Hey guys! Wow its so weird being up here. I just wanted to say thanks for reading this far into the story. I am really excited for this chapter and I've put my very best into it. See you down at the bottom.

Tension

It had been a couple of months since Sabine's life day. The two never thought their relationship would have progressed so far so fast, but here they were. Lying in bed after another night of making love, Sabine awoke to her com going off. The small terminal read her mother's frequency. That really got her attention, she hadn't really talked to her mother since she found Ezra. That meant she had no idea about their relationship or even that she was still alive.

Sensing her anxiety, Ezra woke up to find Sabine staring at her com terminal. "Who is it love?" He asked rubbing his left eye.

"My mother." Sabine said in a worried voice. She was about to hit the answer key when she realized she was not wearing anything but a bed sheet. Quickly making a mad dash to find a shirt and underwear, she had left Ezra utterly speechless at the view he received from the unclothed Mandalorian. Making her way back to the bed, seeing Ezra's face, she let out a very girly giggle before asking him to leave for a minute.

Doing as he was asked, Ezra walked into the kitchen to make a pot of morning caf and space waffles. He wondered why Sabine asked him to leave. Surely, she had mentioned to her family that they were together. Leaving it to a matter to be discussed at a later time.

After seeing her boyfriend walk out of the room, Sabine answered the com that was surprisingly still active. Seeing her family for the first time in over 6 months was nice, but she was also scared that they would ask about Ezra.

"Hello Sabine, its been a while since we've had contact." Her mother, Ursa Wren, stated matter of factly.

"Indeed mother, life has been a little busy as of late." Sabine said trying to not sound anxious, but failing miserably.

Able to see the bed behind her, Ursa grew a questioning yet stern face towards her daughter. "It would appear you had someone with you when we first called." Not implying that she knew who but making a point she was not pleased with her daughter's actions.

"Yes mother, I have someone here with me." Sabine sighed and sheepishly looked at her bed, seeing the disturbed far side.

"And judging by your ruffled hair and the shirt twice your size, you engaged in some 'ahem' activities?" her mother questioned with a chastising tone.

Blushing more than ever, Sabine had no idea how to react to her mother's statements. So, she sat there under the harsh gaze of her mother, wanting to curl up and die. "M-Mother, I-I.." Sabine stuttered out.

"At least tell me that you have recited the marriage vows as per our custom?" Ursa took a moment to read her daughter's face. "And it would appear you have not done so. Do you realize the scandal this could bring upon our family? Do you even intend to marry this man?"

That caught Sabine off guard, she had never thought about marrying Ezra. Sure, she loved the idea, but it all seemed so surreal. She was deep in thought when her mother spoke again.

"Well?... Do you intend to marry this man?" her mother asked just as cold as Hoth.

"Ursa dear," her father Alrich spoke for the first time this call. "You do realize that our daughter has grown up and will live her life as she chooses?"

"I realize that she is creating a ton of issues for the clan if she does not marry the man she is with." Ursa stated sternly.

"Mother, if I may." Sabine started as she heard the automatic door open to her left. In walked Ezra, wearing a shirt and long pants.

Seeing the look on his lover's face, and the look her parents, (well really just Ursa) gave him, he metally kicked himself for interrupting.

"Bridger? I thought you were still lost in the unknown regions?" Alrich said kindly, happy to see the man who saved his life almost 7 years ago. "Regardless welcome back."

"Thank you sir, its good to be back." Ezra almost stuttered as Ursa's eyed pierced his very soul.

"Sabine? What all have you been keeping from us?" Ursa asked her daughter, not breaking eye contact with Ezra.

"Mother, I-I" Sabine wanted to tell them, but she was afraid her mother would not except her decision.

"Countess Wren if I may. Sabine may not have told you everything because she feared your reaction to her decision to.. well, be with me." Ezra said semi boldly, shocking Sabine who felt like happy that he had come to save her.

"Sabine? Is this true?" her father asked while trying to read his wife's face, which was borderline impossible.

"Yes father. I love Ezra and he loves me. I wanted to tell you, but every time I dialed your frequency, I got cold feet and couldn't do it." Sabine declared, glancing at her mother and father. She didn't know what her mother was thinking, but she was sure she wouldn't like it.

Tensions ran high for the next few ear deafening silent moments. Finally, her mother, of all people, spoke up with softer voice than before.

"Sabine, we didn't want you to fear us and have to hide this. We want you to be happy, and if that means being with Bridger, then, so be it." Ursa said staring at her daughter and her lover. "But don't think you are off the hook yet young lady. He must prove himself worthy of being with you, as per our customs."

"Mother you know that I'd be with him even if he doesn't pass the trials, right?" Sabine asked trying to keep Ezra from doing something that might get him killed.

"That is the way it has to be, I expect you here within the month to put young Bridger to the test." With that Ursa shut off the com on her end, leaving Sabine to fear for Ezra's life.

"I'm gonna take that as this could go very bad." Ezra said trying not to make light of the situation.

"Yes, this could go bad." Was all she could say before she fell into his arms, just wanting to be held by the man she loved.

The trip had been planned and was set for 3 weeks from that day. This allowed Sabine to be with Ezra as much as possible before her parents, decided if he was worthy or not. Ezra did not seem worried at all, which worried her to no end. 'How could he be so calm about this?'

In all actuality, Ezra was terrified. He was already having doubts about whether he was worthy of Sabine Wren and her parents basically just told him to prove just that. He didn't want her to worry for him, so he wore a façade to keep her fears at bay. This seemed to quell her fears for now, but little did they know the next few weeks were going to be Hell.
