The next came along and Maxwell did say a word since they left house. Eda, King, Luz and Maxwell were at Hexside as they were backstage at the school's auditorium. The placement exam or the entrance exam as others called it was going to be hosted by someone but Maxwell didn't know by who.
"Do you guys think Maxwell is alright? The whole time since we left the house, he's been silent as a grave." said King being the first to notice.
"Maybe he's nervous?" guessed Luz.
The three turned to look at Maxwell who was still silent like King has stated. He was slightly shaking in the body as if he felt cold, he was breathing in and out but they could tell this was all from ether being nervous or his shyness was taking hold of his mind. What Luz has guessed has been confirmed.
"Maxie, feeling nervous?" asked Luz curiously.
"Un poco." said Maxwell.
"Translation?" said King.
"A little." Luz translated.
Maxwell walked up towards the three and they could see he was nervous from the sight of his shoulders shaking a bit. He was still breathing in and out.
"Maxie, if you need to relax, you need to take slow, deep breaths." King advised kindly.
Maxwell started to breath in and out slowly as King advised and he was shaking less. Luz placed her hand on his left shoulder in an attempt to calm him or to soothe him of any fear or nervousness. It helped him a little bit.
"Was there a big crowd in the audience when you went through the placement exam? I only sense one mind and brainwave activity in the audience and it's Principle Bump." said Maxwell with a calming breath.
"Actually, it was just him. My performance was a bit rocky and there was one or two slip ups but I got in." said Luz attempting to reassure Maxwell.
"Are you sure I can do this? I'll admit, I'm shaking like a leaf in the wind." said Maxwell feeling hesitant.
"Well, think of it this way, no matter what happens, you still have us. Besides, I'll bet you'll do better than I did." said Luz trying to inject some positivity in him.
Maxwell let out a sigh and he looked up as he knew he was there for a reason and yet he felt like he needed a brief confidence boost.
"Alright, but is it alright if I ask if someone could do something to give me a confidence boost? I know it's asking a lot but I'm sure Eda did the same for Luz when she went through this, right?" said Maxwell feeling his fear slightly disappearing.
Luz knew that Maxwell was right as she nodded. Eda had an idea pop into her head when she heard him ask one of them to do something to give him a confidence boost, she smiled.
"Maybe I can make him laugh?" suggested King.
"Or I can do this." Eda chimed in.
Without warning, Eda placed her hands on Maxwell's shoulders and pulled him in close for a kiss to his lips. She deeply, passionately kissed him as both closed their eyes during the kiss. Luz and King didn't expect Eda to give him a confidence boost this way, they expected she would give him a pep talk. Maxwell's heart raced from the kiss as he felt her big, soft, full lips. She eventually pulled her lips off him in a loud pop as she smiled and Maxwell felt his fear and shyness disappear.
"I'm gonna rock this land." said Maxwell with a stoic expression.
"Knock 'em dead, Maxie!" Eda cheered.
Maxwell walked out onto the stage of the auditorium, the curtains raised to show Maxwell on stage, there, he saw the room was empty but only Principle Bump was in the room. He sat in the front row of the seats.
"Principle Hieronymus Bump, I heard this school built on the bones of its rival school, Glandus High, and you literally conquered it all." said Maxwell feeling confident.
"Just Principle Bump, and yes, I did. I take it you read my mind like an open book for that one?" asked Principle Bump looking stoic.
"Nope, the brochure told me everything." said Maxwell popping his neck.
Principle Bump was briefly wide eyed at what Maxwell told him but his stoic expression returned.
"I see, you got me on that one. The second human that wants to be a witch or wants to get a better control over this power he possesses. Against my better judgement, I've allowed you to take this exam into Hexside. But from our last encounter, you did show potential when you took down the unevolved vampire. But even though you've shown you can do plenty of spells back than, still, everyone has to take the placement exam as it is procedure." explained Principle Bump. "But since you've shown to be quite powerful, try to use a couple of spells that are...less risky."
Maxwell knew that Principle Bump was only doing his job but he knew that he was showing some kindness, even if it was subtle. An idea came to his mind, causing him to smile.
