Shadow Matter was screaming with rage, pain and fury as his life force began to wane away, every dark atom of his whole body was splitting apart and he was flickering in and out of existence.

"Curse you, Kirby!" He wailed, dropping to his knees, "This is not the end, there is more of me out there! One day, my brethren will take their revenge and avenge my defeat and loss. Until then, YOU CAN HAVE YOUR THRONE BACK, PRINCE FURRNUTS!"

The creature that had used the Lion Warrior Doofustacar Barkleyastum Toneygus to take over the cat kingdom planet let out one last scream of rage, then it faded from existence as if it had never ever existed.

Just in time too, that was when Toneygus reappeared from nowhere, his limp body no longer becoming limp as he woke up. "Ugh…" The creature started scratching his head, "What happened?"

"Well, well, well now." Dedede chuckled, "Lookie who's waking up after a crazy ordeal he went through." Kirby was giggling, their ex-would be enemy was seemingly unaware of the fact he'd been possessed by a villainous creature from beyond the universe bent on dominating who knew how many worlds.

Once Mr. Toneygus got the full story, he was gonna be pink red in the nose!

"Who are you guys?" Toneygus asked, unlike the cats of this planet, he spoke like humanoid beings did.

Kirby could not help but face palm at the thought of the lion talking through meows and roars as his brain tried to translated all that lion talk. "We are Super Mega Team Furriziany Popstar." Fuzzynuts and Furrnutso replied in unison, circling each other and pursuing their tails.

It took five short minutes in order to bring Toneygus up to speed on what had happened, Kirby mostly did the explaining with assistance from Dedede and Fuzzynuts.

Once the story was done, the "Lion Warrior" took it rather well and so calmly at that. "Huh." Toneygus commented, "Well, the last thing I remember was a shadow falling over me and a voice in my head telling me that I was destined to rule a planet of domesticated cats smaller than us lions.

"Then things started getting fuzzy, I blacked out and was falling, falling through some unknown darkness and I did not know where I was."

"I guess that's what happens sometimes when one's body is taken over and the consciousness is replaced by another consciousness." Dedede grunted, "I've had a crazy dream once before where I got possessed."

"Well, thank you for savin' me, I dunno what to do to make amends for what the heck I did under that nasty fiend's influence."

"Anywho z's." Meta Knight coughed, "I think its time to part ways and for the good guys to go home while the cats rebuild and get on with their lives as though nothin' happened. I got other things to do."

Dedede twirled his hammer for what seemed like the fifth or sixth time, "Yeah, Dream Land's not gonna rule itself and I'm king of the world for the most part."

"As you great heroes of Popstar go home and relax after all of that hard work defeating forces of darkness..." Prince Furrnutso purred, "I will rebuild the castle and clean up whatever messes Shadow Matter left behind during his short tenure. Young Kirby, to thank you for saving us from tyranny, you can actually have Fuzzynuts as your very own pet cat."

Kirby was amazed, "Wow, I can have a cat? Great!"

Dedede laughed, "Too bad I don't get a cat."

Furrnutso winked and told the fat penguin king not to worry, one day, it was possible he would get a cat and would no longer be petless as long as Dedede was good. Dedede promised not to be mean to cats, especially since they were too cute to be unloved/hated and despised as well as mistreated...

Kirby smiled as he stroked Fuzzyton upon his soft and furry head, scratching the back of his pointy ears and fiddling with his whiskers. What an amazing hero's reward for saving the universe, a pet kitty cat.

When they got home, Kirby would set up the water dish and the food bowls he'd bought alone in case he got a pet one day in the future. The food and water bowls as well as the animal food were safely tucked away in Kirby's closet near the fridge in the kitchens.

While he was busy giving his newfound pet all the attention Fuzzyton so needed, Dedede and Meta Knight were chatting amongst themselves about how much of a joke that Shadow Matter being really was compared to Nightmare, who was a tough customer.

Speaking of the Star Rod, it had been separated from the Fur Staff in order to disband the Magical Furry Star Staff/MFSS for now, until those cute cat aliens needed help again.

As far as everyone was concerned, this was it, there were no bad guys to worry about. The universe as a whole was safe, no malevolent forces on the rise and eager to cause as much havoc as possible. Everyone could have a happily ever after. Or so Kirby and friends thought...

[In the far distant reaches of another universe beyond the Kirby universe, the mysterious Dark Matter watches with villainous eyes, a cold and evil smile upon his mysterious face.]

Dark Matter?: So, they defeated my brother. No matter, I will make my move soon with all of my minions. Soon, Kirby! SOON!

[Dark Matter disappears off to parts unknown as we end the story with a happy yet ominous tone!]
