Lily got to the forest line the next morning and could see a table set up with bags marked with numbers of each district, she hide back in the bushes and waited to see if she could spot Clove or Cato. She saw the red head girl from five run in and grab her bag and run off, still no sign of Cato or Clove so Lily quickly sprinted forward, she saw Katniss run toward the bags as well as she got to her bag she took off in the opposite direction to where Katniss had come from knowing that Clove would be after Katniss over her. She got to the tree line and was tackled from behind, glancing back and jumping to her feet she saw Cato behind her getting to his own.

"Where the fuck have you been Lily!" He snarled at her. "I have been going crazy, I've been so fucking worried about you and here you are fine and fucking dandy!" She shrunk away from him as he grabbed her arm remembering the last time she seen him loose his temper.

"I…" She didn't know exactly what to say.

"Did you even fucking mean it when you said you loved me? We could go home together Lily!"

"And are you going to kill Clove?" She asked him and he hesitated. "See it's not that simple is it, I killed Marvel… he killed Rue and I was coming back to you when I heard the announcement and I knew it wouldn't end well so I went off on my own."

"You killed Marvel…" He shook his head, "Lil…"

"I saw what you did to that boy from three," She said quietly. "He told me he heard your plan with me, get me close so you know I wouldn't hurt you. And you'd kill me in the end," She choked up in the last bit.

"No Lil, you know that isn't true, I said that at the start before we found each other to get them off my back but I didn't mean it," he told her desperately. Lily was about to reply when they heard Clove call out of her Cato sounding as if she was in trouble. He looked torn and Lily kissed him briefly, "It's okay, I love you," He nodded he had tears in his eyes.

"Stay safe love," She nodded and he took off toward the Cornucopia, Lily walked into the forest and when she got far enough she opened her pack and found three golden knives, with a note – Laced with pufferfish Venom – Come home. She knew it'd be from her family she nodded and held back tears, she started to head to the lake when a cannon went off.

Cato she thought and took off back toward the Cornucopia her heart was thudding wetly in her chest at the thought she had lost him. When she reach him though he was knelt over Clove. Relief flooded her followed by guilt as she glanced at Cloves dead form.

"Cato," She said gently and he stood up and spun around and she leapt into his arms, "I thought it was you," She cried.

"I didn't get to her in time," he said quietly as he let go of her. "It was district 11." He said and Lily hugged him tighter. "We need to go after him, we need to avenge her,"

"Cato, No." She shook her head.

"We can go home Lil, we could make it out of here and live our lives together. We just have to do these things first and I know you hate it and I know you don't want to but I want you to have a long life Lil and I will do anything to make that happen." He told her and kissed her fiercely, she just nodded.

"Here, it was for Clove but it should fit you," He said getting up and walking to his sack and pulling out body armor. He helped her put hers on and then she helped him with his. "He took off toward the wheat field so we'll start there. What was in your pack?"

"Knives," She said, he looked disappointed, "Laced with pufferfish venom," She told him "It wouldn't kill someone but it would paralyze them," Cato smirked and he knew just how deadly she was now, he wouldn't admit it out loud but she was the most dangerous person in the arena now. The rain started to fall heavily and they crept inside the cornucopia to wait it out.

"It looks like the rain is setting in," Lily said after a while as the sky grew dark, "We should be safe in here for a while. You rest I'll take first watch."

"Why do you think it's raining?" He said suddenly, she looked at him questionably "Nothing in this arena happens by chance, not the climate, not the sun rise and not the weather, it is all design." She had never given it much thought before but he was right.

"Maybe they need more time?" He just nodded to her response.

"Come here," he mumbled and she obeyed quietly. "I just want to hold you a while." She curled up to his side facing him and he pulled her close, kissing her forehead. "Do you think your family would like me?"

"What?" She laughed, pulling back to look at him.

"Well we could both leave here and I just wanted to know, I know how much they mean to you."

She smiled him sweetly, "I don't know I guess so, when they saw the that you I see," he nodded and kissed her forehead again.