"Than I hope you like soft rock." said Maxwell.
It might not have looked like it but what he had said had Principle Bump feeling a sense of nervousness.
"Ongaku!" said Maxwell powerfully.
Maxwell's body started to glow a gold color, his eyes glowed completely gold while his portable radio that was strapped to his hip started to play what sounded like a combination of pop, soft rock and R&B music, he didn't even use his hands to turn it on. Principle Bump was surprised by what he saw. Maxwell began to sing as his singing voice sounded so beautiful that it sounded like no one else could match the melody. His voice began to vocalize beautifully.
"Oh, her eyes, her eyes. Make the stars look like they're not shinin'. Her hair, her hair. Falls perfectly without her trying. She's so beautiful, and I tell her everyday"
The music kept going as it sounded so beautiful that both Eda, King and Luz were starting to like this music and the song that Maxwell performed.
"Yeah! I know, I know. When I compliment her she won't believe me. And it's so, it's so. Sad to think that she don't see what I see. But every time she asks me, "Do I look okay?" I sa-a-ay"
As the music kept going, both the melody and Maxwell's singing only became much more beautiful.

As Principle Bump kept watching and listening, he felt his right foot tapping without his control, he tried to hide that but it was hard to do so. Luz felt like this was a romantic gesture that a man does for the lady that the man loves. Luz lightly nudged her elbow towards Eda as she winked and grinned at her while Eda blushed and smiled as she pulled Luz in a one armed hug.
"Yeah! Her lips, her lips. I could kiss them all day if she'd let me. Her laugh, her laugh. She hates but I think it makes her such a beauty. She's so beautiful, and I tell her everyday"
Maxwell began to tap his left foot to the musical beat as his singing made him sound like he had the voice of an angel.
"Oh you know, you know, you know I'd never ask you to change. If perfect's what you're searching for, then just stay the same. So don't even bother asking if you look okay. You know I'll sa-a-a-ay"
Maxwell suddenly had his right hand glow an amber color and he brushed it through the air as two amber colored lights formed and they morphed into what looked like two people. One looked like it was male while the other was female when it showed it was wearing what looked like a skirt and had long hair. The two lights that formed into the male and the female looked like the pictures people see to tell which bathroom is for men and women on the signs that showed the pictures of a drawn out male and female. They were shown dancing together.

Maxwell suddenly sang louder and his voice became so beautiful that a braver, tougher and stronger man who went through a war and won would shed a tear at such beauty in the melody and the song's words.
"The way you a-a-a-are. The way you a-a-a-are. Girl, you're amazing, just the way you are"
As the music got a bit softer now and Maxwell's singing got softer. The gold lighted male and female figures that he generated through his magic suddenly became one and formed into a six foot tall golden silhouette of Eda and the silhouette came over towards him as two huge, white angel like wings formed on Maxwell's back. Principle Bump was showing a surprised look on his face as the silhouette of Eda was standing and floating in front of Maxwell. The young male human smiled at the silhouette figure.
"When I see your face. There's not a thing that I would change, 'cause you're amazing, just the way you are. And when you smile. The whole world stops and stares for a while, 'cause, girl, you're amazing, just the way you are. Yeah!"
The music and the song stopped while Maxwell stopped singing. The silhouette of Eda reached out to pull Maxwell in for a hug and kissed him on his left cheek, than the silhouette figure disappeared. The gold color in Maxwell's eyes turned back to blue, the wings on his back disappeared in a puff of gold smoke and the gold light around him faded away. Maxwell looked towards Principle Bump who was trying very hard to show no emotion on his face or in his eyes.
"You like what you see?" said Maxwell proudly.
"I've seen flashy performances before. Yet the way you've done magic, that there is also something that I've never seen any witch or human do before, I never heard of that sort of magic ether where one does magic without tracing spell circles in the air or doing magic like Luz Noceda did with drawing glyphs on paper, tapping it once and the spell forms. I hope I said Luz's last name right." said Principle Bump explaining. "The magic you've demonstrated is similar to how Eda does magic. Are you sure Eda didn't teach you this?"
