Chapter 8
Percy POV
The first question was asked by Hestia, " So you say that you are a demigod and that you have defeated father and forced him to fade. But father transferred his powers into his past self , thus making him stronger?"
I answered, " No, yes and no. I was a demigod , but now I am a god , Chronus's blessing immortalized me. For the second question, yes I killed Kronos. But he wasn't able to transfer his powers , but he transferred his memories to his past self . This means that this war is going to be even more harder than it originally was , but this time I will help you dethrone Kronos. "
She nodded and smiled at me. I smiled back. She was the only goddess who hadn't changed a bit. Even after 2000 years,she was still as sweet as she was right now. Then Hades asked , " If you are a god , what are your domains?"
I replied, " Well, my domains are time, tides, swordsmanship, loyalty and electricity. "
"Heyy, according to your story, isn't electricity supposed to be in my domain?" asked good ole thunder pants.
" You have the domains of thunder and the sky, electricity is my major domain, you just share it with me." I said.
He didn't look happy, but didn't protest.
Hera smiled and asked, " When you fell from the sky, the water acted as a bed to cushion your fall. Did you control it?"
" No. That was because the water recognizes it's prince and thus cushioned my fall. Peaks of being a son of Poseidon. " I smirked.
Poseidon nervously asked, " Well Perseus, can you please tell us our domains and what we are going to do next to prepare for the war?"
"Dad , ...if I may call you that?" I asked . He politely said," Umm, could you please call me Poseidon. I feel like I am still too young to be a father. "
I chuckled and nodded. " Well then, Poseidon you were the god of the seas and water. Hades was the god of the underworld. Zeus ruled the sky. Demeter had domains related to plants.
Hera was the goddess of marriage and families. Hestia was the goddess of the hearth and fire."
They nodded , but Hera was not that happy to hear her domains . Cant really blame her . Those domains did suck.
Maybe I could speak to the Morai and give Hera some useful domains. Actually thinking about it, Hera was a lot more friendly and cheerful in the past . I guess getting married to the world's worst husband had its side effects.
" As to now, I think we should get moving or Kronos will sense my presence. " saying so, I snapped my fingers and the table and chairs disappeared. We started walking towards the nearest safe place , or Mount Ida . We reached there to find a lady sitting there . She had black hair and soft green eyes. She was a splitting image of Demeter. With a jolt, I recognized her as Rhea, the great mother. I bowed to her and said, "Hello Lady Rhea. It is a pleasure to meet you."
She smiled kindly at me and asked," Who are you child? I believe I have never seen you before."
"I am Perseus Jackson, son of Poseidon" I replied.
She was shocked and looked at me and then dad. She was confused when she saw that we both looked almost the same.
I laughed and explained my story to her. She was really impressed by the time it ended. " Well if you are here to help my children defeat my bastard of a husband, I guess I should thank you."
I smiled at her. We spent the rest of the day talking to each other. I told them the story of my first quest to retrieve Zeus's electric toothpick and they all listened with interest , while Zeus was just happy to hear that he was the king of gods.
That night, I had the first dreamless sleep since forever. The next day, I was woken up by someone calling my name. I woke up to find an iris message in front of me. The fates were looking at me with an amused expression on their faces. I scowled and asked," For what reason did you wake me up at such an early hour?" I checked using my time powers that it was 6 in the morning. The Fates' expression turned serious and they said , " kronos has started gathering more allies for the war. I was taken aback when I realized that us seven gods were going to face 16 titans . The war had gotten harder with the participation of Oceanus,Tethys,Themis , Prometheus and Epimetheus. These five titans had remained neutral during the first war . But now Kronos had convinced them to join him.
I thanked the three ladies for their information and got up to wake the others. When everyone was awake, I explained the situation to them. They all panicked and Hades said," We are doomed . We will never be able to defeat 16 titans on our own." The others grudgingly nodded their heads.
" Well, I don't know about you guys , but I am going to take my revenge . I am going to make Kronos fade . I have sworn it on the river styx and I fill fulfill my oath. Even if I have to face them alone, I will not back down . I will kill Kronos , or will die trying to do so. Now tell me, are you with me or are you going to surrender and work as his personal slaves?"
My words seemed to have the effect I expected. The five of them along with Rhea were smiling at me and nodding, while Hera was gazing at me with an unknown expression. "So Perseus, what do you plan to do next?" asked Rhea.
" Please call me Percy. All my close friends call me that. Besides, Perseus makes me sound old."
They chuckled and nodded in acceptance.
"As for my plan, I think we should focus on getting as many allies as possible. Also, we are going to go to a place to get your symbols of power made."
"Where is this place you speak of?" Asked Rhea.
I sighed nervously and whispered "Tartarus. "
Rhea gasped and shouted,"What? You can't go there . You will get killed."
I explained to her that only the elder cyclopes and the hundred handed ones could forge these weapons. Plus, they can be allies for the war.
Rhea grudgingly nodded and said," Fine, but please dont get killed in that place."
I turned to the three Male gods and asked them to go and wait outside.
After they were gone,I turned to the three female goddesses. I spoke," According to the stories, Zeus, being the egoistic idiot he is, made the cyclopes forge weapons only for the three of them. So , I am going to give you weapons for your symbols of power. Is it fine with you?"
They gave me nods of appreciation. Again, I noticed that Hera had a dazed look in her eyes. I ignored it for the time being. First I turned to d
Demeter. I closed my eyes and called for Kronos's scythe that I had used to kill him in the future with. The four ladies knew what it was and took a step back. I walked to Demeter and handed her the scythe. " This is the scythe of your father. I used it to kill him in the future. Now this belongs to you. Use it wisely."
She nodded and hugged me. She quickly pulled back and looked at Hera . Hera had an unreadable expression on her face. Was it jealousy? Nah . Why would she be jealous? I shook it off and turned to Hestia.
" Umm. You are actually a peaceful goddess and so do not have any weapon in the future. So , I will use my powers from Chronus to give you your domain.
I sent a quick prayer to the Fates and Lord Chronus. Then I placed my thumb oh Hestia's forehead and she glowed a bright orange. I pulled back and asked her to concentrate her emotions onto her hand . She did as she was told and gasped when her hand caught fire. The fire extinguished when she closed her palm. She thanked me and I smiled back at her.
Finally , I turned to Hera. I took out Annabeth's dagger and chanted a prayer to the Fates. The dagger flashed white colour and in it's place was a scepter with the head of a peacock feather. I handed it to Hera and told her with a serious expression, " This dagger belonged to my best friend before she sacrificed herself to save me. It can change into a sword whenever you want it to . Please use it wisely as it is very important to me."
She nodded and hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. She pulled back with a blush and said," Thank you Percy. I will not let you down."
I smiled and replied " I know you won't. That's why I trusted you with it. Also, I convinced the fates to give you the minor domain of constellations. You can use the stars to help you wheneveryou wish. But it won't work against Koios as he has strongercontrol over constellations than you."
She was thoroughly surprised and again pulled me into a hug . "Thank you so much."
"As I said, you're welcome. Now let's go. Dont wanna keep the big boys waiting, do we?"
They nodded and we headed outside.
