Chapter 7 - Exorcism
Kol and Anastasia were in front of Denver's high school looking at the students who were coming out of it, ready to go home. They were looking for a certain teenage boy.
« Look, that's him. Let's go. », said Anastasia, finding the. Person they were looking for. Holding Kol's arm, they go in front of him.
« Hey Jeremy! »
« Anastasia? What are you doing here? And who's this? », asks Jeremy with a confused look, glancing at Kol up and down.
« Geez, Jeremy, no I'm happy to see you or anything? And this is Kol he's my…uh my- »
« Her boyfriend, Kol. Kol Mikaelson. », answers Kol with a smirk.
« Her- her boyfriend ? What? When? »
« No, he's not, he's just joking. » Anastasia then looked at Kol with a look that says ''what are you doing?''. « Anyways, we can't do this here. Jeremy there are some important things we have to tell you. Do you know anywhere we can go to, possibly your room, or maybe a hotel. »
« Tell me? About what? » asks the little Gilbert with a frown.
« Listen mate, we can't tell you here. So how about you lead us to your room. », says Kol with annoyance and anger in his tone.
After thinking for a little bit, Jeremy agrees. And they all leave to the Gilberts uncle's and aunt's house who he was staying with.
Finally arriving at the lovely 2 story-house, the siblings get out of the car while Kol goes to fetch his daggered brother in the back.
« Hey Jeremy, is there anybody here? », asks Anastasia, not wanting anybody else to be there for what is about to happen. Luckily, Jeremy explains that their uncle usually comes late at night while their aunt has a nightshift today.
Kol who was at the door, with Finn on his shoulder patiently waiting to be invited in. Seeing him outside not moving but also with a body, Jeremy expectantly looks at his sister for explanation.
« Um… That is Finn, Kol's brother. They were partying last night and he drank too much vodka, so he's passed out right now. But can you invite him in, he's like an old school guy. »
« Uh yeah, okay. Come on in Kol. »
« Thanks mate. », Kol says, rolling his eyes.
« So onwards to your room brother! », says Anastasia, following her brother to his room, dreading a little on how she is going to drop the news.
Entering his room, Jeremy discharges his bag and when he goes to sit on his bed, kol drops Finn's body on it, making the dagger in his heart seen-able. Jeremy instantly jumps and backs off from them.
« What is that in his heart? Wh-what did you-did you do? Is-is he…dead? Oh my god you killed him and now I'll be an accomplice to your crime. », says a frightened Jeremy scared to shit right now.
« Kol ! You shouldn't have dropped him on the bed like that. » says Anastasia with a disbelief look on his face. « Anyways, Jeremy, listen okay? That's one of the things we have to talk about. And no he's not dead. Well, maybe a little like between life and death? Don't worry when we'll pull the dagger out, he'll come back to life. I'll explain okay, sit down first. »
After a moment of standing dumbfounded, Jeremy goes sit down on the chair next to his desk. « Okay, I'm ready. » And Anastasia starts explaining…
« Wait, wait, wait. So if I get this right, you're my sister but at the same time you're not because you come from another world and when you died you came here…in this um…what, TV SHOW ? Elena got a vampire, Damon who's the brother of Stefan, her boyfriend also a vampire, to erase my memories about everything I knew about the supernatural world? Kol here is one of the Original vampires, the first one created and his brother Klaus needed to sacrifice our sister to free himself from a curse his mother casted to lock his wolf side, making him a hybrid? » says Jeremy after having been explained some big points, but not everything though, it would take at least 3 days but oh well, Anastasia did her best to sum everything. « How-how do I even know that whatever you're saying is true? Are you sure you're not drunk or sick Anastasia and…Kol? », asks Jeremy worried for his sister's sanity.
« Jeremy, I know it sounds crazy but you have to believe me, I mean you do love mystic falls. And- » Anastasia didn't get to finish her sentence because she got cut from Kol, vamp speeding in front of him all vamped face out. Which of course makes Jeremy scream and scared. « Is that enough proof for you mate? », taunts Kol, clearly enjoying the scared look in Jeremy's eyes. 'Seriously, I couldn't wait to do it. It's so funny.'
