Regina's Patience

Before the Curse

"So, you now know how to use magic." Rumple said as he watched Regina squeeze the heart in her hand into dust. "And now, you do want to learn."

"Yes." Regina said. "Now, teach me!"

"Well, it's not as simple as that, Dearie." Rumple said. "It's not just about learning how to use magic, but also control it. After all," He sneered. "All magic comes with a price. And in your case, that's your anger."

"My anger?" Regina questioned. "Why would my anger control my powers?"

"Well, your judgment tends to get clouded by your anger." Rumple retorted. "I will teach you how to control your magic, so you don't do anything too irrational."

Regina grumbled and turned to leave.

"Anger is your enemy, Dearie." Rumple said. "You best defeat it, before it defeats you."

Story Brook

"Okay, try again…" Elsa said, waving her arms. "Control it…don't feel…don't feel!" Elsa had meant to make little piles of snow. Instead, she had made ice spikes. She backed away, her house turning red again. "Ugh…I thought I had it!"

"Practicing magic, I see." Regina said, appearing out of the icy trees. "But it looks like you have a lot to learn."

"Who are you?" Elsa asked.

"Someone who wants to help." Regina said slyly, smiling.

"You…can you teach me?" Elsa hesitated.

"If you want me to." Regina said. "If you're willing to learn."

"Yes!" Elsa said hopefully. "I…I want to learn."

"All you have to do, is unfreeze the summer." Regina said.

"But…I don't know how…" Elsa admitted.

"Oh, I'm sure you do. You've been able to control your magic before. All you have to do, is do it again."

"I…I can't. I promise you; I don't know!" Elsa cried.

"Yes, you do." Regina reassured. "Just unfreeze the summer."

"I CAN'T!" Elsa snapped, ice seeming to shoot from her chest, like a poisonous flower, spewing its weapon in defense. Spikes shot towards Regina. She used her magic to steer the spikes away.

"Really?" Regina asked, her smile disappearing. "You're hopeless. The town is going to hang me if you don't fix this!" She angrily stormed away.

"Well, that was quite the show." Rumple said, walking up to Elsa.

"Who…who are you?!" Elsa gasped.

"Someone who wants to help." Rumple said in a mocking voice. "But I have patience. She does not." He pointed in the direction Regina had stormed off.

"Please teach me!" Elsa begged. "You must!"

"Well, it's not as simple as that, Dearie." Rumple said. "It's not just about learning how to use magic, but also control it. After all," He sneered. "All magic comes with a price. And in your case, that's your fear."

"My fear?" Elsa repeated. "Right… fear is my enemy…"

"Yes, fear is your enemy, Dearie." Rumple said. "You best defeat it, before it defeats you. I've come to also warn you, your sister will be arriving. And she'll try to help you too. I'll have to leave before then. I don't have much time."

Before the Curse

It was just another day in Hobbiton. Frodo had been relaxing with a cup of tea. He felt an odd urge to look into the chest he had placed an envelope in a few days prior. Gandalf told him to keep it secret and safe. He set his teacup down and walked into the parlor. He was surprised not one had looked through it the day after Bilbo had left.

He opened the box and looked through the old maps. There it was. The sealed envelope. He didn't touch it, but stared down at it… Was it…that ring? No, it couldn't be…could it? That ring that Bilbo had told about in his stories…? He wished he could visit Bilbo and ask.

He shook his head. There was no need to use it. He had to keep it secret. He had to control himself.

Story Brook

Frodo gasped, sitting up from his sleeping bag. He was breathing heavily, and his shoulder was hurting more. He reached up and grasped at his sweater.

"Frodo?" Ruby asked, sitting up as well. "What's going on? Are you okay?"

"I'm all right…it was just a dream." Frodo replied.

"How is your scar?" Ruby asked.

"It's getting worse." Frodo admitted. "And…I think bad things are about to happen…"

"What things?"

"I don't know…it's just a feeling…"

Okay, this chapter is super short! But it had to be written eventually. Anyways, I also wanted to answer a question… So the eye on the ground and on the paper Frodo drew… Just want to torture my readers and say it's not the eye of Sauron. I've been working on this story for a long time and I know how I want "Season 1" to end. Getting there will be a hard journey but I am excited. Back to the eye- Just wanted to say…it's NOT the Eye of Sauron. I HAVE given ONE hint in one of the chapters of what story it's affiliated with. And none of you know what it is! Mwahaha! I know I do have some close friends following this story, so if you happen to know what the other eye is DO NOT spoil it!
