So due to a review, I realized that the rating I gave this story and the description didn't fit: there has been little to no violence and no sex whatsoever. I'm rerating this story as K+. However, the next few stories in line will be rated T for actual violence, and maybe some language. But whatever. Also, this chapter will be short, but the next one will be pretty long, as it will be the last chapter of this story before the next book: The Red War.

Read, Review, and stay blessed. And don't be afraid to give ideas or criticism, I like to improve.

Eddie was in the middle of Titan training when an emergency bell rang and Zavala's voice was heard. "Attention, students, this is an emergency drill. Do not be alarmed, just proceed in straight lines to the nearest exit."

Eddie holstered Sunshot and followed everyone else to the exits, getting jostled by the more Titany Titans, particularly Chadrick, who made it his life's mission after Eddie told him off in the hallway that day to make Eddie as miserable as possible. As Eddie possessed none of the bulk muscle the normal Titans did, he got shoved around easier.

Once they were all outside, he found Peter wandering around aimlessly, taking out and stowing his Ghost several times. Eddie tapped his shoulder and said, "Hey, you know the Eliksni Guardians?"

Peter turned to him and nodded. "The ones who joined a month ago?"

Eddie nodded and said, "Let's see what they're up to. I have a feeling they need some people to talk to."

Peter was none too thrilled about this, but went along with it. "Fine, but make sure we get back to our class groups before we head back in."

They searched until they found the Eliksni resting near the group but far enough that they were out of mind. Eddie waved and said, "How are you guys doing?"

The oldest said, "Fine, just waiting to go back in. What about you too?"

Eddie shrugged and said, "Eh, just trying to cope with being the only unsorted student here. You would not believe how hard it is to keep swapping back and forth fighting styles and abilities. Cayde is pretty laid-back about it, and Ikora is understanding because she knows how ridiculous it is, but Zavala..."

He gestured to the two Titan Eliksni. "No offense, but Zavala sucks. He never listens to my so-called 'Excuses,' he just wants me to be perfect at everything. He doesn't do that to anyone else, he just gives me a hard time."

Venom stirred and said to Eddie's mind, "We could eat him."

Eddie pushed that image out of his head and said, "I need more time to adjust to each class I swap to. One week isn't enough. Maybe I can get it into two weeks, or even longer."

No one knew what to do with this information. They had all assumed that since he could switch classes at will, it was easy as that. They had never thought about the mental process of it, as they were all normal Guardians with one class.

Eddie shrugged again and said, "Whatever. Maybe I need to train more. Maybe I need more experience, or combat training. Whatever the case, Zavala doesn't make it easier."

The PA came on, "ATTENTION, ALL STUDENTS. PLEASE REPORT BACK TO YOUR RESPECTIVE CLASSES AND TRAINING PERIODS FOR AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT."

Eddie wondered what that could mean.

Ten minutes later...

Zavala held up a piece of paper and said, "Ok, Titans, remember the PA announcement?"

All the full Titans exclaimed, "Yes, SIR!"

Zavala continued. "Well, the announcement was that there will be a competition in a week. Every student from each year will compete. The grand prize for each year is the Exotic shotgun, Duality."

Everyone murmured to each other. "Isn't that the swap shotgun?" "Yeah, I heard the first Guardian used the ancestor of it." "Wow, and it's first prize?"

Zavala cleared his throat and everyone immediately quieted. "Now, the competition will be explained tomorrow after breakfast. Class dismissed."

Everyone packed their things and went back. Eddie couldn't sleep, both from the anxiety of what the contest would be like and the Titan beds sucked. Eddie finally fell asleep after a long night of aching and groaning, dreaming about the next day.

So, I know, short chapter, but I promise the next one will be at least 1,750-2,000 words long, for a few reasons I won't tell you yet. Anyway, as usual, the OC inclusion is still up, with an added request: tell me what kind of attitude your OC has so I can write him ((or her) correctly. Review if you want, favorite and follow if you like it enough, and if you don't, that's ok. Everyone has their preferences and likings in a story. Stay blessed!