Obviously the little Gilbert's sister does not agree. « KOL!Ugh, you…impatient childish complainer, you scared him. This is not how it was supposed to go. You could have waited a bit, could you not? »
« Oh come on, he asked how he can believe us, I just gave him the easiest way to do so. And plus that talk was going on and on. », he says with a fake pout even if he was really pouting inside.
Scoffing at him, she turns to her coma-bro who still looked scared and started to approach him. « Jere…hey Jere. He's not going to hurt you okay, I'll protect you, like I can. Look I'm a human and I know I look like your sister and I might not be but, I promise you that I'll protect. You can trust me okay…Okay? », slowly and surely she's already in front of him, her hand stretched out for to take. Not going to lie, she actually likes the Gilbert kid.
Jeremy is still scared but because he feels a pull towards her, he decides to trust his guts and feelings. So he accepts her hand making her smile at him, a smile he soon returns. They both then make their way to the bed, at least far from Finn's body.
« Okay so what if I… if I believe you but then what? », he finds himself asking, wanting to know what's going to happen.
« Well first of all, we could-''coughs'', I mean, Kol could give you your memories back. Then we will proceed to make an exorcism and then possibly find a hotel and finally get back to Mystic falls. Are you okay with Kol compelling you to remember? », she asks, wanting him to have a right to choose. « Or if you don't want to know about anything supernatural he could compel you to forget them. I don't want to put you in danger, I actually came here because I want you protected and ignorance is definitely not a way to protect someone. It will get you killed. But I also wanted to spend time with my now coma-brother, get to know you more than what I saw on the show since I'm in this world, or coma or whatever. And perhaps have a partner in crime! So, what do you say ? »
For the whole time she spoke, Kol looked at her wondering, asking himself about how odd she is, weird even. But also how she is looking at her brother, a brother who is not even her real brother, vowing protection to him and giving him a choice. A choice he didn't get from the doppelgänger. A part of him wishes to have been looked at that by his brothers and sister, to have been given a choice by his parents. 'Of course that's so in the past now.'
« Anastasia or Mazikeen, even though you're not from this world, and you pretty much look like my sister Anastasia, I'm choosing to trust and call you my sister because, after waking up in this world you did what Elena didn't, you gave me a choice. We're not even from the same world, not even related, but you already call me your brother and you made a trip just to tell me the truth. It proves that I can trust you. », says Jeremy , and he meant every word he said. Not even thinking twice he hugged her. He felt her tense, but after a moment she hugged him back.
« Aww, isn't that just so touching… two little Gilberts hugging each other after having a moment of- », starts Kol feeling left out, but of course, he will never say it aloud.
« Shut up Panda! » says Anastasia all giggling, while her and Jeremy part from the hug.
« Okay, okay. So mate, are you ready to leave the ''left out of it'', world and come to the ''oh wait,I already knew it'' world? »
« Kol!…That's a good one actually. », says Anastasia while laughing.
« I know maze. », he answers with a cocky smile. « So let's go on with it. »
And with that, he goes in front of Jeremy and says : « Remember. »
After being compelled to remember, Jeremy sits down on his chair, processing all the forgotten information.
« Are you okay Jere? Do you want something? », asks her sister squatting in front of him, worried he might have a headache.
« I'm okay it's just, it's a lot to take in. I- I remember, Vi-Vicky died, Stefan killed her and…and then E-Elena asked him to compel me to forget. I also remember the sacrifice…Oh and I dated a vampire. And being compelled to leave. », he says feeling sad and angry at the same time how could she do that and she dared making him leave his birthplace without his consent. And Bonnie, oh Bonnie, how he misses her.
« Oh, i forgot to tell you about it. Are you okay? », she says.
« Keen, it's okay, don't worry. I'll be fine and plus we will be back to Mystic falls tomorrow. », reassures Jeremy to his sister not wanting her to feel sorry about it, it is not her fault.
« Okay good then. So you remember everything? », she asks him. After he nods, she goes in front of him and…slaps him. « Ow! Why did you do that? What's wrong? » Jeremy yells, while Kol laughs.
« Oh, um…sorry…not. I had to do it. Don't worry if I suddenly slap you out of blue. You know you did many bad shits in the show, so yeah. », she says scratching the back of her head.
