(Chapter 9: The dawn of the final battle)
"We've found you, Kenny. We're going to send in some reinforcements." Captain Gordon spoke through the transceiver within the submarine, Kenny smiled at this.
"Great, but how are we going to fight back MechaGodzilla with everyday military weaponry? It doesn't work." Kenny asked, feeling happy that they was finally able to find him and his whereabouts, but concerned on how they were going to deal with the things on the island.
"It's going to be in the form of a helluva big lizard." Laura said excitedly, Kenny's smile grew even wider.
"Oh yes, how long will it take him to arrive though?" Kenny continued to ask, pondering whether he should stay in this small cave until Godzilla got to the island or if he should move on land now that he was right on the island.
"Monster Island isn't that far away, we'll lure him with the ORCA towards your location." Captain Gordon announced, happy to hear that Kenny was still alive and waiting for the reinforcements.
"Good, make it snappy though, I don't mean to sound rude or anything. I just need help and fast, they're gonna find me eventually." Kenny suggested, Captain Gordon took this into consideration.
"Alright, Colonel Belinsky, go check out Madison. She's the brains behind that device, hell, she makes the things."
"Affirmative."
Laura would leave the docking bay, heading to the living quarters. The living quarters was on the third floor down from the surface, each room looked similar to a college dorm room, some rooms were larger than others, capable of fitting more people within them. It was essentially an underground neighborhood of rooms ranging from small to medium to large in size.
Madison's room was a medium sized one, as she entered, all of the lights were closed off with the exception of the television. The light of the TV filling up the entire darkened room almost, the light within the hallway also casted some light into the dark room as well. Madison stirred some before Laura would ultimately wake her up.
"Madison, Madison. We're requesting your help-" Laura began, making the young woman stir even more to the point to which her eyes began to slowly lift themselves open.
"Thank you..." She groaned, apparently Madison was in the middle of having a dream of sorts.
"Madison?" Laura asked, sounding confused.
"I'd be honored to call her que...Laura?" Madison continued but suddenly stopped dreaming when she noticed the faint silhouette of Laura standing in the light of the doorway.
"Are you awake?" Laura chuckled, Madison slid up from her laying position to be sitting on the side of the bed.
"Yeah, I am now." Madison replied, her voice sounding tired, feeling the effects of being sluggish after waking up from a good rest or nap.
"Good, we might need you for a mission we're about to go on." Laura announced, Madison stood up and headed into the bathroom to turn on the lights. The brown haired woman groaned as her eyes needed a moment to adjust to the lighting, exposing a white shirt being worn on her torso and pink panties being worn on her waist area to cover up her private parts on her body.
"What mission?" Madison groaned, grabbing a rag from the rack on the wall, turning on the faucet in the sink.
"We've been on a mission to try and locate the whereabouts of Titanosaurus, and MechaGodzilla. We've found them within the Pitcairn Islands, Monster Island is not too far away from that island, and we are thinking about using the ORCA to lure Godzilla to them so he can get the job done." Laura explained, this along with Madison gently rubbing the warm wet rag across her face, awoken her almost instantly from her sluggish stupor.
"Wait a minute, you've found where the ERR hideout is?" Madison asked, sounding intrigued.
"Yes, MechaGodzilla as well as Titanosaurus has been located at the Pitcairn Islands." Laura answered, a smirk on her face.
"The GDF MechaGodzilla, we cannot destroy it. It is one of our best mechs, if we lose it, I don't know what we will do if Godzilla somehow dies..." Madison protested some, she wanted to keep the mechanical replica of Godzilla around, it was Floyd that she wanted to be destroyed.
"I understand, but at the moment, it looks like we've got no other choice. We have more mechs being created, MechaGodzilla isn't the only one." Laura explained, Madison raised an eyebrow at this.
"What other mechs do we have?"
"Jet Jaguar, he's still in the prototype stage, but he's got the makings of an even better mech. He's built to be much more slimmer than our MechaGodzilla, but it has similar firepower." Laura said, Madison smiled with a nod of her head.
"That's good, are you needing me right away?" Madison went on to ask.
"Yes, come with me. Captain Gordon has called an osprey for us at the surface, do you have any ORCA devices in this room?"
"Yeah, I do. I'll be out there in a second, just allow me to get all of my clothes on, and get the ORCA."
With that, Laura left Madison alone so she could get all of her clothing on. She honored her parents, when she was working within the labs, she wore her lab coat and clothing that her mother worn. When she was out doing other tasks for Monarch, she wore the clothing of her father. Today she wore the clothing that belonged to her father, or clothing that looked like his at least, it wasn't exactly the same, all of it was lost at Outpost 54.
