I do not own Twilight or Vampire Diaries. I am just borrowing a few characters to share a story that won't leave me.
This is not a happy story and some characters will not have a happy ending for everyone so you are warned. I usually love Edward and Bella pairings, this time Damon Salvatore gets a happy ending without Elena. I am sure there are many other stories you can read so if my story bothers you please be happy and look elsewhere.
While I admit I am not perfect, pointing out mistakes is welcome, however remember to be nice. We are all human and make mistakes, being mean will not be tolerated. If you are mean, change something in your life so you can find the happiness you need. Life is short and everyone deserves to be happy.

Twilight New Moon: Bella's birthday
Vampire Diaries: Damon learns Katherine is not in Tomb and leaves town.
I will try to keep the locations and characters clear so that you can follow the story I am changing the flow of the story so be prepared it will not follow the show/books.
Things change in Forks but remain the same
Just as Alice had predicted, Bella and Damon fell head over heels for each other and accepted the bond mate.
Bella enjoyed spending time with not only with Damon but also her father. This would be a time her life that she would always look back on with great fondness. They grew into a family.
Charlie was happy with Bella and Damon's relationship as they seemed less intense than Bella's relationship than with Edward. He accepted that Alice and Jasper were friends with Bella and Damon and they often included Angela Webber and Eric Yorkie in their game nights and group dates.
With Damon's persuasion Charlie never questioned why only Jasper and Alice had returned to Forks without their parents. Alice was currently enrolled in school with Bella to reassure Damon Bella was safe.
Alice made mention of the possibility of a move before graduation but was not certain on the future. Some things kept changing but she was fairly certain Charlie would be included in the move. This kept Jasper and Damon busy as they worked on the plans for the big move. The duo also took several trips to Seattle to search for Victoria.
Damon had kept his promise to call his younger brother at least once a week and to Stefan's amazement Damon had also apologized for his actions and all the havoc he had left behind in Mystic Falls. Stefan was hesitant at first to trust Damon until he learned that Bella was Damon's mate. Damon was becoming the older brother Stefan had remembered before Katherine entered their lives.
It was after another animal attack in Mystic Falls that Bella had finally succeeded in getting Stefan to agree to come to Forks for a family Christmas. Charlie had to talk with Elena's aunt Jenna a few times to convince them to come to Forks over Christmas break.
Stefan, Elena, Jeremy, and their Aunt Jenna would be coming to forks and staying with Damon, forcing Alice and Jasper to become guests at the swan house. Jasper felt it would make Stefan more comfortable if he was away from the humans even though everyone knew Jasper was no threat to them.
Alice had seen the Cullen's move to Vermont without Edward; he had gone to South America to stay on Esme's Island. Regular phone calls to Esme and Carlisle kept the family in the dark as to where Alice and Jasper actually were, as they only mentioned staying with some long time friends.
Damon was the only one who asked about Edward and his whereabouts. Finding out that he was on another continent made Damon happy as Alice let it slip once that Edward was wavering on his decision about leaving Bella. Bella had assured Damon that even if Edward returned the next day, she would have nothing to do with him. She loved Damon with all her heart.
