Destruction of Camp McCarran
Six went back to the Lucky 38 to rest as the surgery aftermath was a bit stressful. She decided to go outside and Cass volunteered to travel with her as she said that she wanted to get away from all the paperwork. Six ordered her to wait while she used her Transportalponder to talk to the Think Tank and asked if they have any desire to travel the world. Only Klein and Dala have desires to see the outside world as Borous, O and 8 are content to stay and continue the research.
Six was satisfied with that and left the Think Tank. She and Cass went to the Fort and entered the tent.
Inside the tent is Caesar of course. Vulpes beside him while Lucius is further back in the tent. Caesar is seen talking to a man with gold looking armor and a cape. He is also wearing some kind of helmet that is also a mask.
Caesar noticed Six and happily told her. "Ah! Courier! Perfect timing! I want you to meet Legatus Lanius."
The tall man named Lanius spoke with his deep voice. "So you're the Courier who has done so much for the Legion." Six nodded her head in acknowledgement.
Lanius looked at the woman before him and noted her features: Her skin is fair and smooth with some of the smallest of scars she's suffered in her travels. Her face is fairly beautiful but there is a certain strain and stress pulling at her features though if anything, it only enhanced her beauty. Her eyes are blue but they held a good deal of wisdom that screams of experience and intelligence. He couldn't see her hair on account of the bonnet she's wearing but he did notice that she is wearing a red dress that has a cut showing her left thigh.
Lanius walked a little closer to Six but Cass gently pulled Six behind her in a sort of a motherly way.
Lanius asked. "And who is this woman Courier?"
Cass answered for Six. "The name's Rose of Sharon Cassidy pal and I won't be talked down to by anybody. Not even a 'Legatus'."
Lanius made a snorting noise behind his helmet. "Amusing. Courier, your taste in companions grows ever more inexplicable. I found your sentimentality pathetic but it's not my concern."
Caesar ordered. "Legate Lanius will assist you in taking down the Profligates' main base of operations: Camp McCarran. It is where the NCR Troopers go to laze and waste their money on the Strip. I order you to go to Camp McCarran and wipe out the Profligates."
Lanius bowed. "It will be done my Lord."
Six nodded. "Understood. I have an intimate understanding of the area and the people inhabiting it so I can be of great help."
Caesar replied. "That is true. Vulpes told me as such of your aid to take down the monorail though it cost me a spy in the process."
Six said. "Worry not, we will destroy Camp McCarran and cripple the NCR in the process."
Caesar replied. "Good. Report back to me when you're finished." Then he dismissed them.
Six requests of Lanius. "Please meet me at the Fiend Territory near Camp McCarran."
Lanius replied. "Do not delay Courier." Then he left.
Six turned to Cass. "I will go with Lanius. Get Christine and Veronica, I need their help."
Cass replied. "You got it cowgirl."
They arrived at Fiend territory where Six convinced Motor-Runner to allow them safety near Vault 3. She killed Cook-Cook, Violet and Driver Nephi for the bounty Major Dhatri offered her.
Christine and Veronica arrived and the latter called out. "Hey Six! Cass told us to meet you. So what's the plan."
Six made her commands. "Veronica, you go to Vault 19 and tell Samuel Cooke to prepare a symphony for the NCR. He'll know what it means." She turned to Christine and commanded her. "Christine, go to Red Rock Canyon and tell Papa Kahn to remember Bitter Springs. He'll know what it means."
"Understood/You got it." Christine and Veronica replied and they left to deliver the news.
Lanius questioned. "Are you sure that they can survive while gathering allies and in time too?"
Six confidently replied. "They are very capable women and they are very good in combat, not as good as me but they can hold their own against any enemy coming their way. Probably on par to Veteran or Centurion level."
The two waited for two days and then Christine and Veronica arrived with Samuel Cooke and the Powder Gangers and Melissa and Oscar Velasco with a contingent of Great Kahn warriors.
Six and Samuel shook hands and embraced each other. Six started the conversation. "It's good to see you again Samuel."
Samuel replied. "Nice touch on getting your girl to tell me to orchestrate a symphony."
Six asked. "How's your initiation in the Great Kahns going?"
Cook answered. "It's brutal. Some of the others left and are probably dead by now. But most of us are tough enough to be members."
Six nodded. "Good to hear. You got those explosives ready?" When Cooke nodded, she simply said 'good' and turned to Melissa and Oscar. "You guys are here."
