Chapter 16
Primsa walked the long halls of her palace. The noble and graceful queen was on a mission. After returning home permanently with her Sparkmate Primus she needed to discuss the matter that she had put on hold since leaving. The first was to see her grandsons.
Primsa and her Sparkmate had agreed after all their sparklings were born to divide the power of the throne. After watching Primus and Unicron tear apart the Galaxy for power she knew that at the time if she were to survive this that she would prevent this from happening to her future sparklings.
She arrived at the docking bay and greeted her daughter-in law. Aqua Paxious had her two sons in tow and they were ecstatic to see their grandmother. It had been a stellar cycle since the day she had received the prophecy.
Aqua bowed deeply and her sons followed.
"No need for formalities, I'm your mother dear." Primsa smiled and motioned for the three to follow her.
Orion was barely a few days old when he was unknowingly crowned as the heir to the throne by her and her Spark mate.
"Are you going to take us to see Primus?" Magnus asked as he trailed behind his mother.
"No, Primus had political agendas to fulfill. Were going on a tour of the old palace that your father used to live at". Primsa beamed.
"Oh, I'd rather stay at this one." Orion chirped in. Aqua shot a look at her oldest son. Orion shot a look back and waited for his grandmother to respond.
"Though this palace may be grand, but you'll get to see what it was like living back 'in the olden days."
Orion and Magnus finished their sparring match with their trainers and washed up. The two Mechs had been non stop training since the Riot in Cybercity broke out. It was the day of the Council meeting, the meeting where Orion and Magnus were finally eligible to attend. They didn't even make it to the council hall before they were instructed to turn around by their Royal Guard. The Primes and Council members who were already at the hall were forced to lock down inside until the Riot ceased.
The meeting was postponed until further notice by the Minister of Cybertronians. The public grew angry with the primes and demanded they have their own representation and forcibly elected the minister.
"Do you ever wonder what our lives would be like if we weren't forced to be military generals?" Orion asked.
Magnus pondered "i mean no." he looked at his older brother with confusion. "Why do you?"
Orion looked off. "Yes." he answered simply.
"I want to be an archivist, do you know how much fun that would be, to study history and not the history grandfather and dad try to teach us."
Magnus who barely passed his history course at the academy looked at Orion like he was Crazy. " What do you mean History that isn't what Grandfather taught us?"
"You really need to borrow some books from Vectors and Micronus' secret library; they have tons of accounts about certain events that seem a little fishy."
"So you're saying two of our uncles have secret archives that supposedly have the 'true' accounts of what really happened in history. Why wouldn't they be open to the public? I know our family has dirty secrets but I didn't think they were dirty hidden secrets."
Orion looked at Magnus "you have so much to learn and figure out."
A messenger bot stepped onto the crystal like elevator and pressed the button that led to Prima's floor. Being the oldest son to an intergalactic emperor had its perks. Presumed to be the heir of his father prima held an ego among his two younger brothers Megatronus and Alpha Trion, that was until his mother had nine other children and had his birthright stripped and divided among him and his siblings. He didn't hate his younger siblings nor did he hate his parents, but he didn't forget.
Prima was cozied up on the couch with one of his many femmes. He was engaged to a lovely noble femme and planned to marry her, that was until he found out wasnt the heir apparent to the throne. He saw no use for spark bonding and ended his engagement.
The messenger stood awkwardly at the entrance and waited for Prima's personal guards to inform him that he was here with a message.
Prima stood up dismissed the unknown femme and motioned for him to enter. Though he wasn't the intergalactic emperor like his father he held the most power out of all his brothers and sister.
The messenger bowed. "The high council has decided to set forth a date for the meeting"
"What is the date that they agreed upon?" Prima bellowed.
The messenger handed him the holo-pad to the Prime. Prima took it and examined the date. It was set for tomorrow evening. "Tell the council that they have my approval for the date and send a message to all the other Primes and the eligible children who can attend."
The messenger bowed again and left the Prime and sent the message.
Downstairs Orion and Magnus received the message and became nervous. They were not sure if it was safe enough for them to try to have another meeting. The cybertronians were still tense and spit at the ground when any of them left the palace.
"I don't think it's safe," Orion finally said.
"Well Prima approved it and there's not much else we can do." Magnus responded.
Orion signed. Even though the crown was divided among the twelve primes they all knew that it was really Prima who ruled. Not over the people but over his siblings and their families. The remaining Primes either agreed with what he said or did or were tired of trying to stand up to him.
"Well we better tell mom that way she can start her worrying now and not yell at dad for not telling her." Magnus jokes. Him and Orion made their way back to their floor to break the news to their poor mother.
Wolfplate walked hurriedly down the dark alleyway. He constantly looked over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't being followed. He received the message that the meeting was happening tomorrow night. He knocked on the door. A mech with armour dark as the moon opened the door.
"Who are you?' he demanded.
"Wolfplate."
"The son of liege Maximo i presume."
Wolfplate nodded. The bot rolled his eyes and began to shut the door on the bot.