"One, you got Luz's last name right, two, like I've said, Eda didn't teach me any of this magic, that mysterious man we told you about seems to have poured all of his power and magic in me for mysterious reasons. Even all the knowledge on how to use it was poured into me." Maxwell confessed.
"Understood. While the performance is flashy, nothing like I've ever seen. Would you mind demonstrating one more spell?" asked Principle Bump. "That is, if you can."
An idea suddenly formed into Maxwell's head as his confidence boost was pumping through him like an adrenaline rush. Maxwell popped his neck once more.
"Be careful what you wish for." said Maxwell accepting such a challenge. "Echilibrul pisicii!"
Eda, King and Luz came from backstage to see what Maxwell was about to do and to the surprise of Eda, King, Luz and even Principle Bump, they saw Maxwell jump so high up into the air that he touched the ceiling but stuck right onto the ceiling like a wad of bubblegum. He began to jump from wall to wall on the sides near the ceiling as they watched him crawl around the wall like a cat at a very fast pace like he was running. Eda appeared to be thrilled by such a sight.
"Woo! Yeah baby! Show them what lion's got!" cheered Eda in triumph.
Maxwell started to make loud lion like growls that sounded just like a lion. He looked like he rapidly crawled on the corners of the walls like he was an olympic track runner that ran laps. He eventually ran towards the stage and jumped towards the center. Eda, Luz and King both stood nearby as they saw him do three flips and landed on his feet. Maxwell sucked in a great amount of air and he let out the loudest, purest, most incredibly realistic lion like roar that was identical to an actual lion roar. Even as he roared like a lion, his face briefly morphed into the face of an actual lion, which this had Principle Bump wide eyed for a minute. After Maxwell's roar was over, his face morphed back to it's human form.
"Can't tame this lion." said Maxwell proudly.
Eda gave Principle Bump a smug grin as if knowing that he was proven wrong about something by the entire student body. Principle Bump was almost left speechless. He would open his mouth to speak but no sound and no words came out. He reached into a pocket of his robes and pulled out what looked like a red pamphlet.
"Welcome, Maxwell, to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics!" Principle Bump finally spoke.
"No need to get up from your seat, sir." said Maxwell.
Maxwell snapped his fingers and the red pamphlet flew out of Principle Bump's hands and floated rapidly towards Maxwell as he caught it in his hands like a baseball player catching the ball. Principle Bump knew that Maxwell did that.
"Don't you wish your magic was hot like mine." said Maxwell in a sing song voice. "I got in!"
"Look out Hexside, Maxie's in the house!" King and Luz cheered.
Eda came to Maxwell by a run and pulled him in for a hug but also pulled him in for a kiss to his cheeks, she kissed him on his cheeks and his forehead. This left Maxwell blushing with a grin. Both Eda, King and Luz were hugging him and he hugged them back.
"Another human attending Hexside whose probably like Edalyn Clawthorne. I hope I'm doing the right thing." thought Principle Bump in his head.
"I can hear you, Principal Hieronymus Barbara Bump. Do you want me to pull both humans out of the school and get denied the chance to better learn the correct information about humans?" said Maxwell communicating with Principle Bump's mind.
Principle Bump tried to look like he didn't notice this.
"Lets not get hasty. I'll stop." said Principle Bump inside his mind.
"Understood. Also, in the morning, don't use fire magic in the morning. I saw it will give you terrible burns. So avoid using fire magic in the morning." warned Maxwell by communicating with Principle Bump through his mind.
As Principle Bump was taken aback by what Maxwell warning him about through his mind, he knew that meant Maxwell can foresee the future through psychic visions. He was now surprised and worried if Maxwell was more powerful than he thinks.
Little did they all know, somewhere outside the school, there was a seven foot tall figure that was wearing a black trench coat, a large, black fedora hat that was covering it's face and black boots. What little of the figure's face, hands or body it showed looked like it had green, scaly skin like a reptile. It blew out smoke from it's mouth and looked like it was smoking a cigar.
"No human can hide from me. I know you're in there." said the mysterious reptilian figure.
The reptilian figure was smoking a cigar and walked away as it had plans for ether Luz or Maxwell. But question is, what did he have planned and how many other students and teachers were in danger.