After around ten or so minutes, which was the total amount of time needed for Madison to get all of her gear and clothing with her, as well as the ORCA device; Madison arrived at the helipad on the surface where Laura was waiting for her.
"Are you ready?" The blonde asked her student, to which Madison nodded with a stern expression on her face, it was time to strike back at the ERR. No longer would Monarch be a damsel in distress, no longer would they be helpless, and no longer would they lose. This would be the turning point in the war against factions.
The osprey took off with Laura, and Madison in it, as well as a few other soldiers just in case things went South. Their destination would be to Monster Island, to lure Godzilla to the PitCairn Islands, the final battle would be soon to commence.
(PitCairn Islands)
Kenny had managed to successfully land the submarine, evading Titanosaurus just barely. The beast had given up on trying to find the submarine, Kenny made his way towards the cave situated on a rock at a decent height.
Floyd detected Kenny on the radar within MechaGodzilla, angered, he turned the mechanical giant's head to face where Kenny was located. The eyes of Floyd went wide when he seen the soldier approaching the cave!
Floyd's equipment were within that cave, he couldn't risk blowing it up. Angered, the right hand man decided to leave the large machine, he was going to take on Kenny one on one.
From his location, it would take some time for Kenny to reach the cave. The soldier could hear the loud booms of the footsteps of Titanosaurus, strangely enough, the mechanical noises in which MechaGodzilla emitted when he moved, had ceased.
When Kenny reached the cave, the first thing he noticed was he could see the other side. The cave didn't tunnel into the ground, but another thing he noticed was all of the equipment with two different logos. One of them was the ERR logo, and the other was the two triangle logos of APEX. Floyd had definitely been in this exact location, and his assumption was confirmed when his voice came from the other end of the cave, Kenny looked up to face Floyd from one entrance of the cave to the other one at the end of the incredibly small tunnel (in terms of length.)
"Congratulations for making it this far, I thought you would've perished out in the ocean-" Floyd began, scowling at his enemy. Kenny's eyes narrowed out of absolute hatred for Floyd.
"You should've perished, just like all of those that I have killed before. Can't you see that your world of Monarch is crumbling around you? Everything that the company has built is slowly being demolished. You give sympathy to those beasts that can destroy this planet, that can wipe away all human life, and all life in general within hours." Floyd continued, his hateful glare lingered.
"We sympathize with the titans that are the ultimate defenders of the Earth, you aim to destroy innocent lives to push an agenda. You proclaim these innocent civilians as martyrs when they're nothing else but victims to your wicked ideals. What will happen when Godzilla dies in battle? We're open and vulnerable for any other extraterrestrial monster to decimate this beautiful world." Kenny said in response, Floyd slowly began to reach for his firearm, that to which Kenny could clearly see.
"In the long run, you will understand how our ideals are beneficial. Or should I say, your allies will..." Floyd hissed as he fired at Kenny, the echo of the pistol bouncing off the walls of the cave. Thankfully, Kenny had time to move out of the way due to the decent distance, the bullet clipped his arm, making a bloody streak on his forearm as he took cover.
"Fucking hypocrite!" Kenny screamed, his voice filled with pain and rage.
Floyd entered the cave, taking cover behind a piece of his equipment while Kenny took cover around the corner on the outside of the tunnel's entrance. Thoughts rushed through Kenny's head, the lives this bastard has taken needed to be avenged, this had to be the moment. For Jackson Barnes, Diane Foster, Mark Russel, the many civilians, and last but not least, Ford Brody.
Kenny took a grenade out from his tactical vest, and pulled the pin. Floyd seen this, and immediately began to run in the other direction, fleeing the tunnel. Even though he escaped the fatal blast, he was still hit hard, sending him tumbling down a hill!
Kenny seen that Floyd had gotten away, but he wasn't going to let him escape that easily, the soldier rushed through the tunnel as fast as he could, stopping at the other end of the tunnel to see the hill that Floyd had rolled down, he took a quick glance to his left to see the pathway that Floyd had taken to get back up to this tunnel.
Floyd ended up coming to an edge, and went plummeting fifteen feet down into a body of water that broke his fall, but it still hurt like a bitch when he landed. The water being just deep enough to break the fall, but also shallow enough for him to not drown in due to the heavier weight of his armor weighing his body down.
The dark haired man growled in agony, his face strained up in pain, and his teeth bared. He tried to reach for his firearm, but he lost it when the grenade burst, the impact of the non-fatal blast (again thanks to the distance,) had knocked the pistol from his hands.