Melissa replied. "Papa Kahn has agreed to let us bring a group with you. They may not be Ranger level but they're brave and are willing to avenge our people back at Bitter Springs." Oscar nodded in agreement.
Lanius was unimpressed by the allies the Courier brought up. "These groups you brought are nothing more than thugs and tribals!"
Six replied. "Calm yourself Lanius. You guys aren't any different before Caesar conscripted you into the Legion." She declared to everyone. "Let's head to the Vault everyone."
Everyone went inside the Vault and entered the overseer's office. Six used the board nearby to bring up an overview of Camp McCarran.
Six explained the plan. "Camp McCarran is an airport that serves as the headquarters for the NCR. It's a strategic location that allows them to keep an eye on the Strip and go there via monorail. There, they handled just about everything: logistics, reinforcements, supplies. It is lead by Colonel James Hsu who in my option is a good man and knows what he's doing unlike Mr. Wait-and-See Oliver. There is the courtyard where most of the troopers are present. Inside is the offices and also the cafeteria."
Six turned to Cooke. "You and the Powder Gangers head up to the rooftops and start the bombing on the camps."
Cooke nodded, liking his role there.
Six turned to Oscar and Melissa. "You will get Motor-Runner to gather his Fiends and they will attack after the bombing. You will enter after they do and wipe out the 1st Recon battalion."
Oscar raised a hand. "What do they look like?" Six answered by pulling out a red beret and giving it to him so that he can tell the difference between a regular trooper and a sniper.
Six turned to Christine and Veronica. "I have a personal request for you two. During the fighting I want you two to sneak in and capture Colonel Hsu and Lieutenant Boyd. Once you're done, meet me at REPCONN headquarters."
Veronica asked. "Why do you want us to capture two NCR officers?"
Six just made a cryptic reply. "Let's just say that two old world scientists want to see the world." She gave Christine a knowing look. Christine's eyes went wide as she realized where Six is getting at and nodded in understanding.
Lanius asked. "What of my role be here in this battle Courier?"
Six answered. "Yours is the simplest task of all: You will station a garrison in Camp McCarran after the troops here are killed. The Legion's presence near Vegas will scare the NCR and discouraged them from attacking." Lanius just nodded.
The attack began at 5 pm. The Powder Gangers disguised themselves with NCR trooper uniforms as they walked inside the base and quickly get into position on the rooftops. Cooke ordered to begin the orchestra so they started throwing in dynamites, Frag and plasma grenades, incendiary grenades, tin grenades, MFC grenades at the unsuspecting troopers. The troopers were caught off guard and scrambled to find out who is bombing them. By the time they realized they were being hit by the rooftops, Cooke and the disguised Powder Gangers left the camp.
Great Kahns and the Fiends were waiting inside when the bombing happened. The bombing stopped and the silence is the signal for them to attack. The Fiends attacked first and used laser and plasma rifles against the troopers not killed in the bombing. Significant casualties occurred but the Fiends made the NCR work their victory and ultimately the Fiends were wiped out with Major Dhatri managing to kill Motor-Runner with his pistol despite the loss of his left arm chopped of by Motor-Runner's chainsaw.
The Great Kahns and the Legion attacked next. The Legionnaires made up the bulk of the invasion force while the Kahns served as a supporting role for the Legion. Ultimately the Legion killed all of the troopers outside while the Kahns were credited in wiping out 1st Recon battalion with Melissa killing Cpl. Betsy and Oscar Velasco killing Sergeant Bitter-Root.
During all the fighting, Veronica used a Stealth boy while Christine relied on her Stealth Suit Mk II's cloaking technology to sneak inside the terminal building. They split up where Christine knocked out Lieutenant Boyd with the butt part of YCS/186 while Veronica punched the Colonel in the back of his head, knocking him out.
With that done, they carried the two unconscious officers on their shoulders and quickly ran out of the courtyard just as the fighting is about to finish.
They went back to Six with Hsu and Boyd on their shoulders. Six praised their work and ordered them to wait for her at Camp McCarran.
The Great Kahns went inside the terminal building and killed any troopers standing in their way even Doctor Hildern and Williams weren't spared from the slaughter. The Legion also freed Centurion Silus who has been held captive for some time.
Camp McCarran is ultimately destroyed and devoid of NCR troopers.
Six and Lanius congratulated them and Six had the loot split between the allied forces much to Lanius' displeasure of letting the Legion keep ALL of the spoils.