"Dartmouth." Wolfplate stared at the bot and waited for him to open the door to let him in. The dark mech was a bit shocked that he knew the group's secret name for entry.
He opened the door all the way and allowed him to enter. The room was dark and musty filled with smoke and the smell of fermented energon drinks. He walked all the way to the back and found the bot he was looking for.
"They approved the meeting for tomorrow, do you still have you speech?" he asked. The bot looked up at Wolfplate and nodded he handed him a drink and pulled out a stool.
"Does your father know of the plan?"
Wolfplate shook his head. "No, I haven't said anything. I'm too scared that he would not side with us. He wants power just as much as everyone else on Cybertron." Wolfplate drank the drink whole and slammed it back on the bar counter. He slid his cup to the bartender and watched him fill it up again.
"Well after tomorrow's meeting maybe he will and we'll finally have some who has power to support us." the mech proposed.
Wolfplate shook his head. "If you really want power we'd need to get my other two uncles support."
"And which uncles? You have eleven." the bot scoffed.
"Our best bet would be Megatronus or Prima."
The bot set his drink down and stroked his chin. "But with all of the proposals and changes that we want, would Prima even consider it?"
Wolfplate stopped and looked at the bot. "You're right he always bitches about his birthright. We would probably want Megatronus support. I mean he doesn't even live in the palace he live all the way in Kaon"
"And that's where the majority of the rioters live. Its where all of this rebellion started theres no way your uncle has not been influenced by the Bots there.
Wolfplate's optics beamed. It was all falling into place. He would finally have what Orion has. To be the chosen one. The next Prime.
"Does Orion know?" the Bot asked.
"No. Him and his brother are oblivious. I'd rather die than have those two find out." the beam in Wolfplate's optics immediately faded. He filled with rage at the thought of his cousins finding out about his plan and telling Grandfather. He hated them. They were undoubtedly the favorites. Everyone in the palace loved and gawked at them.
At first Wolfplate never knew why until he became so enraged that they received attention for practically doing nothing, he did some digging.
What made his younger cousin Orion Pax so special? He began contacting distant relatives of his grandfather to see if he could dig up anything. He broke into Primus' personal library and found a script in a language he didn't recognize.
He eventually translated it and discovered it was written by his Great-Grandfather, Primus' father. The script gave him information that led to his hatred of Orion Pax and his Brother.
It replays in his head over and over.
Addressed to Primus: "Be prepared for the coming of a savior. One born to your youngest son (Quintus). He will be the elder of the two children. He will be the next Prime and rule Cybertron."
And then it all came to a full blaze when he learned of the predicted prophy from an alien planet. It was unfair and stupid. Why would his grandfather skip over Prima and make his second-to- youngest grandson the heir.
After discovering the script he tried to tell everyone and try to prove to them that the mystery heir was Orion. But no one in the palace believed him, not even his own parents.
Wolfplate set his glass down. "I have to get going. I lied and said I was training my mom." The Bot nodded. Wolfplate made a swift exit and met his driver at the end of the alley way.
"Was you after training drink enjoyable Sir?"
Wolfplate did not respond and began typing on his holodevice. He messaged his uncle megatronus that he would like for him to attend the meeting tomorrow. He made it sound as urgent and needy as possible. Though he didn't see Megatronus often he knew he was his favorite and was depending on him to be at this meeting.
Orion walked servo and servo with Arcee. He was spending the night at her place tonight to escape the tension filled palace. They walked in silence down the road to her compound. It wasn't the nicest and Orion offered countless times to pay for a nicer one. But Arcee enjoyed it, she had worked so hard to finally live in one all on her own. She appreciated Orion's offer but it felt nicer to live somewhere where she earned it.
"Is there any way I could come with you tomorrow? Just to make sure you're safe." Orion stopped and looked at her pleading Optics.
"I'm afraid not the only Citizens allowed in are the ones who buy their way in." Arcee rolled her optics and continued walking to her compound.
"Well maybe you should open it up to the public, I feel like it eases the tension and allows the citizens to air their grievances to their leaders." Arcee reached the top of her porch and punched in her code.
Orion followed behind. "I agree, but do you know how hard it is to just get a law passed. The Primes can barely stand each other at the palace. Everyone is divided. It would take a miracle or basically a threat to have the council meetings open to the public" Orion and Arcee walked into her compound and Orion plopped himself onto the couch. Arcee laid ontop of him and gave him a sweet peck on the lips.
"Well maybe that's what they need a nice little wakeup call." Arcee smiled softly as she slowly melted into Orion's gaze.
"Maybe one day this Goddamn planet will be harmonized and we can all live peacefully." Orion cupped Arcee's cheek and began to kiss her deeply. Her servo's traced up and down his thick armour pecks. She began to fall limp at the touch of Orion's servo on her body.
She paused. "Did you lock the front door?"
Orion looked up and signed. "No, I guess I forgot."
Arcee chuckled. "Go lock it real quick." Orion carefully set Arcee on the other side of the couch and made his way to the front door and locked it.
"Don't leave me hanging" she smirked with her arms open to embrace her lover.
"Oh trust me i wont."