"Urgh..dammit.." Floyd growled as he slowly treaded through the water to get back to land in which was nearby, it appeared to be a rocky shore with a large open area with several weeds, bushes, and tall grass making it seem more dense than it actually was. There were trees nearby the small cliff as well, forming a semi-circle.
"You can't run!" Kenny screamed furiously, looking around for Floyd, he didn't find him, but he found a pistol laying within shrubbery nearby. It was on the steep hill in which Floyd had tumbled down, a smirk came to Kenny's face as he reached down to grab the pistol, only to lose his footing, and it was Kenny who was stumbling down the hill just as Floyd was.
Floyd desperately looked around himself, not wanting to get killed by unexpected gunfire. This wasn't going to be an easy battle against the determined Kenny Anderson, who splashed down into the water within mere seconds.
Kenny groaned in pain, rising out of the water as he held on to two pistols. His eyes caught glimpse of a dark haired man, and he instantly opened fire, when he seen Floyd's body quickly go beneath the water, he believed that he had finished him off...but he didn't.
Floyd had seen Kenny taking aim, and he dove into the water right when the trigger was pulled, narrowly missing death. This caused Kenny to stand in place, looking up in to the sky as tears began to roll down his cheeks, overcome with joy of the thought that he killed the evil bastard in which had slain several of his friends, and innocent people.
"Ford, Diane, Jackson...This is for you..." Kenny said between sobs of happiness, that was until he noticed the water in the distance moving...
"No...how?" Kenny continued, his body was wracked with pain after he took that fall into the water.
Floyd's body rose from the water, right next to a dense patch of shrubbery including thick bushes, and tall grass. Now that he was out of the water, he could easily sprint around wherever he wanted.
"Eat led, you monster!" Kenny screamed in rage, unloading round after round from his dual wielded pistols, causing Floyd to rush into the shrubbery. He heard Floyd grunt loudly in pain, signifying that at least one bullet managed to strike him, but it was non-lethal.
"You son of a bitch!" Floyd screamed, feeling the pain of the bullet burying into his body. He continued to push through the pain, trying to traverse through the tall grass and shrubbery.
Kenny treaded through the water, pushing as hard as he could to reach land, but he was all too late as Floyd managed to scamper away like he always did.
"You cannot run forever, Floyd!" Kenny called out, furious that he didn't get to the enemy in time.
(Monster Island)
"Are you sure that we're in the right location?" Madison asked, the two of them were gazing down at the large island in which was once known as Skull Island. They were looking for a specific area that Godzilla's den was located, his den was located on the NorthEast most corner of the island, a large cave was situated in that area, the cave would lead down into the Hollow Earth via an underwater tunnel.
Laura checked the radiation meter to discover that it spiked dramatically as the osprey began to lower itself down towards the sandy beach close to the cave, the blonde turned her head to face Maddie, and with a nod of her head, it was time to activate the ORCA.
The osprey landed, Madison stepped out onto the beach. The evening sky would be moments from turning into a beautiful sunset sky, however there were dark clouds of a severe thunderstorm looming in the distance, the wind had already began to pick up into a harsh breeze.
The wind blew through Madison's flowing brown hair, the waves crashed against the rocks over and over as the wind picked up. The woman then faced the cave, and she got into a kneeling position, opening up the device.
Madison flipped through the bio-acoustic logs, tapping the one that belonged to Titanus Gojira. A low throbbing pulsation boomed throughout the island, it could be heard echoing into the cave. The woman picked the device back up before heading back inside of the osprey, where Laura and the few soldiers happened to be waiting.
Within seconds, Godzilla emerged from the massive cave. His gigantic body towering into the skies above, the King of the Monsters inhaled, and then exhaled through his nostrils, the osprey raised itself back into the air, being guided by the pilot towards PitCairn Islands. The king of the beasts followed after the aircraft, marching out into the water as he took beneath the waves, his jagged dorsal plates sticking out of the water.
"It's time to end this, they've won many battles in this war, and this is the turning point. This is where we begin to win..." Laura said.
(PitCairn Islands)
Kenny was taking shelter an abandoned restaurant, there was indeed some living places, and a few towns here and there, but there wasn't many. This entire island was warned by Floyd almost an entire day earlier to leave in whatever way they could, or else it would certainly be destroyed. All of the food had been saved, so much had been left behind. The island that the action was taking place had a town known as Adamstown.
