Chapter VIII
The Jet- Day. Red Hood and Ravager are sitting in their cell in the brig, waiting to be executed. Jericho stood guard outside.
Red Hood: Well, this sucks.
Ravager: No shit, Sherlock.
Red Hood: How long till we land?
Jericho: Silence Traitor!
Outside the brig, Amanda Waller was talking to someone over the phone.
Rick Flag: Hey Waller, did you get them?
Amanda Waller: I have Ravager in custody, Colonel. Artemis and Sportsmaster are still imprisoned in Russia.
Rick Flag: That's good news.
Amanda Waller: And Red Hood has betrayed us.
Rick Flag: Why?
Amanda Waller: He just did. He found out how I keep him in check.
Rick Flag: I mean, it isn't subtle.
Amanda Waller: It was only a matter of time, owing to the fact he once served the world's greatest detective. Anyway, how's the foot?
Rick Flag: Still sore. But I can still walk.
Amanda Waller (Under her breath): Must I do things myself?
Rick Flag: What was that?
Amanda Waller: Nothing.
Rick Flag: Just make sure they kill Ravager good. It still stings to take a step.
Amanda Waller: It will not fail.
Rick Flag: Hope not.
Flag hangs up the phone. Waller re-enters the brig and approaches Ravager and Red Hood.
Amanda Waller: We're landing in 4 hours. Just thought I'd let you know.
Red Hood: Thanks bitch.
Ravager: At least you didn't call her anything worse, like...
She whispers the word into his ear.
Red Hood: That's better. Waller, you're a fat cunt.
Amanda Waller: Smooth Mr Todd.
Red Hood: Not as smooth as me removing my cuffs.
Ravager looked at him, impressed. Waller was shocked.
Amanda Waller: How did you-
Red Hood: I learn from the best.
Red Hood quickly disarmed a soldier and used his gun to kill him he quickly shot Waller in the foot before she could call security.
Red Hood: Word of advice Waller; next time you hire someone, don't threaten to blow them up. Also, I quit.
Ravager: What were you thinking? I freed myself and was intending to escape, not shoot the fucking President!
Red Hood: Relax, I only shot her in the leg.
Ravager: Do you have any idea how major this is?
Red Hood: Least I didn't kill her.
Ravager: What part of 'you shot the president' don't you understand?!
Ravager groaned in annoyance.
Ravager: Come on!
They run out of the brig, into a line of soldiers aiming their guns.
Red Hood: She must've called them.
Ravager: No shit because your gun was loud.
Red Hood: I forgot the silencer, alright?
Red Hood pulled a round object out of his utility belt.
Ravager: Smoke grenade?
Red Hood: Watch. Now you see us...
He throws the grenade; smoke hides them from view.
Red Hood:... Now you don't.
The two quickly crawl into a vent while the soldiers frantically searched for them.
Red Hood: Insert movie quote right here.
Ravager: I've been in tighter situations.
Red Hood sighed.
Red Hood: You don't watch a lot of movies do you?
Ravager: My job prevents me from enjoying such leisure activities. I haven't been to a movie in years.
Flashback begins: Young Rose is sitting in a cinema with Joseph and Slade.
Slade: You enjoying this movie?
Young Rose: It's very violent.
Slade: The kind of stuff you'll have to learn.
Young Rose: Must we always be like this?
Slade: It's in your blood. Joseph, can you pass the popcorn?
Joseph passes the bucket to Slade. He offers some to Rose; she takes a handful and focuses on the movie.
Flashback ends.
In the present: Red Hood and Ravager escape the vents.
Ravager: So then the cop who shot a kid and swore to never use a gun again, killed the scary blonde German?
Red Hood: Yeah, watch it every Christmas.
Ravager: I think I'll check it out once I get home.
Red Hood: But first, weapons room.
Ravager: Which way?
Red Hood: First door on the right.
They turn right, and sure enough, there was a door with 'WEAPONS' painted on it. Red Hood takes out the control panel to the 'Weapons' room and fiddles with the cables. The door opens.
Red Hood: Open Sesame. Ladies first.
He beckons Ravager to enter first; she rolls her eye and enters. Red Hood follows in and closes the door.
They see silencers on display and also grenades. Red Hood tried to snatch a grenade but Ravager grabbed his hand, stopping him.
Ravager: Unless you want to be sucked out, leave it. I'll find my katanas.
Red Hood: Aren't these them?
He looks at a pair of identical swords. Ravager comes over. and picks them up, examining them closely.
Ravager: Yep. And they're still just as sharp.
Red Hood picks up two knives and puts them in his satchel.
Red Hood: Let's go, before something worse happens to the Crocks.
Ravager: If Artemis dies, she's gonna kill me.
Red Hood: Or me possess me and use my body to kill you.
Ravager lightly punches him in the arm.
Ravager: So, where are the smaller jets?
Red Hood: I know the way.
They run into a hanger and see an old timey plane with two seats, one for piloting the other for shooting.
Red Hood: Can you fly?
Ravager: Yes. How do you think I got to Russia in the first place?
Red Hood: Very well.
Red Hood jumped into the gunner side while Ravager jumped into the pilot seat. Several soldiers, Waller at the front, enter the hangar.
Amanda Waller: Stop them!
Red Hood: Start the engines!
Ravager activates the engine and the plane begins to ascend. Red Hood used his grappling hook and aimed it at the lever that operated the hangar door; he pulled the trigger and the hook grabbed onto the lever. Red Hood yanked it and the door opened.
Ravager then flew the plane out of the much larger plane just as the soldiers tried to stop them.
Soldier: They got away.
Amanda Waller: What do you have to follow them?! Remote controlled toy planes?!
Soldier: Pilots, start your engines!
Suddenly, the remaining planes in the hanger blew up.
Amanda Waller: Slimy little shits.
On the plane: Ravager and Red Hood were far from Waller.
Red Hood: How far to Russia?
Ravager: Not sure.
Red Hood: We've been flying East for god knows how long so, East.
Ravager: Nothing should stop us now.
Red Hood: Next stop: Russia.
The plane flies off into the sunset.
