It had been five years since Sonic became king and was now in the throne room with Aleena, Arthur, Manic and Sonia. Arthur was now healthy enough to take his place as king again and Sonic was going to decide what he wants to do.
"So what do you want to do?" Arthur asked. "You can either stay here as king or I'll take it back."
Sonic sat there thinking. He wanted to go be with his friends again but he was worried Arthur was going to be sick again.
Then he mentally shook his head.
"I'd like to get back to Mobius." he said.
Arthur smiled and nodded.
"You have to tell everyone but I don't need a coronation. When you tell everyone you give me back the crown."
Sonic nodded smiling.
"So, do it now?" he said.
"If you want."
"Yeah. I miss my friends and fighting him."
"Alright then. Let's go have everyone come here. I have a feeling they won't be happy about you leaving again." he said and chuckled.
"Probably but I want to defeat him for good and have my own family before I become king again."
Then they called everyone and were outside looking at everyone.
"I called you all here to tell you that since my dad is healthy again I'm giving him back the throne." Sonic said and everyone gasped.
"But your highness, why?" someone asked.
"I miss my friends and want my own family and defeat Robotnik for good. Like I said seven years ago, If you ever need me back I'll be there and when he's gone for good I'll come back and stay for good able to stay calm."
Everyone nodded remembering what he said that day seven years ago.
"Alright then, dad can you come here?"
Arthur smiled and went and stood in front of Sonic.
"You did a good job taking care of Mobotropolis." Arthur said smiling.
"Thanks dad. Now, may I present king Arthur, um again." he said then took off his crown and put it back on him.
"King Arthur of Mobotropolis." they all said.
After that they left and Sonic went to his room and packed up.
When he was done he headed to the train station with Sonia, Manic, Aleena an Arthur.
"By mom. By dad." he said and gave them a hug.
"Good by son. Thank you for looking after Mobotropolis." Arthur said.
"You're welcome." he said smiling then looked at Sonia and Manic. "I'll see you guys and call you if I need some help with him." he said hugging Manic.
"OK bro, thanks for taking care of Mobotropolis and making it interesting." Manic said.
"You got it." he said then gave Sonia a hug.
"By sis. I'll tell Knuckles you said hello."
She nodded.
"Be careful and I'll see you eventually." she said smiling.
When they let go he hugged Aleena.
"Be careful when you get back to Mobius." she said with her eyes watering.
"I will mom. Like I said, I promise when he's defeated for good I'll come back. If there's ever another family emergency then I'll be back."
She nodded and Sonic stepped back then turned around and started to run to the train station.
On his way there he stopped and said goodbye.
When he got on a train he sat down smiling.
He took off his medallion and put it in his bag an looked out the window still smiling.
While he headed back he looked at pictures of his friends and was excited to see them again.
When he got off the train he saw them standing there smiling and started running.
When he got there he gave them all a group hug.
Tails and Knuckles got the tightest hug.
When he saw Amy he held her close and they kissed for the first time in five years.
He wasn't leaving in a while and would never leave them until then. And that was a promise.