Kenny had been walking for several hours, and right now he was chowing down on a hamburger that he had stolen from McDonalds. He was walking on a path heading up from Adamstown, the soldier stumbled across two signs. One of the signs had fallen over, one was still standing. One the sign in which was still standing, it said that the highest point of the island was located West if he continued up the path.
His thoughts raced through his head, wondering if this island could be an entrypoint to the Hollow Earth, as it is rarely talked about, he was curious if the governments of the world were keeping something secret on this island, or covering something up. He pulled out the radiation meter only to see it spiking!
The titan radiation continued to climb higher and higher at a rapid rate, he raced up the path, all the way to where he could no longer hike up the trail. Kenny discovered a small shack, along with a few benches sitting in random locations, mostly under palm trees in the shade. He had a perfect view of the ocean from here, at the highest point of the island looking Westward. He could also see the gigantic storm cloud that was soon to engulf the entire island, the sunlight was fleeting minute by minute.
Kenny looked on another sign, it told how far away certain locations were, such as New York, Sydney, Paris, and London to name a few in kilometers.
Meanwhile, within the cockpit of MechaGodzilla, Floyd had returned. Having removed the bullet from his back, using the radar to look for any possible threats. He took his eyes off of the radar to call Alan Jonah, who picked up seconds later.
"Floyd, is there any updates?" Alan Jonah was heard asking from the other line.
"Yeah, one of those Monarch pests has infiltrated the island. All of the inhabitants are empty, there is nothing worth destroying here to be honest. That insect, Kenny Anderson is still lurking around..." Floyd hissed in annoyance, Alan Jonah groaned in anger.
"How could Kenny find you?" The British madman asked.
"I don't know, but when I find him, he'll die. Anyways, what city do you wish me to take out next? I am ready, and Titanosaurus is ready as well." Floyd asked, wondering what city within the USA should be destroyed next.
"West Virginia, new DC is my target. They cannot keep switching up new location for the nation's capital, with Godzilla and Kong gone, nothing will stand in our way." Alan Jonah answered, Floyd smirked.
"As you...WHAT!?" Floyd went to say, but his voice turned into one of shock when he seen large jagged spines advancing towards the location of MechaGodzilla and Titanosaurus, an osprey flying high in the air.
"Madison, is there any way you can send the ORCA signal to MechaGodzilla?" Laura asked, Madison nodded, and suddenly flipped to some sort of acoustic belonging to the GDF's MechaGodzilla.
"Wait a minute, how does a machine have any bio-acoustics?" Laura asked.
"The Global Defense Force has been working on improving the ORCA, this is the latest model, the reason MechaGodzilla has an acoustic is just in case he got lost, or if his pilot died." Madison answered.
A blue glow began to shine from outside of the osprey, everyone within the aircraft looked concerned for one another.
"Godzilla's about to fire that atomic ray at us, we need to leave!" The pilot screamed, a loud hum of radiation intensifying on the outside.
"Come on, Maddie. Hurry!" Laura exclaimed, everyone within the aircraft began to panic.
"I'm trying!" Madison screamed, fiddling with the advanced controls of how to lock on to MechaGodzilla's acoustics.
From within MechaGodzilla, Floyd took aim with the maser cannon within the mouth of the large machine.
"Farewell, Monarch, it's been fun..." Floyd said with a smirk, but right before he could press the button to fire, there was a mechanical throbbing noise from within the cockpit, echoing to the outside.
"What's going on!?" Floyd asked himself, looking around until he seen a blue light approaching the large two windows within the cockpit, the large windows were the eyes.
"Wait a minute, NO!" Floyd screamed in terror when the atomic ray of Godzilla slammed right into MechaGodzilla's head, cracking one of the eyes, making the gigantic machine take a tumble down to the ground.
"Excellent work, now we need to get out of here!" Laura screamed, that was until a voice crackled in on her transceiver.
"L-L-Laura, it's me, Kenny. Are you alright?" Kenny asked from within the transceiver, Laura couldn't believe it, but she was more than happy to hear her boyfriend's voice.
"Yes, Kenny. I am here!" She exclaimed excitedly.
"I'm on the highest point of the island, the Western Shores is where I am located, come to me and land whatever you're in!" Kenny screamed through the transceiver.
"Will do-" Laura began before speaking to the pilot.
"Take us to the highest point of the island, look out for Kenny." She finished, Laura looked out of the window to see Godzilla making landfall as MechaGodzilla began to slowly lift itself back to its feet.
Titanosaurus marched to MechaGodzilla's side, as the King of the Monsters stared his enemies down intensely. Remembering what they done to him back in Stockton, the wound on his chest hadn't been completely healed, he was going into this still damaged...