« So, what about this guy…um Finn right? », Jeremy says, massaging his cheek and pointing at Kol's brother changing the conversation.
Turning around, Anastasia moves to Finn's side. « Right, I almost forgot. That's the second part of the plan. » Turning to the boys, she joins her hands together like those villains in movies while smirking. « We're going to do an exorcism on him. You're ready? »
Both boys look at her like she has grown two heads. But it's okay, she doesn't mind.
« Come on we must be fast before night comes. Kol can you tie him with the ropes that are in my bag please. »
« Sure maze. », agrees Kol, putting his brother on the chair and tying him.
« Okay, um…Jere, if you don't want to stay and watch you don't have to, you know? »
Thinking for a moment, Jeremy decides to stay, after all, he's already in the supernatural world, there are things that shouldn't be shocking at all.
Sighing, the only girl in the room walks up to Finn and takes out the dagger. All of them now watching how the veins become less prominent since he needs blood for them to disappear.
Finn wakes up, finally being able to breathe again and being in reality. When he opens his eyes, he's confused, he sees three people in front of him: a girl and 2 boys, Kol being one of them. 'Is it them who daggered me?' He asks himself. But why?
« Hey Finn…um I know you might be ''coughs; coughs''. Yes, I know that you are mad at me, but I'll explain why I did what I did. Yes it was me who daggered you, it was kind of a dumb dangerous move but oh well. But it was because…well I couldn't really tell you some…um things straight away. I sort of had to talk to Kol privately, but I couldn't do it with you being there. And- »
« Darling, not that your rambling is annoying but you might want to give him blood first. », mocks Kol.
Looking back at Kol and then Finn again, Anastasia smiles at him sheepishly, scratching the back of her head. 'Right'. Putting the dagger in front of her, she pricks her thumb with it, putting blood on it, then she approaches Finn with it.
« What is she doing? », asks Jeremy to Kol
« She's giving him blood. », even though Kol wants to disagree with her about giving her blood to his brother, he knows not to come between her and her goal. He clearly remembers what happened this morning, when they stopped at a coffee shop. He bought her a latte and himself an espresso. When he came back with the drinks, not only did she throw the hot drink at his chest, thank God, but she got out of the car and screamed bloody murder for not getting her hot chocolate. Well all that can be said is that you can handle a baby and a toddler at the same but not her.
After Finn licked the blood on the dagger, he threw all of them a glare.
« Is that Niklaus' way of daggering us now? Using a group of teenagers to do his dirty job? Pathetic ! Where is he now? COME OUT HERE BROTHER! » Finn starts screaming.
Anastasia was not expecting this, but who could blame him, that's usually Klaus' way of doing things, daggering his siblings. « Hey Finn, it's okay, maybe not but…um, it was not Klaus' doing, he has nothing to do with this. »
« What do you mean? », of course he can not believe this.
« Actually that's my doing, like I said, I daggered you. Remember, we went to the Gilberts' house. »
« Right, so explain, wasn't it supposed to be a trip…And you brother, always backstabbing people. All of you, liars like you were born to-. »
« Have a care of how you speak, brother. Me, backstabbing you, if you do not remember I was also daggered til the moment we were all out in the day again. And aren't y-. »
« STOP! BOTH OF YOU STOP! We don't have time for this. », shouts Anastasia, tired of the bickering. « Finn, you and I both know that when it comes to backstabbing people, your parents, most importantly your mother has mastered it, hasn't she? »
Finn pales, looking at her suspiciously, « What do you mean? »
« Oh come on, Finn… », she starts, slowly circling him, now finding herself behind him. « You and I are the only ones in this room that know what was to happen tonight, don't we? »
« What was going to happen? What are you talking about? » says Kol, lost in those assumptions.
« Nothing. », answers Finn quickly. Seriously, Anastasia is surprised, Finn is to say…pathetic, losing his posture like this is weird, 'shouldn't he be trying to free himself already?'.
« Well, you see, as a Mikaelson, Kol you shouldn't be surprised to find out that one of your siblings is trying to kill you, why and how. Unfortunately in this situation, we're not talking about siblings but parents, mostly mother. », She starts. Then continues with a softer tone towards Kol, « Your mother has come back to life to kill you and your siblings Kol… »
Immediately, Kol's response is as expected.
