all the work, I had no idea. But what was really bugging me was that I was eighteen, and Jace, who was a year younger than me, was literally babysitting me. Talk about embarrassing. And, oh God, it had to be in front of Magnus.

"We ring the bell?" Jace suggested, pushing the buzzer in the box in front of us.

"Who is this?" an annoyed voice said from the voice box. It sounded like Magnus from the club, but it could have been someone else. "This better not be Raphael, because if it's him, I already told you, you need to talk to Ragnor about that spell."

"It's Jace Herondale," Jace said.

"Oh, you," the voice said. "Hang on, I'm coming down."

We waited for a second, and then a door flew open. Standing in the doorway was Magnus from the club, looking even more beautiful than he did before.

His hair, held up in spikes by some sort of hair product, was dusted with blue glitter. His cat eyes, which weren't contacts after all, were lined with dark blue, almost black, eyelids sparkling with blue glitter. Magnus's eyelashes were coated with mascara, tiny bits of blue glitter attached to them. His lips were painted blue, and in the light, I could really see his high cheekbones under his perfect caramel skin.

Apparently, the theme today for Magnus was blue, because it continued from his face to his clothes. Both his shirt and pants were blue, hugging his body in such ways that I wanted to look away. The shoes he was wearing were shiny blue combat boots. I didn't even know they made them in blue.

If you asked me to name a more beautiful person, I couldn't. Magnus took my breath away, and God, if he was into me, I was going to stay here for a while.

Everyone just stared at him, me most of all, trying to get over their shock.

"Hello?" Magnus asked.

Isabelle got over her shock the fastest. She steps forward, and extended her hand.

"Hello, I'm Isabelle Lightwood, and these are my siblings, Alec and Max, along with Jace and Layla Herondale."

"I feel like I've heard the name Alec before," Magnus said. I gulped. "Eh, must have been have a long time ago. So, what are you here for?"

"Apparently you did something to us a long time ago," Isabelle told him. "Something to help our family run away into the mundane world."

Magnus sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You got me there. Look, I can explain it to you two. But not anyone besides them. It's too dangerous for anyone else to know, at least until Alec and Isabelle have time to process what happened all those years ago. If they tell anyone else, you don't want to know what will happen."

"Oh," Jace said. "Well, you two have fun."

"I need to break the news to them separately," Magnus said, but when he said that, his eyes lingered on me for a little while. "And I want to start with the hot one first."

"Thank you," Isabelle said.

"I didn't mean you," Magnus said. "I meant him." He pointed towards me, and I blushed, staring at Magnus. He thought I was hot? Well, there was a first time for everything.

"Oh, well, I-I don't mind," I stammered out, stepping forward. Magnus smilied, and led me up to his apartment. Everyone else looked at me, worried, but I didn't care.