Six had the Great Kahns bring home food and took the food additive from Farber's corpse as he is killed by a Legion Veteran and made a mental note to give it to the Followers so that they can use it to give to the farmers for better taste quality.
Six and Cooke took the weapons and ammo from Contreras' room. Cooke thanked her and he and Powder Gangers left to join the Great Kahns at Red Rock Canyon.
Lanius mused. "Your use of allies was strange but ultimately paid off. Caesar has put a lot of faith in you and it showed. I will assume command and send a messenger to tell Caesar of our victory here. True to Caesar."
Six nodded and said. "I will leave you to establish a garrison while I meet with my girlfriends for the captured officers."
Lanius inquired. "May I ask what do you intend to do with them?"
Six replied. "All I can tell you is that you won't see them again. Trust me, it's better if you don't know what I intend to do with them."
Lanius was confused about what the Courier meant but dismissed it as Six's business isn't his. He made commands to the Legionnaires to occupy sections of Camp McCarran.
Six met up with Christine and Veronica at REPCONN Headquarters where she made a command. "Christine, wait here. Veronica, hold my arm." Veronica did so and Six fired her Transportalponder with the unconscious Hsu and Boyd in tow. When they arrived at the Sink, Six ordered Veronica to help her carry the bodies to the Think Tank.
When Hsu woke up, he found it strange that he couldn't bring himself to get his weapon. Not because he couldn't but didn't WANT to. Next to him is Boyd, both of them were unharmed.
"Hello Hsu." A female voice came, Hsu recognized it as Six as he heard that she helped with Betsy's trauma, Dhatri's bounty, Morales' husband's body recovery, and assisting Farber with the food supply. "I take it you're wondering why you're here."
Hsu demanded. "Why did you betray us to the Legion? And where are we? What do you want from us?!"
Six answered calmly. "In order? I decided to join the Legion so I don't see it as a betrayal. We are in a laboratory that was here before the war. As for the last one, well it's not about what I want but what Klein and Dala want."
Boyd asked. "Who are they?"
Six stepped aside as the two Think Tanks began their dissection. "Two scientists from the Old World and they're in the market for new bodies."
Soon, the professors adjusted to their bodies as they transferred their brains to them. Klein was testing his muscles while Dala spent the time...touching parts of her body...
"Oh god...this felt goood." Dala moaned.
Six was unfazed by that as she took a Plasma Pistol and a Laser Pistol. "I will have two of my girlfriends escort you to factions that I feel that will benefit from your intelligence and talents. These will be your weapons. I recommend that you get familiar with them if you haven't already."
Klein snorted. "My dear lady, I am proficient at the knowledge of energy weapons. My intelligence for them is my speciality."
Six, Veronica, Klein and Dala left Big Mountain for the Mojave. Christine was surprised to see the two (former) officers standing but Six explained that these two are Klein and Dala.
Six made commands to her girlfriends. "Veronica, I want you to escort Doctor Klein to the Brotherhood as I feel that his intelligence with technology can help their cause. Christine, introduce Doctor Dala to the Followers as I feel that the doctors there can learn from her knowledge of the human body. Tell the Elder and Julie that they are Old World scientists and allow them to explain themselves."
"Understood/Okay Six." They both replied as Veronica began escorting Doctor Klein to Hidden Valley while Christine took Doctor Dala to the Mormon Fort where they introduced the scientists to the leaders.
Elder McNamara was surprised but pleased to know that an Old World scientist will be joining their ranks so he placed Klein in a position of Head Scribe in Taggart's place as the man was experimenting on ARCHIMEDES with the help of Lorenzo. Klein knew a lot about energy weapons AND power armor as he instructed the other scribes and knights on how to maintain them and optimized the weapons without injuring their owners. He also proved to be of great help by helping the others maintain the bunker's air filtration system.
Julie was shocked to see an Old World scientist looking to join but accepted. Dala made lots of textbooks on the human body: diseases, organs and limbs. Julie was so impressed about Dala's knowledge of the human body that she made her the chief head researcher. Soon Dala made researches on cures to the ailments of humans and even found interesting breakthroughs to save a life thanks to her time as a Think Tank in Big Mountain. The other Followers and locals praised her achievements and her textbooks were immediately printed out and shipped to other outposts.
Six dismissed her girlfriends and have Raul follow her as she went back to the Fort.
