Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of The Lioness and the Wolf. Enjoy the 1200-Word chapter. I don't own AGK, Takahiro, Square Enix and a few others do.

(Imperial Warship)

Jace was glad the soldiers with rifles didn't open fire. If it wasn't for friendly fire. The Imperial soldiers would have gutted them.

Leone seemed to be doing pretty well. Jace flipped an axe wielding soldier to the ground. He snapped the man's neck with his foot.

Leone punched a hole through a sword wielding soldier. She tossed another soldier across the deck. Jace was starting to wonder if he was even needed.

Jace dodged a slice at his eyes before turning and slashing the man's neck.

"This is the best the imperial military can produce?!" Jace hissed and grunted slightly. He looked at the soldiers, his cheek oozed crimson blood. "Ok, now it's time to get serious..." Jace growled out before rushing forward.

Jace watched a squad of soldiers with rifles take aim. Jace cursed and rolled behind the wreckage of the mast. Bullets flew at him and Leone.

Leone was quick to flip into the air just as their rifles cracked. Jace watched Leone spiral through the air just to land on the mast.

"Damn it, why won't they stay down?" One of the imperial soldiers questioned. "What the hell do you even want?! Why are you fighting so damn hard?" The soldier questioned one for Jace to chuckle at the irony.

"I want your admiral." Jace stated before wiping the blood off his face. "You've tried to cut the rebellion open. You've almost entirely lost this fight. Tell me, how many of you want to die for him?" Jace questioned the soldier.

The remaining imperial soldiers looked at Leone and Jace. Both were surrounded by freshly slain soldiers. They looked like animals. Jace felt like a wolf hunting prey.

"Someone gets the damn admiral." The soldier hissed. "If he wants to lead us? Then the least he can do is defend his own ship." The soldier ordered as the remaining marines blinked.

Jace wondered if they had any idea that they were fighting a former Night Raid member. He doubted it, nor would they care.

"Hmm…" Jace hummed to himself while he looked around. The soldiers were shocked, surprised that so many had been overwhelmed.

Jace was starting to think many of the soldiers believed them monsters. They backed off which made Jace understand they were aware of how outmatched Jace and Leone had made the soldiers.

"Are we winning?" Leone whispered to Jace who nodded. "I thought they'd try even harder." Leone muttered which made Jace chuckle.

"They're a lot of things." Jace whispered in return. "But you should remember the imperials can't work together. Imperials are only loyal until it starts to cost them." Jace whispered to Leone who nodded.

"Well?!" The soldier yelled, angered his comrades seemed so useless. "Someone gets the damned Admiral! This is his fleet! It is HIS duty to lead us!" The soldier bellowed and was rewarded with some of his men finally moving.

Jace did not straighten up for a moment. Just because their commander FINALLY decided to show? It didn't mean that the fight was over. Jace wanted to kill the Admiral. but that didn't mean the man cared to show his face. He could tell the soldiers wanted to just shoot them.

"I know you can heal." Jace stated like it was a common utterance. "But you're not bulletproof, you know. I had to work the bullets out of your stomach when I found you. Don't get cocky and charge them if there's still gunmen." Jace put in, Leone hummed.

Both listened, they could hear screaming below deck. Someone was clearly incensed at being disturbed. The shrill voices of the soldiers reporting things sounded like ants.

At least in Jace's mind when compared to the hulking beast of a voice he heard.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY GOT PAST YOU!?" Jace and Leone heard bellowed like a monster screaming bloody murder. "YOU SHOULD HAVE KILLED THEM BOTH! THEIR TWO PEOPLE! YOU HAVE GUNS, GET UP THERE AND SHOOT THEM!" Jace and Leone also heard the Admiral bellow.

"Kinda exactly how I thought he'd sound." Jace snarked as Leone giggled. Jace looked at the soldiers in front of them.

"Any reason you guys feel like continuing this?" Jace asked, relaxing slightly. "I mean, I'm no military expert? But you're not doing much and we've ripped apart 2 squads of your men." Jace stated before letting out a hum.

Some of the marines seemed to share looks. Jace knew they had the duo outnumbered. If the Admiral even cared to get above deck?

He'd have done it after his men were killed so he had an advantage. Jace didn't know whether to be disgusted by his callous nature…. Or to respect the pragmatism of the man AFTER a war. A war that clearly showed treachery and backstabbing didn't work.

"We're not going anywhere, you damn freak." One of the marines said, training his gun on them.

"YEAH!" Another marine added as Jace could only raise an eyebrow. "If we kill you? Admiral Dune might actually promote us! Just because that damn rebellion kicked out of the empire? Don't mean crap!" The marine added while Jace raised his eyebrow higher.

"Dune?" Jace questioned with amusement evident in his voice. "The name of the admiral is 'DUNE?' Ok, I've heard everything by now." Jace stated to himself while cracking his knuckles."

"Way to go, dumbass!" One of the marines yelled, backhanding the soldier with his hammer. "Now they know his name!" The marine yelled to his ally.

Jace rolled his eyes at the lack of discipline and respect. Jace had been treated like a son in the Rebel Army. These soldiers looked ready to shoot each other.

"Jace, wasn't the plan to sink the fleet?" Leone asked, suddenly remembering Jace's original plan.

Jace's eyes widened as he realized just now, she was right. They were supposed to set off the gunpowder and leave. Jace had totally forgotten this wasn't supposed to be much of a fight.

"Do we even have a way to start a fire?" Jace questioned and looked around the deck. Jace could see nothing but debris, pieces of shattered wood.

Then he took a sniff and smelt something…. Powder from a box of grenades. Jace turned and looked to see one of the boxes tipped over. An untouched grenade laid on the deck.

"Does Dune just love explosives?" Jace questioned. Part of him wondering why there was so many grenades on his ships.

"Don't know, but we could…" Leone whispered as Jace hummed and eyed the explosive.

Jace contemplated it, the soldiers would see them. Jace would also have to focus on lighting the fuse.

It took him a second to think…. Another to bolt towards it.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out Jace and Leone have a very teasing and flirty relationship. I also do plan to use Dune as a villain, but not currently. Next chapter will show Jace and Leone trying to destroy the ship. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter is 900 words, chapter after that? 1200. Akame and other stories might be delayed in the coming months.
