Remus POV
We made our way to the great hall, and found a spot to sit, eagerly waiting for the food to come.
Finally, the food popped up, on the table, and we all started eating. You may be thinking why we were eating the food if we knew it was pranked. Well, (1) we didn't want to seem to suspicious, even though we were planning to announce that we did the prank, and (2) who doesn't want patterned skin?
We were all eating, waiting for the prank to happen…and then it did. Slowly everyone in the Great Hall, including the staff, started to get patterned skin. I could see Professor Dumbledore looking amused with yellow stars all over his body, and a not so happy Professor McGonagall with pink spots. I looked at myself and saw red squiggly lines, but when I looked at my friends I started to laugh. James had green squares, Sirius had blue dots, and Pete had Purple hearts. When they looked at me, they started to laugh too.
The entire great hall was covered with patterns. Some having tiny dots, all the way too big squares. I looked over, and saw blue heart Lily checking her new skin, while her friend Severus who looked very displeased, frowned at his pink flowers.
Then I heard a very angry voice "Who is the culprit behind this!" I looked over to see Professor McGonagall standing up.
I looked at my friends, and they nodded. James, and Sirius put the amplifying voice spell on themselves and stood up on their seats.
"WE DID IT!" said Sirius pointing to all of us. Me, and Peter waved nervously. "YOU MAY NOT KNOW US, BUT YOU CAN CALL US THE MARAUDERS!"
"SIRIUS IS RIGHT BUT WE CAN'T TAKE ALL THE CREDIT! James shouted. "WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE HOUSE ELVES IN THE KITCHEN FOR THEIR MIGHTY COOPERATION!"
James, and Sirius put their voices back to normal and sat down grinning crazy.
But Professor McGonagall was not smiling. "Mr. Potter Black, Pettigrew, and Lupin. In my office."
We followed her into her office, and took seat. Professor McGonagall walked over to her desk and sat down. "What is the spell to take these patterns off?" The truth…there wasn't a spell. The patterned skin should come off in a few hours. Professor McGonagall was not pleased when we told her this.
She sighed, and said, "First I will take 20 points off each, and as the head of your house it is my responsibility to hand out detention. You will all do the following tommarow night and without magic. Potter you will be cleaning out the trophies, Black, you will clean bedpans in the hospital wing, Pettigrew, you will sort out flobberworms with Professor Slughorn, and see which ones will be good enough for tomorrows lesson. As for you Mr. Lupin, you will be doing detention with me today since you have to go to your house tommarow."
"Wait what, Remus you're going home?" James asked looking at me.
With all that was going on I forgot that tommarow was the full moon, and I was suppose to come up with a lie to tell my friends! I looked at Professor McGonagall then my friends, and put on my lying face.
"Oh yea, I um I forgot to tell you guys. My mom is ill, and I need to go home for a few days. I'm leaving tommarow."
"Oh." Said Sirius for once not grinning.
I said bye to my friends, and went with Professor McGonagall to do my detention.
Turns out it wasn't that bad; we were just sorting through her papers. I was mostly thinking about tommarow night, and what would happen if my friends found out. Time flew by pass, and my detention was over. As I made my way to the door Professor McGonagall actully smiled and said, "Don't worry Mr. Lupin. Tommarow night will be fine." I smiled and nodded, though I wasn't really sure I was convinced.
I made my way to the common room, and realized no one was there, then I realized it was 10, and everyone was sleeping. I went into my dorm quietly so I wouldn't wake up my friends, but turns out they didn't go to sleep.
"Remus!" Sirius said in a whisper yell
"Finally, you're here!" Peter said
"Yea…you know…we were talking about you leaving tommarow. Why didn't you tell us?" Said James frowning
"Its nothing like that…I just forgot." I said feel bad with every word.
"Ok, but you know you can tell us anything." Said James, with Sirius, and Peter nodding a lot.
I forced a smile, and nodded. "I know I can trust all of you but, are you all trying to make my life miserable?"
Everyone gave me confused looks after this.
"Its 10 PM! If you guys don't go to sleep right now, I'm never going to be able to wake you up!" I said laughing. Everyone looked at me, and started laughing with me too.
We all went into our 4-poster beds, said night, and fell asleep. Finally, I wasn't thinking about tommarow night. All I was thinking about was too never tell my friends the truth because if I did, I would lose them.
